2024 Toyota Tundra 4X4 SR5 CrewMax 6.5, VIN: [XXX] , 28,500 miles. Three distinct, worsening vibration issues affecting separate systems: 1 — Powertrain/Driveline: Significant vibration on initial acceleration, under tow load, and on inclines. Suspected driveshaft carrier bearing, U-joint, or engi
... ne main bearing failure. Recall 25V-767 (V35A engine bearing debris, 2022–2024 Tundra) — VIN recall status to be confirmed at [XXX] . Component available for inspection. 2 — Highway vibration 40–70 mph: Constant speed-dependent vibration in steering wheel, seat, and floor. Worsening and expanding in speed range over time. Impairs steering feedback — direct safety hazard at highway speed. Suspected wheel bearing or hub failure. No warning lamps present at any time. 3 — Braking: Violent vibration during heavy deceleration, downhill braking, and rapid stops. Severely impairs controlled stopping and risks loss of vehicle control. Consistent with rotor degradation per Toyota TSB (Nov. 2025, 2022–2026 Tundra). Repair history: OEM tires replaced at 20,000 miles — abnormal camber-induced outside shoulder wear. Toyota issued a Limited Service Campaign for this identical defect on 2022–2023 models but explicitly excluded 2024. All 4 tires replaced twice. Multiple alignments, balancings, and rotations performed at L&S Toyota, Beckley, WV (3+ dealer visits) and an independent tire chain (3+ visits). No resolution. Defect is mechanical, not tire-related. No DTCs or warning lights at any visit. Safety risk: Braking vibration risks loss of control on downgrades and emergency stops. Highway vibration impairs steering feedback over extended driving. Towing vibration creates trailer instability on public roads. Requesting NHTSA investigate and include 2024 Tundra in the existing Limited Service Campaign covering this known defect on prior model years. I was vacuuming out my car with my children. I was on the passenger side and had the second row seat folded down so I could vacuum behind it. I hit a button on the side of the seat. As I was bent over the seat vacuuming still I didn’t realize it was autocorrecting to the full upright position. It
... did not detect me there and before I knew it I was being sandwiched between the seat back and side of the car. Thankfully because I am an adult and taller I rose up on my tip toes quickly as I was screaming for my children to help. But I didn’t have enough time to get out completely. My head was pinched between the second row seat head rest and the side of the car. I was panicking to find the button as my daughter came running over to find a button to free myself. My ears were red and sore and the side of my head was sore for a while. I’m terrified to think that if that was one of my children as they were helping me vacuum that they would not have been able to raise up tall enough to keep from having severe head trauma or that if the seat had gone back just a little further how seriously injured I may have been. I was traumatized for several days. Understanding that a child died now is just heartbreaking and scares me even more!Read more

On November 27th the accelerator on my Rivian became stuck causing the car to accelerate quickly and preventing me from immediately stopping the car. There was a message stating that the regenerative braking system was not available and the accelerator pedal was stuck in the down position. When I pr
... essed on the brake there was a terrible grinding noise and smoke coming from the front tires. I quickly realized that bringing the Rivian to a full stop would likely cause the car to catch fire. Since the road was clear I had time to discuss a plan with my family and I told them to prepare to get out of the car quickly. I pressed hard on the brakes which caused them to grind and smoke. I put the car in park and we all exited the car quickly. Flames were visible from the front tire. The car is available for inspection. If there had been other vehicles on the road or any pedestrians this would have been a life threatening incident. Rivian is claiming that I must have been pressing on both the accelerator and the brake at the same time. We had 2 adults and 3 children in the car and the incident lasted long enough for us to discuss a plan to exit the car. There is no chance that my foot was on both the accelerator and the brake. Rivian has conducted an inspection but has denied that there is an issue. There has not yet been an independent inspection. The car has been in Rivian's service center since the day after the incident. The only warning sign appeared during the incident stating that regenerative braking was not available but this did not explain why the accelerator pedal was stuck.Read more

... itions: Dry, clear weather, good road conditions Description of Incident: While driving at approximately 45 MPH with the adaptive cruise control engaged, the traffic light ahead turned yellow. As I have done many times before in similar conditions, I applied the brakes firmly to slow and stop for the light. However, the vehicle did not slow down as normally expected. As the light turned red and cross traffic began entering the intersection, I pressed the brakes as hard as possible. The vehicle began to slow, and the tires felt like they were “hopping,” but the vehicle never came to a complete stop. Because I was now in the middle of the intersection with a red light and vehicles entering from other directions, I released the brake to avoid a collision. At that point, the vehicle lurched forward, and I realized the cruise control system was still engaged and was actively propelling the vehicle forward. A short time later, the cruise control system finally disengaged on its own. This malfunction nearly caused a serious accident. Under normal operation, pressing the brake pedal firmly at any speed should immediately disengage adaptive cruise control, but this did not occur. Dealer Response: Immediately after the incident, the vehicle was taken to the Mount Pleasant Jeep dealership, SC. The dealership’s technician connected a diagnostic code reader and stated there were no fault codes. They also checked for Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) and stated none existed for this issue. The technician told me there was nothing further they could do. The dealership did not perform a road test, did not escalate the issue to the manufacturer. BELOW IS THE LETTER I SENT TO STELLANTIS. I am writing to file an urgent and formal complaint regarding ongoing, severe safety and functionality issues with my Jeep 4xe , leased through Stellantis Financial. These issues have not only rendered the vehicle unreliable, but they have also endangered
... my life, the lives of my children, and the public-particularly as I work in an elementary school setting where safety is paramount. Most alarmingly, my Jeep 4xe recently reversed on its own at an accelerated speed without input, and would not stop until I prompted the brakes repeatedly. Had a child or pedestrian been behind the vehicle, the incident could've resulted in severe injury or death. As a parent and educator, this experience was traumatizing and has left me fearful of operating the vehicle in any public or residential space. Additionally, my vehicle frequently enters "turtle mode" (reduced power mode) without warning, significantly increasing my risk of being rear- ended in traffic. This unpredictability is unacceptable for any vehicle-especially one marked as a safe, family-friendly hybrid. These critical safety failures began shortly after the recall involving the vehicle's battery. Since then I've experienced: *Multiple simultaneous sensor malfunctions *Reduced driving speeds and performance *Inability to charge the vehicle on a professionally installed Level 2 charger *Recurring shop visits without permanent resolution While earlier issues were inconvenient, they pale in comparison to the dangerous and erratic behavior of the vehicle now. Despite repeated attempts by service technicians to address these problems, each "fix" is followed by a new or recurring issue. This pattern shows that the vehicle is fundamentally flawed and no longer safe to operate.Read more
