MY JEEP AND NUMEROUS OTHERS THAT I HAVE BEEN FAMILIAR WITH HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM. THE FRONT SEATS BREAK AT THE POINT WHERE THE REAR SEAT BRACKETS BOLT TO THE SEAT. THIS IS ALSO WHERE THE SEAT BACK IS SUPPORTED. FROM INSPECTION IT APPEARS TO BE POOR DESIGN AND METAL FATIGUE. I HAVE ONLY NOTED THIS PROBLEM ON SEATS THAT HAVE A FIXED SEAT BACK/NON RECLINING. THE FAILURE ON MY JEEP WAS A SHOCK DUE TO THE LOW MILAGE AND MILD USE. IN THAT THIS COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE IT WAS THOUGHT THAT NHSTA MIGHT BE INTERESTED. NEEDLESS TO SAY JEEPS ARE INTENDED FOR OFF ROAD USE AND SEAT FAILURES EVEN ON OLDER MODELS ARE A CONCERN.*AK
OIL IS GOING STRAIGHT THROUGH THE BREATHER TUBE FROM VALVE COVER TO THE AIR FILTER THEN INTO EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND BURNING OUT EXHAUST (1 QUART A WEEK)NOT THE PCV TUBE THE TUBE IN THE REAR OF VALVE COVER. *AK
UPON STARTING VEHICLE, SHORTLY AFTER VEHICLE STARTED SMOKING. CONSUMER LIFTED THE HOOD, AND DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS A FIRE UNDER THE HOOD CAUSED BY AN ELECTRICAL SHORT. *AK

FRONT SEATBACKS BROKE, CAUSING THE OCUPANTS TO FALL BACK AND THE BOLTS HAVE SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK BOTH FRONT SEATS HAVE BROKEN AND DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT TO BODY BRACKET HAS COME APART. *MJS
VEHICLE EXPERIENCED FAILURE OF THE BRAKES ROTORS PRIOR TO RECALL NOTICE (98V-005) RESULTING IN VEHICLE ACCIDENT. MJS
SHOULDER BELTS ON DRIVER'S SIDE AND PASSENGER 'S SIDE DON'T WORK, THEY WON'T RETRACT. CONSUMER CAN'T DERTERMINE THE PROBLEM. *AK
