FORD IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2009 AND 2010 F-150 VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM JANUARY 18, 2008, THROUGH NOVEMBER 30, 2009. THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE HOUSING EMBOSSMENT RETAINING THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SPRING MAY FRACTURE DURING NORMAL USAGE RESULTING IN INSUFFICIENT SPRING FORCE TO RETURN THE HANDLE TO THE FULLY STOWED POSITION.
Remedy: OWNERS WILL BE INITIALLY NOTIFIED AND INSTRUCTED TO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO A FORD OR LINCOLN/MERCURY DEALER IF ANY INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE IS LOOSE OR FAILS TO RETURN TO THE STOWED POSITION AFTER ACTIVATION FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE AFFECT MODULE. ONCE PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE, OWNERS WILL BE RENOTIFIED AND INSTRUCTED TO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO A FORD OR LINCOLN/MERCURY DEALER FOR INSPECTION OF EACH INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE. DEPENDING ON THE RESULTS OF THE INSPECTION, THE DEALER WILL EITHER ADD A SPRING EMBOSSMENT REINFORCEMENT OR REPLACE THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE MODULE FREE OF CHARGE. While sitting at school drop off in the morning the passenger side of my rear 3 piece power sliding window spontaneously shattered while my 2 year old daughter was sitting under it. I examined the outside of the window and there were no impacts. The rear window defroster was turned on at the time. No lights or fuses blew. Searching online this is a known problem and Ford has discontinued the window so I am stuck without a rear window currently. I’ve tried 2 separate glass companies and talked with the ford dealer I purchased it from.

Purchased a 2010 Ford F-150 that was fraudulently advertised and sold as a 2014 Ford F-150 with 68,000 miles. The odometer displayed approximately 66,000 miles at time of purchase. An independent mechanic at DTX Automotives confirmed the vehicle actually has approximately 210,000 real miles. The seller presented a Carfax report belonging to a completely different vehicle to conceal the true mileage and year. The vehicle is available for inspection. The odometer discrepancy was confirmed by the mechanic via diagnostic scan. A police report was filed with XXX, Case No. XXX. Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2010 Ford F-150. The contact discovered a mileage discrepancy after the purchase. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 114,500. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the contact was advised to perform Carfax search regarding the vehicle. It was later discovered that the mileage on the Title was 282,262.
BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS Nov 20, 2025
Rear view mirror backup camera flickers and goes on and off while in reverse, sometimes with the screen remaining blank. This can reduce or eliminate the drivers view of what is behind presenting a safety hazard. The driver is unable to see objects behind them. Ford currently has a recall for backup cameras with the same problem on many other Ford Model vehicles. However, the 2010 Ford F150 is not currently on a recall. This is the SECOND 2010 Ford F150 that I have owned that has had this issue and the internet is full of people posting of the same exact issue with the F150.

BRAKE FLUID IS LEAKING OUT OF THE MASTER CYLENDER AND INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. CAUSING LOW BRAKE FLUID IN THE RESIVORE. AND RESULTING IN NO BRAKES. THERE ARE RECALLS FOR THIS ISSUE WITH THE 2013 MODLES. THIS SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO THE 2010 MODLES.

Leaving my driveway today, the 2010 Ford F-150 suddenly indicated a brake fluid level low message and the brake warning indicator turned on. The brake pedal, which was firm about a minute before, suddenly depressed to floor and the truck was stopped only with great difficulty. The sudden change in braking performance would probably have caused an accident if I had been driving in traffic. I took the truck to a mechanic who refilled the master cylinder and bled the brakes. I left the mechanic and pulled out. The brakes were fine leaving the lot. About 1/4 mile later, the brake warning came on and the brakes became spongy. I immediately returned to the mechanic and was informed that the brake master cylinder was draining into the booster. Apparently this is a recall item on later F-150s but it does not appear to include the 2010.

The contact's wife owns a 2010 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving, the vehicle failed to exceed 80 MPH. The contact stated that the ABS and check engine warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where DTC: C1440 (Pressure Transducer Main/Primary Signal Faulted) was retrieved. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact provided the DTC: C1440 to the dealer. The dealer informed the contact that the ABS module needed to be replaced; however, the part had been discontinued. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 131,591.

When put into drive, vehicle unexpectedly accelerated. Could not control or stop the vehicle. The vehicle is no longer available for inspection. The inability to stop the vehicle put myself and other drivers and pedestrians at extreme risk. I am not aware if the vehicle was inspected for cause after the incident. No warnings or symptoms presented themselves at the time of the incident.

Seen that my truck has numerous tsb & recalls for this trans.made at the Dearborn plant for f150 oct.11 2011 through feb 27 2012.see the multiple technical service bulletins for 6r80 16n02,19s07, nhsta 16v248000 & safety recall 16s19 powertrain control module programming. I believe this should also be also extended to cover my transmission.it is a safety issue also.

The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train). On April 25th, 2024 on Interstate 75 in Findlay, OH my truck had the back end lock up briefly and started to hop and fish tail. The engine RPM's went way up and the Service Light came on in the truck and the ignition was shut off (automatically and not by the key) truck had electrical power but engine was no longer running and the truck coasted to a stop on the side of the highway. I had the truck towed back to my house and I went to check for codes with my snap-on computer and no codes were present. I started the truck up and no issues were noticed. I took the vehicle to a local repair shop for further investigation. The rear differential was drained as was the transmission oil. Also the brakes were inspected. The mechanic didn't find anything that could explain the issue. He saw a rear brake pad that wasn't moving as freely as it should but explained that didn't sound like that's what the issue was. Nothing abnormal was noticed in the differential fluid or transmission fluid either. I know that Fords are having issues with the transmission shifting into first gear on its own and am wondering if that is the true issue. That is the only thing that explains what happened that day. The truck is currently running ok. I talked to the Ford dealership today and they said that they would have to confirm that that is what is happening, but it sounds highly likely that that is what happened and since the truck is currently not covered under the current recall the bill would be around $3400. I am filing this so that they and you are aware that it is possible that it is happening to the 2010 model years as well.

The transmission cooler line is prompt to break from the metal and plastic connection from 09 to 14 all model engines. Is caused of the friction of the vehicle, corrosion and weather specificallyis your vehicle is from the north. Causing for the fluid to leak, empty the fluid from the transmission and burning it.... took the vehicle and talk to various mechanic and the dealership and was told is a common problem in those model and year trucks.... there's no recall on them..... The lines from my vehicle are starting to show fluid leak....

Body shop professionals stated that this deployment should not have happened with the damage to the back bumper corner of the f150 truck. Yes, inspected by tow truck driver, insurance and body shop professionals. All state that air bags should not have deployed. No warning lights

The vehicle was placed in 4 wheel drive (high range) and operated normally. Stopped the vehicle and placed it back into 2 wheel drive (indicated on dashboard as in 2 wheel drive). Placed transmission setting into "Park" but did not apply emergency brake. Turned off engine and exited vehicle. Vehicle proceeded to roll backwards down a slight hill until it crashed into tree (damage was limited to body panel). In summary, although the transmission was in park, it acted like it was in neutral. After several attempts of placing the vehicle in and out of 4 wheel drive, it did reestablish the Park mechanism. I have been able to recreate the situation with it continuing to fail.

An aftermarket LED headlight kit was purchased from a large retailer of these products (Americantrucks.com). After receiving the kit and installing, condensation appeared inside the passenger side headlight. I contacted customer support to let them know of the defect. They told me that the part was not defective and I could take the headlight apart and wipe the inside out if I wanted to. I am concerned that the headlamp will fail in use from corrosion on electrical components exposed to the condensation. These headlights are supposed to be completely sealed.

The front strut springs are breaking while driving and while the vehicle is parked. The spring material is defective because of the many fractured parts. This is on a vehicle with less than 65000 miles on it.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 40-50 MPH, the vehicle started jerking with an abnormal slamming sound coming from the transmission, but there was no warning light illuminated. While accelerating the vehicle operated normally. The vehicle was taken an independent mechanic who stated that the vehicle was experiencing a similar failure as TSB Number: 14-0153 and 16-0032. The contact was advised to contact the local dealer. The dealer was contacted and stated that there were no recalls under the VIN. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the VIN was not included in a recall. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 125,000.
