The transmission failed, shifting is no longer smooth. It hesitates and shakes the entire car, and the car slows down to almost a crawl uphill. I understand this is an issue with Chevrolet Impalas. So now I have an $8200 bill for a problem I was never told about, and that GM knew that it existed.
... So, yes, the issue has been identified, reproduced and confirmed by the dealer. The warning light came on when the issue happened, so it was already too late. The issue began with just over 65,000 miles. So I have a 2018 Impala in almost perfect condition in need of an $8200 before taxes, transmission replacement. I would like some help from the NHTSA, like requiring GM to pay for the repairs. Thank You very much.Read more

The engine of vehicle repeatedly failed, causing the vehicle to stall while driving, which posed a serious risk to my safety and others on the road. The vehicle had approximately 65,000 miles and was maintained routinely and on schedule. The failure first occurred before November 18, 2025, when I re
... ported stalling issues to Kia authorized service & parts. The vehicle was returned as “fixed” on December 12, 2025, but the engine stalled again during normal operation. The vehicle was returned to Kia authorized service & parts multiple times (December 12, December 18, December 23, January 9, January 12, 2026, and March 4, 2026), with repeated assurances that it had been repaired. Each time, the car continued to stall, including during a test drive at Subaru, demonstrating that the failure persisted despite repeated dealer intervention. The stalling created a significant hazard, as the car could lose power while on public roads, including highways, potentially leading to accidents. There were no consistent warning lights or messages prior to the engine stalling; the first symptom was intermittent loss of power while driving. The failure has been reproduced and observed by multiple service personnel at Kia authorized service & parts and by Subaru during the trade-in test drive. The component(s) causing the failure were inspected by Kia authorized service & parts staff, but no effective repair was made. Documentation of repair orders and dealer inspections is available for review.Read more

While driving at highway speed, the vehicle experienced a sustained loss of motive power. Despite the accelerator pedal being fully depressed, the vehicle would not accelerate beyond approximately 62 mph. Based on the symptoms and prior service history, the malfunction appears related to the fuel/pr
... opulsion system, engine, or powertrain. The vehicle is currently parked and available for inspection upon request. This failure placed the safety of the occupants and other motorists at risk. The vehicle was unable to safely accelerate, merge, pass, or respond to traffic conditions. Hazard lights were activated, and the vehicle was forced to remain in the slow lane of the highway for an extended period to avoid being struck by faster-moving traffic. The problem was reproducible and occurred repeatedly during the same trip. Acceleration was tested multiple times, and each attempt resulted in the same loss of power with no response to throttle input. The condition persisted for the entire drive. The vehicle has not yet been inspected following this incident. However, the vehicle previously received a manufacturer warranty repair involving replacement of the high-pressure fuel pump, and the manufacturer has issued a warranty extension for this component. The loss of motive power occurred after that repair. No warning lamps, alerts, or messages were observed prior to or during the failure. There were no warning symptoms immediately preceding the loss of motive power. This loss of propulsion at highway speed created a serious and immediate safety hazard due to the inability to maintain normal traffic speed or maneuver safely.Read more

My 2017 Honda HR-V in White Orchid Pearl (NH-788P) has severe paint peeling on multiple panels (hood, roof, door). Honda issued Service Bulletin 19-064 covering this exact defect. However, I have been informed by Honda customer service and Honda dealers that my vehicle is no longer covered because i
... t is 1 year beyond the 7-year extension period, even though the defect matches the exact conditions described in the bulletin. This is clearly a manufacturing defect, not normal wear. A consumer fairness concern, as the defect appears years before what should be the normal paint life of a vehicle. A potential safety concern, since exposed bare metal can lead to rust and structural weakening. I suggest an investigation into whether Honda should expand the paint defect warranty to include affected vehicles beyond the 7-year cutoff. As I believe paint on those defect vehicles don’t usually start peeling until about 7 year old or later and once they start to peel, they peel rapidly. I have attached photos of the peeling paint for your reference. Thank you for your attention to this matter!Read more

My 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan GT driver side sliding door is jammed shut and locked. I took it to 2 dealerships near me and both want almost $1000 per door to fix. Isn’t it dangerous if other kids have to climb in and out the front doors? I’m so confused how this isn’t a recall when it will be dang near impossible to move car seats and kids through front doors or even moving 3rd row to get in and out and put back up for it to be sat in. Since I am just finding out how to file a complaint I figured I would. I still have this car with me. The incident happened about 2 years ago. I was driving down the highway going to Castle Rock Colorado. When all of a sudden my car is thrown into neutral and my rpms go to 6,000. I had no way to ac
... celerate and the car wasn't in gear to help decelerate . Since I was going down the highway at a high rate of speed trucks and cars were all around me.. I immediately turned on my four ways and pulled the car over to the side of the highway. As there was nothing wrong with the motor and it seemed like it was just with the transmission I. Decided to continue but as I continued when I got to 4 gear it would once again throw it out of gear and I couldn't accelerate and I had to pull over. At this point I knew something was wrong. I immediately got the car to a safe area and got it home and the next day got the car to the mechanic. The mechanics said that I needed a new transmission 4 gear is just missing. When the mechanic was putting back together. The very expensive $7,345.00 transmission. He got the parts directly from Lexus and when he went to test, drive the car with the same but new components the transmission immediately failed again, not allowing him to shift in the 4 gear and stalling the car putting him in danger on a busy road. When he got back to his shop he called back to Lexus to verify that the parts that he was given were correct. They verified that the new parts he was given are the old design and that he needed upgraded newer parts that lexus has designed and should have never gotten the other ones . At this point he got the proper parts again and for a second time put the upgrade parts in and it worked . By Lexus not giving the mechanic, the proper upgraded parts. Not only did they put me in danger with the part breaking the first time on the highway they put the mechanic in danger by not giving him the upgraded parts the first time ... thank youRead more
