AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:PASSENGER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2007-2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500 and GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 vehicles equipped with non-desiccated, passenger frontal air bag inflators containing phase stabilized ammonium nitrate (PSAN) propellant that were used as interim remedy parts for previous Takata recalls. These inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflators, free of charge. The recall began February 11, 2020. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-866-522-9559. GM's number for this recall is N192290990.

The affected vehicles are equipped with a passenger side frontal air bag that may be susceptible to moisture intrusion which, over time, could cause the inflator to rupture upon its deployment.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began on July 27, 2015. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's numbers for this recall are 15438 and 15817.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2007-2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD 2500/3500 trucks manufactured January 18, 2007, to June 22, 2011, and GMC Sierra HD 2500/3500 trucks manufactured January 22, 2007, to June 21, 2011, and equipped with an auxiliary battery. Owners may unknowingly draw too much current through the vehicle's trailer harness resulting in the melting of fusible link for the auxiliary battery.
Remedy: GM will notify owners and dealers will replace the jumper harness with one that includes a 40 amp inline fuse, and provide the owner with supplemental Owner Manual information, free of charge. The recall began on August 29, 2014. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 14260.

The contact stated that while attempting to sell the vehicle to a dealer, the contact was informed that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the mileage was 298,649. However, a Carfax history report confirmed an inconsistent report. The mileage was recorded at 259,054 on December 13, 2021, and later the mileage was 232,705 on April 26, 2022. The selling dealer was notified of the mileage discrepancy but denied financial compensation or a resolution.

I NOTICED A PUDDLE UNDER TRUCK ON 4-5-2020. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO RICHARDSON CHEVROLET IN STANDISH ON 4-6-2020 FOR AN OIL CHANGE. THEY CHANGED THE OIL AND I WAS TOLD MY BRAKE LINES WERE LEAKING AND ALL NEEDED REPLACING WITH AN ESTIMATE OF $1,400. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE TRUCK. IT WAS OUT OF WINTER CONDITIONS FOR 5 YEARS AS WE LIVED OUT OF STATE.

MY HUSBAND HAS HAD 3 WRECKS IN THIS VEHICLE ANYWHERE FROM 5-10 MILES PER HOUR UP TO 85+ MPH AND NOT ONCE HAS ANY AIRBAG WENT OFF! 2 WERE DEER HITS AND THE LOW MPH WAS ANOTHER CAR. I BELIEVE THAT GOING 85+ MPH IN ANY VEHICLE SHOULD SEND THE AIRBAGS TO SET OFF. WE WERE COMING BACK FROM AMARILLO TX PULLING A TRAILER BEHIND AND A DEER JUMPED OUT IN FRONT OF US HITTING US IN THE RADIATOR AND TRANNY COOLER SYSTEM. WE HAD OUR SEAT BELTS ON AND ONLY INJURIES WAS JUST ADDED HERNIATED DISKS IN MY BACK. THE BODY SHOP WE TOOK IT TO IS NO LONGER IN SERVICE BUT OUR INSURANCE CO AT THE TIME IS STILL OPEN. I WILL CONTACT THEM AND GET THE INFO NEEDED. I HAD A 2005 FORD FUSION AND WRECKED IT ONLY DOING 12 MPH AND EVERY AIRBAG WENT OFF WHEN THE STEERING WENT OUT AND I LOST CONTROL AND HIT A 12 FT BANK OF GROUND. MY SUSPENSION WENT 8 INCHES OUT THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF IMPACT AS WELL AS ALL AIRBAGS. I BELIEVE THE AIR BAG IN OUR 2007 2500HD IS A DANGER TO US EVERYDAY! I DON'T KNOW WHAT COMPANY HAS THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE AIRBAGS NOT GOING OFF BUT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE AIRBAGS IN THIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BROMIN CHEVROLET IN BROMIN, FLORIDA WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

DASHBOARD IS CRACKED IN 2 PLACES AROUND AIR BAG AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER...
THE DASH BOARD IS CRACKED FROM FRONT TO CORNER OF AIRBAG COVER AND MIDDLE FRONT TO DASH BOARD. WILL THIS AFFECT THE AIR BAG UPON DEPLOYMENT?
THE DASH RIGHT NEXT TO THE CORNER OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG HAS CRACKED AND LOOKS LIKE IT COULD EFFECT THE OPERATION OF THE AIRBAG IN CASE OF DEPLOYMENT. THE CRACK BECAME WORSE AFTER HAVING THE AIRBAG INFLATOR REPLACED RECENTLY AS PART OF A DIFFERENT RECALL. ADDITIONAL CRACKS HAVE APPEARED IN OTHER PLACES ON THE DASH SINCE THE CRACK BY THE AIRBAG FIRST APPEARED.
AS MANY OTHER 07-11 MODEL GMC AND CHEVROLET VEHICLE OWNERS HAVE REPORTED, MY DASH HAS ALSO CRACKED IN TWO PLACES ON MY 2007 CHEVROLET 2500HD LTZ. MY DASH CRACKED ABOVE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. NOW THE CRACKS ARE GETTING LONGER AND AFFECTING OTHER DASH PANELS AND MAKING ANNOYING RATTLE NOISES. GMC AND CHEVROLET ARE OBVIOUSLY AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND ARE TRYING TO PAWN IT OFF ON OWNER IRRESPONSIBILITY WHEN IT IS OBVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. THIS DEFECT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS I SEE IT. IF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG GOES OFF IT CAN SEND SHARDS OF BROKEN PLASTIC DASHBOARD THROUGH THE INSIDE OF THE TRUCK CAUSING OCCUPANT INJURY. GMC AND CHEVROLET NEED TO REALIZE THIS AND OFFER A RECALL TO CORRECT THE ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT. THEY WILL WISH THEY DID WHEN IT HAPPENS. GMC AND CHEVROLET SURE HAVE GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE WHEN YOU ARE PURCHASING ONE OF THEIR VEHICLES. HOWEVER, THE MOMENT YOU HAVE A PROBLEM AND NEED THEIR HELP THEY ARE QUICK TO GIVE YOU THE RUN-AROUND AND TELL YOU THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO HELP YOU. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER GMC OR CHEVROLET AGAIN.
