Turned on the car to the find the check engine light was on. Drive 5 minutes to my son’s school to pick him up. Turned the car off, then back on to see if maybe the check engine light would go off. Instead the check engine light, battery light and service hybrid charging system errors appeared on
... the dash. THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN OFF AND I WAS UNABLE TO PUT IT IN GEAR AT ALL. It left me stranded. I called a tow truck and about 10 min before they were set to arrive I tried turning it off and on again and it started like normal (check engine light still on) Drove 5 min home and it did it again in my driveway. Happened again when my husband started it to take a look. This happened to us one other time about 3 months after we bought the car. We’ve only had it 9 months. Both recalls have been completed. This is unacceptable.Read more

The engine in my 2017 Hyundai Sonata has been burning excessive amounts of engine oil over an extended period. The issue started approximately 10,000 miles ago but has worsened recently, requiring frequent oil top-offs between regular oil changes. The oil consumption is abnormal and not consistent w
... ith normal wear. This excessive oil burning poses a potential safety risk, including possible engine failure, stalling, or fire hazard due to low oil levels if not monitored carefully. The vehicle has not yet experienced a complete failure but the risk concerns me. The problem has been observed consistently during normal driving conditions. I have not yet had an official inspection or oil consumption test performed by a dealer, but I intend to request one. There have been no warning lights related to the oil burning issue, but the oil level drops rapidly and noticeably.Read more

We bought this 2020 Buick Enclave from Pinegar Chevrolet in Republic, MO from the preowned side of the dealership. When we test drove it only in the parking lot it didn't make any noises, but as soon as we drove off the lot after purchase the brakes made a noise as if the anti lock brake system was
... not working properly making it difficult to stop as the car should. We also was told that since this is a preowned and not a certified preowned that it was sold as is no warranty. I believe GM needs to fix this issue ASAP or the dealership needs to either buy the car back or put us into something with a warranty that doesn't have safety issues. We bought this as our family vehicle and I don't believe it is road worthy or safe to be transporting my family in.Read more

I am submitting this formal safety complaint regarding my 2025 RAM 1500 Limited, which I purchased new in November 2024 and currently with approximately 9,000 miles. The vehicle has exhibited repeated, dangerous failures of its advanced driver assistance and braking systems that place both the dri
... ver and public at serious risk. Summary of Safety Incidents: First Incident: While driving at approximately 35 mph, the vehicle abruptly and uncommandedly stopped, with no driver input. Fortunately, there were no vehicles behind me at the time, or this could have resulted in a high-speed rear-end collision. Second Incident: Roughly 400 miles later, while stopped at a traffic light, the vehicle displayed multiple warning alerts and shut itself off completely. Upon restarting and driving approximately 50 yards, the braking system failed for about five seconds, rendering the truck unable to stop. This failure was later replicated by the authorized dealership’s service team, who then informed me that the vehicle’s CPU had failed during repair attempts. The vehicle has now been out of service for over 50 days, and the dealer has returned it to me twice in an unsafe condition. Stellantis, the vehicle manufacturer, has acknowledged the problem but has not provided a resolution.Read more

The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed but the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The check engine warning light was reset, and the

The contact purchased a scanner to check on the codes herself. The contact retrieved a code related to the catalytic converter. Over the past month, the car has provided warnings when driving: 1. Front assist has limited availability, 2. ACC unavailable, and 3. Emergency assist is currently not available. Note: the ACC was not engaged when these messages appeared. On October 1 I was driving on a highway at about 65 MPH
... with adaptive cruise control engaged. The weather was clear. Suddenly the ACC disengaged and the car began to slow. I re-accelerated the car by pushing the accelerator and continued my trip without ACC. No accident occurred but I was surprised when the car began to slow without warning on a major highway at high speed. When it was safe to do so, I pulled over into the breakdown lane to read the messages. The two messages displayed were Front assist has limited availability and Emergency assist currently not available. The picture on the front of the dashboard also indicated that ACC was not available. Over the next few days while driving locally (without ACC engaged), these three messages would periodically appear on the dashboard. I brought the car into a local VW dealer (Wellesley Volkswagen) to have it looked at by the service department. They indicated on the invoice from the visit that they "performed road test. RAND GFF and performed soft configuration of the 5F, front sensor and cluster. Reset all codes with success." The invoice also listed "Concern: 919A vehicle software open. Correction Not available at this time - customer will get notice via mail". I was told by the VW Wellesley representative when I picked up the car that these error messages will likely re-appear until I get the 919A software update, which is not available. These error messages did re-appear yesterday, October 12, while driving locally without ACC engaged. As a side note, I received a recall 919A in the mail from Volkswagen in July 2024 (more than 3 months ago) telling me that a recall repair is not available.Read more

Now it’s at jeep in Dade city Fl and they said the engine is bad … after spending $950 on the sediment issue. Another $980 a couple weeks ago for battery , spark plugs , computer software update etc. now they want another $700 just to open my engine up and see what’s wrong. I am done. So as of now I have no car. Jeep only offered me $2k to buy it from me. And I still owe $12k. And I put about $3k into it in the last 5 months. This should be illegal to sell a lemon like this and leave a consumer like me more than $12k out. And from my research. Many others have the same complaint. Driving on a clear, sunny day in Arizona on interstate 8 at highway speed with the Tesla AutoPilot engaged. There were no vehicles in front of me and no obstructions in the road when the car did heavy braking (aka phantom braking) for no known reason. I immediately had to override the braking with p
... ressing on the accelerator. This occurred multiple times on the same road. If a vehicle had been traveling behind me when this happened, it would be highly likely that a collision would occur because of the random nature of the extreme braking. I did not use the adaptive cruise feature the rest of the trip in fear that a collision would occur. No warning messages were/are present. The Model 3 I drive is equipped with sensors on the front bumper that (I believe) Tesla has deactivated to use vision-only instead. I drove for years using the non-vision (sensor) method without experiencing phantom braking, so this experience is new to me.Read more

I have a 2017 Subaru Forester 2.5i touring that seems to be plagued by a parasitic battery drain issue. I bought the car used in 2019 and successfully moved from Seattle to the Boston area in it shortly after the purchase with no issues. The dead batteries started during the pandemic, when the ca
... r was sitting undriven for extended periods of time. I’ve had the battery replaced multiple times, most recently in January of this year with a Diehard (3 yr warranty), and yet, once again, the car is dead and I had to call AAA yet again today. I'm at my wits end and cannot afford to continually purchase new batteries over and over again. My online research has produced dozens and dozens of stories about Subaru knowing about this parasitic drain and not admitting wrongdoing. I even found a class action lawsuit. Some folks online have reported having a mechanic who was able to diagnose which component was causing their drain … not always the same component all of the time, however. Most recently, I read it was the DCM causing the issue. At any rate, I don’t have the technical expertise to mitigate this, so I’m looking for a mechanic who can successfully diagnose where my particular parasitic battery drain is coming from.Read more
