While driving on the highway on 02/20/2026 at approximately 152,000 miles, my 2019 Ford F-150 3.0L Power Stroke diesel caught fire and was completely destroyed. The day before the fire (02/19/2026), the FordPass app logged an electrical system error that self-cleared the same day. Believing the issue resolved itself, I continued normal operation. The following day the vehicle caught fire on the highway and was a total loss. Ford's own telematics system captured the fault code prior to the fire. I am filing this complaint to formally document this incident and believe this represents a product defect.

ENGINE Mar 30, 2026
I own a 2019 Ford F-150 equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine. The vehicle has developed a loud rattling noise during startup along with an illuminated check engine light. The vehicle was diagnosed by Family Ford of Enfield as having a failure in the timing system, including cam phasers, timing chain, tensioners, and guides. The estimated repair cost is approximately $5,000. This issue appears to be a widespread and well-documented problem affecting 2017–2020 Ford F-150 vehicles with the 3.5L EcoBoost engine. The failure of cam phasers and timing components can lead to improper engine timing, rough operation, and potential engine damage. I am concerned that this condition could worsen over time and potentially lead to engine failure while driving, creating a safety risk. Despite this being a known issue, no recall or adequate assistance has been provided. I am submitting this complaint so that this recurring problem can be investigated further for potential safety implications and manufacturer responsibility.

Transmission shudder, feels like driving over rumble strips, reducing power and causing vehicle to slow, sometimes causing engine to stall. When it occurs in traffic and/or at highway speeds can cause dangerous rear-end collision. The vehicle is at the dealership/service department now. No warning light, symptoms began suddenly and have increased in frequency and severity since first occurring less than 100 miles ago.

The 10R80 transmission on the F150 has extremely erratic shifting, which occasionally results in delayed shifts or what feels like no acceleration when gas pedal is pressed. Turning left through oncoming traffic, I've had the transmission hesitate for moments before engaging, resulting in almost being hit by oncoming traffic. I've also had the delayed shifting AT SPEED cause the vehicle to temporarily slow down which almost resulted in being rear ended.
POWER TRAIN Mar 25, 2026
Harsh shifting especially from 7th to 8th gear. Delayed shifting which causes a problem cause of the truck slowing down while in motion. It puts me at risk of getting hit from behind when it does this. There's also a vibration that happens randomly while driving. It has started jerking forward upon start up

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of engine oil. The engine warning light was illuminated when the oil level was extremely low. Upon research, the contact associated the failure with TSB: 19-2365 (Excessive Oil Consumption). The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The local dealer was contacted and suggested a diagnostic test to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 114,000. The VIN was not available.

At 68000 miles I noticed the engine is burning through oil at a rapid pace. A quart of oil a week is bad. If this happens to someone who doesn't keep up with their vehicle, and check it regularly it could be a devastating outcome. It's time Ford fixes this issue.

ENGINE Mar 19, 2026
My transmission jumps or skips or sometimes simply doesn't engage between gears, resulting in upshifting for a slow performance when I need to cross a busy intersection, or staying in low gear and revving up when trying to get on the highway. Some days it works okay, some days it doesn't; but rarely does it work right.
POWER TRAIN Mar 17, 2026
At about 80K on my truck I noticed severe slipping of the transmission while accelerating. Most noticeable when getting on the freeway, or accelerating to pass someone. I called our local dealership and the service person said there was no recall, but they could take a look at it. I saw online many reports of the same issue. They give possible fixes, fluid levels, reset adaptive tables, software updates, but it seems none of that works. I am a senior on a fixed income and a new transmission cost would be terrible. I have been very careful while accelerating and back off every time it slips. Just would like to get on a list.
POWER TRAIN Mar 12, 2026
While driving my truck hard shifts from 3-4-5 and also at 8-9. It seems it misses shifting from 1-2-3 missing 2nd gear all together. At high speeds the transmission has slipped out of gear. I have called Ford and reported the issue as I was looking to see if this issue was recalled. Ford stated they were aware of the issue but no recalls were issued. I was forced to seek help from a transmission shop and incurred a huge bill replacing the CDF drum and rings.
ENGINE Mar 12, 2026
At 70k miles cam phaser is starting to go bad and ford will not honor prior recall or TSB tn2103 and recall 21B10. Ford has issues a 40% repair coverage and does acknowledge the issue but does not think it's their fault now. Would like ford to issue a full recall on this issue.
UNKNOWN OR OTHER Mar 11, 2026
Transmission and Timing Chain Failure. John Vance Ford inspected F150 Jan 26, 2026 and Mar 2, 2026. On Mar 2, 2026 it was determined transmission ($8,740.85) and timing chain ($4,948.86) needed to be replaced. I experienced the vehicle slipping into neutral and lunging forward to find a gear while driving. The delay in gears could have easily caused a rearend collision...but did not...as vehicles behind me had to slow down without notice. John Vance confirmed faulty transmission. No warning lights or messages were displayed associated with the failure.

You can smell something getting hot the gauges jump everywhere and the 12 volt outlet constantly flashes red or orange. The screen goes out for long periods of time and the transmission shifts down so hard and then misses gears shifting up causing the person driving to lose momentum. I can not believe this truck has not been recalled yet. It’s been at the dealers shop 20 times for electrical issues. They knew it was a lemon and still sold it to us. I hope y’all do the right thing before someone gets killed.

The contact stated that the transmission unexpectedly slipped out of gear and the vehicle unexpectedly jerked, and the vehicle drove roughly. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25E070000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer was contacted on several occasions and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Since before my 60K warranty expired, I have experienced clunking when automatic transmission is espeically shifting down from about 4 to 3 of the 10 speeds. It has gotten worse, and it actually has good and bad days just like you and me. The other day it felt so severe that it seemed the entire truck would implode and then I would be sitting duck, or worse, hit something out of control or from quickly losing power steering. I know this issue is known, and there are now lawsuits. Date below is first onset. Dealerships have told me all sorts of crazy options to solve it over the years, from changing transmission fluid, to replacing transmission.

I have a 2019 Ford F150 ecoBoost 3.5L engine. I'm a very low mileage driver and just turned over 55,000 miles when I began having cold startup knocking, which is well known issue for Ford (TSB 21-2119). This is a faulty part on this vehicle that if not repaired properly can cause catastrophic engine damage and dangerous on-road situations. The repair is upwards of 6,000 dollars and Ford customer service is refusing to take care of the issue. Additionally, Ford never provided me with notification of this ongoing issue and in their filing with the NHTSA (Customer Satisfaction Program 21N03), they stated they would notify customers by March 15, 2021.
POWER TRAIN Mar 5, 2026
Originally when I got my vehicle would sometimes have troubles shifting into 4th gear where it was real clunky. As I came up on 80,000 mi, it has now gotten much more clunky and noisy for a lot of shifting. It will skip second forth gear regularly and at times it will go into 7th gear at less than 25 mph. It has slipped out of that gear as well and then the RPMs will go up to 4-5,000. I've also have had, luckily at lower speeds in town, the gear shift from 8th all the way down to one and then jump around causing the vehicle to be jerking severely. I sometimes will have it go into limp mode and other times it just props up the service morning. Most recently it seems to just slip out of gear and the engine revs high with nothing that I can do even with my foot off the gas.

Rear backup camera intermittently fails or displays blank, dark and distorted image when vehicle is in reverse, creating a safety hazard and increasing risk of collision. Occurs when shifting into reverse and creates safety risk for pedestrians, children, cyclists and property. Similar F-150's are already under recall for this same issue, even 2019 F-150 models.

Check engine light came on with a message to the Ford App for "powertrain malfunction". Took vehicle to Paul Miller Ford Dealership for comprehensive diagnosis. Diagnostic report indicated Gear 4 incorrect ratio. Transmission failure of CDF Drum. Transmission needs to be replaced. Dealership quoted $10,140.54. This is a know issue by Ford, as the 2018 F-150 with 10 speed transmissions have a recall. The truck has 84,249 miles on it. The truck was purchased new in July 2019. The vehicle puts drivers and passengers at risk by stalling, fire, or hard shift in traffic putting safety of others in harms way. Potential injury from accident

Bought truck from Carvanna with a open recall. Backup camera listed on description as couldn't remedy and also pictures of it not working. Took to friendship Ford for major repairs and asked them to fix recall. Wouldn't fix back up camera cause couldn't get to duplicate. Contacted my case worker corrina at carvanna executive resolution team told her they wouldn't fix the recall also sent her a video of the back up camera not working she responded by she couldn't make Ford do anything and would look into it. Truck completely lost power in a snowstorm lost power steering got the truck in to wallace Ford Kingsport tn. They replaced wiring to the back of the truck along with the back up camera recall.

After stopping at a red light truck acted like it was in neutral. I got the orange wrench icon on the dash. I had to pull over and stop and restart. Seems to be a known problem

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. No warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, occasionally, while shifted into drive, the transmission failed to shift as intended. The dealer was made aware of the failure several times; however, the contact was informed that the repair was not covered under recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact stated that the failure was a known failure with similar vehicles. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

1) Vehicle transmission erratic shifting ,skips gear 2 and 4 a lot and sometimes from stop to 33 mph it seems to go into neutral then bang back into gear. Grand kids in back gets knocked around hard enough to lose food/drinks. It dose to back but now the truck is less than 10MPH. 2) On start up something in the engine jingle and gaggle sound for 1-3 seconds.. This happens when truck has been sitting for long period.

Dear NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation, I am submitting this complaint to formally report a transmission failure involving a vehicle equipped with the 10R80 automatic transmission, which I believe represents a serious safety concern and may be part of a larger pattern of premature failures. The transmission began showing signs of failure at approximately 52,000 miles. Early symptoms included hesitation, harsh or delayed shifting, inconsistent engagement, and warning signs related to drivetrain or transmission performance. I sought service and diagnosis, but despite many similar failures being reported by other owners, no corrective action or goodwill repair was offered by the manufacturer or dealership. I was quoted approximately $9,000 by the dealership for a full transmission replacement. Due to the high cost, I continued operating the vehicle while monitoring the issue. Over time, the condition worsened significantly. As the transmission continued to fail, the vehicle would sometimes move forward and then suddenly stall or lose drive power while in traffic. This occurred while my family was in the vehicle and created a major safety concern, as the truck could unexpectedly lose movement in active traffic lanes, putting us at risk of a collision and leaving us unable to safely accelerate or clear intersections. On January 30, 2026, the transmission failed completely. The vehicle no longer moved when placed in gear, leaving it inoperable and unsafe to drive. Because assistance was denied and no recall or corrective action was available, I was forced to repair the vehicle at an independent repair shop at my own expense. The repair cost is approximately $7,000 out of pocket. This failure occurred at relatively low mileage for a major drivetrain component and appears consistent with numerous reports from other owners experiencing similar transmission issues. It is concerning that consumers are being required to absorb expensive repairs despite what appears t

After a stop sign, I turned right onto a busy street. With foot on the accelerator, vehicle would not accelerate, and I had to quickly turn off into the right of way to avoid a collision. Fortunately there wasn’t a curb there. The vehicle was in “D”. I believe the transmission is faulty. It has happened multiple times. Also, the vehicle occasionally will not go into Park, more evidence of a faulty transmission. I believe Ford should recall and replace the transmission before it causes a serious accident.
