Ford does not have a solution to my vehicle being fixed for a safety recall.
In January I brought my truck into ford to get service on the recall 23S65. Since then the recall has broke and I cannot and haven’t been able to drive my truck since then. It has been at Statesboro ford since then sitting waiting on parts. I am under the understanding that the parts have been on back order since 2024 and it could be a year before I even get my truck back and fixed. Since it’s a safety recall I cannot drive the truck especially that it is broken. I would like some sort of repair or fix to this situation, unfortunately I haven’t gotten anything since January. If the issue is not resolved I will be involving a lawyer.
Vehicle repeatedly loses power steering and adaptive steering while driving. It happens randomly and can be at high speeds and low speeds.

The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact discovered a nail in the rear passenger side tire and the vehicle was driven to the local mechanic. While inspecting the tire, the mechanic also discovered that the wheel end hub bolt in the rear axle had fractured. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer was notified of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V896000 (POWER TRAIN); but the part for the recall repair was unavailable. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.
Rear axle bolt fell off and then car stopped being able to move. Axle spins no movement. I was driving while this was happening on a very busy road.. Thankfully I was able to stop in the middle of the road but not able to pull over. Had to push the car out of a busy road. Took truck to dealership and they stated there was no fix and that they shouldn’t give the car back but they did. Then the truck broke down 6 months later. No one has checked on it and there were no lights on dash telling me there was an active issue other than me knowing there was an active recall.

I am writing to formally document a recurring and dangerous safety defect involving the B&O audio system. On multiple occasions, the vehicle has emitted an ear-shattering popping noise followed by high-decibel electrical static. This issue is not merely a "speaker glitch"; it is a violent acoustic event that persists even after the ignition is turned off. Critical Safety Concerns: Driver Incapacitation: The volume is loud enough to cause immediate disorientation and potential hearing damage. If this occurs at highway speeds, the risk of a collision is extreme due to the "startle response" and inability to hear sirens or road cues. Electrical Instability: The static is accompanied by a sensation of electrical discharge throughout the cabin. To stop the noise, I am forced to manually disconnect the battery—which itself emits static popping during the process. Repeated Component Failure: The vehicle has already exhausted two batteries and requires a third. I suspect a faulty amplifier is creating a parasitic draw and low-voltage condition, triggering this catastrophic system failure. Lack of Professional Response: Despite SSM 51663 addressing this exact issue, dealerships have refused to perform the software/hardware fix due to the "sporadic" nature of the problem. Furthermore, when I contacted Ford Customer Service, my concerns regarding a potential crash were met with derision. I am requesting an immediate escalation, a formal inspection of the B&O amplifier, and the application of the relevant TSB/SSM software updates. I no longer feel safe operating this vehicle, and I am documenting this for the purpose of a Lemon Law evaluation and an NHTSA safety report.

On three occasions when I have started the truck, there is a deafening sound from the speaker system that sounds like a pop with glass shattering. Then it had a loud static sound that can't be silenced and the volume button does nothing. After turning the truck off for 5-10 minutes the problem resolves, though it does continue for several minutes after turning the truck off.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned? The LED Driver Module and Headlamp Control Module (HCM) software. Specifically, the C-Clamp Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) / Parking Lamps have failed to illuminate or are flickering. The vehicle is available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The failure of the parking lamps reduces the vehicle’s visibility to other drivers, especially during dusk, dawn, or inclement weather. This creates a "dark car" profile that increases the risk of a crash, as other motorists may not be able to discern the width or position of my truck on the road. This is a direct violation of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed? Yes, the malfunction is consistent and has been observed during normal operation. A Ford dealership has been contacted; however, they refused to perform a no-cost repair or diagnostic because my specific VIN has not yet been added to Recall 23C36, despite the vehicle exhibiting the exact symptoms described in that safety recall. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by others? No, it has only been inspected by myself and described to a Ford service advisor. (If you took it in and they saw it, change this to: "The dealer service advisor visually confirmed the failure but declined a warranty repair.") Were there any warning lamps or symptoms prior to failure? No warning lamps or messages appeared on the instrument cluster or FordPass app. The failure of the LED C-clamp was the first and only symptom. This occurred on 03/06/2026 when I bought the truck and did not know the C-clamp DRL was not working.
The 10R80 transmission is known to have issues with the CDF drum resulting in extremely hard downshift while driving and ultimately leads to transmission damage
See attached document for complaint. I write this letter to you requesting your assistance regarding Ford Motor Co. recall 23S65 / NHTSA Recall 23V896. I received an initial recall notice in May, 2025. For your convenience, I am including a copy for your quick reference. In addition, I have received a subsequent recall reminder from Ford Motor Co. in November, 2025 noting that I have not addressed the safety recall repairs as of yet. I was urged to seek necessary repairs from my local Ford Dealer as soon as possible. A copy of this letter is also included for your reference and records. Please be advised that I have been in contact with my local Ford Dealer located in Montrose, CO on numerous occasions in an attempt to have there service department make the necessary repairs to my 2022 Ford F-150, most recently on January 2, 2026. I have been instructed that parts are still not available for them to fix the recall on my truck. It has been (8) months ago that I received an initial recall notice from Ford Motor Co. A few weeks ago I called the Ford Recall Assistance Center at 1-866-436-7332 in hopes of getting a resolution and timeline for a repair work to be completed on my Ford F-150. Unfortunately, this too was simply a waste of my time and energy as nothing was done to complete the necessary recall work to my vehicle. This has been extremely frustrating. I recognize there are safety issues that make it dangerous to drive my Ford-150 without the necessary recall repair work being completed. My wife and I rely solely on our F-150 for transportation as we are a single vehicle family and we are concerned about a potential future accident or vehicle breakdown. It is difficult for me to comprehend how Ford Motor Company can be so negligent and incompetent in getting this recall notice addressed in a timely fashion. In my opinion, Ford Motor Co.’s inaction in dealing with my F-150 recall is nothing short of being totally unacceptable. Thank you in advance for your consideration and assistance in this matter. I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding the unresolved rear axle recall on my Ford F150. Although a temporary repair was performed last year, I remain deeply worried about the safety of my vehicle and, more importantly, the safety of my family. I have contacted my local Ford dealership multiple times to address this recall, but each time I am informed that there are no parts available for the necessary repairs. Given that this recall has been outstanding for some time, I am troubled by the apparent lack of urgency from Ford to resolve this critical safety issue. To add to my concern, the axle bolt has already broken once, which poses a significant risk while driving. I urge the NHTSA to intervene and provide assistance in expediting the resolution of this recall. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I appreciate any help you can provide. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Excessively hard transmission gear changes int eh 2, 3, 4 gear range. Happens in cold weather. Happens when accelerating and when down shifting. Gear shift is so violent it rattles the vehicle. Vehicle still operational, but long lime viability is not good. Feels like changing gears in a standard transmission but without using the clutch.
Driving home last night looking in my rear view mirrors I noticed it looked dark at the back of my F150. Once home I noticed I had no rear running lights, no brake lights, no rear turn signals. Not sure related but 2 days earlier I noticed that about 5 indicator lights on my dashboard were activated all relating to driver assist lane changing, backing up assist, hill parking assist, traction control and so on.
as of [1/26/26], Recall 23S65 Is not complete Ford’s repair order states the vehicle is NOT SAFE TO DRIVE and cannot be repaired due to parts unavailability. The dealer generated a Repair Order stating: “RECALL 23S65 NOT COMPLETE. PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. UNSAFE TO DRIVE.” The same document notes “8–12 months before parts are available.” Because of this, my vehicle has an open safety defect that Ford acknowledges but cannot repair for an extended period, and the dealer explicitly documented the vehicle as unsafe to drive. I am unable to safely use the vehicle and have been advised to wait months for parts with no firm ETA. I’m filing this complaint so NHTSA is aware of Ford’s recall remedy parts shortage and the associated prolonged safety risk to owners who cannot obtain a timely repair. I HAVE ONLY HAD MY 2022 FORD F150 XLT FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS AND THE AC IS NOT WORKING. IT IS BLOWING HOT. I TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP AND PAID $220 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC AND THEY SAID IT IS THE EVAPORATOR CORE. DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT FROM SAYS IT PASSED INSPECTION TEST BUT I'M NOT SURE HOW AND 1 MONTH AFTER I BOUGHT IT IT'S NOT WORKING. VERY DISAPPOINTING BEING I'VE ONLY HAD THE TRUCK A LITTLE OVER A MONTH. AND EVEN MORE DISAPPOINTING EVERYWHERE I LOOK ONLINE EVERYONE IS HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE AND FORD HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL.
There are times that my 2022 Ford F150 Powerboost will not accelerate. Mostly if I roll in a turn and press on the gas pedal. I don't hear anything, like it's a auto/stop issue. I'll have to come to a complete stop, or I'll have to leave my foot on the pedal, then it's like it kicks on with high RPM. There's no warning lights or messages. This time while I was on the highway during stop and go traffic.

10 speed [T]ransmission issue first noticed w/ milage under 10k. [T] would “slam” while downshifting from 5/4/3/2 when coming to stop. Gradually progressing in severity w/ increase of milage. [T] has now started to miss gears when upshifting from 3/4/5/6, causing a brief lag in vehicle movement upon acceleration as the transmission attempts to keep up with applied engine power. Dealer has always stated this as “normal.” Dealer also states they “can’t replicate” the issue, even though it has now become a near-daily occurrence. The vehicle also continues to perform a hard downshift from gears already stated. Vehicle is very well maintained and driven appropriately. The original purchasing dealer did perform a PCM update as well as replace the original PCM module around 40k/mi, but issue still is not resolved and progressively worsening. [T] flush & filter replacement was performed recently with scheduled maintenance and nothing was noted regarding abnormalities. Extended bumper-to-bumper warranty is nearing expiration at 100k/mi. Safety-wise, while entering upon a highway, loss of speed while attempting to enter has caused near misses in the past, even with enough space given to enter with moving traffic behind. Vehicle slamming down while coming to a stop causes faster than anticipated stopping or speed reduction. MFTR Recall 28S75 NHTSA Recall 25V 455 This is a safety risk recall issued over 7 months ago and Ford still does not have a remedy to fix the problem. So far my F150 has not experienced the problem, but do I just keep driving and one day the vehicle stops running, maybe while I'm traveling on an interstate at 70 mph. I think it's time to pressure Ford for a fix before someone has a tragic accident. Thanks

The vehicle produces an extremely loud static or popping blast from the speakers at startup or during operation. The volume controls do not respond and the noise can only be stopped by shutting the vehicle off. The sound is ear-piercing, leaves ringing in the ears, and startles the driver. This has occurred more than once. One incident happened while driving on the freeway and nearly caused a loss of control due to the sudden and extremely loud noise. Another occurrence was captured on video while the vehicle was being operated at low speed. The condition occurs without warning and cannot be reproduced on demand. The vehicle is equipped with the B&O Unleashed audio system. No warning lights or messages appear prior to the event. A dealer acknowledged the condition and indicated that a module reprogramming is required to correct it. Ford has issued Special Service Message (SSM) 51663 addressing loud static from the audio system in affected vehicles. Despite the vehicle being under an extended warranty, the corrective repair is being classified as a software update and quoted as a customer-paid repair. This unexpected loud audio blast presents a safety concern due to driver distraction and potential hearing harm.

Driving approx 40mph on the road and a loud thump sound followed by grinding from rear end started. Came to stop in the road and when the gas pedal was pushed the grinding sound continued. The truck was pushed off the side of the road and had to be towed to the dealership since January 4th. It has been at the dealership with no estimate of time for repair from the dealership so far and we just keep being told there is nothing they can do. The dealership states that the parts are on back order and we are in a line of several other trucks with the same problem.

My 2022 Ford F150 wouldn’t start one morning. There was power and a lot of codes came up on the dash pod. I had it towed to the Ford dealer and they confirmed a no start situation. They replaced the under hood fuse box (warped from heat) and ultimately found a chaffed wiring harness with corroded and broken wires. It’s my opinion that a wiring harness is not a wearable item and this was caused by a friction situation. It’s my opinion that this could potentially be a safety issue if I was driving the vehicle and this happened it would be a total loss of power. The Ford dealer repaired the 2 wires and re-taped the harness.

It should be noted, recall 23S65 has already been done prior to this incident. On 12/27/2025, while driving northbound on I65, south of Louisville KY, I lost the rear differential. I was in the middle lane and had to get over to the emergency lane while towing an unloaded flatbed trailer weighing about 4000 lbs. I was almost struck by a couple trucks but was able to get over into the emergency lane. I had my passenger check the differential and saw that while in “drive” the driveshaft was turning freely while I was still stopped. I was able to get the truck off the highway by putting it in 4wd and use the front wheels to drive. I do not remember any warning lamps during this incident. I found a dealer that was close by (Town and Country Ford Louisville) and parked the truck. A week later the dealer confirmed the axles shafts had broken and would need replaced. These are the same axles that were replaced in accordance with the recall. As of 2/16/2026 Ford still does not have any axles for replacement and they are on a national back order totaling over 63,000 units.
10r80 transmission slipped between 3rd and 4th gear shift. Truck is available for inspection. The few seconds loss of power is definitely a safety risk. It happened while pulling out onto a highway from a full stop. There are numerous reports of this issue with this transmission. Plan to have transmission inspected by a mechanic ASAP. No warnings of the issue prior to this happening.
