The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V054000 (Air Bags); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. An unknown local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

LT295/65R20 Two Nitto Grappler G2 which were on the rear of my truck, the internal belts of the tire have separated, causing a buckle of the tire. The separation caused a bouncing rough ride. This is a safety issue when riding the vehicle and I believe eventually it would have blown. The two tires were replaced by Discount Tire under my extended warranty that I purchased with the tires. I did contact Nitto Tire and attempted to have them replace the remaining front tires, I believe they will be separating very soon. Nitto refused to replace the tires, due to the tires being over 5 years old. The tires are not worn and have 11/32’s thread. I believe Nitto has a problem with the tires separating and should be addressed.
Cp4 failure, left me stranded and cost me 11k in repairs. 69k miles on truck 6,427.40$ for the Bosh disaster kit. Plus additional fluids, gaskets, ect that are not included. And 3900$ in labor. This cost me little under 11k. I have full invoice at total performance diesel at 300 west robles ave, Santa Rosa. This really affects my life. And it’s a common thing for the cp4 pump. 7,500$ deposit and 2,698.38$ was my final payment.
When pulling out into busy traffic the TCM quit and lost all power to the wheels. Could not move. Luckily the traffic seen we had a issue and swerved to go around us. We found out later this has been a huge issue for GM with TCM on units like mine. If traffic would not have been paying attention they would have hit us and caused injuries to my family and probably theirs. Glad we were not pulling out onto a highway with high speed traffic.
TCM failed. Vehicle is at the dealership awaiting new part for over three months now. Continue to get extended ETA on the part, latest communication was maybe November before it ships. Last vehicle dealership had took a year for the replacement TCM Vehicle immediately went into ‘limp mode’ on highway, was very unsafe because could only go 20-25mph. Confirmed by dealer upon them working on pickup it was the TCM. They, as well as we researched, and found stated that this is widespread problem in 2011-2016 year Duramaxes. We were left vehicleless. We tow trailers for our business and fifth wheel camper for personal use. Very detrimental to our livelihood.
The fuel pump has put metal shaving all through my fuel system and It is available for inspection if anyone is interested in taking a look at it. It made my truck die in the middle of the highway. It put me and a lot of others in danger! AutoNation Chevrolet seen and confirmed and said it was because the cp4 fuel pump isn’t compatible with my truck and that a class action was just granted over this in 5 states. The Chevrolet dealership inspected the component. Only light that came on was change fuel filter and I got it changed just a day or two before it died on me.

Transmission Control Module Failed on the highway while towing and left me and family in a dangerous situation.
The system that failed was the CP4.2. The Cp4 is a defect that has failed; in the failure it has been ground down and it pushed metal shavings through the fuel system and it has also clogged the injectors. The failure of this system left me in a hazardous position in the middle of the highway. I could not turn or break because there was no power to my vehicle because it was not getting any fuel.
Stopped on a level surface, at a fuel station/bathroom stop, 6 year old granddaughter in booster seat behind driver in back seat. The seat belt was released and retracted tight over the booster seat arm rest and would not release to allow child out of the seat and child began to panic, had to cut seatbelt to get upset child out!

I was driving on an unpaved maintained road at night and heard a loud bang and bright flash came to a stop and realized I couldn't see out of the door windows. The side curtain bags deployed. I took it into rich ford no damage was found to any sensors or to the truck. Noone wants to replace the bags or damaged interior and insurance won't file a claim due to no damage to truck.

While I was pulling my trailer up a grade on my 2014 Chevy Silverado 2500HD diesel truck, the fuel pump had catastrophic failure resulting in total loss of power. I had to unsafely maneuver to the shoulder of the 10 freeway west near Cabazon, CA and exit the truck near high speed traffic. I was lucky to make it to the shoulder without getting run over by the trucks in the slow lane. Had to wait hours for a tow and now have a roughly $10k repair bill. This is a known issue with the Bosch CP4 fuel pumps that Ford and GM refuse to address. Ram/Stellantis recalled their diesel trucks for 2019 and 2020 using this fuel pump. Dealer has confirmed total failure of the Bosch CP4 high pressure fuel pump as the reason for total loss of power. No warning signs whatsoever, just immediate loss of power while traveling 55 mph.

the Silverado 2500hd and I think 3500 work duty pickups some don't come with a stabilizer damper for steering my 2014 work truck with only 19k miles has a shake so bad you can't drive on the highway, I first noticed the shimmer at 2 yrs the deal did alignments and said they could not find what caused it, now I took the truck in for check engine on an o2 sensor they said catalytic converter went bad and it needed alignment so I said yes to the o2 sensor and alignment then I leave the check engine light pops on and when trying to drive over 35 mph the steering wheel violently shakes back and worth, I talked to a commercial tech he said the stabilizer always goes bad on these and so does all the youtube videos but some videos show that some trucks have a stabilizer and some don't, but do have the mounting holes.

WHILE DRIVING FROM MICHIGAN INTO NEW YORK TO DELIVER AN RV TO A DEALERSHIP MY TRUCK EXPERIENCED A FUEL DEFICIENCY AND STALLED WHILE TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY. I FIRST THOUGHT IT WAS THE FUEL FILTER BUT THAT DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE AND IN TOWING IT INTO A SERVICE SHOP THEY DETERMINED THE BOSCH CP4 FUEL PUMP HAD QUIT DUE TO METAL SHAVINGS WHICH RESULTED IN THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THIS COST ME OVER $15,000. IT'S MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS PUMP IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE FUEL IN THE UNITED STATES AND THERE HAS BEEN A CLASS ACTION SUIT FILED IN TEXAS. IT IS ALSO MY UNDERSTANDING THAT GM TRIED TO HAVE THE CASE DISMISSED BUT THE TEXAS JUDGE DID NOT ALLOW FOR A DISMISSAL. I HAVE SEVERAL COPIES OF REPAIR AND TRAVEL EXPENSES RELATED TO THIS ISSUE AS WELL AS LOST INCOME AS I USE MY TRUCK FOR DELIVERIES. I WILL PROVIDE COPIES OF THESE WHEN NECESSARY AS MY SCANNER IS NOT CURRENTLY WORKING. THIS ISSUE SHOULD DEFINITELY BE CONSIDERED AS A RECALL ISSUE AS THIS IS A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR NOT TO MENTION THE DANGER OF THE FUEL SYSTEM QUITTING UNEXPECTEDLY.
WHILE TRANSPORTING MY 27FT CAMPER TO CAMPGROUND, MULTIPLE TIME DURING TRANSPORTATION THE BREAKS HAD TO BE PUSHED CLEAR TO THE FLOOR AND WERE NOT ACTIVATING BREAK SYSTEM! VERY SCARY!! ALSO HAPPENED AGAIN AFTER RETURNING HOME AND NO CAMPER ATTACHED WHILE ON VERY WINDING AND STEEP ROUTE!!
SINCE OWNING THIS TRUCK BRAND NEW IN 2014 I HAVE REPLACED BOTH DRIVERS SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE FRONT HEAD LAMPS A MULTITUDE OF TIMES. TOO MANY TO COUNT. SOMETIMES THEY LAST A COUPLE MONTHS, SOMETIMES LONGER. THIS IS ABSURD.
I HAVE SEVERAL DTC CODES U029D U029E P0420 P220B ON THREE OCCASIONS. THESE CODE ARE TRIGGERING A LIMITED SPEED AND POSSIBLE POWER REDUCTION. THE DEALER SHIP STATES THAT GMC PROTOCOL IS TO REPLACE ONE SENSOR AT A TIME AND LET THE CUSTOMER GO SO THEY CAN BREAKDOWN AGAIN. THE PART THAT IS FAILING I AM TOLD IS THE DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER, BUT GMC CAN NOT SUPPLY THE DEALERSHIPS WITH THE HIGH DEMAND. THIS SEEMS LIKE A FAULTY DESIGN THAT MAY WORK DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD, BUT SHORTY FAILS AFTER. I DID REPORT EXHAUST SMELL IN THE TRUCK WHILE DRIVING . I WAS GIVEN A REPORT AND A LARGE REPAIR BILL ONLY TO BREAKDOWN IN 126 MILES.

AIR COMPRESSOR MALFUNCTION. DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT AT AROUND FIVE MILES AN HOUR AND HEARD A STRANGE SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE. BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO A COMPLETE STOP AND SOUND STOPPED (LIKE A POP). DROVE ABOUT 200 FEET AND THE CABIN BEGAN TO FILL WITH SMOKE. DROVE THE CAR TO A PARKING LOT. ALL THE GAUGES WHERE NORMAL. TOOK TO A MECHANIC AND HE REPLACED THE BAND BUT SAID THAT IT WAS THE AIR COMPRESSOR (MOTOR). HE SAID THIS SHOULDN'T HAPPEN IN A TRUCK THIS NEW. HE RECOMMENDED CHECKING FOR ANY RECALLS. PRIOR TO THIS THERE WHERE NO ISSUES.
AT SLOW SPEEDS WHEN BACKING UP THE STEERING WHEEL GET HARD AND THEN LOOSEND UP. MOVING FORWARD AND MAKING A TURN THE STEERING WHEEL GET HARD AGAIN AND THEN LOOSENDS UP. IT BECOMES A STRUGGLE TO TURN GET HARD AND THEN LOOSENDS UP. THIS STARTED HAPPENING AT 30000 MILES AND CONTINUES. THIS PROBLEM IS VERY UNSAFE IF THAT STEERING DOES NOT LOOSEN UP AT HIGHER SPEEDS IT COULD MEAN DEATH AND INJURIES TO OTHER PARTIES. THIS PROBLEM HAS CONTINUED TO HAPPEN TO US OVER 15 TIMES. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW OF THE LOT, IM THE ONLY OWNER.
I BOUGHT MY 2014 CHEVY K2500 DURMAX DIESEL 4X4 I BOUGHT IT UNDER THE IMPRESSION I WAS TOLD IT WOULD GET REALLY GOOD GAS MILEAGE AND ITS HORRIBLE THE SALESMAN SAID THE NEW REQUIREMENTS THAT GM DONE TO THE EXHAUST AND FUEL THE GOV. REQUIRED WAS TO HELP ON POLLUTION AND FUEL MILEAGE. THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO THE FUEL ECONOMY IS HORRIBLE.

FUEL INJECTION PUMP NAME APART INTERNALLY CRACKING CASE SPRAYING FUEL ON HOT ENGINE WHILE DRIVING DOWN ROAD, ALSO SENDING METAL PIECES THROUGH FUEL SYSTEM TO INJECTORS MAKING THEM USELESS AND NEEDING REPLACED. THE TCM MALFUNCTIONED. AFTER BEING REPLACED THE VEHICLE STILL DIDN'T PERFORM AS IT DID BEFORE THE REPAIR. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE WITH ALL CHEVROLET TRUCKS FROM VARIOUS YEARS. THERE ARE MULTIPLE BLOGS FROM OWNERS OF THESE TRUCKS THAT SHOW THE EXTENT OF THE ISSUE. I CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY $ 1000.00 TO FIX A PROBLEM THAT GM KNOWS THAT HAS EXISTED FOR YEARS. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM IF YOU ARE DRIVING AND THE TRUCK LOOSES POWER; ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU'RE GOING DOWN HILL TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND YOUR TRANSMISSION DOESN'T FUNCTION PROPERLY. I HAVE HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPAIRED AND THE ISSUE PERSISTS; IT SEEMS AS THOUGH GM WANTS OWNERS TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. SOME MAY NOT AND THIS COULD LEAD TO UNSAFE TRUCKS BEING ON THE ROAD. THANK YOU.

WHILE TURNING LOW SPEED(USUALLY LEFT) POWER STEERING WOULD STOP WORKING. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT A DOZEN TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2015. I HAVE TAKEN TO THE CHEVROLET DEALER ON (3) OCCASIONS(SUBURBAN AUTO GROUP IN SANDY OREGON. TAG NUMBER ON FIRST VISIT IS #2288, 2ND VISIT #3639, 3RD VISIT #4698. THEY HAVE RECALLED 2014 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500 FOR THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AS I AM EXPERIENCING. I WOULD HOPE THAT YOU LOOK AT THE SILVERADO 2500 WITH THE SAME SCRUTINY. THE DEALER WANTS ME TO START REPLACING PARTS AT MY COST TO REPAIR A VEHICLE I BELIEVE TO BE DEFECTIVE.
TEMPORARY LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHEN ATTEMPTING TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL AT A LOW SPEED (I.E. BACKING INTO A PARKING SPACE, MAKING A LOW SPEED TURN INTO A GARAGE).
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, THE STABILITRAK LIGHT COMES ON AND THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF. WITHIN SECONDS THE ENGINE RESTARTS. THE MOST COMMON OCCURRENCE IS WHEN TRAVELING ON BUMPY ROADS. WHEN THIS HAPPENS AT FREEWAY SPEEDS, THE SAME WILL HAPPEN, AND THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL DISCONNECT, AND CANNOT BE RESET UNTIL AROUND 30 MINUTES. AGAIN, THE ENGINE WILL DIE AND IMMEDIATELY RESTART. THIS IS HAPPENING MUCH MORE FREQUENTLY LATELY. THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 95,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER.

NOTHING HAPPENED TO MY VEHICLE. I WANT TO REPORT THE ACTIONS OF A TRUCKER WHILE ON A TRIP TO NY TO VISIT RELATIVES. WE WERE DRIVING ON 95N IN THE PASSING LANE. A TRACTOR/TRAILER CAME ROLLING UPON US, BLOWING THE HORN FOR US TO GET IN THE SLOW LANE. WE MOVED TO THE SLOW LANE, THE TRUCK PASSED, GIVING MY HUSBAND THE FINGER AS HE DROVE BY, THEN ATTEMPTED TO RUN US OFF THE ROAD. HE SWERVED HIS VEHICLE TOWARDS OURS, CAUSING US TO SWERVE TO THE RIGHT. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO OUR VEHICLE, BUT THIS INDIVIDUAL WAS DRIVING EXTREMELY RECKLESS AND ATTEMPTING TO RUN US OFF THE ROAD IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS A PETERBILT, PENNSYLVANIA LICENSE TAG # PT821A1. THE NAME ON THE SIDE OF THE TRUCK WAS "LEE'S EXCAVATING" AND THERE WAS A REBEL FLAG COVERING THE ENTIRE FRONT OF THE TRUCK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, A BURNING ODOR EMITTED INTO THE VEHICLE. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE GRAVEL GUARD AROUND THE FUEL TANK WAS ON FIRE. THE CONTACT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE BY POURING WATER ON THE FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,030.

SHIFTED TRUCK INTO REVERSE WHILE PLOWING MY DRIVEWAY, TRUCK MADE A LARGE SNAP SOUND IN FRONT END AND WOULDN'T MOVE - OIL WAS DISPERSED ALL OVER THE GROUND. IN THE END - FRONT YOKE BROKE, CAUSING DRIVE SHAFT TO HIT OIL FILTER AND BUSTING IT OFF. TRUCK WAS UNDER WARRANTY SO NO COST BUT THIS IS DANGEROUS. HAD I BEEN MOVING THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A TRUCK TO FLIP END FOR END. *TR

ON OCTOBER 21, 2014 THE ENTIRE FUSE PANEL MELTED DOWN AND CAUGHT FIRE. THE TRUCK HAD STOPPED RUNNING. THE HOOD WAS ABLE TO BE RAISED AND THE FIRE WAS PUT OUT WITH FIRE EXTINGUISHER. THE TRUCK WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. GM HAS TAKEN NO RESPONSIBILITY IN THE REPAIR OF THIS VEHICLE. MY INSURANCE COMPANY HAS AGREED TO PAY THE REPAIR BILL. THE CLAIM 048186-GB HAS BEEN SENT TO GM FOR REPAYMENT. I STRONGLY FEEL THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT BY GM. THERE IS ALSO A SAFETY RECALL ISSUED FOR THIS VEHICLE #14515 WHICH I BELIEVE IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE INCIDENT THAT HAPPENED TO MY TRUCK. TO THIS DAY THE TRUCK IS STILL AT THE REPAIR SHOP WAITING ON PARTS. *TR
