Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed on February 25, 2021. Second notification letters will be mailed once the remedy is available. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2009-2014 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD, 2009 GMC Topkick 5000, 6000, 7000 and 8000 Series and Isuzu F Series, and 2009-2018 Chevrolet Express, and GMC Savana vehicles, equipped with certain Plastic-Handle Fire Extinguishers or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Remedy: GM will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde to get a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began June 11, 2018. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2007-2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD 2500/3500 trucks manufactured January 18, 2007, to June 22, 2011, and GMC Sierra HD 2500/3500 trucks manufactured January 22, 2007, to June 21, 2011, and equipped with an auxiliary battery. Owners may unknowingly draw too much current through the vehicle's trailer harness resulting in the melting of fusible link for the auxiliary battery.

Remedy: GM will notify owners and dealers will replace the jumper harness with one that includes a 40 amp inline fuse, and provide the owner with supplemental Owner Manual information, free of charge. The recall began on August 29, 2014. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 14260.

as mentioned by many customers the dash on the vehicles crack and GM refuses to pay for repairs. Now there is a Airbag recall that needs to be completed and I am told by dealer that the dash will crack more and get worse during the repair and they are not responsible for the damage. This is unacceptable and unsafe as it is costing me and consumers more money for a defective product.

Engine suddenly stopped running while driving and could not be restarted. It was towed to a local diesel repair shop. Diagnostics showed a catastrophic failure of the high pressure fuel pump which polluted the complete fuel system with metal.

With all the known issues involving the failing CP4 fuel pumps out in the field, why hasn't there been a nationwide recall on this issue? We're being proactive in getting our LML repaired to save our engine. We want our costs reimbursed. This isn't a "small" matter. It's freakin' huge.

The transmission control module (TCM) began acting erratic. At times the transmission will not shift but several times it has gone into park( with no warning) when slowing down causing the wheels to lock and the truck skids to a stop. I was nearly in 2 accidents when this happened. Both time I was hauling a load and caused the traffic behind me have to swerve to not run into me. In looking into the issue I found that in 2011 GM had put out a shop notice that they had a known problem with the TCM and they thought it might be caused by a non-OEM fan belt causing electrical discharge that might impact the TCM. A second shop notice from GM stated that the issue was due to heat and since they has mounted the unit on the fan shroud it should be moved. But none of the shops I went to knew about these shop notices from GM. Thousands of TCMS have failed but no recall. GM has now greatly reduced production of replacement modules and the cost of a new TCM has gone from $400 to $5000 ( Plus programing ) and a long wait time to get one. You can get one refurbished for $1200.

It is a transmission control module wear a lobster transmission into a Garin. Will not let you speed up or speed down and it is unsafe and GM IS making us pay for the bill. The contact stated transmission control module all across the country on back order, you cannot get a dealer to get you one within six months GM should have to do something about this.

The vehicle started to shift on its own mostly between the upper gears even though terrain or load had not changed. At slower speeds the vehicle started to automatically shift into park and lock up the wheels. This caused a very serious risk of injury to me and the people behind me when it would lock up. After stopping the vehicle sometimes does not move when in drive. There are no warning lights Took it to a shop and they checked it over. I was informed that there is a known issue with the electronic transmission control unit (TCM) for the Allison Transmission. The issue is with the location of the TCM. GM has developed a new unit to replace the original TCM that is engineered to no be affected by this. But due to the demand GM has a back order on the new TCM. The cost to get a TCM has risen from $800 dollars to $5000 dollars if you can find one.

GM is aware of a known failure in their Transmission Control Modules. My part number is 24256670. My truck has 87,000 miles on it and not drivable due to this failed electronic component. There are thousands of people just like me experiencing this issue. Check engine light illuminates once unit gets hot. Multiple codes will display at this time. This happened at a stop light, causing traffic jam and congestion, unnecessary safety infringement on all i affected.

My truck has been at a dealership since May 31st , 2022. It needs a TCM. While researching , plus calling aftermarket parts suppliers(Auto zone and others) , and also calling auto recycling/salvages yards , there are Zero TCM's available unless you get lucky at a auto salvage yard minutes after a wrecked truck shows up. There is a huge issue with the TCM's failing on these 10 year old trucks , and GM refuses to allow their supplier to make replacement TCM's. I have lost the use of my truck for almost 6 months at this point. I would also like to know how many other customers are waiting for a TCM.

The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the parts to do the repair were on back order. The manufacture was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a case number but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V050000 (Air Bags) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer for recall repair. However, after damaging the passenger's side dashboard where the front passenger's side air bag was located, the dealer informed the contact that they had ordered the wrong part and he should bring the vehicle back another time for the recall repair. Additionally, the dealer informed the contact that the dashboard would be replaced. The contact stated upon taking the vehicle back to the dealer for recall repair, the dealer stated that the recall repair would not be completed unless he signed a waiver certifying that they were not liable for damage to the dashboard. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 161,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

Fuel pump fuse socket has melted in addition to fuse being blown. Fuel pump had been replaced twice with OEM fuel pump. Entire fuse box must be replaced. Occasionally, a no start condition can be traced to fuse contacts losing conductivity which can be resolved by removing them reinstalling fuse. Has potential of causing electrical fire

Vehicle had a recall for airbag. After the vehicle was taken for the recall the dashboard is cracked. This dashboard issue needs to be fixed. It's outrageous if GM is not held accountable.

POOR QUALITY, SHARP PIECES OF BROKEN DASH AROUND PASSENGER AIRBAG. CRACK EXTENDS TO RADIO. CHEAP PLASTIC PARTS SHAME ON GM FOR NOT RECALLING THIS. MY 09 F-150 HAS NO CRACKS OR POOR QC. THIS TRUCK IS NOT SAFE IN THE EVENT OF A COLLISION ANYONE DRIVING IT SHOULD WEAR OSHA RATED SAFETY GLASSES.

I PLUGGED IN MY CODE READER TO THE VEHICLE AND IT GAVE ME A CODE READING 'P20B9 REDUCTANT HEATER A CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN'. FROM WHAT I COULD RESEARCH ONLINE THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON ISSUE IN THESE LML DIESEL TRUCKS WITH THE DEF SYSTEM.

WHILE DRIVING IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH ON I 95, MY 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500 STALLED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE I WAS IN THE FAR LEFT PASSING LANE. NO POWER STEERING OR POWER BRAKES MADE IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL WHILE MOVING THROUGH 4 LANES OF TRAFFIC TO GET TO THE SHOULDER. I WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO A GARAGE. I WAS INFORMED THE CP4 FUEL INJECTION PUMP HAD FAILED AND REPAIRS WILL BE IN EXCESS OF $8,000 BECAUSE THE ENTIRE FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM WAS CONTAMINATED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.

I HAVE A 2011 CHEVY 2500. 6.6 TURBO DIESEL AT 136K MILES. MY DEF HEATER JUST WENT OUT AND MY DEALERSHIP SAID IT'S ONLY UNDER WARRANTY UNTIL 120K MILES. PURCHASED A VEHICLE FROM DAVE SMITH MOTORS ON OCT 7,2019 AND THE REAR SEAT BELTS DO T MATCH OR OPERATE AFTER BEING TOLD IT WENT THROUGH A 125 POINT INSPECTION AND ON THEIR SITE SAYS SEATBELTS ARE INSPECTED AND I HAVE UNOPERATIONAL SEAT BELTS WHICH IS A SAFTEY HAZARD ON THEIR PART AS THEY SOLD A VEHICLE WITH UNMATCHED AND OPERATIONAL SAFTEY BELTS.

ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2019, I WAS ATTEMPTING TO EXIT MY VEHICLE WHEN I PULLED THE DOOR HANDLE ONLY TO HAVE IT BREAK OFF IN MY HAND. I WENT TO REACH TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANYTHING LEFT TO PULL TO OPEN THE DOOR ONLY TO FIND THE HANDLE HAD BROKEN OFF CLEANLY FROM THE MECHANISM, LEAVING NO OTHER WAY TO EXIT THE VEHICLE OTHER THAN ROLLING DOWN THE WINDOW AND OPENING THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE THROUGH THE WINDOW OR BY SLIDING ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE VEHICLE TO EXIT THROUGH THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. IMMEDIATELY I THOUGHT THAT IF THIS HAD BEEN AN EMERGENCY, SUCH AS A FIRE OR WRECK, I WOULD PROBABLY NOT BE ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE IN A SAFE AND TIMELY MANNER, RISKING FURTHER INJURY OR DEATH. I CALLED MY LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP TO INQUIRE ABOUT A REPLACEMENT HANDLE & MECHANISM, ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT THIS IS A COMMON AND SYSTEMIC PROBLEM WITH MOST GM VEHICLES. I VIEW THIS AS A SAFETY CONCERN MORE THAN JUST A NORMAL MAINTENANCE OR REPAIR ISSUE, SIMILAR TO THE SAFETY CONCERN OF A COMMERCIAL AIRCRAFT'S DOOR NOT OPENING IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY EXIT DURING AN ACCIDENT. GM, FORD, DODGE, AND ALL AUTOMOBILE MAKERS SHOULD ENSURE THAT A COMMON OR SYSTEMIC PROBLEM WITH A SAFETY ITEM, SUCH AS AN EXIT DOOR, SHOULD BE CORRECTED TO AVOID DANGEROUS CONDITIONS. THANK YOU.

THE INFO I'M GETTING WHEN I SEARCH THE DATABASE FOR RECALLS IS AS FOLLOWS: RECALL STATUS: INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE. AN ARTICLE IN TRAILER LIFE (MAY, 2019) IDENTIFIED THAT THE BOSCH CP4.2 HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL-INJECTION PUMP IS SUBJECT TO CATASTROPHIC FAILURE. IT POINTS OUT THIS IS A COMMON FAILURE, A DESIGN ISSUE AND WILL COST MANY $1000'S TO REPAIR. IT HAS BEEN CALLED A "FATAL FLAW". IT SHOULD BE REPLACED WITH A UNIT THAT IS RELIABLE BY THE MANUFACTURER IF THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. MICHIGAN S&S MOTORSPORT STATES THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND IS COMMON TO 2011 TO 2016 DURAMAX DIESEL SILVERADOS USING THE BOSCH CP4.2 FUEL-INJECTION PUMP.

I HAVE A 2011 2500HD WITH THE WELL KNOWN CRACK AT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. IF I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT PART OF THE FACT COULD BECOME PROJECTILES AND HURT SOMEONE IN THE THE VEHICLE.

I WAS TRAVELING TO WORK IN THE FAST LANE OF THE FREEWAY WHEN I HEARD A FAINT SQUEALING NOISE AND THE TRUCK SUDDENLY STARTED RUNNING ROUGH. I BEGAN CROSSING ALL 4 LANES AND BY THE TIME I MADE IT TO THE THE SLOW LANE THE TRUCK COMPLETELY DIED. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY COAST OFF OF THE FREEWAY DUE TO MY QUICK REACTION AND LACK OF TRAFFIC AT THE TIME, BUT THE SITUATION WAS VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH MORE SO WITH HEAVIER TRAFFIC OR A LESS AWARE DRIVER. LATER DIAGNOSIS AT THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THE CP4 FUEL PUMP DISINTEGRATED INSIDE. AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE DIESEL TECHNICIAN AT THE DEALER I LEARNED THAT IT IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND THE REPAIR COMES WITH A $10,000 PRICE TAG. I WAS ALSO VERY SURPRISED THAT THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM AND GM CONTINUED TO USE THEM UNTIL 2017...7 YEARS! MY TRUCK IS A 2011 WITH ONLY 54K MILES, AND THEY JUST FIXED A 2017 WITH ONLY 7K MILES! I HAVE SINCE DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH FINDING HUNDREDS OF LOW MILEAGE GM DURAMAX DIESEL BETWEEN 2011-2017 WITH THE EXACT SAME FAILURE. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE BOTTOM OF THE FAILURE ITSELF AND I FOUND THE FOLLOWING...THE BOSCH CP4 FUEL PUMPS THAT WERE USED IN THESE TRUCKS (ALSO FOUND IN LATE FORD AND VW DIESELS) ARE MADE IN EUROPE TO DIFFERENT SPECIFICATIONS. THE PUMPS RELY ON LUBRICANT FOUND IN DIESEL #1 TO OPERATE SMOOTHLY AND LAST A LONG TIME. HERE IN THE U.S. WE ONLY HAVE DIESEL #2 WHICH LACKS THAT LUBRICANT AND CAUSES THE INTERNAL PARTS OF THE PUMP TO DISINTEGRATE SENDING METAL SHAVINGS THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM. THIS IS WHY THE REPAIR AVERAGES $10,000 ACROSS THE COUNTRY, THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM BECOMES CONTAMINATED AND HAS TO BE REPLACED. I CONTACTED GM AND THEY DON'T BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. A VEHICLE SUDDENLY DIEING WITH SECONDS NOTICE ON THE FREEWAY IS CERTAINLY A SAFETY ISSUE IN MY EYES. ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S A COMMON FAILURE THAT CAN BE PREVENTED.
