POWER TRAIN Mar 23, 2026
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the transmission failed to shift into gear and the vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road, turned off, and restarted after a while, and the transmission shifted properly. The contact used a scanner to reset the system, and the transmission shifted properly while driving approximately 50 - 60 MPH. The speedometer rose to 100 MPH, then 0 MPH unexpectedly, with the power train warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was diagnosed with transmission failure. The dealer completed a system update. The failure persisted and became progressively worse. The vehicle was returned to the dealer, who determined that the leadframe was defective, causing the transmission failure. The dealer informed the contact that the repair was not covered under warranty because the vehicle had exceeded 6,000 miles. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

My front windshield is leaking from the top of the window. I can see little trails of dried drips on the inside of my windshield. I feel it could possibly be a safety issue of being loose. It has not been confirmed by a dealer, service center, police, insurance company, or anyone yet. Just found it about a month ago. Trying to see if a recall before I contact a glass company to repair.
STEERING Mar 18, 2026
I was driving down the road when my power steering went out in the middle of a sharp turn. As the power steering was going out the screen on the dash showed “Service power steering now” and beeped three times, giving me only about a second to read the message and react to losing power steering. The steering wheel jerked right and I almost drove off the road. I have since taken it to a ford dealership where they informed me that the entire rack and pinion needs to be replaced.

Vehicle went from 70 mph to 1st gear without driver. Pulled over restarted vehicle ran fine. Did it again. I have been told it is the lead frame assem ly and transmission sensor. Ford did not recall my year but dud a customer satisfaction. My vehicle exceeds 10 years. If this had been a recall they would fix it. Very dangerous when this happens.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL Mar 13, 2026
I am an owner of a 2013 F150 with a 5.0 liter V8 engine my transmission speed sensor malfunction causing my truck to abruptly lose power as I was doing 85mph down the turnpike as to where I had to coast to the shoulder of the road and my dash cluster I had no readings of digital components and I had a wrench symbol on my dash board as I was confused of what just happened I killed the engine and restarted it and I took off to get home asap during my ride home I encountered this problem a couple more times , I took it and had a diagnostics on it and it showed a code of p0720 which indicated a transmission speed sensor problem so I looked up any recalls on this issue and found that in fact my truck had been recalled for this issue so I contacted Ford and they have my truck under the customer appreciation program and informed me that I was past the extended warranty program and my truck was over 150,000 miles so basically they were no longer responsible to fix it but my truck is actually under the recall status because it has the 5.0 liter engine and that recall calls for a programming and molded lead frame replacement and from what I read that recall don't expire because it is a safety issue and the code is stored in my PCM and cant be erased so my question is , is my truck still covered under the 19S19 recall since my engine is the 5.0 liter v8 coyote engine ?

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F150. The contact stated that while driving at 30 MPH, the speedometer went to zero unexpectedly. In addition, the transmission failed to properly shift gears. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road, turned off, and minutes later, it was restarted. After the vehicle was restarted, the wrench warning light illuminated. The contact moved the shift lever to reverse(R), then to drive(D). The contact test drove the vehicle around the parking lot at the apartment complex, and the vehicle functioned as intended. The contact's son-in-law took the vehicle to the dealer to be diagnosed and the contact was informed that DTC: P0722 (Powertrain Control Module (PCM) was receiving "no signal" from the transmission Output Speed Sensor (OSS), P1500 (Intermittent Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) signal detected by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), and P2195 (Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detected that the Bank 1 Sensor 1 oxygen (O2) sensor signal was stuck lean). The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while the vehicle was turned and when the contact placed the shift lever into reverse(R) the wrench warning light illuminated. The contact parked the vehicle and had not been driven since due to safety concerns. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 166,398.

SUSPENSION Mar 10, 2026
2013 Ford F‑150 Limited – VIN [XXX] On [XXX], my 2013 Ford F‑150 Limited experienced a sudden and dangerous transmission failure involving the transmission conductor plate (lead frame). My son was driving the vehicle when the dashboard abruptly shut off, multiple warning lights illuminated, and the truck lost engine power. Shortly afterward, while braking, the engine attempted to accelerate on its own, and the vehicle resisted slowing down. This created an immediate and life‑threatening situation. These symptoms match the known failure mode of defective 6R80 transmission lead frames, which NHTSA has previously identified as a serious safety hazard due to sudden loss of power, erratic shifting, unintended acceleration, and dashboard failure. The vehicle became undriveable and could not be safely transported to a Ford dealership. It had to be repaired at a nearby independent shop (Auto Stop Elite of Purcellville, VA). The conductor plate was replaced on February 12, 2026, at a total cost of $1,689.59. Despite this being a well‑documented safety defect affecting many Ford F‑150 owners, no recall or service campaign was ever issued for my VIN. No warnings appeared on Ford’s website, Carfax, or through any Ford communication. Other owners have received reimbursement from Ford for the same failure, yet Ford provided no notice or remedy in my case. This defect placed my son’s life in danger and represents a clear safety issue that should be addressed. I am requesting that NHTSA review this incident as part of the ongoing pattern of conductor plate/lead frame failures in Ford’s 6R80 transmissions. We are informing you because we have contacted Ford and they have done NOTHING to resolve this. We had to have it repaired and were never aware that there was a safety recall. We expect to be reimbursed in full for this repair by Ford. To date - we are being ignored and will now pursue with the Virginia Attorney General's office as well. The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at 35 MPH, the transmission independently downshifted from fifth gear to second gear. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was driven to a nearby parking lot and parked. The vehicle was almost rear-ended because of the failure. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, but it was not inspected. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact stated that the transmission had been replaced twice by the same independent mechanic. The contact stated that the independent mechanic replaced the transmission with a rebuilt transmission after each failure. In addition, the lead frame was replaced by the dealer in 2025. The contact stated that the failure was a known failure with the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL Feb 28, 2026
On two separate occasions, the vehicle downshifted. Once while driving on the interstate at 70 mph, the vehicle downshifted to 3rd gear and locked up the tires. The RPMs went up to 6000. The driver was nearly rear ended. In another instance while driving at 45 mph, the vehicle downshifted to 1st gear. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The issue cannot necessarily be reproduced on demand as it does not happen every time you drive the vehicle but it has happened more than once. The vehicle has been inspected by by a repair shop and the resolution appears to be a system update. There were no warnings, messages, or other symptoms prior to the events. The first event was in approximately January 2026 and the most recent incident February 22, 2026. The vehicle has not been driven since the last incident as we feel it is unsafe.

The above vechile was taken to a Ford dealership when the trouble started with the transmission. Understanding the problem was and still related to the transmission, with the recall for reason for the recall. They took it in and "fixed" said problem. Now some 3 yrs later I still have the problems. They said they reprogrammed the computer on the transmission which they said was the problem. Which the recall stated that the Lead Frame was to be replaced. The truck does the following shifts rough from 3 to 4 gear, then will shift from 3 to 5th, back to 2nd, then to 5th gear then to 6th gear and then will at times go to 1st locking up the rear wheels in traffic. I cannot enough think about putting my granddaughter in the truck, with this happening. They (dealership) will not even look at the truck unless I pay $230.00. I need help. I tell them what it is doing and have a read out report from another shop and have video of the truck stuck in 3rd gear. I can only use the truck to drive 3 miles to work and back home before the transmission starts "acting" up. I cannot use the truck for what it was designed for. Now, I see that another recall maybe open for the same problems for 215 to 2024 vehicles. I need my truck to be a truck and not a big uber. Thank you, your time and attention to this matter. I am concerned about my family's safety as well as others on the road. I do not get on the interstate. I stay on the surface roads and back roads for my safety and the safety of others. Please reopen the past recall for the 2013. I am sure there are hundreds of trucks still having problems if the "Lead Frame" was not replaced or fixed. I have check engine and the wrench lights on my dash. Again, Thank you in advance for your help.06/01

I will have random downshifts while driving my car. Sometimes on the highway at high speeds driving 65-70mph the Ford F150 trucks down shifts to a very low speed. Will also do it at 45 mph and downshift to a very low speed. Has almost caused accidents putting the safety of everyone in the truck and everyone behind the truck at risk of injury or death. From what I know, there are no warning lights On my truck I have already taken it for the recall on the 19S07 transmission sudden down shift(recall 6173).

Driving at normal rate of speed around a right hand turn. Truck spontaneously downshifted in the turn causing tires to spin. Back end of truck slid sideways as the road was wet at the time. Luckily there was a gap between oncoming traffic or there would have been an accident. After regaining control of the vehicle, a wrench icon appears on the dashboard, then the airbag icon lights up. My speedometer/ odometer/ fuel economy gauges are not working. I pulled off the road for safety. Change plans to turn around and go back home versus continue on my 45 minute drive to my appointment. This happened only 3 miles from my home. My truck had little power on acceleration when going back home. After hours of searching online it appears it could be the Molded Leadframe. It also appears there WAS a consumer program from Ford to fix this issue, however, I was told by Ford that they do not notify customers that are affected by this and that the program has expired. This is definitely a safety issue. Thankfully it was me driving and not my [XXX] [XXX] daughter with her drivers permit! While driving my 2013 F150 Eco boost is started shifting erratically. While at 60 MPH the truck would down shift on it's own to 1st gear and my truck would skid. Luckily I did not crash but it's dangerous and it's my only transportation. I took it to Ford and they said I needed a $8K transmission replacement. I ended up taking to a transmission shop for a rebuild but shortly after if did it again. The transmission shop replaced the valve but said Ford needed to reflash the TCM. When I asked for them to follow recall 19S07 they said I would need to bring it in and pay them another $400 for a diagnostic and they couldn't just reflash it. Now I'm in a position where I have to drive what feels like a timebomb and I have no way out of it.

While driving the truck it suddenly shifts down gears, and shoots up rpms, causing the truck to slow down drastically and causing a loss of control in the truck. Potentially causing a severe accident. This issue could seriously cause harm to myself and to others especially going at highway speeds. When turned off the truck won’t start up again without clearing codes.

Faulty molded transmission leadframe. There was a customer satisfaction program for this, that expired 3 years ago. My vehicle is now experiencing the issues with this faulty part consistently. It won't drive past 2nd gear and drops to 1st and stays there. The dealer won't repair it for the faulty part.

"recall" (as described on Ford's website) no. 19N01 is not actually a recall. It's a "Customer Satisfaction Program" that extends warranty on the transmission of my truck to 150000. I was just over that amount of miles when my leadframe became faulty and did exactly what this covers. I was going 70mph and it suddenly dropped into 1st gear and I came to a screeching halt and was thrown into the steering wheel. Luckily nobody was behind me and there were no injuries. Why this isn't a full recall as it is INCREDIBLY dangerous is beyond me. I don't think it's right that this wasn't covered for ALL vehicles with these problems no matter what time or number of miles. I am looking for compensation for the replaced leadframe because Ford KNEW about the problem but chose not to issue a full recall, even though they called it a recall. This put many people in such dangerous situations and my truck still shifts hard to this day. Why is Ford not helping me just because I was just over 150,000 miles.

Driving on the intetstate, the truck lost speed and went down to 5th gear. I have since been told that it is a problem that Ford has with 2013 F150s. It is a “Molded Lead Frame”. It is a $2000 repair that is now out of warranty by 3 years. It has since done this twice while driving down the road, it just loses speed and the last time to almost a complete stop on the highway.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. While driving approximately 70 MPH on the highway, the transmission suddenly failed and shifted from 5th gear to 1st gear, which nearly caused a crash. The contact’s spouse pulled over at the nearest gas station. The vehicle was parked and later driven slowly to a dealer. The dealer indicated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (Power Train). The contact reported that a new oil leak was identified while the vehicle was at the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 275,000.

Transmission shift from 6th gear to 1st gear while on the highway. I nearly wrecked due to the sudden shift in gears. Once I pulled over and restarted the vehicle, it let me shift up to 3rd gear then went to some sort of safe mode and stayed between 3-5 gear. This is a known issue with Ford 2013 Trucks. They issued a customer satisfactory letter, but you needed to have the error codes before they would fix it. It is now a couple outside of their "extended warranty" however I am way under their milage and now I am experiencing the issue. They will not fix the issue since their internal program has expired. According to their website this effects numerous Ford Models over several years. This should be a safety recall.

While driving around 45 mph, the truck down shifted into first gear without notice and almost caused the vehicle behind me to hit me as my vehicle decelerated quickly with no break lights. This happened two other times until I searched to see what the problem was to find out that Ford had a recall on this but it wasn't labeled as a safety one. How is that not a safety recall? Ford only had the recall for a 10 years from year of purchase or 150,000 miles. My truck is beyond the 10 years but not the miles. This seems there should be no limit due to the issue it forces. It seems many owners are experiencing this. The recall is called: Campaign: 19N01

Truck would randomly go into limp mode while driving. Highways, country roads, middle of town, making it difficult to pull off the road with no ability to accelerate to safely merge off the roadway. The cause was from the lead frame in the transmission which was under an “expired” recall 19N01. Dealership charged me $1,500 to fix this. How is this not a safety issue that should have been taken care of by the dealership at no charge. I just bought the truck mid December 2025 and am not happy to have to shell out $1,500 to fix a known issue like this.
