Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. The wiring harness for the rearview camera and the center brake light may short circuit, which can disable the rearview camera image and center brake light. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 111, "Rear Visibility" and 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Remedy: Dealers replaced the harness for the center brake light and rearview camera and/or the spare tire carrier/harness assembly, as necessary, free of charge. All vehicles were repaired by January 15, 2024. Owner notification letters were mailed September 26, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Jeep Gladiator and 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. The instrument panel cluster may experience an internal short circuit and fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, "Controls and Displays."
Remedy: Dealers will replace the instrument panel cluster, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed between October 3, 2024, and January 23, 2025. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is 30B.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the clutch assembly and update the software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed from November 16, 2023 through July 25, 2024. Remedy: FCA US LLC will notify owners, and dealers will add software to reduce engine torque capability when clutch assembly temperatures rise to a level that may damage the inner pressure plate, free of charge." FCA has ordered a stop sale for the affected vehicles as of February 25, 2021. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 4, 2021.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2020 Jeep Gladiator and Jeep Cherokee, 2019-2020 Ram 1500 Pickup, Ram 2500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Pickup, Chrysler Pacifica, Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler, and Jeep Renegade and 2019 Dodge Challenger vehicles equipped with 8.4" or 12" radio displays. A software error can cause the rearview camera image to remain displayed after the vehicle has been shifted out of reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rearview Mirrors."
Remedy: Chrysler has notified owners, and dealers will update the radio display software, free of charge. Optionally, owners can choose to remotely update their software via an Over-The-Air (OTA) update available as of May 1, 2020. The recall began April 27, 2020. Instrument panel cluster dashboard failure, found a massive recall online for Wranglers 2018-2024 for this issue, called dealer who informed us our VIN was not under this recall, but we have a Wranger 2019 with the same issue so should definitely qualify. Called JEEP who informed us our VIN was not under this recall and they won’t do anything about it. This issue is deemed a SAFETY HAZZARD per recall, and we do qualify but they say our VIN specifically does not. This has to be illegal as well as unsafe. Unable to see mileage, gas, safety alerts, etc. because of outage.

RE: Safety Concern – Instrument Cluster Failure Consistent with NHTSA Recall 24V-652 Dear Sir or Madam: Regarding our 2019 jeep wrangler vin# Milage of 74602.9 on 3-22-26 We are writing to report a safety-related defect involving a 2019 Jeep vehicle exhibiting instrument cluster malfunction consistent with conditions described in NHTSA Recall No. 24V-652 (FCA US LLC). Although this vehicle is not currently included within the recall’s identified VIN population, it is exhibiting substantially similar symptoms, including: Intermittent loss of speedometer function Tachometer irregularities Intermittent or complete failure of the instrument cluster display Recall 24V-652 identifies a defect in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) which may result in loss of critical driver information. As recognized by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, such failures may increase the risk of a crash due to the driver’s inability to accurately monitor vehicle speed and operating conditions. Given the similarity between the observed condition and the defect described in the recall, this raises a concern that the issue may extend beyond the currently defined VIN range. Accordingly, we request: A formal review of this vehicle for potential inclusion within Recall 24V-652 or any related service campaign; and Appropriate corrective action consistent with applicable safety and warranty obligations. We will also be submitting this matter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for further review. Please advise regarding next steps. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was a misfire coming from the engine, and there was a backfire coming from the exhaust system. Additionally, there was a coolant intrusion in cylinder #3 and a burning in the head gasket. The contact stated that the engine overheated and the vehicle failed to restart after it was turned off. The catastrophic engine failure was attributed to coolant intrusion into the combustion chamber, which caused severe internal damage. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where the engine was being replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000.

Jeep Wranglers in the older/early models had aluminum steering steering boxes that would have excessive play do to thermal expansion. Jeep never made it recall but did provide a TSB NUMBER: 08-074-20 REV. B GROUP: 08- Electrical DATE: September 26, 2020. The TSB would recommend the aluminum steering box be replaced with a steel one. The issue is that many dealers refused to do the fix/change parts for free under or out of warranty. Its clearly an issue as later/newer models of the Jeep JL Wrangler started shipping with the steel steering box.

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 MPH, the contact experienced the death wobble, and the vehicle started shaking violently. There was no warning light illuminated. The driver was able to maintain control of the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to exceed 50 MPH without the failure recurring. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that the track bar had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was also taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the track bar had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 84,000.

Since new Jeep has experienced "excess play in the steering" the Jeeps steering "wanders" and vehicle pulls to both the left and right. Steering wandering increases in hot temperatures and at higher speeds and becomes UNSAFE to operate the vehicle. When purchasing new, I noticed the "excess play in the steering", but was told by the Jeep salesperson that "that's how Jeeps drive" and "They do not drive like typical passenger vehicles". I did not take my Jeep in for service for this issue because the salesperson told me that this is how the vehicle is designed to drive. However, I recently found out that Jeep issued a Technical Service Bulletin #08-074-20 REV.B back on September 26, 2020 that addresses this issue of "excess play in the steering" and "wandering" and the TSB gives recommendations to fix the steering by installing a new and improved Steering Gear Box that is made from steel as opposed to aluminum. I took my Jeep into a Jeep dealership with regards to this issue. The Jeep dealership confirmed that I have the "old style" steering gearbox mentioned in Technical Service Bulletin #08-074-20 REV.B and recommended that I replace it with the new design as recommended by the TSB. I asked Jeep to repair by vehicle free of charge as this is a "known" issue on Jeep Wrangler JL 2018-2020 as described in the TSB, but Jeep refused to pay for the safetly modification to my steering, stating that I am "out of the warranty period". This is a KNOWN manufacture defect. Jeep installed inferior aluminum steering gear boxes on their Jeep Wrangler JL 2018-2020 and 2020 Jeep Gladiators and they have since upgraded that critical safety component to a "steel version." Jeep should without question issue a "recall" to fix all current Jeep owners 2018-2020 Wrangler JLs and 2020 Jeep Gladiators that have a faulty aluminum steering gear box and replace it with the upgraded steel version that fixes the "wandering steering" and "excess play in the steering".

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. While the contact’s wife was driving with the heated steering wheel activated, the driver attempted to adjust the steering wheel position, and suddenly an electrical short occurred, causing white smoke to come from the center of the steering wheel. The vehicle was immediately stopped, and the heated steering wheel and heated seats were deactivated. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 82,000.

around august of 2025 the gauge cluster went black and i can no longer see my total miles, gas gauge, and any warning lights that may appear on screen i.e. door ajar. because of this, i have almost gotten in car accidents because my gas runs out unknowingly. one time it put me in serious danger on the interstate having to add gas while cars were flying past me. there were no warning lights, check engine lights, or any other lights that would suggest failure. it just went black one day random day. we recently got into a car accident, this occurred after it had gone out and upon inspection the mechanic confirmed it was not associated with the accident and suggested looking into recall because jeep currently has recalls on gauge clusters, which is why i am reporting now. it is available for inspection upon request.

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, several unknown warning lights flashed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on several occasions, where various repairs were performed; however, the failure returned after each repair. The contact then stated that the entire instrument panel had gone blank; as a result, the speedometer, fuel gauge, odometer mileage, and other various features were unavailable. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the instrument panel needed to be replaced. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V652000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle remained with the dealer unrepaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

Instrument cluster panel - while driving, my cluster panel occasionally glitches before returning to normal. Ultimately, when I was on the highway, it all went black. Nothing is visible anymore. I can’t tell if I need gas, if my tires are low, if an oil change is due, or if there are any warnings I should be aware of. Essentially, all the information I require is missing. This occurred during the 3rd year I owned the car, but it only happened a handful of times. The belt-driven starter generator failed after just 3 years of having the brand new car. Fortunately, it was included in the powertrain warranty, so it was repaired. However, I recall experiencing the same problem, and everything in my car was malfunctioning, including the radio. At that moment, I believed that was the source of the issue because it hadn't happened for quite some time. After I resolved that issue, about a year later, my cluster began to malfunction again with the glitching. It would glitch for a short period and then return to normal. However, this time it’s even worse, and now it’s completely black.

I am reporting a defect with the driver-side sun visor on my 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. The sun visor mounting mechanism is faulty and has broken/detached during normal use. When this occurs, the visor drops down unexpectedly and obstructs the driver’s forward view. This creates a serious safety hazard, as the visor can suddenly block visibility while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of a crash. The failure happened without excessive force or misuse, only routine flipping and positioning of the visor. Filing this complaint regarding a known safety defect affecting my 2019 Jeep Wrangler Sport - specifically the steering damper column defect commonly referred to as "Death Wobble." ISSUE: My vehicle experiences violent and uncontrollable steering wheel oscillation when hitting bumps or road imperfections at highway speeds (typically above 55 mph). This phenomenon causes the entire front end to shake violently, requiring me to immediately slow down to regain control of the vehicle. This poses an extreme safety risk to myself, my passengers, and other motorists. I believe my vehicle has an issue with steering damper failure - the exact same defect addressed in Customer Satisfaction Notification V41 issued by FCA in June 2019. THE PROBLEM: While FCA issued CSN V41 covering approximately 192,000 2018-2019 Jeep Wranglers for steering damper defects, however my VIN was excluded from this notification despite experiencing the identical safety defect. FCA selectively applied the remedy to certain VINs rather than addressing all affected vehicles from these model years. SAFETY CONCERNS: This defect creates loss of vehicle control at highway speeds, significantly increasing crash risk. The NHTSA investigation (PE19-012) identified frame weld quality deficiencies and steering-related defects in 2018-2019 Wranglers affecting approximately 270,000 vehicles. Multiple investigations have documented steering looseness, steering wobble/shimmy, and loss of steering control in these model years. MANUFACTURER REFUSAL: Despite the known defect and my vehicle exhibiting the exact symptoms addressed in CSN V41, I believe once I take it in for service, Jeep will refuse to repair this safety issue under warranty, forcing me to bear the financial burden for a known manufacturing defect. During the failure, the digital speedometer, fuel gauge, and odometer mileage were unavailable. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not contacted. The contact was informed of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V652000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); however, the VIN was not included. The problem occurs in my 2019 Jeep Wrangler, suddenly, typically after hitting a small bump or uneven section of pavement at around 60–70 mph. The entire front end begins to shake violently, and the steering wheel jerks rapidly back and forth, making it extremely difficult to maintain control of the vehicle. The only way to stop the shaking is to brake hard and slow down below 50 mph, which creates a dangerous situation. This violent steering vibration causes loss of directional stability and could easily lead to an accident if it happens in traffic or during lane changes. The sensation is so severe that it feels as if the front suspension or wheels are coming loose. I brought my Jeep to Wallace Jeep in Stuart, Florida where the technicians confirmed steering instability but stated that the steering damper is covered but the steering gear is not covered under warranty. I also contacted Jeep Cares, case # [XXX], and was told that Jeep “does not have to cover” my vehicle, even though it falls directly within the affected 2018–2020 Wrangler JL range identified in the [XXX]. v. FCA US LLC class action settlement related to the Death Wobble. The dealership’s refusal contradicts Jeep’s own Technical Service Bulletin 08-074-20 REV. E (“Improved Steering Feel”), which addresses steering wander, pull, and excessive play by replacing the steering gear and updating the EHPS software — exactly the symptoms I’m experiencing. This is a serious safety issue that occurs without warning and has not been resolved through the repairs or coverage Jeep has offered. The manufacturer’s denial of responsibility despite a known defect leaves drivers at risk of losing control at highway speeds. I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate and require Jeep/Stellantis to expand the recall or provide full coverage for all steering-related components contributing to this dangerous condition. The internal cluster went out all of a sudden. Stenallis has no part for us to repair it with. We have been without the car and no loaner for almost 4 months. There is a recall on this part on this model in this year. However, Stenallis won't recall my particular car which is currently affected. The recall should expand because it is on more models than they admit.

My 2019 Jeep Wrangler has a defective instrument cluster panel. The entire cluster is completely non-functional — I cannot see the speedometer, fuel gauge, warning lights, or odometer at all. This makes it impossible to monitor the vehicle’s speed, fuel level, or safety warnings while driving, creating a very serious safety hazard. I understand Jeep has already issued recall 24V-652 (Chrysler 30B) for defective cluster panels for 2019 and other Wrangler model years, but my VIN is not included even though I am experiencing the same issue. I am requesting that this defect be investigated and my vehicle added to the recall.

Mopar shop wanted to charge over $1,600 to replace ABS sensors and other items. I referred them to look at the part and was told it was not going to fix the issue. It did fix the issue. I have spent the last 2 months trying to figure out what was wrong with my vehicle and several funds later.

In addition to the check engine light, there were warnings for electronic stability protection, sway bar disconnect, ABS failure, power steering failure, shift lever malfunction. In addition to these malfunctions a failures, the windshield wipers turned on un-commanded and the radiator fan went into the highest possible speed, the digital engine temperature gauge failed, and both the digital and analog speedometers failed. This happened on a arterial road, losing power steering and braking at ~30mph unexpectedly was a shock, but manageable. At highway speeds it likely would have led to an accident or collision. Unfortunately, I don't have any documentation of the failure lights and systems failing, but it had happened several times prior to this occurrence, albeit only with dash warning lights, no actual system failures. After the system failures, I stopped driving the vehicle. The problem appears to be somewhat widespread and is caused by a failing CAN-C BUS. A quick google search will reveal NUMEROUS descriptions on the same dangerous issue. Even though that helped for a few years however it did not resolve the problem. It was still occurring just not to the same degree. Currently I have tried to reach out to the dealership to look into the problem and the dealership refuses as the car or the part is not covered under warranty. However not enough time or mileage has passed for the car to not be under warranty. The dealership and the FCA refuse to help. This issue is very serious! It common with these models of Jeep wranglers and are life threatening.

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the instrument panel cluster was inoperable. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V652000(Electrical System). The vehicle mileage was approximately 109,000 at the time the vehicle was taken to an unknown local dealer for diagnostic testing. The dealer determined that the instrument panel cluster needed to be replaced, and the dealer confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle had not been repaired, and the manufacturer had not been notified of the failure.

My 2019 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with 2.0 liter turbo engine has had two failed “Rear Axle Assemblies or differentials” within 3 years of each other. The first time was in July 2022, and my service repair order says rear Diff replacement. Now this time, my dealer is saying we need the whole rear axle assembly which is on national back order. No current ETA for delivery, with no additional info other than none are even in production at this time. Since my vehicle is under warranty for another 4,000 miles or so, I would like to use Stellantis warranty for my repair. However, They are no help and are saying we cannot order a different OE part, or a used part. The vehicle is unsafe to drive as I can feel my loss of control especially on wet roads in Florida. After searching the internet I have found this is a common problem with the sport, and Sahara versions from 2018-2025. Now that we can’t even get replacement parts, it creates a whole other set of problems. I would like to mention everything is factory on my Jeep and I have never been off roading. Not even once. So 2 failed rear axles is just unacceptable.
