FORD IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 RANGER TRUCKS BUILT FROM JANUARY 25, 2011, THROUGH APRIL 25, 2011 AT THE TWIN CITIES ASSEMBLY PLANT, AND SERVICE PARTS DISTRIBUTED TO DEALERS FOR CERTAIN 2004 THROUGH 2011 MODEL YEAR RANGER TRUCKS, 2002 THROUGH 2005 MODEL YEAR EXCURSION VEHICLES, AND 2002 THROUGH 2007 MODEL YEAR F-250, F-350, F-450, AND F-550 TRUCKS FOR FAILING TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT." THE MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH WAS SHIPPED WITH A SUBCOMPONENT (SLIDER) THAT MAY EXPERIENCE DEFORMATION. A MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH WITH A DEFORMED SLIDER MAY MALFUNCTION CAUSING THE TURN SIGNAL, TAIL LIGHTS, HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL FLASHERS AND/OR BRAKE LIGHTS NOT TO ACTIVATE.

2004 FORD F250 SD 6.0L SPUTTERS, LUNGES & DIES OUT WHEN IDLE, WAITING IN TRAFFIC OR DRIVING SLOWLY. LUCKILY, IT'S BEEN STARTING RIGHT BACK UP. IT HAS BEEN OCCURRING QUITE OFTEN LATELY. LOOKED UP POSSIBLE CAUSES AND FOUND RECALL 05V270000 FROM 2005, WHICH SEEMS TO BE THE EXACT ISSUE I AM HAVING. CALLED FORD AND WAS TOLD THERE ARE ZERO RECALLS PERTAINING TO THIS TRUCK AND THAT THAT PARTICULAR RECALL DOES NOT INCLUDE MY TRUCK. I HAVE SEEN MANY OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME EXACT VEHICLE AND HOW THIS ISSUE HADN'T BEEN COVERED UNDER SAID RECALL. I HAVE THE NHTSA RECALL NO EA05003, BUT IT HAS TIMED OUT AND IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING ON THIS SITE. PLEASE REALIZE THAT ALL THESE SAME VEHICLE OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME DANGEROUS ISSUE AND IT ISN'T BEING TAKEN SERIOUSLY BY FORD OR THE NHTSA.

THE PARKING BRAKES WERE NEVER VERY EFFECTIVE AND DESPITE BEING REPAIRED SEVERAL NOTHING HAS BEEN ABLE TO IMPROVE THEM. THE TRUCK HAS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DISC REAR BRAKES. IT IS DANGEROUS TO PARK IT ON A HILL EVEN IF ITS LEFT IN GEAR.

ON SATURDAY, 6/2/18, MYSELF, HUSBAND AND ANOTHER PASSENGER WERE INVOLVED IN AN INCIDENT IN GOOCHLAND COUNTY, VA. ROAD CONDITIONS WERE NORMAL, NO ROUGH ROAD, POTHOLES AND NO ITEMS IN ROADWAY. WE WERE TRAVELING ON A RURAL, TWO LANE ROAD WITH NO SIDE SHOULDERS(JUST TREES) WHEN OUR LEFT REAR TIRE STARTED VIBRATING AND MAKING A STRANGE NOISE. BEFORE WE HAD TIME TO SLOW DOWN, WE HEARD LOUD BANGING AND CRUNCHING. SEEING AS THERE WAS NO PLACE TO PULL OVER, WE HAD TO STOP AND INVESTIGATE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LANE. WHAT WE SAW WAS A STILL FULLY INFLATED TIRE, WITH THE TREAD TORN OFF AND FLAPPING. THIS COMPLETELY DESTROYED THE BED AND WHO KNOWS POSSIBLY WHAT ELSE OF OUR TRUCK. THE TIRES HAVE GOOD TREAD LIFE, WERE INFLATED TO THE MANUFACTURER SUGGESTED PRESSURE AND WERE NOT DRY ROTTED OR WORN UNEVENLY. WE HAD TO HAVE THE TRUCK TOWED AN HOUR BACK HOME BECAUSE OF THE CONDITION. I HAVE REACHED OUT TO THE MANUFACTURER AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET ANYWHERE WITH THEM. THIS IS NOT A FLUKE, SEEING AS I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE COMPLAINING ON HERE ABOUT THIS ISSUE. WE WERE EXTREMELY LUCKY THAT WE WERE NOT INJURED OR EVEN KILLED. OUR TIRES ARE 33X12.50X16.5 BF GOODRICH ALL TERRAIN T/A KO. PICTURED BELOW IS THE PROOF OF TIRE TREAD SEPARATION AND DAMAGE DONE TO MY VEHICLE.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE, AND APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. IT WAS LATER DISCOVERED THAT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WOULD NO LONGER FUNCTION. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, THE CONTACT PARKED, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, AND EXITED THE VEHICLE. UPON RETURNING TO THE VEHICLE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT IT HAD ROLLED APPROXIMATELY 30 FEET FROM THE ORIGINAL PARKED POSITION. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 124,000.

"FICM & ICP RECALL" RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD JULY 2005 IN REGARDS TO FAULTY FICM AND ICP. THE FICM WAS REPAIRED AUGUST 2005 BY A FORD DEALERSHIP. NOTE, WE DID NOT HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH THE TRUCK PRIOR TO THE FIX. JANUARY 2006 WE HAD TO TAKE THE TRUCK INTO THE SHOP DUE TO THE ENGINE RUNNING ROUGH WHILE IDLING AND ACCELING; THE FICM WAS REPLACED DUE TO A SHORT; THE ISSUE THAT WAS JUST FIXED ON THE TRUCK. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 5 TIMES SINCE JANUARY 2006 AND HAS COST US OVER $11,000 OUT OF POCKET TO TRY AND RESOLVE THIS ISSUE THAT STARTED AFTER THE INITIAL RECALL FIX. WE HAVE CONTACTED FORD HDQRS AND THEY ADVISED TO TAKE THE TRUCK INTO THE DEALERSHIP WHICH WE DID MULTIPLE TIMES. OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS THE SURGING HAS BECOME INCREASINGLY WORSE. WHILE TRAVELING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON I5 PULLING A 30' 5TH WHEEL TRAILER, THE TRUCK SURGED FORWARD UNEXPECTEDLY JUST MISSING THE CAR IN FRONT OF US. A FEW WEEKS AGO I WAS STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION, WHEN I BEGAN TO TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE TO MOVE FORWARD THE TRUCK SURGED FORWARD 3 FEET. I WAS LUCKY THERE WASN'T ANOTHER CAR CLOSE OR A PERSON IN THE STREET. JUST THE OTHER DAY I WAS PARALLEL PARKING AND WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS TO BACK UP A LITTLE THE TRUCK SURGED BACKWARD ALMOST HITTING THE CAR IN BACK OF THE TRUCK. THE TRUCK ALSO STALLS JUST BEFORE COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP OCCASIONALLY. THIS ISSUE HAS BECOME EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IN THAT I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE TRUCK. I LOOKED INTO THE CALIFORNIA LEMON LAW AND IT SOUNDS LIKE THE TRUCK MIGHT BE COVERED UNDER THIS. WE NEED TO GET RID OF THIS TRUCK BUT FEEL FORD DOES NOT STANDS BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. THIS IS THE 8TH SEPARATION OUT OF 11 TIRES THEY HAVE ALL HAPPENED AFTER ABOUT 2 HOURS OF HIGHWAY DRIVING THIS ONE BLOW AND CAUSED ABOUT 2300 DOLLARS OF DAMAGE TO MY TRUCK NOT INCLUDING THE TIRE 3 MILES SOUTH OF IOLA KANSAS COMING FROM INDEPENDENCE MISSOURI IT GAVE ABOUT 3 TO 5 SECONDS OF BOBBLE AND AS I APPLIED THE BRAKES TO PULL OVER IT BLEW. THIS CAUSED THE TRUCK TO GO INTO THE ON COMING TRAFFIC AND I WAS JUST ABLE TO GET CONTROL OF THE TRUCK AND GET IT OFF THE ROAD.BF GOODICH CLAIM THERE IS NOT A PROBLEM WITH THIS TIRE BUT I HAVE DISCOVERED WHY THEY SAY THAT. THIS SIZE OF TIRE USUALLY IS PURCHASED FOR JEEPS AND SMALL PICKUP WEIGHING 3000 TO 4000 POUNDS BUT IS RATED FOR E LOAD WHEN YOU USED THE TIRE ON A LIGHTER VEHICLE IT DOES NOT HEAT UP BUT MY PICKUP IS 9000 LBS. BEFORE THIS LAST TRIP I HAD COSTCO CHECK THE TIRES AND AIR PRESSURE THE DAY BEFORE THE TRIP AND I CHECKED THEM ON THE DAY OF THE TRIP. SO I KNOW THEY WERE AIR TO THE REQUIRED PRESSURE. DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY , COMPLETE LOSS OF THROTTLE BUT THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING AT A LOW AMPERAGE. WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND TURNED IT OFF. IT WOULDN'T START BACK UP RIGHT AWAY. HAD TO WAIT A WHILE IT WOULD START AND LIMPED IT HOME. NO PROBLEMS FOR A FEW DAYS, THEN IT STARTED ACTING UP AGAIN. A COUPLE TIMES IT WOULD START, BUT AT A LOW IDLE WITH NO RESPONSE OF THE GAS PEDDLE. THE FINAL STRAW WAS LAST WEEK. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY TO WORK. EACH TIME I CAME TO A STOP, IT WOULD LOSE THROTTLE. I WAS ABLE TO TURN IT OFF AND BACK ON TO GET GOING. THEN AT A MAJOR INTERSECTION OF HWY 41 AND 145, IT WOULDN'T TURN BACK ON AND I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HWY. I HAD TO PUSH IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND IT WOULD TURN BUT NOT START. I HAD IT TOWED TO MY MECHANIC ON SATURDAY AND MONDAY WHEN THEY GOT TO IT, AFTER CHARGING THE BATTERIES, IT STARTED RIGHT UP AND THEY HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO GET IT TO FAIL...WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THERE IS NO OIL PRESSURE ON THE GAUGE. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS OR DEADLY. I COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN INJURED OR KILLED IF I HAD BEEN HIT.

BF GOODRICH TA KM2 TIRES I HAVE THREE SEPARATE ON A TRIP THAT STARTED AUGUST 14,2015 THE TIRES HAVE 19000 MILES ON THEM. THE FIRST TIRE SEPARATED ON THE 14TH AND I PUT A SPARE ON IT. THE OTHER TWO TIRES SEPARATED ON THE 16TH AND NOW THE 4TH TIRE IS SHOWING SIGNS OF SEPARATION. THE TIRES WERE PURCHASED FROM COSTCO ON 6/6/2012 MILEAGE ON THE PICHUP WAS 151101 AND IS NOW170852.2

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 05V270000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.

WE HAVE BEEN HAVING ON AND OFF PROBLEMS FOR ABOUT A YEAR WITH OUR VEHICLE STALLING WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WOULD START UP BUT ONLY GO ABOUT 3 BLOCKS AND THEN STALL AGAIN. WE HAVE REPLACED THE FICM. VEHICLE SEEMED OF FOR A FEW MONTHS AND NOW WE ARE HAVING A PROBLEM WITH IT RUNNING ROUGH AT LOW IDLE SPEEDS AND MISSING WHILE DRIVING AND RUNNING ROUGH. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-250 SD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATED THEN THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS MOVED TO THE SHOULDER WHERE THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RESTART IT BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED 30 MINUTES LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS PERSONALLY DIAGNOSED BY THE CONTACT WHO FOUND THAT THE FUEL INJECTION CONTROL MODULE HAD FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED ABOUT THE ISSUE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 05V270000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 142,200.

A MONTH AGO I HAD A BRIDGESTONE A/T REVO SEPARATE AND MANAGED TO GET IT REPLACED BEFORE IT BLEW. THIS PAST FRIDAY I WAS TOWING A TRAILER AND HAD ANOTHER SEPARATE AND BEFORE I COULD GET STOPPED IT BLEW OUT ALSO. FORTUNATELY IT WAS ON THE BACK AND I MANAGED TO GET THE TRUCK AND TRAILER STOPPED SAFELY. NOT SURE I COULD HAVE DONE THIS HAD IT BEEN ON THE FRONT. TIRES WERE AIRED PROPERLY THAT MORNING ALSO. WHILE ON A RECENT TRIP PULLING OUR 5TH WHEEL TRAVEL TRAILER WE NOTICED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE SMELL OF ANTI-FREEZE WHILE UNDER ACCELERATION(UP HILLS, HIGHWAY MERGING). ONCE AT THE CAMPGROUND WE MADE A VISUAL CHECK FOR ANY LEAKS AND NONE WERE FOUND, BUT THE COOLANT RESERVOIR WAS AT THE MIN MARK. I FILLED TO MAX. ON THE RETURN TRIP SAME THING HAPPENED. ONCE HOME I CHECKED FOR LEAKS AND NONE WERE FOUND BUT COOLANT WAS BACK TO MIN MARK. AT NO TIME DURING THE TRIP DID THE TRUCK OVERHEAT OR RUN ANY DIFFERENTLY THAN NORMAL. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT AT OUR LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND AFTER THEY INSPECTED I WAS TOLD THAT THE TURBO HAD GONE SOUTH CAUSING AN OVER BOOST CONDITION THAT THEN ENTERED INTO THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER AND CAUSED THE HEAD GASKETS TO FAIL. THEN I WAS TOLD THAT AS THE HEAD GASKETS HAD FAILED PRESSURE FROM THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER HAD ENTERED INTO THE COOLANT SYSTEM BOOSTING PRESSURE BEYOND WHAT THE PRESSURE RELIEF CAP WAS RATED FOR ON THE DEGAS(OVER FLOW) BOTTLE AND SPEWED ANTI FREEZE OUT OF THE BOTTLE, WHICH IS WHAT WE WERE SMELLING. THE COST FOR REPAIRS AND PARTS ARE ESTIMATED AT 7,000.00 DOLLARS FOR A TRUCK THAT HAS LITTLE OVER 58,000 MILES ON IT. A CALL TO FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE(CHRIS) AND A FOLLOW UP CALL FROM HIS SUPERVISOR AT MY REQUEST, HAS NETTED US NOTHING AS FORDS STANCE ON THIS IS "THERE IS NOTHING THAT FORD WILL OR CAN DO". AFTER SOME RESEARCH I SEE THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY CONSUMER BEING ASKED TO BEAR THE BRUNT OF FORDS MISTAKES. APPARENTLY EVERY ITEM THAT I WAS TOLD THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IS A PART THAT A MULTITUDE OF CONSUMERS ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THEY KNOW THEY HAVE AN ISSUE YET THEY DO NOTHING, AND NO ONE IS HOLDING THEM ACCOUNTABLE. IF I WANTED TO SELL MY TRUCK AFTER IT IS REPAIRED I'D BE LUCKY TO RECOUP ANYTHING AS THIS ISSUE HAS GROWN SO LARGE THAT EVERYONE IS SELLING AND THE VALUE HAS DROPPED.
