ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Mar 24, 2026
I have had numerous safety warning messages display upon startup and also while driving. The messages are usually combined with a cold ambient temperature and do not display during warm temperatures. The FCA dealership has attempted to fix this issue on at least six different occasions so far without any change. To date, FCA has replaced the original battery, they have updated, flashed the ECU module, performed NHTSA Recall B4C for flashing the cluster, and most recently they replaced the ORC module. FCA indicated that NHTSA-25V882 was not applicable to my VIN despite my VIN production date in April '25; within your suspect period. Original issue remains, FCA STAR case generated however cannot replicate error condition for FCA engineers. The next scheduled visit to FCA is to replace a telematics module for possible link to issue with the Uconnect5 system. This safety issue was first noted before 800 miles and continues through 2768 miles thus far. As this issue pertains directly to a vital Air Bag sensor issue and the inability to call for a SOS assistance, I expect the NHTSA to raise this concern with FCA USA and to determine the cause of this safety defect and issue a new Recall Notification for repair and/or replacement of affected parts.

SUSPENSION Mar 14, 2026
My brand new truck started shaking while accelerating past 65mph. The shaking was not dampened by the suspension at all. (I.e. it kept the same or increased strength). The shaking could cause damage, excessive loosening or wear of critical components and lead to a serious accident at these speeds. It is similar to the "death wobble", but not as violent. It occurred multiple times. The shaking occurred without going over large bumps. I took it to a dealership and they did a load balance and alignment without resolving the problem. They noted a wheel was warped and moved it from the front to the back. This did not solve the problem. It seemed to prevent the shaking if I just tap the gas and wait a few seconds instead of holding it. The transition in and out of eco mode (4 to 8 cylinders) should be looked into.

LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING Feb 9, 2026
Subject: Safety Concern – Vehicle Shuts Down While Driving / Request for Replacement Despite multiple warranty repair attempts, my 2025 Ram 2500 continues to experience unresolved electrical failures. In addition to the previously documented issues, the vehicle shuts down while driving, forcing me to immediately pull over, place the vehicle in park, and restart the engine in order to continue driving. This condition has occurred unexpectedly and without warning. Losing power while the vehicle is in motion presents a serious safety risk, especially during highway or interstate driving. Given that I rely on this truck for work and frequently travel long distances between New Jersey and Texas, this behavior makes the vehicle unsafe and unreliable for its intended use. The truck has already undergone repeated diagnostics, module replacements, software updates, wiring repairs, and battery replacement at authorized Ram dealerships. Despite these efforts, the issue persists. At this point, I have lost confidence in the safety and reliability of this vehicle and do not feel comfortable continuing to drive or own it. I have acted in good faith and allowed multiple opportunities to repair the vehicle. The ongoing shutdowns while driving demonstrate that the defect has not been corrected within a reasonable number of attempts. Requested Resolution: • Immediate escalation of this case due to a safety-related defect • Replacement of the vehicle or trade-assist into another Ram truck • Reimbursement for loss-of-use expenses incurred due to repeated service visits I am requesting a definitive resolution rather than additional repair attempts.

My Trailer Control Module failed when I hooked my travel trailer up to my truck to tow for a weekend trip. This was the first time I hooked my 2018 travel trailer to my truck. The lights started blinking erratically and then the module quit responding completely and I was not able to tow without brakes and lights. There is a new recall issued for this part but my VIN isn’t showing up as eligible. I was forced to pay out of pocket to have my TCM replaced because they tried to blame my trailer. The trailer worked fine on my 2016 Ram 2500. The trailer worked fine on my father’s 2019 Ram 2500 and it works fine now with the new trailer control module installed. Now there is a recall issued but my truck maybe doesn’t fall within the listed dates? However, I have experienced the failure that is being recalled.

Check engine light consistently comes on with codes p0263, p0272, p0266 for contribution balance codes for cylinders 1, 2, 4 & 5. Truck runs rough. Dealership says it’s a 5-8 week process to test and get injectors into replace if that’s the issue. Multiple sources have stated it can be a software update issue and some states still waiting after weeks for fix to be made and paying for a rental car out pocket to have reliable transportation for work and taking care of kids.

I have had my DEF system in my 2025 Ram 2500 Freeze twice now, I live in an area that drops below 12 degrees in the winter. I took it to the dealership the first time and they said the whole thing was frozen solid. I had to pay $365 since it is not covered under warranty for them to completely thaw it out and put new DEF in the tank. 7 days later it froze up again. The Service DEF System message seems to come on every time I have already been driving for awhile. I'm not trying to pay $365 every single time it freezes up.
POWER TRAIN Jan 22, 2026
While driving in 4x4 on a snow covered road, the truck simultaneously got a check engine light as well as several other error messages to include service required to the emergency braking and the trailer brake controller. At the same time, the full exhaust brake engaged without any driver input and caused a sudden slowing of the truck's tires on a slippery surface. The owners manual specifically warns "Do not use the exhaust brake feature when driving in icy or slippery conditions as the increased engine braking can cause the rear wheels to slide and the vehicle to swing around with the possible loss of vehicle control, which may cause a collision possibly resulting in personal injury or death." Fortunately I had a lot of weight in the truck when this happened and I was able to control it, but a malfunction that turns on the full exhaust brake, especially while 4x4 is engaged, is dangerous enough that there is a warning in the manual. This happened twice. I had a solid check engine light on, and the following day while waiting for a service appointment, a slew of new warnings were flashing across the screen, locking the transmission in 6th gear, advising the 4x4 was no longer available, and may others. I attempted to shift from drive to reverse, the gear shifter locked itself in park. I shut the truck off to try restarting it and moving it, but there was no power getting to the truck to use the sos button to call for help in a poor cell reception area, no lighting worked while obstructing half of a travel lane on the roadway. The truck had good voltage prior to this. The truck was towed to the dealer with 5100 miles on it.

Windshield wipers occasionally don’t operate correctly in the mist, wash and intermittent/auto wiper modes. The dealer has confirmed this problem and has a wiper switch on order but there are none available. Because of this being a safety issue, the vehicle has not been driven and is not operational during inclement weather.

The instrument cluster failed completely. All gauges were offline, and the vehicle became stuck in the ACC/IGN “on” state. The push-to-start button would not disengage, the exterior lights stayed on, and the truck acted as if the ignition was on even when the engine was off. While driving, no speedometer, RPM, warning lights, temperature readings, DEF/emissions information, airbag indicators, or other instrument cluster functions were available. The vehicle also displayed a false door-open message. The issue was confirmed by the dealership, and the truck was declared unsafe to drive. The vehicle has remained out of service for months while waiting for the replacement instrument cluster, which has been unavailable due to manufacturer part shortages. The problem can be reproduced and is fully documented by the service center.

The contact owns a 2025 Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the instrument cluster went blank, failing to display pertinent vehicle information. Afterwards, the message that the MIL was not functioning properly was displayed. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the instrument cluster software. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 1,200.
SERVICE BRAKES Nov 14, 2025
I purchased a new 2025 RAM 2500 on June 2, 2025. Within the first week, I began experiencing very soft brake response. Occasionally, I can press the brake pedal to the floor with modest effort, and most of the time, I need to double or triple tap the brakes to achieve a firm response. I have visited four different dealerships across three states regarding this issue. Some service departments have acknowledged the problem, while others have stated it is "normal" and as expected, as documented in my maintenance receipts. My truck has been in for service seven times and currently has 7,900 miles on it. This issue is widely discussed among Dodge Ram owners on forums across the internet. It is even more concerning given that this is a heavy-duty truck intended for towing. I tow a 17-foot, 1,800 lb (dry weight) trailer and often rely on the trailer brakes to safely descend hills or exit highways. I sincerely request your office to investigate the braking issues associated with this vehicle. It is concerning to spend $55,000 on a vehicle that lacks basic safety guarantees and performs like a poorly maintained vehicle many years older. Thank you for your attention to this important consumer and safety matter.
WHEELS Nov 6, 2025
On 11/4/25 Pepboys Tires in Pelham AL installed four new tires on my truck - BF Goodrich K03 tires. After driving 15 miles, the driver rear vehicle wheel and tire detached from the hub. All 8 lugnuts were missing and obviously had not been tightened or torqued to specifications. While Pepboys is performing the repair to my truck at a cost of approximately $2000, they seem uninterested in the risk and danger they are creating with such poor performance and lack of quality controls. They endangered me and everyone that was around me on Hwy 31 when the wheel detached. They need to be held accountable for their poor workmanship and danger to the public. It is not acceptable to me that they said that location had not had a wheel detach from a vehicle following service for 3 years. They must be better. And, must be held accountable. I have documentation of the service and pictures available for your investigation.

Instrument cluster would not turn on in the truck. I turned truck off 2 times and would not power on. Once I made it to my destination came back 15 minutes later the cluster started working again.

Trailer lights not working properly, the marker lights flash when turn headlights on loss of brake and turn signal lights. Hooked another ram 2500 up and did same then hooked a 2013 ram and a 2021 Yukon up and all lights on trailer worked as it should. Have contacted dealer they are saying they never heard of, then at another dealer they are saying they have 4 rams with this issue and it’s with the trailer module and one was even melted. Saftey issue to me because if I’m driving my camper with my kids in it and we have no proper lighting to avoid being hit or if it melts and causes a vehicle fire
FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Sep 16, 2025
On Sunday, 9/14/25 driving on a 70 MPH interstate highway, pulling a trailer behind the Newly-purchased 2025 truck (only 700 miles on it), the road narrowed down to one lane because of a traffic obstruction and cones. As I slowed down to about 35 mph and then went to speed up again as the traffic eased, the vehicle provided a ping notification sound and the Electronic Vehicular Instrument Cluster (EVIC) display stated something to the effect of "Shift into 'P' to start vehicle". I realized that the vehicle was not responsive as expected, indicating power steering had failed, likely because the engine was off. I'm uncertain whether the steering wheel was locked, which is likely, because at that speed, only a very slight turn of the wheel was needed to move into the closed lane on the straight road. I continued to coast to get the vehicle and trailer over to the right, hugging the cones which were mid-lane in the closed lane, allowing other cars to go around me while I came to a complete stop on the interstate to shift into Park. Once I could get the gearshift into Park, I started the vehicle again, at which point it drove normally. The trailer had been weighed just that morning and both tongue and overall weight were well within the capacity of the vehicle. It was hooked up to the electrical systems of the tow vehicle via the 7-pin connector. I had the EVIC set to show vehicular information - oil pressure, oil temperature, etc. I similarly had information like battery voltage displayed on a widget on the uconnect screen. Everything looked nominal. No error code was logged to my knowledge. I have since seen similar reports from other 2025 RAM owners in NHTSA complaints and on social media. My dealership is unaware of these issues having been reported elsewhere, so they are starting from scratch in finding a diagnosis on a seemingly intermittent issue. That process is ongoing at this time.
