There was a recall on my PVC part in my 2023 atlas. An effect of a clogged pvc is an oil leak. The Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) system relieves built-up pressure inside your engine. When it fails or clogs, this pressure traps air inside the crankcase. The excess pressure often forces oil ou
... t through the weakest points, which can mimic a bad seal or gasket. I took my car to the dealership in Md and they claim that I need to get new seals on several parts of my car but they claim that my oil leak its not related to the PVC. This is a 2023 car with one owner and no previous problems. There are thousands of complaints online about the PVC part continuing to fail and continuing to cause oil leaks in consumers cars. The oil leak has also caused my driving belt to fail and in my case shred while driving. This is unsafe and makes cars slow down instantly and can cause major car accidents. Why are consumers expected to pay for seal replacements when its related to failed parts on a car. The VW dealership said that my engine light would need to be on for them to say its a result of the failed PVC but my engine light was on when I dropped my car off. The dealership said they will not replaced parts that were effected from failed PVC due to car being out of warranty. My research tells me that Volkswagen is legally responsible. Because auto manufacturers are governed by strict liability laws, they are responsible for injuries and property damage flowing from the defective product they sold.VW wants consumers to pay $842 dollars to replace a part that cost less than $20. The VW company said that I needed to get my recall repair done earlier in order for them to honor the damages however Ive never seen a recall that came with a time limits on car repairs. This is highway robbery and VW needs to be held responsible for failing to maintain accountable and damages to consumers.Read more

For the past several years, this vehicle has experienced a recurring and unresolved engine malfunction that creates a safety hazard. The problem manifests as follows: Symptoms when check engine light illuminates: • Idle RPM elevation to approximately 1500 RPM (normal idle: 800 RPM) • Sudden unin
... tended forward acceleration when foot is removed from brake pedal • Significantly reduced acceleration performance during normal driving • Vehicle becomes difficult to control safely The malfunction occurs intermittently but follows a consistent pattern. This is not an isolated incident but a recurring defect that has persisted for years. Multiple diagnostic and repair attempts have been unsuccessful: • Coconut Creek Hyundai service center - unable to diagnose [DATE(S)] • Independent mechanics - unable to resolve [DATE(S)] • Issue remains unresolved despite multiple service visits Despite multiple attempts by qualified technicians, the root cause has not been identified and the defect has not been corrected. This malfunction creates a significant safety hazard: • Unintended acceleration increases risk of collision • Reduced acceleration capability limits ability to merge or accelerate safely • Check engine light indicates undiagnosed system failure • Problem is intermittent and unpredictable, making it unsafe to drive I am concerned this may represent a defect pattern affecting multiple 2019 Sonata vehicles. NHTSA should: 1. Investigate whether this represents a defect pattern in 2019 Hyundai Sonata vehicles 2. Determine if a safety recall is warranted 3. We were on our way home from charlotte nc where the suv sat for a week while we were on vacation. Less than an hour of traveling home we smelled something burning so my husband pulled over, turns the suv off, and we looked on the outside at the tires. We didn’t see anything no smoke, no flat tires
... , so we look back in the suv and there was smoke all inside. We opened my passenger door and the smoke was coming from the door column that houses the seat belt. We had water in a cooler so he poured some on the area and I called 911. While waiting on the fire department the suv was still smoking but he couldn’t get the column cover off to see where it was coming from. Then fire starts flaming up through the melting plastic column so he took more water and poured it on the fire and smothered it with a towel until it went out. The fire department came pulled the seat belt column off and cut the wires and taped them up, then checked the voltage to make sure it was safe for us to drive home since it was only about 15 minutes away and told us not to park it the garage or close to the house so we went straight home and didn’t drive it anymore. Damage is to the seat belt, seat belt column and the electrical harness that goes under the seat. The suv was towed from our house to the dealership Vann York in high point nc. They have looked at the damage and advised the insurance company who is not covering the cause of the fire only the damage to the other parts. No alterations have been made to the suv. I would appreciate your help in this matter. Holly Grove fire department can provide their details as well if needed they are located in Lexington nc. Luckily we were able to get out of the suv before the fire got worse and I would have been stuck because my grandsons car seat is in the next row behind me.Read more

I purchased a 2018 Ford Focus in Sept of 2023 with 30k+ miles. Financed. In April of 2025 the car started making strange noises when starting and then would not go into reverse. The car pushed in neutral and drove about 2 miles. Stopped for gas and then the car would not start. The car was towed
... to a mechanic. He had the vehicle for 2 wks trying to purchase a part called an Actuator. I reside on St. Croix USVI and purchased this vehicle from a fleet sale from Centerline Rental Cars. After the Actuators were placed, I drove the car and within a day had a screeching sound upon starting car. Drove it back to mechanic and we did a test drive.21 The car would slow down and speed up on it's own. The vehicle this time died and had to be pushed onto the lot. Was worked on again and still did not work properly. Car was towed to Ford Metro for analysis. The car now has 40k+ miles in 18 mos of use. They quoted me $4,213.00 for parts and labor. I am still paying $359.00 a month since April 2025. The car was towed back to my residence where it sits dead. Please advise.Read more

I respectfully submit the following additional information. In connection with this matter, the dealer in question asserted in writing that I "should have refused to participate" in the manufacturer-authorized "Z05 Service Campaign"—a measure designed to prevent potential damage—and characterized
... the program as nothing more than "free paint work." Service campaigns administered by manufacturers are conducted within the framework of federal safety regulations pursuant to Title 49, Chapter 301 of the U.S. Code; they are neither optional nor merely cosmetic in nature. Rather, they constitute systematic procedures intended to preserve vehicle integrity and support public safety. Statements suggesting that consumers should decline participation in such campaigns—or that they may bear financial responsibility for damage incurred during their execution—raise concerns regarding how these federally supervised programs are communicated and implemented and may discourage participation and undermine public confidence in the national vehicle safety campaign system. Although the dealership subsequently offered to replace the windshield at no cost, I have not received confirmation that the repair has been completed. This offer was made only after the vehicle remained at the facility for an extended period, during which I was repeatedly placed under pressure to assume financial responsibility for damage that occurred while the vehicle was under dealership custody. I was presented with two conditional options; however, in either scenario, I would ultimately be required to accept financial responsibility for the outcome. Ultimately, I was required to assume financial responsibility for issues arising during the work. On 2/23, I was told the loaner could be reported as "stolen," and I returned it immediately. After returning the vehicle, no alternative transportation was provided while my own vehicle remained unrepaired.Read more

Shortly after a routine oil change performed at a Kia dealership, I discovered a significant oil leak underneath the vehicle the following day. Within a short period of time, the vehicle began experiencing engine-related issues including a cylinder misfire, noticeable shaking while driving, and loss
... of power, particularly when accelerating or driving on inclines. The vehicle also displayed a check engine light and a warning related to 12-volt battery drain. In addition, I noticed a strong burning odor coming from the engine area, which raised concerns about a possible fluid leak or internal engine issue. These conditions created a safety concern because the vehicle would hesitate and lose power during normal driving, which could increase the risk of an accident, especially in traffic or when merging or climbing inclines. The vehicle was returned to a Kia dealership for inspection. I was informed that a cylinder issue was suspected; however, only a temporary repair involving a coil swap was performed. No comprehensive diagnostic testing was completed to confirm the root cause of the problem. After the repair, the vehicle continued to exhibit abnormal behavior, including shaking and lack of power. Due to ongoing safety concerns and lack of confidence in the vehicle’s reliability, I stopped driving the vehicle. This issue occurred at relatively low mileage, raising concerns about a potential engine defect or unresolved mechanical failure.Read more

While driving, my 2017 Ford F‑150 experienced a sudden loss of the Output Shaft Speed (OSS) sensor signal, causing the transmission to stay stuck in a higher gear and triggering the wrench light. The truck lost power and would not shift properly. A diagnostic scan showed two transmission codes: on
... e for the OSS sensor and a second code indicating an intermittent electrical signal drop. I contacted a Ford dealer before the repair, described the symptoms, and asked for an estimate. The service advisor did not disclose any known issues and never called me back after saying he would check parts availability. These symptoms match the known failure pattern of the molded lead frame in the 6R80 transmission. My truck exhibited intermittent behavior, harsh shifting, and unsafe drivability. I had to pay $1,250 out of pocket to replace the lead frame to restore normal operation. I later learned that NHTSA has opened an Engineering Analysis into 2015–2017 F‑150 trucks for this exact issue (OSS signal loss due to internal electrical degradation of the lead frame). My vehicle’s symptoms, diagnostic codes, and required repair are consistent with the defect under investigation. This failure creates a safety hazard because the truck can suddenly lose the ability to accelerate or shift correctly, especially in traffic or at highway speeds. I am requesting that NHTSA include my vehicle in the investigation and that Ford be required to address this defect.Read more

Incident Description (Firestone Destination LE3 – P235/65R17) I purchased four new Firestone Destination LE3 tires (size P235/65R17, DOT IW2 8ILE31) and within the first week three of them developed noticeable bulges in the sidewalls. I returned to the tire service center, and they replaced the t
... hree tires due to the bulging. The following week, new bulges appeared again in the sidewalls on multiple replacement tires, for a total of six affected tires. Sidewall bulging creates a risk of sudden tire failure and loss of vehicle control, and I do not feel the tires are safe to drive on. One service center stated this was “normal from driving on roads,” but I disagree due to the number of tires affected in such a short time. The condition has been repeated and confirmed by multiple service centers. The tires remain available for inspection upon request. There were no warning lamps or messages before the bulges appeared. The issue began immediately after installation of the first set, and the problem persisted with the replacement set. In my assessment, the repeated sidewall bulging indicates a potential structural or manufacturing defect.Read more

Junction between thermostat and water pump failed leading to total loss of coolant. At the time I was driving north on I-75 in heavy morning traffic at 65 MPH. I was able to steer the vehicle off the road without hitting anyone or coming to a complete stop. Had the vehicle towed to Jim Ellis VW of
... Kennesaw where they diagnosed the problem and replaced the water pump. The car had 18,762 miles on it at the time. Mechanic stated that the problem was oil from cam covers leaking onto water pump and was frequently seen. Vehicle had low coolant warning lights twice and I added several ounces of distilled water each time. Car had an engine warning light and was being taken to dealer for service that day. When the incident happened, there was an audible alarm for loss of coolant and a flashing yellow light on the dashboard. The car had been serviced and inspected at the dealership annually, there had been no reports of leaking oil from cam covers. There was no indication the water pump would catastrophically fail. The waterpump should not fail with this few miles on it. .Read more

I received a Uconnect update message on 10 -11–25 after doing that update my check engine light came on and my vehicle stalled out losing power multiple times on a highway with heavy traffic. I was asked to drive the vehicle to the Jeep dealership Heritage Jeep in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania they tol

I asked if I could bring my Jeep in the following week to see if an update would be available when I left the dealership, the engine light was off and the vehicle was running fine. On Friday 10 –17–25. I received another message that an update was sent from UConnect on 10-14-25 my engine light came back on and I lost several electronic features related to temperature reading, remote start, and some safety related services. I took my Jeep back up to Heritage Jeep. It is there now. I had to take a shuttle home and I have no way to get to work they are not sure how long they’re going to have it. They are not sure if I will be able to get a rental car covered by Chrysler. I went to enterprise and they had no Chrysler available to rent due to this issueThere is no timeframe for fixing this situation and it has already cost me over $500 due to a missed weekend getaway 10-17-25. that I had to cancel on 10-17-25. I missed a day of work today and as a registered nurse today will cost me close to $350. I am afraid to drive my vehicle now after having it stall in traffic and almost being sideswiped when it stalled at a red light the Jeep dealership Informed me they are not getting much information from Chrysler. I am paying $725 a month to lease this Jeep and now I’m afraid to drive it and according to the dealership, they don’t know when an update will be coming in to fix the Uconnect problem this is absolutely unacceptable and I need assistance with this problem.Read more
