Icon Vehicle Dynamics, LLC (Icon) is recalling all 05-UP FSD 2.5 Centerline Stabilizer Kits with part number 65050. The kits were sold as an accessory for certain 2005-2021 Ford F-250 4X4 and F-350 4X4 pickup trucks. The foam ring inside the stabilizer "through shaft" may block the piston ports, possibly causing the steering to lock up.
Remedy: Icon will notify owners, and dealers will install a new shock assembly with a revised foam ring and steel support disc, free of charge. The recall began December 21, 2020. Owners may contact Icon customer service at 1-951-689-4266.

POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM)
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2011-2015 Ford F-350, F-450, and F-550 trucks manufactured February 22, 2010, to January 30, 2015, and equipped with ambulance or fire engine preparation packages. The affected vehicles may detect an incorrect Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor (EGT) fault indicating that the vehicle is too hot, causing the engine management system to shut down the engine and prevent its immediate restart.
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will update the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software, free of charge. The recall began on April 22, 2015. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 15S09.

Iowa Mold Tooling Co., Inc. will notify owners and dealers to inspect the Muncie PTO pressure switch to determine if it is from the range of defective switches and if required, remove the pressure switch assembly and put a plug in the port where the PTO switch had been installed. This switch was never being utilized. This will be done free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in mid-July 2014. Owners may contact Iowa Mold Tooling Co., Inc. at 1-800-247-5958.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-350 SD. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the vehicle jerked and lost motive power. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was restarted; however, the vehicle drove at a reduced speed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that metal shavings were found in the fuel filter. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.

TRUCK HAS ABOUT 65K MILES ON IT. IT HAS HAD 2 MAJOR DIESEL ENGINE MALFUNCTIONS THAT LEFT ME STRANDED ON THE ROAD. THE FIRST TIME I BARELY MADE IT OFF THE TRAVEL LANES. THE SECOND TIME AT LEAST I WAS ABLE TO GET FULLY OFF THE ROAD. BOTH TIMES WE WERE ON THE HIGHWAY. IT ALREADY HAS HAD THE FUEL PUMP GO OUT CAUSING MAJOR PROBLEMS AND HAVING A NEW FUEL SYSTEM PUT IN. NOW SOMETHING ELSE INTERNALLY OF THE ENGINE HAS BLOWN UP AND NOW IT HAS METAL SHAVING ALL THRU THE ENGINE. THE FIRST TIME IT TOOK OVER 2 MONTHS TO GET FIXED AND THIS TIME ITS BEEN IN THE SHOP 8 WEEKS AND THE FORD EXTENDED WARRENTEE STILL HASN'T APPROVED THE REPAIRS. I'VE READ MANY ON LINE POSTS SAYING THAT THESE 2011 DIESEL ENGINES ARE EXPLODING AND FORD WON'T COVER THE REPAIRS OR MAKE GOOD.

A FUEL INJECTOR CLAMP BROKE LEADING TO RAW FUEL POURING DOWN THE SIDE OF THE MOTOR AS WELL AS VAPORIZED FUEL SPRAYING AROUND THE TOP OF THE MOTOR. AFTER ORDERING THE REPLACEMENT CLAMP I REALIZED THEY HAVE CHANGED THE DESIGN FROM A PIECE OF CAST METAL TO STAMPED STEEL ( MUCH STRONGER). IF THE FUEL IGNITED IT COULD BE CATASTROPHIC. LUCKILY THE CLAMP BROKE IN MY DRIVE WAY AND NOT WHILE TOWING A HEAVY LOAD. THIS COULD LEAD TO THE VEHICLE SHUTTING DOWN OR WORSE CATCHING FIRE. ENCLOSE FIND PICTURES OF THE BROKEN CLAMP AND THE REDESIGNED NEW CLAMP. THERE ARE 7 MORE CLAMPS ON THIS MOTOR WAITING TO FAIL. THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAS 57,000 MILES ON IT AND HAS NEVER BEEN ABUSED.

DRIVING A 2011 F350 WEST BOUND 6 AUG 2017 ON CANADIAN HWY 16, EXCELLENT ROAD AND WEATHER, STRAIGHT SECTION WHILE TOWING 40 FT FIFTH WHEEL. HAD JUST CHECKED FOR CORRECT INFLATION. BLOW OUT OCCURRED ON A STRAIGHT CLEAR LEVEL SECTION WHILE DURING THE SPEED LIMIT IN CRUISE CONTROLL. COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL IN OTHER SITUATIONS. BOUGHT FOUR NEW COOPER TIRES TO REPLACE THE GRANADAS. WE WERE TRAVELING ON US23 IN WISE VIRGINIA, DOWN A MOUNTAIN. A SIGNAL AT THE BOTTOM TURNED RED; WHEN MY HUSBAND APPLIED THE BRAKES, THE ENGINE EXPERIENCED TOTAL FAILURE. THERE WAS NO ADVANCE INDICATION FROM THE VEHICLE SAFETY SYSTEM THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG. WITH NO ENGINE POWER, MY HUSBAND HAD NO BRAKES OR POWER STEERING TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. DUE TO DRIVER SKILL AND LUCK, WE WERE ABLE TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A SAFE STOP. THE VEHICLE IS NOW AT FREEDOM FORD IN WISE, AND THEIR TECHNICIAN SAYS THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO EXCESSIVE WATER IN THE FUEL, AND THE FUEL SYSTEM IS CONTAMINATED AND NEEDS TO BE COMPLETELY REPLACED. THIS INDICATES TO- VARIOUS OUTSIDE MECHANICS- THAT THE WATER AND FUEL SEPARATOR WASN'T WORKING; THUS ALLOWING THE ENGINE TO BECOME OVERWHELMED. THIS SUGGESTS FAULTY PARTS- A FAULTY SEPARATOR-WHICH SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER OUR WARRANTY. HOWEVER, FORD IS CLAIMING THAT THE FUEL SYSTEM FAILURE IS WHAT CAUSED THE COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER.

I WAS PASSING A TRANSPORT TRUCK AND JUST AS I GOT EVEN WITH THE DOOR OF THE TRUCK MY FORD F350 SUPER DUTY MOTOR QUIT, JUST SHUT DOWN. A BUS WAS COMING IN MY LANE AS I WAS PASSING, THE TRUCK SLOWED DOWN TO LET ME BY BUT I HAD NO POWER, NO POWER BRAKES OR POWER STEERING. THE BUS SLOWED DOWN AND I BRAKED ENOUGH TO GET IN BACK OF THE TRUCK AND OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE BUS WENT ON BY AND THE TRUCK CONTINUED ON HIS WAY AND I TRIED TO START MY TRUCK. IT FIRED UP AND WE DROVE TO A TRACTOR SUPPLY AND BOUGHT SOME DIESEL OIL AND WHEN WE CHECKED THE OIL TO SEE HOW MUCH IT WAS DOWN WE WERE SURPRISED TO FIND IT WAS FULL. WE DROVE 200 MILES HOME AND DIDN'T HAVE ANOTHER PROBLEM. THERE WERE NO CODES ON THE COMPUTER SCREEN IN THE TRUCK. I HAVEN'T TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER YET BUT WILL TO SEE IF THEIR EQUIPMENT WILL SHOW A REASON.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. NO KNOTS OR DAMAGE NOTED AND ALL TIRES SAME TEMPERATURE. THOUGHT A BALANCE WEIGHT HAD COME OFF AND TIRES NEEDED TO BE REBALANCED. BEGAN DRIVING ON INTERSTATE WITH NO CHANGE IN VIBRATION. ABOUT 15 MINUTES LATER THERE WAS AN EXPLOSION AND THE TRUCK VIOLENTLY VEERED TO THE RIGHT. PULLED BACK INTO MY LANE AND THEN PULLED OVER TO RIGHT SHOULDER. RIGHT FRONT TIRE DESTROYED. CALLED AAA AND HIGHWAY PATROL. DESCRIBED INCIDENT TO TROOPER AND HE LOOKED AT THE TIRE AND SAID THE BELTS SEPARATED. SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO VEHICLE - BENT RIGHT FRONT BUMPER FORWARD, BLEW A 7 FOOT FACTORY RUNNING BOARD OFF OF THE VEHICLE AND DESTROYED THE RIGHT FRONT QUARTER PANEL. RIGHT FRONT TIRE CHANGED AND STAYED OVERNIGHT AT MOTEL. OBTAINED NEW TIRE REPLACEMENT NEXT MORNING. I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK TO PULL A TRAILER BUT HAVE NOT BOUGHT A TRAILER YET. LUCKILY I WAS NOT PULLING A TRAILER AND THERE WAS NOT A VEHICLE NEXT TO ME IN THE RIGHT LANE WHEN THE EXPLOSION OCCURRED. NO IMPACT POINT, NOT HOLE, NO SIGN OF ANYTHING HITTING (WHICH WOULD BE NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE FROM THE SIDE WITH NO TRAFFIC AROUND). I LOST STEERING IN THE TRUCK. THE STEERING WHEEL TURNED LEFT TO RIGHT AND VISE VERSA WITH A LOT OF PLAY. IT HAPPENS RANDOMLY. THE FRONT END WILL SHAKES BECAUSE OF NO STEERING MAKING THE TRUCK UNCONTROLLABLE. IT IS VERY RANDOM WHEN IT HAPPENS AND HAS HAPPENED AT INTERSTATE SPEED. I HAVE A 2011 FORD F350 THAT CAME WITH MICHELIN LTX A/T2 - LT275/65R 20 TIRES. IT HAS JUST OVER 28,000 MILES, HAS ONLY BEEN SERVICED BY A FORD DEALER, WITH EACH SERVICE REPORT INDICATING NO PROBLEMS WITH RESPECT TO TIRE ISSUES. TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY I EXPERIENCED A SHAKING IN THE FRONT END LIKE A WHEEL HAD THROWN A WEIGHT. PULLING OFF THE ROAD I DISCOVERED A TREAD SEPARATION BUBBLE APPROXIMATELY 12-13" LONG ON THE OUTER PORTION OF A FRONT TIRE. AFTER CHANGING TO THE SPARE WE CONTINUED THAT DAY'S DRIVING. THE NEXT DRIVE IN THE TRUCK WAS TOWING OUR 5TH WHEEL HOME AND I AGAIN EXPERIENCED THE SAME SHAKING. I PULLED OVER AGAIN AND FOUND THE OTHER FRONT TIRE HAD SEPARATED IN THE SAME MANNER AND SIZE BUBBLE. THE TWO SEPARATIONS OCCURRED WITHIN 300 MILES OF EACH OTHER. IT WAS ONLY MY RECOGNITION OF THE VIBRATIONS IN THE STEERING WHEEL THAT ALERTED ME TO PULL OVER TO INSPECT THE TIRES BEFORE THEY BLEW OUT CATASTROPHICALLY. A CATASTROPHIC TIRE FAILURE UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES IS DIFFICULT ENOUGH, BUT WHILE TOWING IS AN IMMINENTLY GREATER HAZARD. I FOUND THE CLOSEST FORD DEALERSHIP AND HAD TO PURCHASE TWO NEW TIRES TO GET HOME. ONCE THERE I WENT TO MY FORD DEALER AND TOLD THEM I WANTED THE OTHER TWO TIRES OFF THE TRUCK BEFORE THEY FAILED. THEY HAVE CONTACTED MICHELIN ON MY BEHALF AND AS YET I HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM THEM, ALTHOUGH IT'S ONLY BEEN A WEEK. I HOPE MICHELIN STEPS UP AND REPLACES ALL FOUR TIRES. THE ONLY OTHER PIECE OF INFORMATION THAT MAY BE A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR IS THAT ALTHOUGH THE TIRES ARE WARRANTED FOR 60,000K MILES, THEY WERE WORN TO (7/32-5/32-10/32) ON THE BUBBLE, 180 DEGREES (7/32-5/32-9/32) ON ONE TIRE AND (8/32-7/32-10/32) AND 180 DEGREES ACROSS (10/32-7/32-10/32) ON THE OTHER. I FILED THIS REPORT BECAUSE I SEE THAT MICHELIN HAS HAD A VERY SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH THEIR LTX M/S2 TIRE AND HAS OR IS CONDUCTING A VOLUNTARY RECALL. FORD F350SD CREW CAB W/ 6.7 DIESEL MOTOR...VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN WHEN SUDDENLY WARNING MESSAGE CAME ACROSS DASH THAT VEHICLE WAS "SHUTTING DOWN" AND TO PULLOVER VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY. WITHIN 10 SECONDS VEHICLE BEGAN DECELERATING AND CAME TO A COMPLETE SHUTDOWN. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER VEHICLE AS POWER STEERING AND EVERYTHING STOPPED WORKING. WITH WIFE IN A PANIC, SHE BARELY GOT THE TRUCK OFF THE HIGHWAY, BEFORE COMPLETE SHUTDOWN OF VEHICLE! CALLED LOCAL FORD DEALER, WHICH DID HAVE THE TRUCK TOWED IN TO DEALERSHIP, UNDER FORD WARRANTY. TRUCK WAS DIAGNOSED AS HAVING A "FAULTY" EGT EXHAUST SENSOR, GAVE ESTIMATE TO FIX OF AROUND $600.00. CLAIMS IT WAS NOT PART OF THE POWERTRAIN, SO NO WARRANTY COVERAGE OF THE COSTS OF REPAIR! TOTALLY FRUSTRATED WITH FORD FOR THIS INCIDENT AND LACK OF SUPPORT OR CONCERN FOR THIS FAILURE, I APPEALED TO THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT. AND BASICALLY GOT NOWHERE! NOW AS I HAVE DONE RESEARCH ON THIS ISSUE, I FIND OUT THAT FORD HAS A RECALL GENERATED #13V535000, ON THIS VERY SAME PRODUCT FAILURE, WITH THE EXACT SAME ISSUE AS OUR TRUCK'S FAILURE. HOWEVER, FORD ONLY ISSUED THE RECALL FOR F350,450, &550'S THAT WERE UTILIZED IN AMBULANCE CHASSIS. OUR TRUCK HAS A SAME BUILD DATE AS THE RECALL INDICATES AND EVERY EXACT SYMPTOM THAT THEY CITE IN THE RECALL LETTER AND FINDINGS, YET FORD REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE SAME PROBLEM COULD HAVE EXISTED IN THE NON AMBULANCE F350'S. I HAVE ONLY ASKED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS. FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF MY COSTS FOR THIS REPAIR, WHICH WAS COMPLETED ON 08/29/2013. THEY HAVE REFUSED TO ACCEPT MY CLAIM! WHEN I ORIGINALLY BOUGHT THE VEHICLE, SHORTLY THEREAFTER THE RIGHT REAR BRAKES HAD BEEN DRAGGING AND WHEN THE VEHICLE STOPPED, HEAVY SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE RIGHT SIDE REAR WHEEL.
