The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that on two separate occasions while hauling the camper, the "High Diesel Exhaust Fluid", Exhaust Fluid Range", and "Fill DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) Now" warning messages were displayed on the instrument panel. The messages indica
... ted that the Diesel Exhaust Fluid was low and needed to be replenished. The contact stated that the failure caused the instrument panel to freeze and not operate as needed. Upon attempting to refuel the vehicle, fuel failed to enter the fuel tank since the diesel tank was full. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where the contact was informed that the failure was an electrical glitch and that there were no issues with the Diesel Exhaust Fluid system. The contact was also informed by the dealer of Technical Service Bulletin: 22-NA-150, which the contact related to the failure. The dealer reset the vehicle, which caused the instrument panel to return to normal operation. The manufacturer was then notified of the failure, and the contact was informed that vehicle was not included in the TSB. The contact was given a case number and was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.Read more

At slower speeds and tight turning, there is a clacking sound that occurs. I went to the dealer, and they say it is a known issue, but that Honda doesn't have a fix for it yet and didn't say whether they would fix it or not. I read this has something to do with CV joints and axle, and that is conce

While driving my 2024 Jeep Wagoneer, the vehicle experienced a sudden and complete loss of power without warning. The engine shut off while the vehicle was in motion, including during a turn. When this occurred, I lost power steering, which made the vehicle difficult to control and created an immedi

The vehicle has been taken to the dealership multiple times. A thermostat repair was previously performed, and at a later visit I was told there was an electrical/battery wiring issue that was repaired. Despite these repairs, the problem has continued. The loss of power while driving placed my safety and the safety of others at risk, especially since the failure occurred without warning and resulted in loss of steering assistance. I no longer feel the vehicle is safe to operate, particularly when transporting my children. The issue has been inspected by the dealership on multiple occasions; however, the root cause has not been permanently identified or resolved. Brought the vehicle to the dealer for standard 40,000 mile service. When it was raised on their lift, the rear end dropped out because both driver and passenger side leaf springs had broken at the mount bushings. The springs had been broken for some time, as there was significant rust at the broken
... points. The truck drove normally. This was only discovered once the truck was on a service lift. The weight of the truck was resting on the intact part of the springs, but may have completely disconnected if I had hit a large enough bump while the springs were broken. This would certainly have caused a loss of control, and likely resulted in a crash. The dealer confirmed that this was a manufacturer defect. Despite being past the warranty period, Ford agreed that this is a defect. They used the "Ford ESP" extended service plan to with the cost to perform the repair, though I did not have an extended service contract. I searched the internet, because this should not be possible on a vehicle with this age and mileage. I discovered many reports of similar occurrences on the 2019-2022 Rangers. ... push it to safety with the help of a passerby. Component that failed: Transmission / Power Train – specifically the DL501 S-Tronic Mechatronic Unit (Transmission Control Module). The part is still available for inspection at the dealership. Safety risk: This failure caused a complete loss of propulsion in active traffic, putting both myself and other drivers at risk of a collision. Dealer confirmation: The issue has been inspected and confirmed by an Audi dealership (Audi North Houston). The diagnostic code was P060A00 – “Internal Control Module Processor Performance.” Manufacturer documentation: Audi has previously issued Technical Service Bulletins 35-13-15 and 37-13-17, which identify this same defect as an internal circuit board failure and delamination in the DL501 mechatronic unit. Manufacturer response: Audi of America declined goodwill assistance despite acknowledging a previous case and documentation of this known failure mode. Warning or prior symptoms: A “Gearbox Malfunction – You may continue driving” warning briefly appeared moments before the car lost all power. After stopping, the vehicle could not be restarted or driven, leaving it immobilized in the intersection. Availability for inspection: The failed components and diagnostic report remain available through the Audi dealership that inspected the vehicle.Read more

I bought this car from a Honda dealership in Cincinnati. I searched for this specific year and color. It had about 48k miles on it when I got it. I have only put on 14k miles now. I purchased the warranty. After a year of owning it. My paint on the plastic pieces started to chip off. The mirror is n

There is a class action for the white as well. The honda dealership said Honda corporate should do something about it since I haven't had this car very long. Honda corporate came back and told me that they would have only covered it in the year of 2020 which is silly because the car is a 2020. I purchased it at the end of 2023. So as soon as I got this off of the lot I was [XXX] essentially. I told them that I haven't even put that many miles on the car and they said it didn't matter. Online everywhere talks about the issues with the paint chipping on the plastics and they refuse to recognize it. I was quoted over 1000 to fix the more serious issues but another 400 more to fix everything and that was just for the parts and not the labor. The dealership service manager at Honda recognized this was a problem but corporate doesn't want to do anything about it. The issue started happening a year after I purchased it. I haven't even owned it for a full two years. Not even 14k miles on it since my purchase. Purchased the warranty and they refuse to help. Incident date: Sep 19, 2024
A warning light popped up to tell me this system was disabled on my dashboard, at the same time the system switched to Italian and all of the units of measure switched to metric without warning. I took it in to the dealership and they reset everything, replaced the radio/computer, and assured me eve
... rything was working. Within a week, the same error occurred and the same issues. I took it back to the dealership and they acted like they had no idea why, but would look into it. While waiting I searched online and discovered a notice from Chrysler dated in 2024 saying this issue was occurring and dealerships should just reset the system. I also discovered a multitude of similar issues being reported by other owners of Jeep vehicles across various message boards. When I brought the "Star bulletin" to dealers attention, they admitted they were aware of the issue all along and had no idea when/if it would be fixed as it was an issue with the software in the vehicles themselves that Chrysler would need to fix. So, I was sent home with a vehicle that is not operating correctly. I have to assume the front collision and emergency braking is not working (along with quite a few other features I have discovered), and frankly I have no idea what safety features are or are not working as they could not (or would not) tell me what all was affected.Read more

It locks up the tires randomly to the vehicle in mid acceleration at any speed including 80 miles per hour in one instance for me. -Yes, the dealership inspected it and found the issue to correlate with the newly added section to the service manual, 13333166. This document ID is 5925530 and the added information to the dealership is #21-NA-275. The GMC manufacturer has been contacted as of 3PM MST 3/14/25. Insurance doesn't deal with mechanical problems. This is the most dangerous issue with a vehicle I have ever even considered. At any time, for any reason, all four tires can lock up at any rate of speed and cause multiple casualties. I purchased a used 2009 Pontiac G6 3.9L almost 4 years ago. I have experienced white smoke pouring from under my hood 3 times so far. I've taken it to the dealership and first time was informed it was a bad power steering hose leaking onto the exhaust- preCat area. The second repair dealership said
... it was a faulty hose. The third time dealer said it was a bad motor mount. After extensive research online, found out several years of G6 cars have the high pressure power steering hose about 1 inch from the exhaust pipe. This is causing the hose to melt due to the heat. GMC started making heat protective wrap around these hoses which still does not solve the problem-still burns thru. With a simple online search 2006-2010 G6 with the v-6 engines are still having this problem, costing owners money/time and safety issues. When I saw the white smoke, I lost my power stearing, causing panic and difficult steering. GM should have a recall, find a permanent solution where owners/family can feel safer. Most of these cars have low miles considering the age- Are owners afraid to drive the car due to the power steering hoses and exhaust being too close. Causing more concern for safety, and the costs for repairs and tow trucks.Read more

HONDA CR-V 2000 - I repeatedly contacted dealer in 2020 to get airbag replaced due to recall, but they said they didn't have replacement parts. 11/1/24 I brought car to Honda El Cerrito for airbag replacement due to recall. SRS light was on after their repair, but I didn't know that was a problem. I
... brought the car to another mechanic a couple weeks later for visual inspection prior to sale, and he said SRS light shouldn't be on & go back to dealer. It took awhile to get another appointment due to holidays. About 1/3/25, dealer looked at car again and said it had a faulty airbag inflator (in the airbag they replaced). It took 8 days for them to approve replacing their own faulty inflator. Meanwhile I couldn't drive it. They replaced the airbag, but then informed me the cable reel was broken and not covered under recall warranty. However, nothing was wrong with car prior to bringing it to El Cerrito Honda, other than needing a replacement airbag due to recall. I'm not aware of SRS light being on prior to visiting EC Honda / airbag replacement the first time. Honda El Cerrito is requiring me to pay $650 out of pocket to complete repairs, since cable reel is not covered. However, my understanding now is that it is common practice to replace the cable reel along with airbag, due to the fact cable reel sometimes breaks during replacing airbag, and it is a sensitive necessary part for SRS function. Honda Corporation says cable reel is not included in the recall / warranty, so this is an out-of-pocket expense to me / consumers. I believe Honda El Cerrito either damaged the cable reel or is requiring me to replace it bc it's common practice with airbag replacement. However they are simply putting the cost & responsibility on me due to age & miles of car. I believe this part (cable reel) should be included in Honda's warranty if it is common practice to replace it along with airbags, since their airbags are on recall. Consumer should not have extra cost due to recall.Read more

The sensor witch detects if the front and rear differential lockers is engaged or not has quit working. Once I looked into it, the sensor was full of diff oil causing it to stop working. I then found out it has been such a big issue that Jeep has a National back order on the part to replace it. The
... parts were found to be leaking in almost all Jeeps tested. That component is a major part to the off-road capability. I found myself in the back of my local national forest and unable to get unstuck because I drove through mud that would have been no problem if my lockers work functioning properly. If it weren’t for me owning an emergency satellite transponder I honestly don’t know how myself and my twelve year old would have made it out. I live in the middle of grizzly bears. Spoke to Jeep and was told “they know it’s a major issue but won’t fix them until told to do so”Read more

Inability to shift gears on acceleration
The Office of Defects Investigations (ODI) analyzed complaint data provided by Ford as well as complaints submitted to ODI from consumers. In total, there were 364 unique reports indicating various shift quality issues while driving.Ford identified several factors that may contribute to shift quality
... concerns in the subject vehicles, including cold transmission, clutch stay-out at high engine speeds, gear clash or grinding, and gradual loosening of clutch plate bolts in some early production vehicles. The largest percentage of complaints indicated higher than expected shift efforts in cold ambient temperatures. These complaints were related to transmission fluid viscosity and the higher shift efforts resolved themselves with the drivetrain warming.Ford published technical service bulletin TSB 11-3-18 to inform technicians that a lower viscosity fluid was available for use to address the cold shift issues. The clutch stay-out condition typically occurs at engine speeds greater than 4000 rpm.It does not prevent the selection of any gear, but may delay clutch re-engagement depending on how long the driver maintains the higher engine speed.Ford identified rotating inertia of the clutch components as the root cause and replacement clutch pedal parts were made available under Ford TSB 10-19-4.A number of reports alleged increasing difficulty selecting gears along with gear clash or grinding.Grinding or notchy gear shifts may be caused by gradual loosening of clutch plate fasteners, which is promoted by certain aggressive shifting. This condition is progressive in nature and initially results in symptoms related to shift quality/feel.Clutch plate bolt loosening will not result in inability to select any gear unless the progressive symptoms are ignored until complete clutch failure occurs.ODI?s analysis identified only five complaints alleging an inability to shift into gear due to loose clutch plate bolts.None of these resulted in a stall and gear shifting could occur before engine start.A revised fastener was designed and implemented in production and is available for service through a special service message. There is no indication of loss of motive power or unreasonable safety risk associated with the alleged defect in the subject vehicles. This preliminary evaluation is closed.Read more

ACCELERATOR PEDAL INTERFERENCE
ON APRIL 3, 2006, FORD MOTOR COMPANY SUBMITTED A DEFECT INFORMATION REPORT TO NHTSA CONCERNING A DEFECT CONDITION THAT COULD RESULT IN INTERFERENCE BETWEEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND FLOOR CARPETING IN APPROXIMATELY 19,140 MODEL YEAR 2003 AND 2004 MUSTANG COBRA VEHICLES (FORD RECALL NO. 06S43/NHTSA R
... ECALL 06V-108, COPY ATTACHED).FORD WILL RECALL THE VEHICLES TO INSTALL A SHIELD BENEATH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO PREVENT THE PIVOT PIN ON THE REAR SURFACE OF THE PEDAL FROM COMING INTO CONTACT WITH THE FLOOR CARPETING DURING HEAVY THROTTLE APPLICATION.IN THOSE VEHICLES WHERE THE FLOOR CARPETING DOES NOT FIT FLUSH WITH THE SHEET METAL, THE UNIQUE REAR SURFACE PROFILE OF THE MUSTANG COBRA PEDAL MAY ALLOW THE PIVOT PIN OF THE PEDAL TO CATCH IN THE CUTOUT ON THE FLOOR CARPETING BEHIND THE PEDAL, INTERFERING WITH THE PEDAL'S ABILITY TO RETURN; THE RESULT OF WHICH COULD BE UNEXPECTED, CONTINUED THROTTLE APPLICATION.DURING THE ENGINEERING ANALYSIS STAGE OF THE INVESTIGATION, ODI ALSO EXAMINED THE POSSIBLITY OF THE SAME PHENOMENA OCCURING IN NON-COBRA MUSTANGS.HOWEVER, THE DIFFERENT DESIGN OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDALS ON THE NON-COBRA MUSTANGS RESULTS IN SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCES IN THE POTENTIAL CONTACT BETWEEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THE CARPETING, WITH THE BASE OF THE PEDAL PAD ACTING TO FORCE THE CARPET AWAY FROM THE PIVOT PIN.THIS ENGINEERING ANALYSIS HAS BEEN CLOSED.Read more

ACCELERATOR PEDAL INTERFERENCE
PE05-038 WAS OPENED ON JULY 7, 2005, WITH 11 CONSUMER COMPLAINTS TO ODI ALLEGING INCIDENTS OF THROTTLE STICKING DUE TO ACCELERATOR PEDAL INTERFERENCE WITH THE CARPET.ODI HAS RECEIVED AN ADDITIONAL 24 COMPLAINTS SINCE THE PE WAS OPENED.DURING PE05-038, FORD SUPPLIED COMPLAINT AND WARRANTY INFORMATION
... REGARDING 86 ADDITIONAL INCIDENTS OF ACCELERATOR PEDAL INTERFERENCE IN MODEL YEAR 2003 TO 2004 MUSTANG COBRA VEHICLES.EIGHTY-FIVE OF THESE HAD CONCERNS OF ACCELERATOR PEDAL STICKING, 70 OF WHICH WERE ANALYZED AS BEING RELATED TO CARPET INTERFERENCE.ODI IS CONTINUING ITS ANALYSIS OF THE CAUSAL FACTORS IN THE REMAINING 15 INCIDENTS.THIS PRELIMINARY EVALUATION HAS BEEN UPGRADED TO AN ENGINEERING ANALYSIS.Read more
