While towing a rented trailer from Tractor Supply, the trailer detached because it was not properly secured by store staff. The trailer struck the rear bumper of my 2021 Ford Expedition, causing visible body damage and raising concerns about hidden damage to the drivetrain and transmission due to th
... e sudden force of the impact. After the incident, the vehicle was taken to a Ford dealership for inspection. Documentation exists showing that additional drivetrain and transmission evaluation is needed to determine the full extent of damage. The rear-view camera is also under active NHTSA recall (25V048), and its poor image quality complicates safe reversing after the incident. The safety risk is significant: the trailer detachment created a roadway hazard and impact, while the rear camera defect reduces visibility and increases crash risk when backing. The vehicle has been inspected by a Ford dealership and is being reviewed under an insurance claim with Tractor Supply’s insurer. Full documentation of the service visit and inspection is available upon request.Read more

In mid-2024, the vehicle experienced a flashing check engine light. I brought it to Murfreesboro Hyundai (TN), where they confirmed the oil was low and started an oil consumption test. A bearing clearance test (BCT) was also performed and passed. After back-and-forth over several weeks, I was told t
... he oil consumption was within spec, but the dealership stated Hyundai would cover all necessary repairs, including a combustion chamber cleaning, under warranty. I was told this work was completed and the vehicle was returned to me. In July 2025, the exact same flashing CEL returned. I brought the car back to the same dealership, where they again found the oil was 2.5 quarts low. However, this time they claimed no previous combustion cleaning or repairs had been done, and that I would now need to pay over $1,100 out of pocket for the same cleaning that was supposedly already performed — and which they had told me would be covered under warranty. This indicates that the dealership misrepresented completed service work, failed to address a recurring defect, and is now trying to shift the financial burden to me. Hyundai’s claim that oil consumption is not “high enough” to warrant coverage is concerning, especially when the condition continues to damage the engine and cause driveability issues. This appears to be part of a broader known defect affecting Hyundai 2.0L engines. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate Hyundai’s handling of oil consumption, engine misfire, and warranty practices related to the 2018 Elantra GT and similar models.Read more

I’m unsure of how long the previous owner dealt with this issue. Factory resets prescribed by the dealer do not resolve this issue. This appears to be a widespread issue based on the numerous reports found on user forums online, affecting the same model year vehicles (for multiple examples, refer to [XXX] ). It is also interesting that most of the users experiencing this issue, also report it starting around the same time (Jan/Feb 2025), and they all have similar software versions, and likely production dates. This should be considered a safety issue, as the reboots can happen in the middle of a reverse parking maneuver, and they render the backup camera and obstacle detection sensors completely inoperative until the system reloads. I am reporting ongoing, unresolved, and potentially dangerous issues with my [Year] Jeep [Model, Trim], related to the ECU, electrical system, and overall drivability. I just picked up the vehicle yesterday after it spent 31 days in service, during which the dealership pulled over 65 different code

The car has stalled while driving, creating an extremely unsafe situation. On several occasions, it refuses to start. At one point, the vehicle was stuck in drive for over 27 hours, making it unusable and unmovable. These issues are recurring and unpredictable, making the vehicle a clear safety hazard. I’ve contacted Jeep Customer Care repeatedly. My assigned case manager refuses to respond, and they will not assign me a new one. I’ve escalated requests to management multiple times and have been completely ignored. I am unable to get any assistance despite the seriousness of the issue. This vehicle is unsafe, unreliable, and I am left without a functional mode of transportation. I’m filing this complaint with the hope that it prompts further investigation into these vehicle failures and Jeep/Stellantis’ refusal to properly address them.Read more

There is a permanent fault on the front camera of the vehicle, making it unavailable. This has permanently disabled the vehicle's pre-collision safety feature. The adaptive/normal cruise control is also unavailable because of this. Prior to the permanent issue, the fault would occur randomly and wit
... hout warning, creating an extremely hazardous condition, especially while utilizing the vehicle's "one-pedal" feature. Under this condition (using adaptive/normal cruise control and the one-pedal function), the fault would occur abruptly and without warning, cruise control would fail and the vehicle would brake simultaneously, without driver action. Several times, while driving on the highway, this happened to me. I was fortunate enough to not get in an accident. The dealerships have been unwilling to address my safety concerns. Please see to it that this is resolved. I have seen many consumer forums with this same issue.Read more

The control screen with speedometer, all the advanced driving systems has blanked twice. The car still drives fine, but I couldn’t tell how fast I was going or access any of the advanced driving features or warnings using a camera. I wasn’t even sure if my turn signal was going until I got out
... and checked. All the online forums advise to turn off and lock car for 30 minutes and restart, which has worked, but the first time it happened I was driving downtown and couldn’t tell whether any of my external signals were working. The second time (several weeks later) driving carpool. Get out and wait 30 minutes is not feasible. Because they were spaced rather far apart, I don’t feel like it’s a single software update issue.Read more

Car with 37540 miles check engine light came on, per the dealership the Evap purge valve and the fuel line needs to be replaced. It looks like there is an open recall “ Emissions Recall Code: 20CQ” for the same car but for some reason it excludes my car.
Incident date: Jul 22, 2024
On June 9, 2024, while I was driving on the highway, my new Accord flashed a series of warning messages on the right side of the driver information interface (instrument panel). The messages that flashed and scrolled through repeatedly are listed below: Electric parking brake system problem.
... Parking brake not available. See your dealer. Blind spot information system problem. See your dealer. Hill start assist problem. Vehicle may roll upon brake release. See your dealer. Transmission system problem. Performance may be reduced. See your dealer. Emission system problem. Power may be reduced. See your dealer. Additionally, near the fuel gauge a red BRAKE light flashed and an amber BRAKE SYSTEM stayed illuminated. This is upsetting because I've had my new Honda Accord just over one month and have fewer than 1500 miles on it. UPDATE: I took my new Honda Accord Touring to my dealer and they examined it and told me a solenoid needed replacement. They ordered the part which took several day and replaced it. The solenoid replacement did not fix the problem and the service manager said my car needed a new transmission (eCVT). I was shocked such a new car would require such a radical repair. After waiting two weeks, my transmission was replaced. However, I'm not confident in my car. I read on NHTSA that 2023 Accord Hybrid had a recall for eCVT transmission replacement. My Accord Hybrid Touring is a 2024 manufactured in 3/2024.Read more

DRIVER SIDE FRONT SEAT OVERHEATS
THIS INVESTIGATION CONCERNS THE ELECTRIC SEAT HEATER INSTALLED IN SOME MY 2002-2003 VOLKSWAGEN (VW) JETTA VEHICLES.CONSUMERS ALLEGE THAT THE SEAT HEATER MAY OVERHEAT, RESULTING IN BURN DAMAGE TO THE SEAT COVER AND TO THE DRIVER'S CLOTHING AND/OR SKIN.THIS EA ADDRESSES WHETHER SUCH FAILURES MAY POSE
