The original recall began in June 2012, and owners of those vehicles may obtain the free remedy. Sufficient parts are not yet available for owners of the vehicles covered by the September 2012 expansion, but are expected to be available in early 2013. After driving my Honda Accord for 135,000 miles, the ignition switch malfunctioned and I am unable to start the car, it seems like I need to replace the switch. After doing research I found out that many Hondas of the same model and years 2003-2009 experienced the same issues which leads me to believe their might be a manufacturing default.
The contact owns a 2006 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving 15-20 MPH, the contact became aware of an abnormal burning odor, and there was smoke coming from under the hood. The contact stated that the smoke increased while at a complete stop in traffic. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact inspected the vehicle after pulling over to the side of the road and after arriving at the residence. The contact stated that the power steering hose was leaking at the back of the engine, near the firewall, onto the catalytic converter, and onto the power steering lines. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V222000 (Steering); however, the dealer informed the contact that the recall repair could not be performed because the power steering pump was an aftermarket part. The contact stated that the dealer failed to honor the recall repair, which only involved the power steering hose replacement. The vehicle was taken to Automotive Technology of West Islip, where the contact was informed that the vehicle should be repaired under the recall. The mechanic contacted the manufacturer on the contact's behalf; however, the manufacturer confirmed that the recall repair could not be performed because the power steering pump was an aftermarket part. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 141,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

The vehicle was taken to two Honda dealerships apon noticing the D light blinking on the dashboard after reaching highway speeds. Also started getting worse overtime, currently when starting up, and putting into drive, nothing happens, and after a few seconds it will plurge forward into gear on its own. Down shifting when braking is rough and delayed also. Ive addressed this issue with Honda, and they just look my vin number and tell me there is no recall and id have to pay $200 out of pocket simply to run a diagnostic, when I know this should be covered under their recall as all symptoms are matching their current recalls for this vehicle. Also accomanied sometimes with a check engine light indicating the O2 Sensor connected to the catalater converter is having a delayed reaction. Also the airbag red light is always steady illuminated. This vehicle has never been in a crash and is very well maintained and Id like to keep it that way by addressing this issues accordingly in a timely manner. Thank you, Kindly.

While driving down street, both curtain airbags deployed sporadically with absolutely no cause. I was not hit anywhere and I was not even using my brakes or slowing to a stop. My head got smashed in and my view was completely obstructed. I was able to pull off road to safety.
I was ran off the road by another driver on March 8, 2024. I honked so that they would know I was there and then swerved as they continued to come towards me. As this happened, I lost control of my vehicle and it fishtailed on the highway, doing a complete 180° and going from 70 mph to 0 mph as I crashed into a concrete barrier on the shoulder of the road. The airbags did not deploy. My car will likely be totaled and because of its age, we will not keep it. It will not be available for inspection. My safety was put as risk because my airbags did not deploy. Thankfully, in this instance, I was not harmed but I could’ve been. The problem was not confirmed by the dealer. The vehicle was inspected by police and is currently undergoing inspection by insurance. There were no warning signs of this failure.

The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V501000 (Air Bags) but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 85,000.
While driving home from work at highway speeds in less than 1 minute I went from Total normal Driving Experience to feeling like I had a vibration likely a flat. Luckily it was the back tire so I was able to safely steer off the highway. Upon inspecting the tire it was completely gone! Only minimal sidewall attached to the rim on both inside and outside of the wheel. The sidewall failed approximately 1 in Above the Rim lip. All the way around on both sides. This is on a general gmax as-05 215/50/ ZR 17 purchased in 2021 from tirerack.com. these tires are used seasonally in addition to winter tires so they have minimal miles for being a little over 2 years old. I also recently had the car New York State inspected in the last 30 days. upon reaching out to Tire Rack I learned there was a substantial recall of almost 100,000 continental and general brand tires that were " over cured". This tire is not on the list but did exactly what the description of the recalled tires had done. I do not feel safe traveling on the remaining tires and I feel other people could be in danger of this happening to this model Tire. I just want to keep myself and other safe and feel like I'm going to get stonewalled with a retailer on warranty. Also want to keep others from potential harm as this had happened on my front wheel in the middle of rush hour traffic it could have been disastrous and deadly! Up until this I loved these tires they were sporty, great handling, quiet and wearing very evenly and seem to be long-lasting so far. I hope Continental/general does the right thing by adding this tire to the recall list. Also this car was recently New York State inspected less than 30 days ago there is ample tread and the tires have been diligently rotated and they are only on the car for 7 months at a time as I have a set of General winter tires that I switch between seasonally.
The contact owns a 2006 Honda Accord equipped with General Tires, Tire Line: G-Max AS-05, Tire Size: 215/50/R17, DOT Number: CN6AWD8R4020. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 65-70 MPH, the vehicle was vibrating and making an abnormal sound. The contact pulled over to the side of the roadway. Upon inspection, the contact noticed that the rear passenger's side tire had an inch of tread remaining on the sidewall. The contact replaced the tire with the spare tire. The tire retailer was made aware of the failure. The tire manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The tire failure mileage was approximately 15,000. The vehicle failure mileage was 139,000. The VIN was unavailable.
The AC DELCO brake pads were reported to be designed for use on the front calipers of a 2006 Honda Accord. While performing a routine brake caliper cleaning and inspection, I observed that the friction material completely separated from the metal backing plate on the passenger outboard brake pad. Additionally, an area near the top portion of the friction material cracked, forming an approximate one inch vertical tear through the pad. The crack was missing approximately 4 to 5 millimeters of friction material across horizontally (i.e., it was possible to look through it). Separation of the friction material from the backing plate appeared to be partially from corrosion/rust that was able to occur behind the friction material; between it and the metal backing plate. The two points at which protrusions from the friction material attached to the backing plate experienced shear and were completely severed. This resulted in diminished braking capacity and may have contributed to a minor accident as the car was not braking as effectively or responsively as usual.
The left passenger seatbelt will not retract - supposed to be a lifetime warranty and as a result airbag indicator light is on, so I take it to the dealer and they tell me seatbelts are on back order and they said it could be months or even years before I get a seatbelt and there is no ETA for it to arrive. So now, I have to drive the vehicle with no seatbelt and non-working airbags risking tickets or worse loss of life. This is unacceptable. What is the point of a lifetime warranty .

Clicking in steering wheel, and steering wheel very stiff. Not sure if it's the flex coupler or something else. Has been ongoing for probably 2 or 3 years. Also headliner is falling, has been lifting for a couple of years but now it's to the point where I'm afraid it'll fall on my head and block my vision while driving. This is a common issue with these older hondas Headliner needs a recall/warranty extension from the manufacturer. The flex coupler if that is the issue needs a recall or warranty extension as well. Kia has done this for their older specific vehicles with this flex coupler issue (my other car which had the same problem)

Power steering fluid leakage that smokes up under hood, loss of power to steering and extremely difficult to steer. Major safety issue.
The 2006 Honda Accord VP Sedan was hit in an intersection by a Van that was trying to speed through a red light. The van hit the Accord on the front of the car, which spun the Accord causing it to hit the van again in the rear passenger side. The Accord has 6 airbags, but none of them went off. It appears that the front airbags should have went off, and possibly the passenger side airbags. I contacted Honda about the issue, but they insisted that I follow the direction that the insurance company determined.

I was driving up a hill got to the stop light which red . And then light turned green i went to take off i heard a big bang as i began to accelerate my vehicle began to drift backwards into traffic I put my hazard on one grabbed the emergency brake. I then was able to have some people punch mi vehicle into a parking space until a tow truck came . Here if goes my drivering axle broke in half and my CV joint broke which my transmission fell.

Brought my 2006 Honda Accord at Scott Robinson Honda Service Center and was told I would have pay for the airbags..
The passenger air bag indicator light stays illuminated. The car has been taken to several different mechanics who temporarily are able to make the light go away but that say that this is an issue they have seen with different 2006 Honda Accords and the it is a defective factory sensor. Tony Honda in Oahu HI has said that because they do not show a recall for this vehicle, it would be an out of pocket cost. It seems that this is a safety issue because it is unsure whether there is a problem with the airbag itself and not just the sensor. Please advise
The contact owned a 2006 Honda Accord. The contact stated that her son was driving approximately 65 MPH. The contact's son lost control and rolled the vehicle. The contact's son was knocked unconscious due to the vehicle had rolled about 10 times, according to the police report. The police reported that the air bags failed to deploy. The son was transported by ambulance to the ER. The son had suffered a concussion and had multiple small lacerations on both arms and face. The contact's son had suffered severe bruising on his chest, legs, and arms from the effects of rolling the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot and declared a total loss by the contact's insurance provider. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 236,000.

I recently learned of the NHTSA's complaint section and is the reason in the delay in reporting this incident: Front Driveshaft Breakage/Failure On May 1, 2014, the Front Left Driveshaft/CV Axle Broke on my 2006 Honda Accord EX V6 4-Door. This vehicle had 177,694 miles at the time of incident. The car was stopped at an intersection waiting to make a left-hand turn. After the traffic light turned green, the car just started rolling when the driveshaft snapped/broke. On May 2, 2014, this vehicle was towed, and my Auto Technician was stunned to see the axle/driveshaft had broken. He stated that driveshafts are, typically, made of hardened steel and should never break. He also mentioned that if this break would’ve occurred at expressway speeds (the majority of my driving is at expressway speeds), this would’ve been catastrophic. Clearly, this is a Major Safety Issue. This vehicle is still in service and currently has 315,000 miles. At the current mileage, I am quite concerned that the Replacement Honda Driveshaft (Front Left) and the Original Front Right Driveshaft may also break; quite possibly, at high speeds. A search of the various Honda Forums reveals that this breakage/failure is a common problem with Honda Driveshafts. Recently, Honda recalled some vehicles for this Driveshaft Breakage Problem. My vehicle was not included in the recall.
While exiting a grocery store parking lot the honda accord 2006 air bags malfunctioned and deployed. The honda accord 2006 'did not' strike a vehicle, a vehicle 'did not' strike the honda accord 2006, the honda accord 2006 'did not' strike any object in the parking lot, no object in the parking lot caused any friction with the honda accord 2006 to make the air bags deploy. After reviewing the damages which occurred from the deployment of the air bags; the driver's air bag is hanging out, the passenger's air bag is hanging out, the dome lights have been knocked down from the ceiling, the wind shield has 4 cracks in it. At this time myself and the passenger are noticing a ringing in our ears. I myself have a tiny split in my lower lip. When the incident took place an individual came to the honda accord 2006 to ask if things were ok. The individual states, "I heard a pop!! So I came to check things out." Today is 4/3/2022, the incident took place around 3pm. With today being sunday honda is closed. No call was able to be made to ask questions or file a report.
My car is leaking power steering fluid somewhere. I can fill it to the recommended line, drive 10 minutes down the road and start having problems turning again. It is worse when turning slowly like when backing out of a parking spot and then turning the wheel to be able to accelerate in the correct direction. I have also noticed smoke coming from my car if I am sitting in park after putting fluid in, it is worse if I have my heat on. I am currently pregnant and this is my only form of transportation to be able to get my son to and from school and myself to work and every where else I have to drive to. I have almost hit parked cars because I can't get the steering wheel to turn. I am afraid that I will be driving down the road and end up not being able to turn into a curve in the road or something and end up rolling/wrecking my car. I am afraid that my car could catch on fire while I am waiting in the pickup line for my son which would put other parents, children, and other cars at risk. Yes the problem has been confirmed. The vehicle has not been inspected. No warning lamps or anything. I have been dealing with this for almost 3 months. It is causing pain in my neck, back, arms, and shoulders.
Repeated sudden (5) flat tires in a span of a year - various positions on vehicle and all happening suddenly while driving. Not caused by any foreign debris or punctures. Repairs would not hold long, however. Have replaced all 4 tires due to fear of sudden flats causing accident. Tires: 2155017 HER Roadtour 455 215/50R17 DOT U96A H3U 0919
ACCORDING TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP I AM HAVING POWER STEERING ISSUES RELATED TO THE HOSE GETTING TOO HOT AND ERODING CAUSING MY CAR TO START BURNING UNDER THE HOOD CAUSING NOT ONLY A BURNING SMELL BUT ALSO VISIBLE MELTING TO AREAS OF MY VEHICLE BOTH UNDER THE HOOD AND AREAS ON THE PASSAGE SIDE OF MY VEHICLE NEAR THE WINDSHIELD. I AM LUCKY MY CAR DID NOT SET IN FIRE WHILE DRIVING AROUND WITH MY 7 YEAR OLD IN THE CAR WITH ME. ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THE ISSUE HAD GONE UNDIAGNOSED FOR SEVERAL WEEKS ALTHOUGH I HAD BEEN ATTEMPTING TO FIND THE SOURCE OF THE ISSUE.
PASSENGER AND BOTH REAR WINDOWS FAILED AT THE SAME TIME. NO SWITCH ON ANY DOOR (INCLUDING THE DRIVER'S SIDE) WILL RAISE OR LOWER THE WINDOWS. WHEN THE SWITCHES ARE DEPRESSED, A CLICKING SOUND IS MADE.
I ENTERED MY CAR'S VIN BUT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. I FREQUENTLY SEE CARS DRIVING AT DUSK OR AT NIGHT WITH NO LIGHTS ON. THEIR DRLS AUTOMATICALLY COME ON AND THE DASH LIGHTS ARE AUTOMATICALLY LIT SO THEY THINK THEY ARE OK, BUT THERE ARE NO LIGHTS ON THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE AND OFTEN THE DRLS AREN'T AS BRIGHT AS HEADLIGHTS. IT'S A CONDITION THAT DRIVERS DON'T REALIZE NEEDS ADDRESSING AND IS DANGEROUS FOR MANY REASONS.
MY RADIO/CCD PLAYER HAS STOPPED WORKING. TURN IT ON AND ALL YOU GET IS STATIC. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE IT WORKING AGAIN ANY SUGGESTIONS? WHEN I USE MY RADIO THE VEHICLE IS MOVING. IT MIGHT NOT BE IMPORTANT TO YOU BUT IT IS TO ME. I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN IN MY CARS

I FILED A RECALL CLAIM WITH AMERICAN HONDA. THE CASE NUMBER IS 11536174. THIS WAS FOR A RECALL ON THE AIRBAGS. ALSO, THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION STALLS AND DECELERATES WHEN GETTING ABOVE 25 RPM. AMERICAN HONDA SAID THIS ISSUE WAS A RECALL BUT APPEARED TO BE "FIXED" A FEW YEARS AGO. BUT SINCE THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM, I WAS ASSURED IT WOULD BE FIXED. JASON, AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME IT WOULD BE "TAKEN CARE OF" BUT THEN, TRIED TO BILL ME $150 FOR "DIAGNOSTIC" FEES PLUS THEN TOLD THE PARTS AND LABOR WOULD BE AN ADDITIONAL $800.WE WERE GIVEN A RENTAL CAR. ABOUT AN HOUR AN 20 MINUTES AFTER DROPPING OFF THE CAR, WE WERE CALLED TO SAY THE CAR WAS READY. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WAS DONE. THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT WAS STILL LOCKED. THEY WOULD HAVE HAD TO UNLOCK IT TO MAKE THE AIRBAG REPAIR. AMERICAN HONDA TOLD ME THE ENTIRE CANISTER IN THE AIR BAG AREA HAD TO BE REPLACED AS WELL AS NEW AIR BAGS INSTALLED. MISLTIN HONDA SCREWED US! THEY ALSO SAID THESE 2 REPAIRS WOULD TAKE 6 HOURS. THEY FRAUDULENLY BILLED AMERICAN HONDA FOR 6 HOURS AND DID NOTHING! THEY WERE INSTRUCTED TO PROVIDE PROOF OF THE OLD PARTS TO SHOW ANYTHING WAS DONE! MY CAR REMAINS UNSAFE TO DRIVE, POTENTIALLY CAUSING THE AIRBAGS TO NOT DEPLOY AND THE TRANSMISSION TO STALL, CAUSING A CRASH! I'D LIKE MY SERVICE TO BE TAKEN CARE OF BY HONDA IN MANTECA, PLEASE. MISSION ALSO BILLED AMERICAN HONDA FOR OUR RENTAL. THERE WAS ALSO A RECALL ON SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE GAS PEDAL..A PART OR COMPUTER ISSUE.

THE CAR ACCELERATES EVEN WHEN NOT PUSHING THE PEDAL ITS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR WAS DIAGNOSED AND GIVEN CODE BUT HONDA WILL NOT REPAIR THIS VERY DANGEROUS SAFETY RECALL ON MY CAR EVEN THOUGH IT IS HAVING THE SAME SYMPTOMS FROM CAMPAIGN 19E068. THE CAR DOES THIS WHEN IN MOTION ON ANY ROAD OR HIGHWAY.
I BOUGHT A USED VEHICLE FROM ALOHA MOTOR GROUPS INC. ON FEB. 28, 2020. I WAS NEVER TOLD THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SALVAGED. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE SENDING MY TITLE AND EVERYTHING OUT. I HADN'T RECEIVED ANYTHING AS OF AUGUST 28, 2020, SO I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY PULLED OUT MY TITLE, ATTACHED TO SOMEONE ELSE'S PAPERWORK, AND REALIZED THAT THE SALVAGE INSPECTION WAS NEVER CLEARED. SO, NOW I AM STUCK WITH THEM NOT HAVING ANY EXPLANATION OR MEANS OF FIXING THIS ISSUE. THEY ARE DENYING THEIR INVOLVEMENT AND ARE REFUSING TO HAVE A NEW MARYLAND SAFETY INSPECTION DONE AFTER THE SALVAGE INSPECTION IS COMPLETED EVEN THOUGH THEY FAILED TO PROVIDE A PROPER INSPECTION AND TITLE FOR OVER 6 MONTHS.
