Vehicle experienced loss of power while in travel down a mountain. After inspection by a mechanic, CP4 pump had a catastrophic failure sending metal shards throughout the fuel system. This was less than a month after Fords SAFETY RECALL 24S78 that failed to remedy the problem, but before recall Number26V158 was issued.
SERVICE BRAKES Mar 31, 2026
This vehicle was delivered yesterday to my son through Autonation Sanford [XXX] . The CARFAX report stated a pre delivery inspection was done prior. On the way home he experienced loud screeching from the front wheels. Turns out $1650 later he needed new brakes and rotors. That is negligence, and fraud, especially with a commercial vehicle intended on towing a fishing boat. This was underhanded and a disgusting pattern of behavior. In addition, the open fixable recall was NOT completed as we just found out from searching the VIN on your website. The managers name is [XXX] , I have reached out to him to rectify this situation, and no call back. Truly grotesque, taking advantage of a [XXX] kid. Component: Air Conditioning / Heater Subject: Recurrent HVAC System Failure - Passenger-Side Temperature Control Malfunction I am reporting a recurring failutre of the vehicle's HVAC system affecting the passenger-side temperature control. Specifically the passenger-side air vents intermittently and repeatedly blowing hot air while the driver-side continue to operate normally with cooled air. This condition results in inconsistent cabin temperature control andrenders the air conditioning system ineffective for occupants on the passenger side. Timeline of Failures and Repairs: July 2023: Initial occurrence of passenger side hot air condition. Vehicle was taken to authorized Ford dealership (McRee Ford). Repairs were performed; however the specific root cause either identified or not permanently corrected as another recurrence happened August 2025: Took it back to McRee Ford due to an identical issue reoccurred where the passenger side was blowing hot air. They attempted to repair with the same technician and was again only a temporary resolution as the issue again occurred March 2026: Passenger side blowing hot air for the third time. Took it to a different authorized Ford dealership (Cook Ford) where again, it was identified as a blend door actuator issue. Safety Concern: While the issue may appear to be a comfort concern, it presents a potential safety risk in high temperature environments such as Texas. (Heat related stress or illness for passengers) Multiple authorized dealership seem to be unable to resolve the issue. Currently vehicle is with Cook Ford and was advised that additional funding would be needed for a permanent fix. I've already been financially burdened with taking the vehicle twice to McRee Ford and now a third time to Cook Ford for the same issue, and being told upfront that the failure may again happen. I request an investigation into this matter and HVAC issue. Thank you.

02/04/2026 69k miles. I brought my vehicle in because I got a check engine light on the dash and had loss of power. Was informed that my fuel pump had failed and sent metal shards through the whole fuel system. The damage was covered by the recall, which also included reprogramming of the tcm and pcm. Was then told that the reflash of those systems was a failure, and that the Ford Motor Company was working on a remedy. My dealership has since completed a full fuel system replacement, and there still isn't a fix for the programming issue. This is a revenue generating vehicle, and the only one, for my small business. I lost many clients due to inability to perform the work I was contracted to do. My dealership did offer me a loaner vehicle, but it's not one that can perform the work that my truck was able to do, and was told not to use the vehicle for any commercial work or towing, as thats not allowed. Ive reached out to customer relations to get updates, and have had no help from them, save for telling me they're working on it, and will hope to have a remedy soon.

I was driving the truck and suddenly smoke came out from behind the radio. I stopped and checked and saw that the truck was on fire. I immediately tried to turn it off with the few water bottles that I had with me. I had no luck and the entire truck burned up.

Good Morning, Ms. Edds My name is [XXX] . I spoke to you a few years back in regards, to a vehicle I had. Well, today I am writing about another situation . I have a 2020 Ford F250 vin [XXX] . Since purchasing this vehicle, I have had recall after recall on it and getting nowhere with Ford Motor Company Customer Service Division. I have a local dealership that I have taken it to Spalding Ford who does not take the time to look at the vehicle when I tell them there is an issue and what it is doing all they do is make 1 excuse after another and then about a week or so goes by and I get a recall letter about the issue I just complained about. The last time it was at this dealership they cracked my windshield and said they get back with me about getting it fixed so far nothing and I have called a number of times and now being told they had no idea about it. It has been several months but guess that is going to have to fall on me because no one wants to take accountability of their own actions. I have 3 outstanding recalls in which I complained about before the recall came into effect. I contacted a dealership located in the next county over who willingly sent a tech to my house for a recall when the tech got here he was unable to fix the recall do to the Ford Motor Company Customer Service Division running errors in their system and was unable to do the update. I have also complained about having steering issues and was told no there is nothing wrong but then all of a sudden, I received a recall letter. NHTSA Complaint Text (Copy/Paste) Vehicle: 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty 6.7L Power Stroke Recall: 24S78 – Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Software Update Complaint: Ford has issued Recall 24S78 for the high-pressure fuel pump defect on my 2020 F-250, but the company has not provided an actual remedy. The recall shows as open on my VIN, and Ford’s documentation says a PCM software update is the fix, but Ford released the software and then pulled it back within a week. My dealership confirmed Ford removed the remedy from their system, so they cannot perform the recall at all. This leaves my truck exposed to a known safety defect with no available repair. The high-pressure fuel pump failure this recall addresses can cause sudden loss of power, engine stall, or complete shutdown while driving. Until a working remedy is released, I’m driving a truck that Ford has admitted has a serious safety defect, but they have not provided any fix or timeline. I am requesting NHTSA investigate why the remedy was withdrawn, why no replacement remedy has been provided, and why Ford is leaving owners with a known safety risk for an extended period. This is an expensive vehicle, and the defect can cause catastrophic engine damage and create a hazardous situation on the road. Owners deserve an effective recall remedy that is actually available. Not exactly sure when the recall was first brought to light but I do know it has been months now.

My cp4 fuel pump failed on my 2020 ford f250 and died while towing my 7000lb trailer for my business and had to get towed to shop to find out the entire fuel system needs replaced and ford dealer has it and says because recall 24s78 for my vehicle is on pause that there is nothing they can do about it and I’m stuck without my truck which I need for my business and believe ford is responsible to replace the fuel system with no charge to me when the cp4 pump is such a common failure in my trucks!

2020 Ford F250 with 85,000 miles. We purchased new and all maintenance has been done on time and by Ford Service. Transmission began jerking when going from park to drive (or reverse). Noticeable lunging of the vehicle when putting into gear. This began in December 2025. This is a safety concern if anyone is in front of or behind the vehicle when this happens. The truck jumps. Now the transmission is not shifting gears smoothly when the truck is in motion. This is a known problem with trucks manufactured during this time period with 10R80 transmissions. Ford has been less than helpful in helping me come to a resolution. They tell me there was a TSB sent out. They attempted to reprogram software (at a cost of $424 to me). I will upload the invoice from Ford. This only made the problem worse. They quoted me a "special price" of $8,500 to replace the transmission, however their service department is SIX WEEKS out. For this reason we have chosen to have the transmission replaced at a local transmission shop. Their price is $9,932.41. I have attached that invoice. Ford needs to take accountability for this safety problem and attempt to make these vehicles safe. They should absorb at least some of the cost to fix this design problem. We paid full price to purchase a new, safe vehicle. That is not what we received. Rather than a "Technical Service Bulletin", Ford should be forced to do a recall and make this right for customers who paid top dollar for these vehicles.

when passing another vehicle in a passing zone, with gas pedal fully depressed, there is a 2 or 3 second lag time after releasing the gas pedal before the truck actually stops accelerating. this has happened since I bought the truck brand new from the dealership. first few times it happened it scared the hell out of me. I had to apply the brakes hard in order for it to slow down. I brought it back to the dealer to have it looked at (while having the windsheild wiper recall repaired). the ford mechanic stated that that was just the way it is. he also said others have had this problem as well but there was no factory directive to fix it. The problem still occurs to this day but since i am used to it and expect it It is not as terrifying. but still, this is a obvious safety problem.

door lock actuator on passenger side door has stopped working. cannot unlock or lock the passenger side door from drivers side or outside of passenger side. from inside, driver must reach across vehicle by undoing seat belt, usually with car running, sometimes with transmission in drive, to manually unlock passsenger door for passenger. This has been a common complaint on Ford Forums. It is evidently affecting many trucks. Please put out a recall on this problem. Thanks

Rear camera displays a black distorted image for roughly 5 seconds, then a completely black screen meanwhile instructing to contact dealer. Dealer says that even though Ford announced a 15 year extended warranty, it is not attached to any VINs. Therefore they will not honor their statement from the Chief Operating Officer on October 22, 2025 on the Ford website. Dealer at Metro Ford advised me there was no way possible to escalate case, or send an email for guidance on the issue. Refused.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Nov 20, 2025
I am filing a complaint regarding a safety defect on my 2020 Ford F-250 (VIN: [XXX] ), which is included in NHTSA Recall 24V-957 (Ford Recall 24S78). I received Ford’s recall notice prior to the failure of the high-pressure fuel pump. When I contacted Ford at that time, I was informed that the recall remedy was not yet available. In March 2025, the high-pressure fuel pump failed suddenly while I was transporting livestock in a towed trailer with my three children in the truck. The vehicle experienced an abrupt loss of power in traffic and became unable to move. We had to remain stopped until a tow truck arrived, creating a significant safety hazard for my family and other drivers. The Ford dealer documented the failure as “high pressure pump froze up and cracked high pressure pump,” which caused metal contamination throughout the fuel system and required complete replacement of the pump, injectors, rails, lines, and a fuel tank flush. The total repair cost was $16,574.44, which I paid out of pocket. Ford has stated they cannot process reimbursement until the recall remedy becomes available, despite federal regulations allowing reimbursement for repairs completed after notification of a safety defect. I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance in ensuring Ford complies with the recall reimbursement requirements and continues to monitor this defect due to the sudden and dangerous nature of these failures. Thank you for your attention. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL Nov 13, 2025
The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-250. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 24V957000 (Fuel System, Diesel) and 25V626000 (Steering); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. While the contact’s husband was driving approximately 45-50MPH, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power and power steering functionality. The driver coasted to the side of the road, and the vehicle became inoperable. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who determined that the high-pressure fuel pump (CP4 pump) had failed and there were metal fragments inside the fuel line. The CP4 pump was replaced. The dealer confirmed that the recall repairs were not completed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 97,000.

POWER TRAIN Nov 10, 2025
The transmission would hang up in 7th gear when stopping at red light, caution light or stop signs without warning. It would roll like normal when letting of brakes however when out in the middle of traffic stop signs or caution lights the truck would not move and would not shift as it was hung in 7th gear. The only way to get the truck back in 1st gear was to place the truck in park and turn the ignition off then restart the vehicle. This has happened 3 different times post bringing the truck to silsbee ford for a ecm and tcm reprogram. Originally called dealer back to reports extreme rough shifting and was told they did not mess with anything in the transmission and it was not due to anything they did, never received a call back from manager. No warning lights messages ever appeared to show the transmission had failed to down shift into first gear at the stop lights. All three of these events happened while my 7 year old child was in the truck and two of the times it was a near miss and narrowly avoided accidents. Prior to this since around 50,000 miles truck would shift rough with rough engagement into 3,4th,5th,6th, gears with frequent flare shifts and was told by dealers this was normal characteristic of the transmission.
STEERING Nov 6, 2025
Safety of all people are affected by driving my truck with a steering wheel that might separate and cause a crash.. no loaner until fixed ...
STEERING Oct 31, 2025
On October 29, 2025, while traveling around a sweeping freeway transition ramp at 65 MPH in my 2020 Ford F-250 (46k miles on it), I hit a bump in the road. Suddenly the truck began violent, uncontrollable shaking of the front end of the truck and the steering wheel, feeling like the truck was about to fall apart. This terrifying, chaotic event caused me to struggle to steer and maintain control of the vehicle, sending me into the center divide. My son in law and 2 year old grandson were in the vehicle with me, visibly shaken by the event. Thankfully I was not pulling my travel trailer at the time, this could have ended in a critical situation. No warning lamps illuminated. Ford is aware of this issue and previously ordered a "customer satisfaction" repair, but that only covers 2017-2019 trucks. The truck is scheduled to be taken to the Ford dealership today 10/31/2025, however we are unclear whether there will be a cost for the repair.
FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Oct 28, 2025
We have had this truck a total of two months. The dealer told us that there were not recalls on it, come to find out there are two. The recalled part froze up and shattered that shot metal shavings all through the fuel system. This caused the truck to lose all power and shut down on a busy road which could have led to a major accident had it not been after rush hour. After towing the truck to a repair shop, we found out about the recalls. Come to find out, the warranty company nor Ford will pay to fix the vehicle due to nothing available. How are we the consumer liable for this when it is under recall and Ford has been working on a fix for a year? We have been told a fix would be around $10,000.
UNKNOWN OR OTHER Oct 27, 2025
Leaving him with Grandbaby and when we stopped I went to get her out of her car seat but the passenger side rear would not unlock. What would happen if the car was on fire and the door lock would not work properly. The driver said will rarely work properly with the physical key itself and now the auto locks don't work. Cannot believe this is not required to be repaired as it really jeopardizes the safety of infants in car seats. Such a easy fix for this type of possible safety issue. I have 3 Ford trucks and 1 Ford Explorer but very concerned the newest is a accident waiting to happen with one of my Grandkids and these inoperative locks.
