The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 15 MPH, the steering wheel became loose. The contact stated that there was an abnormal amount of slack in the steering wheel. The steering wheel failed to operate as intended. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed and it was determined that the steering bushing needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired under the warranty, but the failure recurred three years later. The manufacturer was contacted and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.
Driving down the road under 40mph and headliner airbags deployed without an accident. The dash and steering wheel bags DID NOT deploy however the headliner bags deployed for no reason.
Vehicle will crank but will not start. Throws code u0109. Fuel pump control module is on backorder with no estimated time frame. I am not the only person this is happening to with a truck that we are making payments on and will not run.
Engine shut off while driving on the freeway (70mph), lost steering and braking capacity. lucky to make it to shoulder, The failure is the Fuel pump control module, second time(first failure at 48k miles, second at 98k miles) this has failed (part # 13558813). once this fails part is impossible to find. repair technicians at dealer says this is a very common failure. To my knowledge part has not been inspected. Dealer is not an option for repair due to the length of time they will keep vehicle (in key west was going to ve 3 months before they could look at it,) this failure the local dealer in Athens Ga, did not have a diesel mechanic to repair (not sure why this needed a diesel mechanic), Warning lights/message is : Reduced engine power....but did not say why reduced, engine just slowed and shut down in very heavy traffic.
Power steering has failed. Truck drives stiff without power steering.
“Service Trailer Brake System” warning on DIC. Vehicle undriveable, INOP, Safety Issue! Start truck, the above warning will flash off and on, Code C1117 DTC.

SOLVED my U029E with "Exhaust Fluid Service" and "Reduced Speed". For the past month I have been working on this issue on my 2017 Silverado 2500HD LT 6.6L. Tonight I purchased my 3rd NOX2 (downstream) sensor and IMMEDIATELY EVERYTHING WAS FIXED. So, what happened? Why did the previous 2 NOX sensors NOT work? A clue came from GM Parts Direct as the original part number was listed as "DISCONTINUED". Previously we had purchased 2 numbers matching NOX2 sensors 12676706. So why did these sensors not work when the one see image below immediately worked? CHEVY! They programmed out part number 12676706 from the computer and programmed in 12718676. 12718676 CURED OUR U029E and "Exhaust Fluid Service" and "Reduced Speed" issues. Companies are still selling NOX2 part number 12676706 because it was the original device DO NOT PURCHASE THE DISCONTINUED NOX2 SENSOR 12676706. INSTEAD PURCHASE THE 12718676 PART NUMBER.
2017 CHEVY SILVERADO 2500HD LT 6.6L It all started on June 15, 2024 with a TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER (chafing wire that was grounding and shorting against the frame and bumper) resulted in a barrage of issues. Our truck being down over a month and throwing (so far) 16 codes just on the first 2 scanners. It has also taken out the TPMS too. U0137 Trailer Brake Control Module P1050 Reductant Level Sensor P11DB NOX SENOR 1 U0076 CONTROL MODULE COMMUNICATION POWERTRAIN SENSOR U101E LOST COMMUNICATIONS WITH DEDUCTANT CONTROL MODULE U029D LOST COMMUNICATIONS WITH NOX SENSOR 1 U029E LOST COMMUNICATIONS WITH NOX SENSOR 2 U02A3 LOST COMMUNICTIONS WITH PARTICULATE MATTER SENSOR U18A2 LOST COMMUNICATIONS WITH FUEL PUMP P203C REDUCTANT LEVEL SENSOR CIRCUIT LOW P204C REDUCTANT PRESSURE SENSOR CIRCUIT LOW U029E LOST COMMUNICATION WITH NOX SENSOR 2 P20B9 REDUCTANT HEATER 1 CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN P0307 CYLENDER 7 MISFIRE P1488 TP MOTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT P0097 INSTAKE AIR TEMPORATURE (IAT) SENSOR 2 Upon having an advanced system scan there was an ADDITIONAL 128 CODES. Most of the codes referring to voltage to high and voltage to low. The entire truck is shutting down electrically and we can only assume that this will result in one of two options. First is that the vehicle will catch fire because of the system wide KNOWN WIRE CHAFING electrical issues. Second is that the vehicle is totaled / junked since Chevy will neither recall the KNOWN issues and is too busy changing customers for FRAUDULENT repairs that their vehicles do not need. Take for example P0307 which Chevy wanted $165 for the diagnostic fee and over $650 to replace cylinder 7 injector along with time for the repairs (over $1,000) for a $14 KNOWN wire connector issue that Chevy is performing fraudulently. Chevy CANNOT continue to lock the center information screen. That information is vital to our driving.
Another day another code. P11DB (NOX upstream). Now I am at NOX downstream, NOX upstream, DEF pump, cylinder 7 wire connector, Trailer Brake Controller wire harness, temperature sensor, and a dozen chafing wire harnesses because they are pulled to tight, have extreme bends in them or are rubbing against the frame, bumper, etc. Chevy recommended that I replace the cylinder 7 injector which was not the issue. At this rate if I paid Chevy to diagnose and repair this vehicle I would easily be $5,000+ in repairs since Chevy wants to do cab-off maintenance on everything now. This is manufacturer defects and consumer fraud and NTHSA is not holding Chevy accountable for. My Dad has a 1978 Pinto that he can start up and run to town but my 2017 Silverado can't even leave the farm.
This is my 3rd complaint within 6 days. The entire electrical system in this 2017 Silverado 2500HD LT 6.6L appears to be committing suicide. First it was the Brake Controller Unit, Diesel Injector Connector (cylinder 7), P1050 DEF Level Sensor, U029E NOX Sensor Module 2 Communication Lost, U02A3 Lost Communication With Particulate Matter Sensor Module, and now P018B Code: Fuel Pressure Sensor "B". At what point will the manufacturer be held accountable for manufacturer defects on this vehicle (including the Dorman 603-009 Coolant Reservoir)? Every pump and sensor on the truck is failing within a week of the trailer brake controller failure? WHY is every wire harness on this vehicle (like so many others) failing? I cannot trust that I can even drive this vehicle without either STABILITRAC shutting it down or the defective wire harnesses catching fire.
Engine wiring harness failure on my 2017 Silverado 2500HD LT 6.6. This time it is the cylinder 7 connector which is a very common complaint by Chevy owners. The wiring harness was installed with wires that were to short for the rear cylinders causing them to fail prematurely. This connector is snapped into position forcing the wires to bend at a tight 90 degree angle. Chevy is trying to force owners to replace the entire wiring harness instead of replacing just the defective connectors (GM 19368140, ACD PT3739). This failure causes the engine to idle and operate so rough that it engages STABILITRAC and forces reduced power mode.
On [XXX], I was driving our 2017 Silverado 2500HD LT 6.6, with my family in Ohio when the trailer brake controller error started flashing on the dash and would not shut off, go silent nor correct itself. It almost caused an accident initially because it was distracting me by making me look down to READ the message. Then we were almost in a dozen accidents as we were traveling too slow for conditions, unable to get off the highway safely, and issues with steering and braking. In 10 minutes, the error sounded 50+ times. We were towing a 36’ 5th wheel trailer suddenly STABILITRAC also kicked on, REDUCED POWER (another message to look down and read), the engine started running so rough (another issues to look down at the gauges) that I thought the engine had blown. We were not in a safe place to pull over and power was cut dropping our speed from 70 to 45 in a 70 zone. Just after going up the hill, we had to continue down other side which we discovered that the trailer brakes were NOT operational. As we were burning our truck brakes going down the other side. The only reset is to shut off the key (which would lock the steering wheel, lose power steering and power brakes while driving). When STABILITRAC appears vital drivers data is BLOCKED. We removed the trailer brake fuse and the trailer battery charger fuse, but the TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER messages continued. Even with the trailer disconnected the the messages continued. The trailer brake wire under the truck had exposed wires. Did the exposed wire cause other systems to malfunction? 1.Are the defective wiring harness(es) causing other systems to fail too, and/or can cause electrical fires? 2.Defective trailer braking unit needs to give one warning and STOP. This defect poses a serious issue for anyone towing (or not). 3.STABILITRAC is going to KILL someone because I believe it already has killed. If STABILITRAC throughs the right code it WILL shut down the engine. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C.
I was driving with my front and rear motoried window defrost on because its cold outside right now when I started smelling something burning. I turned down the defrost knob. I opened the driver side window to air our the smell when suddenly the rear motorized window defrost sparked up into flames while I was driving. It was in full on burning up in flames. I pulled over and luckily I was able to put out the fire. I have contacted GM because when I google this issue it states GM put out a recall on 2014-2019 Silverado HD trucks but upon speaking with a GM customer representative my truck there is no such recall on these trucks. I could have been killed or worse killed someone else on the road. I am considering getting a lawyer involved with this issue.

The capless fuel filler has failed. The door is stuck halfway open. This is a fire hazard if the truck were in an accident. My son has the same year model truck. Same exact specifications just a different color and hus has also failed. This should be recalled immediately because it's a fire hazard not to mention the emissions of the vehicle.this picture is looking straight down on the filler you can see it is not closed.
Transmission failure for the second time. the first time it happened it had 51,984 miles after I got it back, it happened again after an additional 41 thousand miles.
The engine glow plugs keep failing, I have replaced 4 already and 2 more are now failed. The vehicle only has 66K miles on it currently and the failures started around 50K. I do not understand why this hasn't been recalled like the 2018 trucks, they share the exact same engine.

When transiting between airport and home in very remote area in subzero temps the DEF warning system suddenly came on limiting vehicle speed progressively. No services were available both at this time of day and in this very remote area. There needs to be some way to override this system in the case of potential life and death. There were no warnings that this system was going to activate, it simply came on. The system had plenty of fluid but it appears the DEF heater failed. A vehicle should have an override for life and safety matters. Vehicle is going to a diesel mechanic for service now.

At about 62,000 miles the vehicle check engine light came on with codes P0700 and P0741, the RPMs go up as you accelerate but will not shift unless you let off the gas pedal. Reaching 5-6000 RPMs. Had mechanic drop transmission pan no metal found. Reading several TSBs on this issue the transmission should be recalled. Also when towing camper there was some electrical issues when the trailer was contacted the truck would not recognize trailer connected, had to shut the truck off for few minutes and restart to recognize the connection. Truck also lost power when trailer was connected and ran very sluggish, also experienced the shifting issues.
I was on a 2 hour drive hauling my 8000lbs trailer when the service trailer brake alarm went off. It constantly dinged the whole 2 hour trip and caused my trailer brakes not to work putting me and my family in danger hauling such a load with no brakes. Not only do I have no brakes but the truck is deemed undrivable due to the constant distractions of the dinging. It also inoperates the message screen to see my speed or to use any other functions like voice commands and radio. I have numerous shops look at it and wasted a few hundred bucks in parts and labor to find this problem with no resolution insight. This is due to a faulty wiring harness somewhere in the truck.

On 09/30/2020, I purchase a used 2017 Chevrolet 2500HD work truck. Since the day I started driving, I been replacing tires every 2-3 months. I was told by different people, it’s normal because of weight. I took the truck to, suspension specialist, he said it was axle and wanted to charge 4000, didn’t have that money and decided to change tires, instead. I called dealer and explain, he said that maybe I cause it. This people are no help. Today, 11/18/2021- 5:18 pm, the center of the truck, between cab and rear bed, is sunken, it looks like the body frame got bent. It’s bad. I call dealer and spoke to Mr. Arbi, he said there’s nothing he can do and it’s my problem. I’m not going to start arguing and just told him thank you and decide to report him. When I bought it, I was told it was on a minor accident, nothing major. I don’t think so. I’m no expert, and I can see the body frame, bent. This dealer got me upset, just thinking that I’m stuck with this problem, and now I need to figure out how to fix, is the body frame. Please, help me, advise, what can I do, since I finance this truck. I, can’t drive it, I need to tow. I wish I can send picture. Thank you, any information will be appreciated. Miles when I bought, approx. 75000+. Miles today 11/18/2021. 143764

I recently began getting “service trailer brakes” on my screen. This only occurs when towing trailers and not a single trailer. These trailer do not cause the alarm on similar vehicles either. I took it to the shop who didn’t look at my vehicle for a week. During this time my cell booster was plugged in the whole time, which drained the battery. The tech called and said it was a low voltage issue. I told him to disconnect the cell booster and charge the battery. He did and no more low voltage. Then he stated that there was no problem with the trailer brakes. I asked how that system was tested and he said they didn’t ave a way to test it. Hmmm. There are number of these complaints all over the internet with the same “code” and GM is not able to, and unwilling to diagnose it and correct it.

I WENT TO PUSH THE BUTTON FOR SIDE MIRROR AND REAR WINDOW DEFROST AND MY DAUGHTER WAS IN BACK SEAT SAID SHE SMELLED SOMETHING AND HEARD A BUZZING NOISE . I DIDNT KNOW WHAT IT WAS UNTIL TODAY AND I REALIZED MY REAR DEFROST IS NOT WORKING BUT THE MIRRORS DO .
I WAS STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT, WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I LET OFF THE BRAKE AND THE TRUCK TOOK OFF AT FULL THROTTLE. I NEVER EVEN HAD TIME TO TOUCH THE GAS PEDAL, IT WENT FROM 0 TO 60 IN LESS THAN 1/2 A BLOCK. I THOUGHT IT MAY HAVE BEEN A CRUISE CONTROL ISSUE AND TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO TURN IT OFF, BUT DIDN'T SLOW DOWN ONE BIT. WHEN WE GOT OUT OF TOWN, I LET OFF THE BRAKES AND IT CONTINUED TO GAIN SPEED UNTIL WE HIT 75 MPH. I AGAIN ENGAGED THE BRAKES, TURNED A CORNER TO GET OFF THE ROAD, AND WHEN I TURNED, THE TRUCK WENT BACK TO NORMAL. IT WAS LIKE A SWITCH WAS TURNED OFF. THE ENTIRE INCIDENT LASTED ABOUT 5 MINUTES, BUT IF WE HAD SNOW OR ICE ON THE ROAD AS IS USUAL THIS TIME OF YEAR, IT SURELY WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.

TOOK THE TRUCK TO A SECOND DEALERSHIP, SEWELL GMC OF MIDLAND AND THEY WERE ALSO UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO SEWELL GMC OF MIDLAND AND THEY WERE ABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM. THE FAN CLUTCH WAS REPLACED. THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPAIR IT UNDER WARRANTY SINCE IT WAS 4 MONTHS OUT OF WARRANTY WITH 29599 MILES. I HAD TO PAY FOR 40% OF THE REPAIR COST DESPITE THE ISSUE FIRST OCCURING WHILE IN WARRANTY. BUT BECAUSE THE TWO DEALERSHIPS COULD NOT DIAGNOSE A BAD FAN CLUTCH I WAS STUCK WITH 40% OF THE BILL. GM CUSTOMER SERVICE INVOLVED, GAVE ME A $100 SERVICE VOUCHER. LETTERS SENT TO CEO AND VP OF GLOBAL MANUFACTURING. NO RESOLUTION BECAUSE THE "FACTORY TRAINED TECHNICIANS" WERE UNABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM.
TRUCK HAD 13758 MILES AND OIL WAS FOUND TO BE WEEPING FROM THE FRONT OF THE OIL PAN. TRUCK WAS TAKEN TO ALL AMERICAN CHEVY OF MIDLAND. TECH ACKNOWLEDGED THERE WAS AN OIL LEAK BUT COULD NOT FIND WHERE IT WAS COMING FROM. UV DYE WAS ADDED TO OIL AND I WAS ASKED TO COME BACK IN 2 WEEKS. AFTER 2 WEEKS I WENT BACK AND THE TECH SAID THAT BECAUSE IT WAS RAINING HE COULD NOT FIND WHERE THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM. TRUCK TAKEN TO A DIFFERENT DEALER AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND WHERE THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM. OIL LEAK REMAINS.
TRUCK HAD 29599 MILES WHEN THE ENGINE BLOCK HEATER CORD WAS REPLACED UNDER RECALL. SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD THE LOW COOLANT WARNING COME UP 5 DIFFERENT TIMES. EACH TIME IT HAS COME UP I HAVE TOPPED OFF THE COOLANT. AFTER TOPPING OFF THE TIME BETWEEN SUBSEQUENT TOP OFFS VARIES BUT THERE IS AN ISSUE THAT IS CAUSING THE COOLANT TO GET LOW.

RECALL N182206311 IS NOT BEING DONE. DEALER CANNOT GET PARTS. WEST CHEVROLET, WEST, TEXAS
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE #N182206311-04: SAFETY RECALL - DIESEL ENGINE BLOCK HEATER CORD. THE NOTICE SAYS THAT I NEED TO GET THE CORD AND HEATER REPLACED WITH PART NUMBER 19419326 AS I RISK AN ELECTRICAL SHORT DAMAGING ENGINE COMPONENTS OR AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE. I DO NOT WANT TO RISK THAT. I FIRST RECEIVED THE NOTICE IN JANUARY, 2020. I WAS TOLD THEN THAT THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER AND THAT THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN THEY GET THE PART IN. NO RETURN CALL. I HAD ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE SINCE AND TOOK IT IN TO THE CHEVY DEALER TODAY AND WAS REMINDED OF THE PRIOR RECALL NOTICE REGARDING THE BLOCK HEATER. I ASKED TO HAVE IT REPLACED PER RECALL NOTICE. THE DEALERSHIP IN HENDERSON, NV CAN'T GET THE PART BECAUSE GM WILL NOT SHIP IT TO NEVADA. I CALLED GM TODAY, 4/16/20, AND SPOKE TO [XXX], AND THEN TO HER SUPERVISOR, [XXX]. I EXPLAINED THAT MY WIFE AND I ARE RETIRED AND DRIVE THIS VEHICLE IN STATES AND AREAS THAT ARE EXTREMELY COLD, I.E., WE HAVE A CABIN AT PANGUITCH LAKE, UT (MOUNTAIN LAKE) WHERE WINTER TEMPS. GET BELOW ZERO. WE GO THERE EVERY MONTH, YEAR ROUND. WE GO TO IDAHO TO VISIT CHILDREN WHERE TEMPS APPROACH SINGLE DIGITS. I GO HUNTING IN NEVADA AND COLORADO MOUNTAINS WHERE TEMPS. GET BELOW ZERO (I USE A GENERATOR TO PROVIDE THE POWER TO HEAT THE ENGINE BLOCK). I NEED TO HAVE THIS RECALL PROBLEM TAKEN CARE OF FOR THE SAFETY OF MY TRUCK, MYSELF AND FAMILY, AND OTHERS WHO MAY BE IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO ME SHOULD A PROBLEM FLARE UP WHILE DRIVING. [XXX], A SUPERVISOR AT GM, IS ADAMANT THAT I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET A NEW ENGINE HEATER CORD AND HEATER. I WAS TOLD IT'S THEIR POLICY TO ONLY SEND UNITS/PARTS TO COLD WEATHER STATES. SO IF I LIVED IN RENO, NV WHERE WINTERTIME TEMPS. ARE CONSISTENTLY BELOW 20 DEGREES, I WOULD NOT GET AN ENGINE BLOCK REPLACEMENT HEATER AND CORD. I PAID TO HAVE A WORKING ENGINE BLOCK HEATER AND CORD WHEN I BOUGHT THE TRUCK. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

SAME ISSUE AS CURRENT RECALL ON 1500 SERIES TRUCKS BUT NOT ON THE 2500 SERIES (WHICH MINE IS). PEDAL NOW VERY SPONGY, HAVE TO PUMP THEM TO GET ADEQUATE BRAKING. THIS OCCURS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND LOCAL DRIVING. PANIC STOPS REQUIRE ENGAGING THE PARKING BRAKE TO PREVENT A CRASH. HAVE HAD IT IN TWICE FOR SERVICE BUT ALL THEY ARE TRYING TO DO IS REPROGRAM. THERE ARE OTHER ISSUES WITH THE VACUMN PUMP, HYDROBOOST, MASTER CYLINDER WHICH THEY ARE APPARENTLY UNWILLING TO ADDRESS. WHY THE 2500 AND 3500 TRUCKS WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL IS THE QUESTION OF THE DAY. I AM NOT DRIVING THE TRUCK ANY MORE THAN NECESSARY AS IT IS UNSAFE. THIS COMPLAINT IS A MATTER OF RECORD OF THE ISSUE.
LOW COOLANT WARNING MESSAGE, THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH 2015-2019 CHEVROLET 2500 HD VEHICLES. THEY HAVE A BULLETIN TO CORRECT TO ELIMINATE, BUT DOES NOT WORK. PROBLEM WAS ADDRESSED AT 23213 MILES 7/23/2018, AND NOW AGAIN AT JUST UNDER 60,000 MILES SEPTEMBER 2019. PER CHEVROLET WARRANTY, THE AFFECTED PARTS SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE ENGINE EMISSION WARRANTY FOR 8 YEARS 80,000 MILES. CHEVROLET WARRANTY CLAIMING THIS COOLANT SENSOR IS COVERED BY THE 36,000 MILE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY. THIS ERROR MESSAGE COMES ON REPEATEDILY AN MAKES YOU HAVE TO STOP AND CHECK COOLANT LEVEL, WHICH IS OK, BUT MUST BE CHECKED. SENSOR IS BAD AND CHEVROLET WILL NOT COVER UNDER THE STATED WARRANTY AND STATES REPAIRS ARE IN EXCESS OF $600.00. I HAVE LEFT MESSAGES FOR A SUPERVISOR TO CALL ME, TO NO AVAIL. THE PROBLEM IS SO WIDE SPREAD, PARTS ARE ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER AND CHEVROLET IS AWARE OF THIS. I PERSONALLY BELIEVE THEY ARE TRYING TO AVOID A RECALL AND CONTROL THEIR FINANCIAL EXPOSURE BY TELLING CUSTOMERS THIS PART IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE CORRECT PORTION OF THEIR WARRANTY. THIS STARTED IN JULY 23, 2018 THROUGH CURRENT. COPIES OF WARRANTY INFORMATION WILL BE ATTACHED AS WELL AS PHOTO OF WARNING MESSAGE. THIS IS A CONSUMER EMERGENCY, MANY OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM.
SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON. CODE INDICATES PASS SEAT SIDE AIR BAG, HIGH RESISTANCE IN CONNECT X322, RECOMMEND NEW SEAT BACK AND SEAT BOTTOM HARNESS FOR PASSENGER FRONT SEAT SIDE AIR BAG CIRCUITS. WHY ISN'T THIS A SAFETY RECALL?????
JUST RECEIVED A LETTER FROM GENERAL MOTORS WITH A PAGE THAT IS TO BE INSERTED INTO MY OWNERS MANUAL. THE ISSUE IT PURPORTS TO SOLVE IS THAT THE MANUAL STATES THAT IF THIS TRUCK HAS FORWARD COLLISION ALERT, IT ALSO HAS FORWARD AUTOMATIC BRAKING & INTELLIGENT BRAKE ASSIST. THAT IS INCORRECT & THIS ALERT IS TO CORRECT THAT ERROR. BUT, THE MANUAL INSERT PROVIDED IS NONSENSE. IT HAS NO PAGE NUMBER TO TELL US WHERE TO INSERT THE NEW PAGE; THERE ARE 2 SECTIONS RELATING TO THIS IN THE MANUAL. THE INSERT ALSO SAYS IT ONLY APPLIES TO 1500 SERIES TRUCKS. MINE IS A 2500 SERIES. SO WHY SEND THIS. GM HAS MESSED THIS UP AND IT SEEMS TO ME YOU NEED TO CALL THEM ON IT TO PROVIDE CORRECT INSERTS FOR THE 2 MANUAL AREAS TO WHICH IT APPLIES. THAT SHOULD INCLUDE CORRECT INFORMATION AND PAGE NUMBERS. OTHERWISE THE MATERIAL I RECEIVED IS IRRELEVANT TO CORRECTING THE ORIGINAL ERROR. I AM A RETIRED GOVERNMENT PERFORMANCE AUDITOR, SO SERIOUS MISTAKES IN CORRECTING PROBLEMS CONCERN ME.

REAR WHEEL BEARING ADJUSTMENT NUT, STRIPPED THE THREADS AND BECAME LOSE, CAUSING ADDITIONAL DAMAGE TO THE BREAK ROTORS. IT ALSO CAUSED THE SEAL ON THE REAR AXLE TO LEAK. TOOK IN TO MECHANIC TO SEE WHY IT WAS LEAKING. MECHANIC WAS SURPRISED THAT I DIDN'T LOSE A REAR WHEEL. WILL PROVIDE PHOTOS FROM MECHANIC WHEN AVAILABLE.
