The Abs light came on a couple of days before the accident happened. Then light would turn off after awhile but would re appear when truck was driving for a few minutes. My boyfriend was driving to work when he applied the brakes and truck slid into the pole during the winter .Truck was towed and fixed at auto shop. No one was hurt just damaged my truck completely in the front. When I got a letter for a recall on the abs that’s when I took in to the dealership and got that issue fixed. There was one other light that was coming on after the accident but the dealership fixed that issue as well since it was part of the recall.

The brake hydraulic control unit ("HCU") is failing. I have been dealing with intermittent ABS loss for well over a year. It will consistently flash/alarm during most daily drives with the worst being when on long highway drives and am unable to use cruise control because of this issue. Also, it is a huge safety issue not knowing if the ABS system will function as it is supposed to putting my families lives and the lives of those around me in grave danger. Yes, I have spoken with my local dealership where I purchased the vehicle and with FCA directly and everyone tells me to wait longer. This is completely unacceptable and unsafe for FCA to be allowed to keep this vehicles on the road knowing that there is a safety issue that they seem unwilling to fix.

Open Recall – Brake/ABS System – No Remedy Available & Active Safety Issue I am reporting a safety concern regarding my 2018 Ram 2500 truck that currently has an open recall affecting the braking/ABS system. My vehicle is actively experiencing warning indicators, including ABS/brake system alerts and constant audible warnings while driving. This indicates the system is not functioning as designed. I have been informed by the dealership that parts are not yet available to complete the recall repair. Despite this being an active safety-related issue, no temporary repair, workaround, or alternative solution has been provided. I am continuing to operate a vehicle with a known defect that affects braking performance and safety systems. This situation creates a significant safety concern, as the ABS system may be disabled, increasing the risk during emergency braking or adverse road conditions. Vehicle: 2018 Ram 2500 Issue: ABS/Brake system warning active, constant alert/dinging Recall: Open, no parts available Dealer response: Unable to repair due to lack of parts I am requesting immediate assistance, a temporary repair or safe alternative.

Was towing with my 2018 Ram 2500 ... truck ABS failed to engage under emergency stopping narrowly missing stopped car in front of me... truck took substantially longer to stop and brakes locked up... There is an outstanding recall on this but RAM says parts are not available... there appear to be in excess of 317,000 large heavy duty Ram trucks on the road, probably most towing heavy loads, with failing ABS and Hydraulic Control Units (HCU). At what point will Ram be made to actually fix the problem and make parts available to their service dealers versus just ignoring the issue??? Now the truck has permanent ABS light on but no parts from Ram to fix???

ABS HCU recall has not been rectified. This recall is now over 15 months old, and the problem has been known for over 3 years (see class action lawsuit) without a foreseeable remedy. This results in a major safety issue and driving performance issue not being addressed and there is apparently no regulatory movement to force a solution. At this point, FCA and NHTSA need to institute a vehicle buyback program to enable owners trapped with unusable/inoperable/non-saleable vehicles to move on and be reimbursed for this lack of action.

The vehicle was taken to where the tires were purchased, and it was diagnosed that there was a slow leak through the sidewall of the passenger’s side rear tire, and the tire could not be repaired. The tire was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was advised to return to the store for the tire to be evaluated. The failure mileage was approximately 57,414. Recently, I experienced a dangerous incident that I believe is directly related to this unresolved recall. While driving my vehicle and towing my RV, I attempted to stop at a red light and experienced what can only be described as brake failure. The vehicle did not respond as expected when braking, and I was pushed through the intersection because I had little to no braking capability. This situation nearly resulted in a serious collision. Fortunately, I was able to avoid a collision. I was first notified of this recall nearly two years ago. Since that time, I have attempted approximately eight to nine times to contact my dealership to obtain the necessary repair or an appropriate remedy. Despite these repeated attempts, the recall has not been resolved.

Drove the vehicle & during the trip the warning bell for the brake system continued to go off every minute or so. As we were coming down a hill that required braking, only 1 wheel would brake & the others failed to stop causing the 1 that worked to get extremely hot. It became difficult to stop by the time we reached the bottom of the hill. We no longer drive this truck due to safety issue.

Started having abs and brake warning lights in 2023. Took to dealer where vehicle was purchased to find out the abs module and something else was bad. After a year I still had not gotten parts. In 2024 a recall was issued on said parts. As of 2026 parts are still not available. The vehicle manufacturer will not do anything to remedy the issue.

A recall notice was issued on November 27, 2024, regarding a faulty hydraulic brake control unit (HBU) in my 2018 Ram 2500. It has now been over a year since the recall was announced, and there is still no remedy available to replace the unit. Currently, both the ABS and Traction Control service lights are illuminated on the dashboard. When I contacted my service department, I was informed that no action can be taken until an official remedy is established. Could you please advise how much longer owners should expect to wait for this issue to be resolved? Given that more than a year has passed since the recall was issued, I would have expected a corrective solution to be available by now. Thank you for your time and assistance.

See attached document for complaint. I have a low mileage RAM 2500 Tradesman Pickup. Many months have elapsed since the original recall notice and I didn’t drive the truck for a time period. It now seems that the repair is taking an unreasonable amount of time. Your attention to this issue will be appreciated.

STEERING Mar 10, 2026
Subject: Safety Defect / Recall Not Properly Completed – 2018 Ram 2500 Steering Drag Link Vehicle: 2018 Ram 2500 VIN: [XXX] Recall Campaign: 19V‑021 / V06 – Steering Drag Link Jam Nut Complaint Description: I am filing a safety complaint regarding a potential unresolved defect on my 2018 Ram 2500. This vehicle was included in Recall 19V‑021 / V06, issued to address a safety issue where the steering drag link jam nut may loosen, potentially resulting in loss of steering control. The dealership claimed that the recall was performed on my truck. However, upon inspection, I have observed the following: 1.The jam nut on the outboard drag link is completely smooth with no tack weld, and it spins freely by hand. 2.The drag link steering arm has snapped completely in half. This failure occurred while driving at low speed (~30–35 mph) and could have caused a serious accident or fatality. 3.The installed components appear to be the original, pre-recall parts, not the upgraded or properly repaired components required by the recall. Due to these observations, it is clear that the recall repair was either not performed or performed incorrectly. This poses an immediate and serious safety risk. I request that NHTSA investigate this matter to ensure that my vehicle and others like it receive proper recall repairs, and to hold the manufacturer accountable for reporting and completing recall repairs accurately. I have photographs of the failed component and the jam nut condition available upon request. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My vehicle is under an active recall C4B/NHTSA 24V-896. This recall was issued on Nov 27, 2024. According to the manufacturer there is no repair part available as of today Mar9, 2026. That is completely unacceptable. My ABS system has been compromised for 2 years now. I have been driving with an ABS system that has failed and poses a great risk. Since this recall was issued 15 months have gone by. I find it implausible that the manufacturer has not been able to engineer a remedy for this. They are leaving a huge risk on the road. They should not be allowed to let this much time elapse. If they can not come up with a repair then they should be replacing my vehicle. I would like to know what the NHTSA is doing about this situation.

I received a recall notice (C4B/NHTSA 24V-896) and since the parts weren't available at the time, registered at recalls.mopar.com on 4/1/2025 for notification once the parts become available. It's now almost a year later and I still haven't received a notification about the parts being available. I've also contacted my dealer several times to check with them as well, but they say the parts still aren't available yet. The back of the recall notification mentions submitting a complaint if the dealer fails or is unable to remedy this defect within a reasonable time, so I think this fits that definition and I'm submitting this complaint.
