Crash
I have about 6,000 miles on the vehicle which was purchased new. There were 2 incidents prior to 2/15/26 (the 3rd incident), but it was only this 3rd incident whereby I could identify the problem. The 2 early incidents I only experienced the smell of burning rubber when driving and exiting the vehicle. Which, i couldn't fathom where it was coming from. And, there was probably a month between incidents. This latest 2/15/26 incident, I was driving and started smelling rubber again, but now I happened to have my fuel mileage indicator on and saw my fuel indicator drop from it's normal average of 17mpg to about 6 mpg. I immediately suspected the parking brake had independently engaged but there was no light or any indication of that on my dashboard screen. I pulled over, turned the engine off, got out and smelt strong scent of rubber burning. While standing next to the vehicle (the engine is off mind you) and making a note of this event on my phone, I heard hydraulics start and stop underneath the truck . That made me suspect the parking brakes even more. I got in, started up, and drove. All was back to normal, no more burning rubber or bad mileage. There's a software glitch PROBLEM here and I have to believe I'm not the only one! After this, I'll be reaching out to Ford to see what they're going to do.
I was driving down HWY 79 in South Dakota. It was 3:00 pm on Saturday Jan. 31st. Out of know where, with not a single vehicle within eyesight, my sunroof exploded. It sounded like a gun shot went off right above my head, and there was glass flying everywhere. This 100% was not due to another vehicle throwing an object up in the air. There was not another vehicle anywhere. After researching this on the internet, it seems this is a reoccurring issue with these Fords that Ford is not taking accountability for. I called the local dealer and was told it would not be covered under warrantee.
The pre collision system on this truck is not working, dealer tried twice to fix it and says it is working, but they can’t test it and make it work in real word conditions.
The info system (Bluetooth) is not working and makes a high piercing noise. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The safety of others is at risk due to the fact that you can only use your phone in your hand in this vehicle. The state of South Carolina where this vehicle was purchased and used passed a law on September 1, 2025 (Hands-Free and Distracted Driving Act) banning handheld cell phone use. The vehicle has been to two different Ford dealerships and has been at the most recent since December 3, 20025 until present. The vehicle has been inspected with several attempts to repair without success. The problems started the first week of ownership with no prior warning.
When backing up the brakes will lockup
When I was pulling out of the gas station parking lot on Dec 15th, 2025, I pressed the gas and heard a noise that sounded like high RPMs. I then approached the intersection and attempted to press the brake and the brake would not press in, it was hard. My truck then continued to move forward. I attempted to turn the steering wheel as a truck was coming at me. The steering wheel would not turn or move at all. I was stuck in the middle of an intersection after it rolled to a stop. I turned on my flashers and looked at the dashboard to make sure my truck was in drive, which it was. A message was also displayed on the dashboard. It said accessory mode. I could hear my truck running. I cleared the message by pressing the ok button on the steering wheel. I put it in park and then into drive and the same message displayed again on the dashboard. I decided to turn off my truck and pressed the push button to turn it off (my foot was off the brake as I don’t need to press the brake to turn my truck off) and the starter engaged and I put the truck in drive and was able to press the brake and turn the steering wheel. I slowly drove the short distance home and called my husband which he instructed me to call Evansville Ford in Evansville, WI and had my truck towed there. Obviously, not having steering or brakes is a HUGE safety issue. Less than 24 hours earlier I had my entire family in that truck driving on the interstate. I can’t image that we would be alive if I had lost brakes and steering on the interstate. As of Dec 19th 2025, Evansville Ford has stated that they cannot find any issues, nor replicate the problem and returned my truck. My truck is currently available for inspection at my residence.

The rearview camera intermittently blacks out when shifting into reverse and sometimes while driving forward. This occurs randomly and creates a serious safety hazard when backing up a large vehicle, as visibility is compromised. I have also experienced repeated warning messages stating, “Parking brake not fully functioning” and “Hill Start Assist not available, see dealer” These warnings appear in a barrage without cause and then disappear once vehicle is restarted, suggesting an electrical or software fault. I have multiple videos and pictures dated and timed as proof. I have taken the truck to the Ford dealer 3–4 times. Each time, the dealer states “no issue found” and has not provided a fix. The problem continues to occur despite these repair attempts. I have videos and pictures of these incidents. The upload system does not let me upload videos! The blackout of the rearview camera and false brake system warnings substantially impair the safe operation of the vehicle. Other Ford trucks have already been recalled for similar rearview camera defects, but my VIN is not included. Brenneman/Murphy Ford said a fix was coming in Q3, but here I am still waiting. I believe this defect should be investigated and addressed under recall or warranty coverage immediately.
Rear view camera system is intermittent and the dealer has been unable to resolve the issue. This is a large vehicle and it is very dangerous to back up without this camera working.
Crash
The contact owns a 2025 Ford F-250 SD. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70-75 MPH, there was an abnormal sound coming from the sunroof, and the contact discovered that the sunroof glass had shattered. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the vehicle could be repaired; however, the vehicle had to be left with the dealer for seven to ten days. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 6,200.
I purchased a brand-new 2025 Ford F-250 Super Duty on April 1, 2025. The truck has an intermittent and ongoing issue where the dashboard displays “Park Brake Limited Function” or “Park Brake Service Required.” I took the vehicle to the authorized Ford dealer, but they told me the problem cannot be repaired. However, when I contacted Ford corporate customer service, they claimed the issue is known and can be repaired, and referred me to safety department complain This contradiction between Ford and the dealer is unacceptable. The issue affects the functionality and safety of the vehicle, and it remains unresolved. I request that NHTSA investigate this issue and pressure Ford to provide a consistent, repairable solution
When driven the vehicle approximately 60 miles I had to fight to keep it on the road. Hoffman found suspension was out, the vehicle is chasing the road when driving highway speeds (I upload the findings). This started from the time I purchased the vehicle until now. I purchased the truck from Mark Ficken Ford Lincoln, 7601 South Blvd., Charlotte, NC on [XXX], and left for Middletown, CT the day after. I had to drive at a low speed to keep the Truck on the road. I didn't test drive it because it was new. It is still in the shop for the 3rd time for the same problem. It is not safe to drive. It is dangerous for me and others. The shop does not seem to know how to fix the problem. Ford Motor Company has been notified but has not corrected the problem. I took it to Hoffman Ford in CT and it is there now. The Truck has been in the shop more than I use it. The first two times it was in the shop, they didn't even authorize a rental vehicle for me to drive. It's in the shop now and they did authorize a rental this time. The case # with Ford Motor Company is [XXX], Melanie Krupa, case manager, phone 866-631-3788 ext.79412 email:

Trailer brake controller was at first intermittently failing with message “trailer disconnected” appearing on dashboard. Now > 2,000 miles trailer brakes are not working. Vehicle was updated with SSM 53889 which did not resolve the issue.
