In the affected vehicles, the weight on the key ring and road conditions or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position, turning off the engine.Read more
Consequence
If the key is not in the run position, the air bags may not deploy if the vehicle is involved in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. Additionally, a key knocked out of the run position will cause loss of engine power, power steering, and power braking, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

They also fail to conform to FMVSS number 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention."Read more
Consequence

I'm filing this complaint regarding my 2017 Honda Civic Touring (VIN: [XXX] , ~75,000 miles). The AC condenser failed, which Honda covered under an extended warranty (TSB 19-091). However, the AC compressor also failed, and Honda denied coverage, even for goodwill. I believe the compressor failure
... is a direct result of the leaking condenser with a possible compressor seal leak. Refrigerant loss causes the compressor to overwork and lose lubrication, leading to premature failure. The car mechanic had noted how low our refrigerant fluid was. A compressor should last well beyond 73,000 miles, typically 100,000-150,000+. This early failure, linked to a known condenser defect, points to a systemic manufacturing flaw. Furthermore, the dealership's "blue light" test for leaks might have been inadequate. Honda's TSB 23-012 specifically requires a "calibrated sniffer" for compressor shaft seal leaks, a more rigorous diagnostic that may have been overlooked. This means a compressor seal leak, caused by the condenser issue, could have been missed. Widespread AC component failures (condensers and compressors) in 10th-gen Civics are well-documented, leading to class-action lawsuits. This is not an isolated incident but a pervasive defect. A sudden AC failure affects driver comfort and can be a safety concern, especially in extreme heat, by potentially causing distraction. I urge NHTSA to investigate this systemic issue and compel Honda to cover the compressor replacement, acknowledging the direct link and apparent manufacturing defect. The vehicle has experienced repeated transmission-related issues, including erratic shifting, delayed response, slippage, and sudden loss of power while driving. These symptoms significantly impact drivability and pose a safety risk, especially when accelerating or merging in traffic. The issue was
... previously addressed by the dealership under a recall repair. However, the same transmission behavior has returned approximately 3–4 months after the repair. The dealership performed repairs multiple times before, and the symptoms have now recurred. The problem has been confirmed by the authorized dealership and is scheduled for another inspection. There have been warning symptoms such as hesitation during gear shifts and intermittent power dips while in motion, which began reappearing recently. The component remains available for inspection. Given the repeat nature of the issue following an official recall, I believe this may be part of a broader unresolved defect in the vehicle’s transmission system. The issue initially reappeared briefly after the recall repair, then subsided. However, it returned more consistently and noticeably after a couple of months, and is now ongoing.Read more

My 2010 Kia Sedona has a major problem with the brakes. I had a problem with the brake pedal sinking too far. I took it to a local mechanic. This mechanic installed a new master cylinder. Two days later the brakes started to grab. The brakes were activating without my foot on the brake pedal.
... I had the Kia towed back to the local mechanic. The local mechanic said the master cylinder was working properly. This mechanic told me to take it to the Kia Dealership to reprogram the ABS Module. I have had the Kia at the Kia Dealership three different times for this same problem. The first time the Kia Dealership did do some reprogramming. They also said there was rust in the master cylinder reservoir. The Kia Dealership has driven the car several miles. They claim they can not duplicate the problem. So they have given the car back to me without doing anything. I have had the problem with the brakes grabbing on three different occasions. Each time I have had to have the Kia towed. This problem with the brakes grabbing is extremely dangerous. I am barely able to pull off the road and get the Kia towed. The car will slow down considerably. The car will be hard to control. All four rims have been very hot each time when I touch them with my hand after pulling off the road. The left front rim had smoke coming off it the first time this happened. I have to put on my hazards lights as I can not keep up with traffic when the brakes grab. Also, the first time the brakes grabbed, the ABS and ESC warning lights came on. The last time the brakes grabbed the ESC Off light came on. The Kia Dealership has told me that there are no codes stored in the computer. I am afraid to drive the car. It is sitting in my driveway now. The Kia only has about 19,000 miles on it. While driving on the highway my Ford Edge starting shuttering/sputtering when I gave the vehicle gas. I went to the car dealer and they recommended changing the spark plugs. The car still sputtered and started getting worst when ever I gave the vehicle gas. Even at 30 - 40 mph the car sputtered.
... I took the car to the dealership today, April 9, 2025 and was told there was an issue with the "Torque Converter". I googled this and found a Ford Forum and found other people having the same issue. Some and issue with the cost of repair, some could not find the part, some with concerns of why no recall, and some with concerns getting issue fixed and it breaking down again. I ask that you investigate this issue, request a recall, and a secondary insurance if it breaks again after getting repaired. -Failed: 12 V battery draining, defective screw assembly that holds the hood down, broken air vents. Inspection available upon request. -Put in multiple repair tickets/messages months ago with no response from Fisker. Phone # listed in recall mailer just rings and rings. Phone record show I've been
... on hold for 8+ hours total before giving up. -No inspection of components by Fisker or other service centers or insurance. What happened: -280+ miles of EV battery drained while we were on vacation for 10 days. Came home to dead battery. Bricked: unable to unlock car door or charge port. -Dangerous situation as I've read online of multiple people being trapped in their cars with electrical failure. -Called for Fisker Roadside Assistance, no response. Luckily we came up with the idea to call AAA days later. They came out and was able to jump start the 12 V giving enough power to open doors and charge port. (BTW, If my car had bricked while in the garage, it would not be possible for AAA to reach the hood screws if I'm parked up against a wall. This is a bad design) When done, AAA could not reinstall one of the screws due to faulty screw assembly that holds the hood down. We were told to reach out to the manufacturer. I have a fear for safety on the freeway as the hood might fly open (read online this has literally happened to others). No response from Fisker. -Also AC vents still not working. We live in southern CA and can't drive the car on hot days. Plus there is a fear of being trapped with no AC in the car. This would be a life-threatening situation. -Endless random error icons for ADAS, but with updates, these errors only come on once in a while now. It flashes quickly and I'm not able to read what the warnings say while I am driving. With weekly warnings we're unable to read, this could be dangerous. -Still waiting for car door and heat pump recall repairs to take place. Thank you for your help.Read more

My vehicle has been stuck at the 1st half of SW version 2.0 and has never been able to complete the full version of 2.0 upgrade. A ticket has been open with Fisker for this issue several months now with minimal communication. A tech advised that there was a component not taking the update correctly
... so the rest of the install was backing out. The problem now is that I am no longer getting SW updates so can't get these safety recalls addressed - NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V405000 and 24V404000. As of the past couple of months, Fisker has been totally non-responsive since there are no more local techs, no response to 800 number, or email. Essentially I am at a loss as to how to get these recalls addressed. I am raising this concern with the NHTSA as issuing recalls are great, but if the fix is within a software release and several cars can not get routine software updates the procedure to address recalls is broken and Fisker should be held responsible even if dispatching techs is required.Read more
