* Purchase Date: January 23, 2016 * Current Mileage: Approximately 71,500 miles For the past several months, my vehicle has experienced continuous engine oil loss. The oil level drops approximately one gallon every two months, and the engine oil warning light has illuminated on multiple occasions. B
... ecause of this recurring problem, I brought my vehicle to Volkswagen Glendale on April 23, 2026. After inspecting the vehicle at the Glendale dealership, I was informed that loose oil pan bolts were the cause of the oil loss. Based on this diagnosis, I took the vehicle to three different local auto repair shops for additional inspections. All three repair shops independently diagnosed the issue as being related to the engine and stated that if the engine is not replaced, the engine oil loss problem will not be resolved. I returned to Volkswagen Glendale on June 27, 2026. During this second visit, I was informed that the oil leak was coming from the oil pan area and that components including the oil pan, bolts, sealant, oil level sensor, and gaskets required repair. The technicians raised the vehicle and carefully inspected the entire underside. They reported that there was no visible engine oil leak and no evidence of oil escaping from the oil pan. I took the picture that there is no visible engine oil leak at the repair shop. I am deeply concerned that: * I am concerned about having to continuously add engine oil (1 gallon every two months) because the vehicle keeps losing oil. *I am concerned that the engine may seize due to low oil levels, which could cause the vehicle to break down while I am driving. Specifically, I request: Due to this engine problem and the ongoing engine oil loss issue, I respectfully request that the engine be replaced to resolve the problem and prevent potential safety risks. After reviewing the information above, could you please provide me with the claim number? I would appreciate your assistance. Thank you.Read more

[Symptom & Safety Hazard] While driving my 2020 GMC Acadia 3.6L V6, the Driver Information Center displayed the warning: "Steering Assist Reduced, Drive With Care" (SARDWC). Steering effort increased abruptly, the engine temperature gauge dropped to cold/zero, and the HVAC system lost air-conditioni
... ng function. The warning and reduction in steering assist presented a safety hazard and increased the risk of a crash. [Diagnostic Findings] Vehicle diagnostics identified DTC P0128 - Engine Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature. A GMC Certified Dealer technician diagnosed a failed engine coolant thermostat housing assembly. [Manufacturer Information] GM documentation links DTC P0128 and invalid engine coolant temperature signals to the "SARDWC" condition. GM Bulletin 17-NA-158 states the “SARDWC” condition is caused by an invalid coolant temperature signal and the steering module relies on coolant temperature information for steering-assist compensation. GM bulletin PIT5967 directs technicians to diagnose and repair DTC P0128 when the warning message is present. In Oct 2025, GM issued N252508350 for 2021 Acadia vehicles equipped with the 3.6L LGX engine due to an engine coolant thermostat condition. My 2020 Acadia is part of the same generation vehicle platform and is equipped with the same 3.6L LGX engine. It experienced the same thermostat-related failure symptoms, including DTC P0128 and the "SARDWC” warning. [Reason for Complaint] I am filing this complaint because a thermostat-related cooling-system failure resulted in a steering-assist warning and reduction in steering assist while the vehicle was being driven. Moreover, GM issued N252508350 for 2021 Acadia vehicles equipped with the 3.6L LGX engine due to the same engine coolant thermostat condition, yet similarly affected 2020 Acadia vehicles are not included. NHTSA should investigate whether additional 2020 vehicles are experiencing the same failure sequence and resulting safety risk.Read more

Oct 10, 2025, I received an OTA update on my Jeep Wrangler. After the installation, I left my child's school on the way to dinner. Maybe a half mile into the drive, I received numerous warnings on the display screen and quickly after that, the vehicle lost all power. Hybrid system unavailable as wel
... l as the gas motor. Power steering, brakes and stability control also gone. Was able to get to the side of the road but it nearly stranded me on an elevated 2 lane road over a dam near Cherry Creek Reservoir in Greenwood Village, CO. Was able to reset the system after some troubleshooting and limp the vehicle home. Made an appointment and took it in for service the following Tuesday. The dealer has tried to remedy the situation but ran into the same loss of power after another update. I do not trust this vehicle with the safety of my family in mind. Jeep/Stellantis has yet to notify it's customers of this potential safety hazard nor have they communicated/acknowledged it publicly to raise awareness. It could save lives and something needs to be done. There are hundreds if not thousands of impacted owners and some might not even know yet. Unacceptable for Jeep, Stellantis and quite frankly... the NHTSA.... for not taking the appropriate steps to prevent potential accidents. Your entire mission is safety and not a peep from any party.Read more

This is related to the repairs, not from an incident. Land Rover does not have a fix for the defective part, they are replacing with a new, yet old design part. Ok, but they are requiring the owners to pay for the parts and labor to replace until such a time that a newly designed part is available

Hi. I’d like to point out I have not had an incident YET thankfully. However, I want to highlight that the early M340i production releases (2019 and 2020) are HIGHLY likely to experience catastrophic engine failure due to an oil pump being made of plastic on some models. Of the 20 or so complaints
... listed under this vehicle on NHTSA, I’ve already seen PLENTY of complaints regarding this issue and people actually experiencing this issue. I believe if a car has a fair chance of causing catastrophic damage to its engine on its own, it poses as a safety risk for anyone in or around the car. The fix is to spend $6000-$7000 to have the oil pump replaced with the new 2021 oil pump, but most normal people cannot afford that easily and are driving around with plastic pumps still hoping for the best. I don’t understand how so many complaints of the same safety issue on this website for this vehicle (and other vehicles, which have the same B58 engine) have not resulted in a recall. Hopefully this can change because a car destroying itself shouldn’t be taken lightly and I’d like to second what everyone else on here is saying about the oil pump issue.Read more

I would like to bring your attention to an issue I recently had experienced concerning my 2018 Subaru Forester that I had purchased new in June of 2018, and to date has only 48,518 miles. A steering rattle sound/vibration had developed while driving at normal speeds on paved roadways. I made an app
... ointment with my local Subaru dealer to have the condition checked out. After a test drive and inspection by the technician, it was determined that both front transverse bushings needed to be replaced, and a wheel alignment performed following the repair. I have done some research and discovered that Subaru had changed the inferior material of the cushion portion of the front transverse bushing due to premature failure of the component (Reference: Subaru TSB 05-63-18R). It is negligent for Subaru not to inform the consumers knowing that a potential safety issue existed in the steering system of the vehicle. I believe the Subaru corporation should have initiated a recall of the effected vehicles and replace the defective components, at no cost to the consumer, in order to restore the safety and drivability of the vehicle.Read more

My Tesla still has the phantom braking problem. It is repeatable and consistent. I can tell when it will occur on a route that I drive regularly. Day or night does not seem to alter the occurrence. There is no indication on the touch screen when this occurs. Traffic volume does not matter. It always

I regard this as a dangerous problem on the freeway because my car suddenly slows and if the person behind me is not paying attention, I am going to be rear ended. Such a serious fault for a vehicle that performs so well otherwise. Since Tesla does not have a service center in my town no one has offered to look at the problem but since it has been reported so often, I'm not sure they would. We purchased our vehicle new September 2023 from a Toyota dealership. Engine oil dipstick Toyota part 15301-50140 was installed in vehicle and was verified by 50140 stamped on dipstick. I wanted an extra oil dipstick so ordered a replacement through Toyota. The original dipstick part 15301-50140
... is no longer available and has been superseded by Toyota part 15301-0P060. I ordered the new dipstick part number and received it from Toyota. It is verified by 0P060 stamped on the dipstick. The safety concern is the two dipsticks are not the same length and each one requires a different quantity of engine oil to reach the Full mark. The new dipstick -0P060 is 1/2 inch shorter than the old, no longer available dipstick -50140. Most importantly the Low and Full marks are also both 1/2 inch higher up or closer to dipstick handle on the new dipstick than the old one. It takes approximately 0.9 quart more of engine oil to reach Full on the new dipstick than on the old one. One of these dipsticks is correct for my vehicle and one is not. The original dipstick is no longer available and the new dipstick is not the same as the original. The difference of 0.9 quart more or less of oil in the engine is significant and important. Too much or too little oil can damage an engine or contribute to a shorter engine life. Both of these dipsticks cannot be correct for our vehicle. I have talked to the Service Managers at two Toyota Dealerships and they do not have an answer for why these dipsticks are different. I have spoken to Parts Department people at two additional Toyota Dealerships, called Toyota Motor North America and no one has any idea why these dipsticks are different or which one I should be using. I also wrote a letter to Toyota Motor NA Headquarters over two months ago and have received no response to date. I have both dipsticks available for inspection. Toyota needs to let owners know if they should replace their old dipsticks or not on these vehicles.Read more

Subject: Concerns Over NHTSA-Forced Changes to Tesla Model 3 Autopilot I am a Tesla Model 3 owner writing to express concerns about recent autopilot updates, seemingly implemented following NHTSA directives. These updates have significantly altered the system's operation, leading to potential safet
... y risks. Previously, the autopilot required minimal, intuitive steering interaction. However, the new update, presumably in response to NHTSA's safety requirements, demands frequent and forceful steering inputs. This has caused abrupt and frequent accidental autopilot disengagements, a stark contrast to my earlier, safer experiences. It is extremely dangerous when it is not clear to the driver that the system has been disengaged and the nags from the system frequently cause accidental disengagements that don't always get noticed by the driver who is more focused on paying attention to the road than the screen. The heightened sensitivity of the system is not only inconvenient but hazardous. The need for constant, sometimes aggressive adjustments is distracting and can result in unpredictable vehicle behavior. Ironically, a system designed for safety is now a source of danger and stress. In heavy traffic or on highways, the risk of sudden autopilot disengagement has increased, diverting my attention from driving conditions to maintaining system engagement. This is contrary to the autopilot's intended purpose. I urge the NHTSA to reevaluate these changes. It appears the effort to enhance driver engagement has compromised the autopilot's operational safety. Modifications are essential to prevent potential accidents and ensure the system aids in driving safety, rather than detracting from it. Thank you for your attention to this critical issue.
