The contact owns a 2012 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The check engine warning light illuminated after the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the vehicle was diagnosed with a fa
... iled crankshaft sensor. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic, and the contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer. The contact was informed of an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not associated with a recall associated with the failure. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under warranty because the mileage was 3,000 miles over the mileage limitation. The vehicle was scheduled for a diagnostic test with the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 151,000.Read more

As I was backing my 2013 Ford Explorer Base model out of my garage I heard a pop and then my steering started making a grinding/dragging noise. When I pulled onto the street I noticed that my steering wheel would "stick". I went a short distance further down the road and it seemed to stop sticking.
... When I went around a curve towards the left, my steering stuck again and it was harder to get it to "unstick". I returned it back to my home and parked it back in the garage. I see that there is a recall for the steering on the 2013 models, but my VIN is NOT included in this recall. This is a huge safety hazard and could put me out of work, as I care for and transport autistic individuals. This vehicle and my job are my livelihood and this needs to be corrected/recall issued on all of the 2013 models since they all seem to be having similar steering issues. Vehicle has not yet been inspected. Vehicle is available for inspection on request.Read more

The front camera behind the rear view mirror comes up with code and the cruise control will not work and the lane departure system and the forward Collision system and adaptive cruise control. The front camera issue can only be repaired by replacing the camera between 800 and 1500 cost to purchase t
... he camera plus a 5 to $700 Adas aiming at the dealership and I don't feel that that's correct being that almost every single Honda Odyssey I've touched in my repair shop from 2018 till current has this code coming up. Sometimes I can put a scan tool on the vehicle and clear out the code and do a dynamic aim and the vehicle will correct itself but it will come back relatively quickly and sometimes it's impossible and the camera needs to be changed before anything can be done and all of those systems are deactivated until the front forward facing camera has been replaced. I am a mechanic I service a lot of these Honda Odysseys I have a list of items that I find almost every single one has a problem with this particular vehicle I'm sending in about is my personal vehicle and it has had numerous issues that had nothing to do with the operators of the vehicle solely to do with quality of the vehicle front camera is one the sliding door cable housing collapsing too the rear shocks snapping apart at under 50,000 miles front strut mounts going bad at 60,000 miles. There's also an issue with the driver's seat belts fraying in my car in particular frayed in under 12,000 miles More troubling is that every customer I send to the dealer to get things repaired under warranty comes back weather repaired or not without a single item being recorded by the dealer invariably what ends up happening is the dealer will reset some parameter and make the message or error go away. They will then return the car without any documentation stating anything. Once the customer brings it back after warranty is up the dealer charges to replace a repair because the customer has no proof of prior complaintRead more

The problem was confirmed by two (2) dealerships. “ Please see below for recommended repairs on your 2012 E350, VIN - [XXX] Inspection by a different Mercedes Benz dealership reported the following: [XXX] Concern – vehicle is leaking brake fluid from behind the drivers front wheel / tire Cause – Confirmed concern, installed vehicle on lift and found brake fluid dripping from plastic side panel under the drivers door. Brake fluid flush recently completed on vehicle by Portsmouth MB, verified bleeding valves on calipers are tight and not leakingRemoved paneling and found fluid is dripping from wheel well area. Removed left front wheel well cover, and found rear brake lines are leaking due to heavy corrosion and bubbling (see attached photo). Correction – Rear brake lines need to be replaced to repair. Due to corrosion, will require brake hoses due to rotted connections. Lines are formed, fitted and secured by technician during repair (they do not come pre-formed to vehicle). Repair Estimate – Labor ($199.88 / hr) 9 hours (includes diagnostic time), $1798.92 Parts, estimate $690 if no further connections are needed (tax included) Shop supplies, $26.95 Estimate $2520 total repair **Tech notes there is a fuel line running in an area of the brake lines that is showing bubbling in the metal, not yet leaking. This vehicle has suffered from persistent, substantial, and uncorrected defects, including but not limited to failures in the 48V mild-hybrid electrical system, lithium-ion battery system, DC/DC converter and coolant system. These defects have substantially impaired the vehicle’s use, value and sa
... fety as well as my safety, and remain unresolved despite multiple repair attempts at two separate authorized Mercedes-Benz dealerships in St. Louis, MO. SUMMARY OF DEFECTS •Multiple 48 V battery failures and replacements •Multiple replacements of DC/DC converters and failures •Multiple Coolant System failures •Sudden vehicle shutdowns while driving •Numerous non-start issues •Numerous red warning alerts related to the 48 V system •Multiple towing incidents (One involving the police) Despite extensive repair attempts, including replacement of major components, this vehicle continues to fail and is currently still at Mercedes-Benz of St. Louis unrepaired. These repeated repair failures demonstrate the vehicle cannot be repaired to conform with warranty standards. SAFETY INCIDENT My most recent safety incident: On March 10, 2026, this vehicle shut down in the middle of a busy multi-lane roadway, requiring police assistance and emergency towing due to the safety hazard presented. The vehicle has remained in possession of Mercedes-Benz St. Louis since that date (over 45 days) and remains inoperable and unrepaired. This vehicle had also been towed to Plaza Motors two additional times for the same reasons and was there for many days adding to this amount (See attachments). MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS/FAILED REPAIRS The vehicle has been serviced by both: *Plaza Motor Compay, St. Louis *Mercedes-Benz of St. Louis Despite independent repair attempts by both authorized dealerships, the same defects persist. This confirms that the issue is inherent to the vehicle itself, not a service related issue.Read more

While ascending a steep hill in San Francisco, the engine began operating roughly and the check engine light came on and began flashing. Pulled over as soon as possible, let the engine cool, and confirmed in the operator manual that the flashing light indicated severe misfire and possible loss of e
... ngine power. After cooloff and restart, the flashing check engine light went off, but a scanner revealed a pending P0302 error code, indicating a misfire in cylinder 2. On the first restart of the engine, it started roughly before settling down, and I could hear loud water sloshing. On the short drive home, I could continue to feel the engine running roughly on each startup cycle (periodically on the drive since this is a hybrid), indicating to me a blown head gasket. In my research, this seems to be a common issue with this engine or model year (see NHTSA Preliminary Evaluation PE25016 or Bissell v. American Honda Motor Co., Inc. et al). I'm confident that if I continue to drive it, another misfire like this on a hill in San Francisco could easily cause a loss of power, steering, or braking action. I will be taking it in for inspection at a Honda service center. The service representative at my local service center (Berkeley CA) indicated this is a common issue on this car that they see regularly. No prior mechanical issues or engine roughness with the vehicle, or anything that would've indicated an issue prior to this misfire and leak. Regularly serviced as a leased vehicle from Honda dealership until it was purchased 2 years ago from the dealership with 70,000 miles. No major maintenance since purchase besides oil changes, rear differential fluid changes, air filters, and tire replacement.Read more

The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the failure was associated with the braking system. The dealer disconnected and reconnected the battery, and the dealer cleared the codes. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was repaired and returned the vehicle to the contact; however, the contact stated that the dealer had failed to determine the cause of the failure and to perform an adequate repair of the vehicle. See attached document for complaint. I wanted to express my displeasure with the manner in which the above reference recall was conducted. The timeline left many owners with expensive replacement bills for new tires to replace inadequate tires that were installed as OEM on our vans. The message boa
... rds tell a story of frustration for a large group of consumers. As you know the recall was originally made in July of 2022. The notice to dealers went out in September of 2022. Mercedes Benz appeared to really drag their feet on a solution to the issue with the first small number of remedies (219 out of 24,359) in the second quarter of 2024. Remedies did not begin in earnest until the beginning of 2025 almost two and half years after the recall was originally published. As the original ti res were inadequate, I was notified in June of 2023 by your Mercedes-Benz of Pleasanton service center that my tires needed to be replaced at a cost of $1,348. Strange that a dealer would be trying to sell me replacement tires on an item under a recall. I decided in October of 2023 at an odometer reading of only 26,708 to go ahead and replace my tires having given up on your slow roll of the recall remedy. I spent $940 on new tires to replace the inadequate tires. Finally in January of 2025 you notified me that you were prepared to replace my tires if necessary. In April of 2025 at an odometer reading of 34,984 your Mercedes-Benz of Palm Springs service center replaced my "newish" tires with the right size tires. Based on message board activity I think there are many disappointed owners who had a similar experience as evidenced by their comments. I just can't believe a safety recall was left open with no remedy for so long at a great expense and waste. I would ask that you reimburse me for the wasted expenditure of $940 I made in October of 2023 while awaiting your delayed recall solution to make this situation right.Read more

Originally, my CE light came on the first week of July 2025 and threw a Historical P0011 code for my intake Camshaft Variable Timing Solenoid. Light went off, and I took it to my local KIA dealership within a couple of days for a diag. They didn't catch a code, but said that sometimes the P0011 code
... will throw if there is any oil build-up, so they just recommended a 60k mile maintenance about 9k miles early and that it "should clear the code" with a flush. I couldn't afford a $1400 total service so I took it to a service shop nearby for an engine flush and an oil change on 08/08/25. The service shop also got a code for my variable Timing Solenoid and they cleared it after service. After one drive cycle, the CE light came back on, and this time threw a pending code for a Cylinder 2 misfire. The employee at the Auto Parts store said that Cylinder 2 could have a faulty coil and suggested a replacement, which we did. After another drive cycle, the CE light came on once again and threw a code(of unknown status) for a Cylinder 2 and 4 misfire. They advised us that due to the misfires after an oil change, that the Solenoid sounded like the problem afterall. I replaced my Solenoid, and not only did my CE light come on again, but I also experienced misfire, along with white smoke from my exhaust and rough idle. I got one last diag on 08/09/25 and they were able to do a scan, where they found oil had reached my spark plugs, and had noted the walls of my pistons were worn from the pistons knocking the walls. We also noticed that we burned through the entirety of the oil added to my vehicle during my oil change. With all of that information, the mechanic advised me that his best opinion without looking at my internal motor that my Piston Rings are likely worn, causing my misfires, oil consumption, burnt oil, and oil rising past the Piston Rings. We discussed the current recall on 2022 Kia Souls due to faulty Piston Rings and that it could coincideRead more

Our 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 went completely dead on the evening of [XXX]. There were no warning signs/messages prior to it. It just would not start and none of the electrical systems (dashboard, lights etc) worked either. We became aware of the recall involving defective ICCU causing depletion of the 1
... 2 volt battery. We called nearby dealerships but their service departments were closed because it was the weekend. On Monday January 13, 2025, we were able to get in touch with the Hyundai dealership in El Monte, CA. Their service personnel instructed us to jump start the car and bring it in for service, which we did around 8am the same day. Around 2:30pm, we received a call from the El Monte dealership saying that they are not able to address the issues with our car because the dealership who sold us the car (Garden Grove Hyundai), had installed/wired a non-factory-certified GPS device (LoJack) into our car (unbeknownst to us), which was interfering with troubleshooting. The El Monte service person recommended that the car be transferred to the Garden Grove Hyundai dealership. He also stated that he would not recommend driving the car to the Garden Grove dealership since it may pose a safety risk. He said that it's possible that the car may suddenly die without warning while we are driving. We spoke with Hyundai roadside assistance, Hyundai customer care, and then the Garden Grove dealership, only to be told that it is not their responsibility to transfer the car, despite it being a safety risk to drive the car. The Garden Grove service person kept insisting that it's safe to drive the car and to just drive it over, which made us extremely uncomfortable. Nobody has taken ownership/responsibility for what has happened and the customer service has been awful. We have wasted the entire afternoon of January 13, 2025 being on numerous phone calls with no resolution in sight. My 2019 Honda Passport with VIN# ending with**********2184. A safety recall of a faulty fuel pump was dangerous to drive. On multiple occasions during travel, We have had cargo doors and the main entry door open when going down the road. We have been fortunate that we have noticed the door flying open, to where we can quickly stop before losing any cargo. Because these are cargo doors, we carry cargo in these compartme
... nts. When the door flies open, there is a huge risk of cargo flying out of the vehicle and creating a hazard for oncoming motorists (flying through the air or upon the roadway). We have adjusted the latches on these doors to no avail. we get them to where they work and hold fine, then will start coming open again. We believe based on other evidence (missing sidewall lag bolts, loose sidewall lag bolts, bent sidewall lag bolts, popping sounds when raising or lowering unit, broken slide mechanisms, excessive sawdust on the inside of the vehicle, doors on internal cabinets unable to be opened due to interference, millwork trim falling off) that there is a frame failure or suspension issue with this vehicle causing excessive flex. These issues pose a life safety risk to any person traveling on a roadway.Read more

Preventive maintenance doesn't mean replacing one part at the time, there's four wheel bearings on a car and they should be replaced all at once, broken or not.
