Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2014 Ford F-150 and Flex vehicles manufactured March 1, 2014, to May 31, 2014. The affected vehicles were manufactured with a reduced clearance between the seat frame and the seat track assembly. This can cause the Occupant Classification System (OCS) to inaccurately register passenger weight and improperly suppress the passenger front airbag when the passenger seat is occupied by an adult passenger. Thus, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will widen the gap between the seat frame and seat track assembly and recalibrate the seat OCS, free of charge. The recall began November 25, 2014. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 14C10.

An intermittent failure of the output shaft speed (OSS) sensor in the transmission. It downshifted while traveling over 45 MPH> The dashboard lights went away, and the transmission will only stay in first gear. Restarting the vehicle (sometimes multiple times), addresses the issue temporarily. safety recall 24S37 addresses the issue but my vehicle is not part of this recall.
Consistent with NHTSA Recall bulletin 24V444000, my truck suddenly downshifts on its own from 5th or 6th gear to 1st or 2nd gear, even at highway speeds. When that happens, the RPMs increase dramatically and the truck slows down. I have almost wrecked while driving in snow when this happens, because the rear wheels slide out of control when the transmission drops to 1st or 2nd gear. So, why isn't my truck covered by this recall bulletin? This has been occurring with increasing frequency for over three months. Today (3-18-26) it occurred at least eight (8) times - and it's snowing.
I am aware this year f150 had issues with steering recall. My model did not come up as recall. However, I twice have had steering issues. On 04/26/24 I had the steering assembly repaired, car went into limp mode while driving. It cost $1,505.45 for the parts and it had to be reprogrammed at dealership $225.00. Total was $2,359.14. Now this week 03/10/2026 the steering is hanging up again and it is in shop. It seems odd my truck was not part of the recall. As longtime Ford buyer and relative of many Ford employees around Detroit, this is disturbing. Especially with STEERING !!!!! I will try to attach prior receipt.

The contact stated that the vehicle needed to be refueled frequently because the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the contact was informed that fuel was leaking from the vehicle. The vehicle was diagnosed with fuel tank failure. The contact was informed that the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. While the vehicle was parked and turned off, fuel was leaking from the vehicle. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
This car is loosing control due to the sudden shifting of the gears. The car suddenly goes into first gear, causing the car to go into a safety mode
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle unexpectedly downshifted while the accelerator pedal was depressed. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where a computer update was performed. The vehicle was repaired; however, the contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled, and the speedometer failed to display the speed that the vehicle was driving. The vehicle was taken back to the same local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the lead frame needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the costs. The contact stated that after the vehicle was started, the vehicle jerked abnormally. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
There have been sudden downshifts occurring at any speed while driving. For example, downshifting from 6th gear to 1st gear while on the interstate driving around 70 mph. Or driving 40 mph on a public, decently popular road and having the downshift occur suddenly. Occurred 4 times in one day and almost was in a crash each time it happened. Upon researching this issue, there is a Ford recall “24S37” for this exact issue and it covers 2014 F-150’s from the Kansas City Plant during the dates of July 26, 2013 through December 23, 2014. But yet my specific vehicle isn’t recalled even though it’s from the Kansas City Plant and departed from that plant on November 18, 2014. Ford was called and notified of this incident but it’s been a week now with no update or response from them about getting my vehicle the necessary repairs needed so I can safely drive again. There is no sense of urgency any time I have called their Customer Service department even though I remind them every time I am currently without a car since mine is dangerous and unsafe to drive. This vehicle has been inspected by a Ford dealership many times for other repairs and this issue was never addressed or notated. There were no warning lamps or messages displayed prior to these incidents, the downshifts just occurred randomly with no prompting.
When driving the transmission acts like it goes into neutral the it down shifts into 4th gear from 6th gear at highway speeds. They did do a reprogramming recall but the problem is still there after replacing the parts they said were bad
Two separate times, driving at highway speed, the truck shifted into first gear and I had to pull over. A wrench symbol also popped up where the speed is usually displayed.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 MPH, the vehicle lost power, and the power train warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the odometer was inoperable, and the gear shift indicator indicated that the transmission was in 3rd gear. The air bags and other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and inspected, but no failures were found. The vehicle was turned off for 20 minutes and restarted, and there were no issues found with the vehicle. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 MPH, the transmission downshifted and became stuck in 3rd gear. The powertrain, air bags, and other unknown warning lights became illuminated again, and the odometer failed to operate as intended. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed, and DTC: P0722 was retrieved. There are metal shavings in the transmission drain filler plug, and the contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train) and Manufacturer Recall: 24S37. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 142,300.
My truck’s brakes failed unexpectedly. I know there’s been a recall on similar year and engine models for brake issues. Even though my VIN isn’t showing an open recall, I’d like this inspected because the failure feels identical to the recall problem.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while using a scanner to check for diagnostic codes, the contact discovered a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was an independent dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the mileage was 139,000. The contact indicated that the scanner indicated that the mileage was 239,000. A VIN Clarity Report was purchased, which also indicated that the mileage was 239,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving 75 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted, and the vehicle failed to accelerate as needed. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (POWER TRAIN) as possibly related to the failure. The vehicle was driven to a local dealer for a recall repair. The vehicle was repaired by the dealer. The contact stated that the vehicle was driven back to the residence, but the failure worsened. The vehicle was driven back to the dealer. The dealer denied the repair and stated that there were no issues with the vehicle. The contact stated that the additional issues were associated with the recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 264,711.
My 2014 F-150 with the 5.0 is currently at the ford dealership getting the output speed sensor replaced in the transmission. This is already a recall item on the vehicle, however it is not showing up as a recall fix. This will send your truck into “limp mode” causing you to have to pull over in unsafe spots on the road in order to shut the vehicle off. And back on to get the truck to drive correctly. I am now responsible for paying for this replacement, when it’s clearly a manufactured error
I had the factory recall done at a local dealership. The ensured me the programming was completed to solve the down shifting of gears while driving. It’s been a couple years since the reprogramming and I still have problems with the truck downshifting at different speeds. It also indicates the wrench on the screen and makes all the gauges including the screen, stop working. During acceleration, if you are merging and need extra speed, the truck stops accelerating and slows down. The only way to reset the wrench on the screen is to stop the vehicle immediately and shut it off until the mileage indicator shows the mileage the vehicle has. Several posts online indicate the same issues for those who own the F150. Driving on the freeway at freeway speeds the truck shifted into first gear while traveling at 75 mph. The tires skidded and the truck jerked hard when it happened. It startled myself and my kids who were in the truck.
When driving, the truck will down shift or won’t to shift up at all. After turning the vehicle off, it seems to resolve itself after you turn it back on. Unless the orange light to indicate gear won’t appear. Then vehicle won’t start when the gear can’t be indicated, leaving myself or family members stranded. It refuses to start in neutral as well. I took the vehicle to Car x. I have no check engine nor do I have any transmission codes. I was told it may be a pcm to transmission problem and to check for recalls. My vehicle doesn’t show on the recall list but is showing symptoms of a recall listed.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact discovered a mileage discrepancy after the purchase. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the mileage was approximately 135,000. It was later discovered through a Carfax Report that the mileage on the Title was 242,000. The contact was the third owner and believed that the second vehicle owner had tampered with the odometer.

While driving, the truck suddenly shifted into 3rd gear. I stopped the vehicle, put it into park, shut the engine off, restarted the truck, put it back into drive and it immediately went into 3rd gear. I was unable to get the transmission to work properly so I had it towed to the dealership where I bought it.
My 2014 f150 xlt Ecoboost 4x,4 was experiencing symptoms directly related to Recall 24S37 / 24V444 (erratic/harsh shifting while on the highway). P0606, P0607 (PCM Processor Faults) P0706, P0707 (Transmission Range Sensor issues) P1702-00 (TRS Circuit Intermittent) P1921-00 (Transmission Range Signal issues) This was following the software update in the last recall. Plus the truck would not start despite a brand new battery. I purchased a new lead frame and was told by Ford to take it to Conklin Automotive in Newton Ks so I had it towed Jan 7th. My truck is still there. They replaced the lead frame but released it to me without a diagnosis, without replacing transmission fluid due to a stripped dipstick they were unable to remove, without trying the many options for removal or refilling it and without checking to see if the lead frame fixed the main issue. I had said from the beginning they needed to check the neutral safety switch and fuses. Finally by end of Jan he checked and found a corroded fuse and the truck started but because of refusal to refill the fluid they didn't check the lead frame. So I have had to rent cars for a month resulting in financial distress and return the truck to a different shop to be fixed. Ford refuses to honor the recall even tho it was extended to my year and model of truck, and refuses to help because Conklin, where they told me to go, is not an authorized dealership. I've attached all the correspondence with them and Ford.
When driving 2014 Ford F-150 STX crew cab 4 door 4wd in either 2WD or 4WD at cruising speed on highway 55 mph to 65 mph either in cruise control or not with gas pedal steady the vehicle randomly drops from 6th gear to 3rd gear. I had the local Ford Dealer already perform the software update from the recall but it did not resolve the issue. After a few months of driving with this problem continuing I left the vehicle with the Ford Dealer to see if they could reproduce the problem. They claimed they never could reproduce the problem and that the vehicle never generated any fault codes.
My 2014 Ford F150 has a safety recall 24s37 due to the transmission violently down shifting the truck had the reprogram done in 24 that supposively would fix the issue now the truck has code p0720 and is violently downshifting on interstate almost causing accidents and need the ledframe replaced attached to this safety recall and known issue. F0rd told me since it had reprogram done even though part is failing they can't fix the issue. That is insane since it's a huge safety issue and the reprogram was definitely not a long term fix it needs to be fixed before this causes me to have a accident. This is my only means of vehicle and needs to be fixed right .

I need to open a safety case. My 2014 Ford F-150 had recall 24S37 performed. Immediately after the recall, the steering locked, the truck stopped itself while still in Drive, and a blue oil pressure warning light appeared. The vehicle is unsafe and cannot be driven out of my driveway. The dealership is refusing responsibility and wants to charge diagnostics. I need this inspected and towed under recall responsibility.”

Crank but no start. Found fuse 27 melted. This fuse supplies power to the fuel pump relay which gives the fuel pump power to run. The melted fuse had lost its connectivity. The fuse is a 20 amp. The fuse was not blown. Unable to determine the cause of the heat to melt the fuse. I searched YouTube and found that this is a common problem with the f150 with the range of 2010 to 2014. Also found that several parts dealers offer a F27 fuse relocation kit as a work around for the problem. The incident happened at home where I was able to research the problem. What if I got stranded in the middle of nowhere, no cell service, and 25 below zero? Worse yet, could this hot spot start a fire under the hood? Why there has not been a recall on this fuse is beyond reasoning tthat the repair is more costly than a life!
Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while attempting to register the vehicle, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 109,000 and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 276,000. The contact later confirmed the discrepancy with a Carfax report that listed the mileage at 276,000.
Coil packs need constant changing in this vehicle. I’ve owned it almost 8 years and sometimes I would have to change the coil packs more than 1 time a year. Obviously I would change the spark plugs also. But there is always a misfire. A lot with 3 and 5.
Transmission would downshift unexpectedly causing me to brake and panic, the tool icon will come on dash, speedometer stops working and backup camaras failed, transmission locked up on highway and caused driveshaft to lock back tires. All around dangerous situation

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light, the wrench warning light, and the air bag warning light illuminated. In addition, the speedometer failed to function as intended. The speedometer indicated 0 MPH while driving. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle. After the vehicle was restarted, the wrench warning light was no longer illuminated. The contact continued to drive, and while driving at 45 MPH, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. The wrench warning light intermittently illuminated, and the air bag warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to respond as needed while driving. The vehicle was taken to a collision center. The contact was provided the following codes: P1500-00, P0722-00, P0721-00, P0304-00, and P0151-00. The contact stated that the codes were cleared while at the collision center. The vehicle failed the emission test. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the steering wheel sensor had failed, and the sensor was replaced. The contact stated that on the drive back to the residence after leaving the independent mechanic, the check engine warning light, the wrench warning light, and the air bag warning light were illuminated. In addition, the speedometer failed to function as intended. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the transmission output shaft speed sensor and the powertrain control module had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Most recently, the contact stated that while the vehicle was stopped at a traffic light, once the contact removed the foot from the brake pedal, the vehicle failed to move. The accelerator pedal was depressed, and the vehicle drove sluggishly; and the contact had to use additional force to depress the accelerator pedal. The check engine and air bag warning lights illuminate
I had the OSS software recall completed a few months ago. Software fix is suppose to prevent automatic downshifting to 1st gear when traveling in higher gears. I am now having slipping/engine shudder when accelerating in higher gears. More than likely the lead frame will need to be replaced and my independent mechanic has said this should have been the fix initially, not just a software update. (Same models from 2011-2013 have had this recall implemented, but the 2014 has not been included for some reason.)
Per the attached letter to 1 A Auto I installed the subject steering shaft and torqued it per their video instructions. It slipped off causing a complete loss of steering because it wasn't properly fabricated. . Thankfully, I was travelling at low speed and was able to safeky stop, make an emergency repair and got the truck home. It caused a break in the airabag clock spring cable and also broke a cable on the steering wheel that connects the guage control on the steering wheel. I bought another shaft from 1 A Auto but it had the same defect described in the attached letter. I did not intsall the second part from from 1A Auto. I bought another shaft from O'Reilly Auto parts which was properly fabricated by Dorman. These parts from 1 A Auto should be recalled before some is injured. Indeed someone may have already been injured but this issue may not be detected as the cause
I was driving the vehicle this morning; the temperature was about 16 degrees Freiheit outside and the truck had been sitting out all night. I had the heater on and the rear defroster on. I drove the truck for about 2 minutes on a 25 mph residential street and heard a loud bang. I continued to drive the truck and noticed the driver side pane of the rear sliding glass window had shattered. I did some research online and found several reports from individuals with F-Series trucks that have reported similar incidents.
I am reporting an odometer rollback that occurred before I purchased my vehicle. CARFAX shows the vehicle had 206,627 miles when it was sold at an auto auction on February 27, 2023. Four months later, in June 2023, the vehicle was retitled in Illinois at 69,000 miles. The odometer reading at my first service visit on June 26, 2023 also showed 68,380 miles. This is a discrepancy of approximately 138,000 miles, which indicates the odometer was rolled back sometime between the auction sale and the Illinois title issuance. I purchased the vehicle in June 2023 without knowing the mileage had been altered. The issue affects the accuracy of the vehicle’s history and could impact safety and maintenance expectations. I am reporting this so the rollback can be documented and investigated by the appropriate authorities.
