On December 16, 2024, at approximately 95,354 miles, the vehicle was taken to Murgado Ford Lincoln of Chicago. The dealership documented diagnostic codes P0303 and P0316 and determined that coolant was entering cylinder No. 3. Pursuant to Ford Technical Service Bulletin 22-2229, the dealership replaced the long-block engine and related one-time-use components. The replacement service-engine assembly was identified on the repair invoice as part No. J2GZ-6006-E. The vehicle was returned to me on approximately January 30, 2025. The 10R80 10-speed automatic transmission and the gear-shift linkage module are defective, and the truck remains available for inspection. Our safety is constantly put at risk because the transmission exhibits an extremely violent, highly intermittent powertrain lunging jolt during deceleration and
... stopping. The impact is so severe that it sounds and feels like a loud gunshot firing right next to the cabin occupants. Furthermore, the transmission simultaneously exhibits severe throttle hesitation and gear-skipping. This causes the vehicle to drop gears and completely fail to move when attempting to accelerate at busy stoplights, trapping us as a sitting duck in active traffic. Earlier in our timeline, the technician improperly reassembled the shift linkage, which caused the multi-ton vehicle to refuse to engage in Park and violently roll backward down a steep residential incline; an emergency parking brake deployment was required to prevent a catastrophic accident. The transmission defect was physically confirmed by [XXX] of Papillion, who verified scored, sticking fluid control valves inside the main control unit. Additionally, the hazard was officially confirmed by BBB AUTO LINE National Arbitrator Sharon Katt (Case XXX). The arbitrator officially signed a ruling certifying that our safety, use, and value concerns are completely valid, explicitly noting that the intermittent nature of this transmission failure does not minimize the extreme safety hazard. There were no warning lamps prior to the failure. The symptoms first appeared at ~49,000 miles. The dealer has since refused advanced diagnostics, executed an irrelevant radio reset instead, and willfully fabricated a fake service record on CARFAX on April 21, 2026, to force-close system safety alerts in their database. reporting a safety issue with BMW vehicles equipped with the B58TU engine, primarily 2019-2021 models. These vehicles have an oil pump with an internal plastic component that regulates oil pressure, and this part is fracturing in the field, causing sudden loss of oil pressure. The failure typically
... occurs during cold starts in low temperatures. When it fails, oil pressure becomes erratic or is lost entirely, often with little to no warning before engine damage or vehicle disablement. Warning signs, when present, include inability to measure oil level electronically, abnormal oil pressure, or sudden drivetrain malfunction warnings. These can rapidly progress to engine shutdown or severe damage from oil starvation. This creates a dangerous situation because the vehicle can become disabled without warning while driving or after startup. This is especially hazardous when cars become immobilized in traffic or during winter conditions when failures occur most frequently, leaving occupants exposed to freezing temperatures while awaiting assistance. Pump replacement requires extensive disassembly and commonly costs $6,000-$8,000, assuming no engine damage. A critical concern: owners cannot determine if their vehicle has the original plastic pump or the later metal revision. BMW's VIN-based parts lookup now shows updated components even when original plastic parts remain installed, and BMW has removed the original plastic part number from dealer networks entirely. Failures are reported across multiple production years, and the scope of affected vehicles remains unclear. Because this condition causes sudden vehicle disablement without adequate warning, especially in cold weather, I believe this warrants investigation as a potential safety-related defect.Read more

I recently took my 2019 X5 to the BMW dealership because of the recall (Engine starter) and the code P0456 (NVLD Minor Leak Fault). At the same time, there's a warning that says, "Oil at a minimum level. Add 1 liter immediately". I have the 3 Year Oil Plan and asked them to put some oil, but the dea
... lership said that they can't add oil because the oil level wouldn’t read properly. They told me they couldn’t diagnose it without charging me an extra $300 for further testing. Then, I read a lot of threads online and it seems that BMW quietly changed the pump to an all-metal design around 2020 but never issued a recall or extended warranty for the earlier cars. There's a lot of customers complaining with the B58TU engine found in many 2019–2021 BMWs (X5 xDrive40i, 540i, 340i, etc.). The variable oil pump uses a plastic internal adjusting ring that cracks over time. When it fails, oil pressure becomes unstable or is lost, often with little warning. A common early symptom is the oil level sensor test failing and stopping around 12-20%. In the worst cases, it can lead to sudden engine damage or the car shutting down while driving. I called up my mechanic, and he said that this is a common problem and it could be an oil pump issue that needs to be replaced. I asked him for a quote and he said approximately $5k or more. I believe this is a safety defect that deserves investigation Hoping for your kind consideration. UNINTENDED VEHICLE MOVEMENT AT STARTUP - POTENTIAL CLUTCH DEFECT On January 17, 2026, at approximately 1:59 PM, I started my 2019 Genesis G70 (manual transmission) while parked in my garage. The vehicle was in Neutral with the parking brake engaged. I depressed the clutch pedal fully before press
... ing the start button, with no foot on the accelerator. Immediately upon starting, the vehicle lurched backward at significant speed without any driver input to accelerator, gear shift, or parking brake release. I attempted to stop the motion by pressing the brake pedal firmly but the vehicle continued moving. The vehicle struck the garage door frame (bending the driver's door backward), nearly pinning my [XXX] son between the door and garage structure. The car continued across my driveway, struck my neighbor's parked Lexus RX 350, then crashed into the neighbor's garage door and siding. RELEVANT PRIOR HISTORY: - February 7, 2025: Genesis authorized clutch/transmission repair at Rick Case Genesis dealership - February 27, 2025: Dealership stated car was ready, but upon arrival, technician could not release vehicle because it would "not shift gears" or "move" - March 5, 2025: Vehicle released; clutch engagement point was unusually high - December 2025: Clutch pedal required full depression to shift reliably - January 2026: Difficulty shifting in cold weather unless car was warmed up POST-INCIDENT OBSERVATIONS: - Clutch engagement point was on the floor (abnormally low) - No dashboard warning lights appeared before or during incident - Backup camera did not activate - EDR data (downloaded by Genesis March 5, 2026) confirms 0% accelerator pedal and 0% engine throttle throughout the event INJURIES: Minor (skin abrasion to my toe). My son was nearly pinned but not injured. PROPERTY DAMAGE: My vehicle (door/frame), neighbor's vehicle, neighbor's garage door and siding. MANUFACTURER RESPONSE: Genesis Case XXX opened. There was some teen behind me who wasn't paying attention, and obviously no one expects the car in front of them to slam on their brakes 30 feet behind the cars in front of them, then plowed into back end of my car. This isn't the first time it's happened and I wasn't even at risk of collision as I was already slowing down in the other instances. But this time it caused an accident and injury. I am suffering from whiplash and possible herniated disk. The system is on the Late setting as well but is still dangerous to drive. The brake accumulator went out thanksgiving day on my way home nearly causing an accident. I also missed dinner due to the issue creating a clearly unsafe driving condition where I was barely able to use my brakes. This is a known issue by Toyota, whom extended the warranty to 10 years. Of course,
... my warranty was 3 days past the 10 years even though it is under the mileage requirement. This should have been a recall, as it is a known and reported problem. I am now out 3300$ for the repair just to get my car in an operable condition. There were no warnings, the abs light as well as the traction alert went off and I lost the ability to properly brake in an instant. There was no warning, nor was I notified about this part.Read more

Because this vehicle is fully electric, "revving" effectively signals the electric motors to apply instant torque, which can lead to dangerous lunges if the software or sensors are out of sync.I mentioned the safety issues and it was not addressed Our computer goes in and out and blacks out when driving. I had a recall on my 2011 Ford explorer for toe Links and bushings. Since ever since this has been going on I have gone through 38 tires in the rear in the past two years alone no shop will fix my car because the camber is so out of whack I have to have the whole rear suspension redone again when it
... should have been fixed the first time with the recall link Ford spent 5 minutes going through my car and said that my car didn't qualify for any recall because my car is a front wheel drive and not an all-wheel drive so they did not do the recall now after bringing it to another shop I have the estimate of what it would cost to fix that needs to be done it is an emergency because when I hit a pothole I go in the ditch my friend and his smashed because I can't control my car my steering freezes while driving down the highway and this all has something to do with the rear suspension five Star automotive wrote down everything that needs to be replaced this is a hazard to be on the road, if I could afford another car I would have one I keep sinking money into this one, because of Link Ford and their mistake me and my car should not have to suffer for it or anyone else on the road because this is a hazard my car is going to kill someone if I would have had the recall replaced, I wouldn't have had to spend an additional $1,400 on parts and labor that never even got put in because they can't put them in until this is repaired I can't even get a front end alignment because of this the entire rear suspension is sagging to the ground and my tires tilt in about 42°. I have the printout from both Link Ford in mining and 5 star automotive in Superior WI because of the 22 times I've gone in the ditch due to my suspension and steering locking up I have a short in the ground wire somewhere that is now fried my ECU so when I put it in a $90 boot every time it lights on fire within 30 seconds I'm in closing that picture as well of the one I just put in little over an hour ago.Read more
