The electronic power steering intermittently fails while driving, especially during or after wet conditions. Without warning, the steering wheel becomes extremely stiff and difficult to turn, and a “Service Power Steering” message appears. The failure occurs at any speed and lasts about 1–3 m
... inutes before returning to normal. This has happened multiple times under similar conditions. This creates a serious safety risk because it occurs at highway or city speeds without warning, making the vehicle difficult to control and increasing the risk of a crash. No prior warning is given before the failure other than the dashboard message at the time of the incident. Cause is UNKNOWN. There are numerous reports from other drivers describing similar symptoms, suggesting a potential widespread defect in the electronic power steering system or related components.Read more

I have a 2024 Hybrid Toyota Tundra which shares the same engine that has undergone a NHTSA recall. 1. DETACHED REAR WALL The interior screws on the back wall tore a horizontal hole (approx 1/2 inch), and interior cabinetry joints are pulling apart. I contacted Grand Design who referred me to Lippert, who suggested we use a Lippert agent. 2 Florida local agents declined to get involved, so i returned to the dealer where i purchased the RV - 500 miles away in Georgia, after an email & phone consult. After 5 weeks, they said they would rather not do the job, and after 2 weeks prompting, Lippert agreed to schedule a 'courtesy inspection' - a month out. The dealer that inspected the RV stated that they thought the floor is subsiding & they think it is related to frame issues, but could not be sure without a more thorough inspection (but would need to remove under belly). 3. 2016 Honda Pilot EX with 131,000 miles - Connector Rod Issue On [XXX] while driving (40 mph) I heard a loud noise in the engine. The engine then proceeded to smoke profusely that I thought it was on fire. I immediately pulled the car over to the side of the road and shut the engine off while smok
... e filled the area. After a quick investigation with police who stopped to assist I realized ALL the engine oil leaked all over the road. The car was then towed to Clinton Honda in Annandale, New Jersey where after their mechanics performed a diagnostic it was determined the "Connector Rod" broke and went through the engine block. Clinton Honda informed me it would require a new motor ($5k) and labor ($4.5k) to resolve the issue. Since it was no longer under normal / extended warranty Clinton Honda was unwilling to repair the vehicle at their expense. I then proceeded to research the issue on the internet and discovered Honda did issue a Recall for this problem. However, my VIN did not fall within the numbers identified on the Recall. After doing a little more research I discovered that numerous Pilot owners experienced the same issue but their cars didn't fall within the impacted VINs on the recall and Honda Corporation did nothing to assist. Clearly Honda Corporation dropped the ball in accurately identifying the affected cars. On Friday, July 19, 2024 I filed a complaint with Honda Corporation to assist with the matter, but I am not very hopeful that they will do anything for me either. My car was always very well maintained and all the service was performed by Clinton Honda on schedule. Please help!!! The cabin vent system appears to have a design defect, specifically the passenger-side vent located in the back of the cabin. This component is available for inspection upon request. The dealership, Santa Cruz Toyota, has declined to replace the part despite acknowledging the issue. The concern lies
... in the vent's design, as it allows water to enter the cabin instead of just expelling air. The water intrusion caused by this malfunction poses a safety risk in two ways. First, the presence of water on the floor increases the chance of an electrical fire due to the numerous electrical wires running underneath. Second, mildew spores can grow on the wet undercarpet padding, creating a health hazard. This problem has been confirmed by Santa Cruz Toyota, and we have video evidence to support the claim. While Santa Cruz Toyota has inspected the vehicle, our request for a direct inspection from the manufacturer, Toyota, has not been successful. There weren't any warning lights or messages prior to the failure. However, the issue became apparent after the heavy rains of 2023 in California, when we discovered water accumulated under the passenger-side carpet padding.Read more

I was driving at night on a freeway marked as a 65mph speed limit. I had the adaptive cruise control turned on and set to automatically follow the road speed limit. There was intermittent rain at the time. Suddenly my car began to accelerate, but I was able to stop the acceleration by stepping on
... the brake to disengage cruise control. I tried re-engaging cruise control and it immediately accelerated strongly again. That is when I noticed the cruise control speed had been set to 85mph. I disengaged cruise control for the rest of my trip home and was able to drive normally. Subsequently I learned that the car detects speed limits by both map data and visually recognizing speed limit signs, so I assume it mis-identified a 65mph sign as 85mph. The auto speed feature set the cruise control speed to 85mph even though that is much higher than any possible speed limit in California. I disabled the auto speed feature of the adaptive cruise control and have not had any problem since then.Read more

We have requested they buy back the vehicle and are told no to this point. Our safety has been put at risk because the sensors caused the vehicle to slam on the brakes at 80mph. While this time there was no one behind us if they would have been they would have rear ended us. To my knowledge this has not been reproduced by the dealer as they do not drive the vehicle long enough, but they have not denied the car could have done this. They have also acknowledged there is no repair available currently. The vehicle has been brought to the dealership 3 times for repair thus far. We are told they are not able to do anything further until this update releases and it might fix it. There are lights that come on showing it is not working properly. They do seem to come off and on.
