The vehicle automatically and suddenly slammed on the brakes when a deflated mylar balloon floated across my lane. It braked hard for several seconds then released the brakes as the balloon cleared my lane. I felt like I had no control of the vehicle until the brakes released. The car following closely behind me could have hit me, since there was no apparent reason to brake. I have been unable to reach a service advisor at my dealership to report it. The vehicle has not been inspected since this incident. There were no warnings prior to the incident.

2022 Honda CRV with 12500 miles on the odometer has Rack and Pinion problems. Dealer indicates internal wear. There is a recall # 24V-744 which may apply. Dealer vehicle service was prepared on March 23, 2026
My steering wheel feel "sticky" and "popping" when turning it. It does this sitting still and while driving around curves/turns and also driving straight. The steering used to be smooth in my 2022 CRV Honda and now everytime it does this weird sticky and popping move and sound. Please help me as this is a safety hazard concern . I bought my car "new" at South Pointe Honda dealership in Tulsa, Oklahoma and I always take it to the dealership for maintenance. I have 2 more Honda cars (different year models) and I have never had this problem before. I have seen there is a recall for this issue on the 2023 CRV models, and I request this recall includes the 2022 CRV models as well. I appreciate in advance your help and prompt attention to this matter.
Steering is sticky (resistant as though in a notch) when turning the steering wheel to the right or left beyond 30 degrees at highway speeds, or beyond 90 degrees at parking speeds. Issue seems more prevalent when turning left than right. Lane keep assist is off at all times. The steering system issue is a safety concern, as loss of control at highway speeds could cause a crash. Diagnostic by local Honda service center would cost ~$199. Was told by service consultant that a steering system repair (if necessary) would not be covered by warranty. Have not taken to non-Honda service center for inspection, estimate, or repair yet. There are no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem. As the vehicle is driven during a trip, the problem becomes worse.
Steering has seemed sticky since I bought car in July. On Jan. 30 after a 20 min drive on a freeway I entered a long sweeping right turn curve. During the turn the steering when jerked 3 times to the left. If there had been a car next to me, this would have caused a serious accident. Research shows this exact problem was under recall for the 2023-2024 Honda CRV's. Cause faulty EPS gear. Beaverton Honda was unable to replicate and denied our claim to replace. There were no warning lights. We believe this is the exact issue presented in the 2023-2024 recall- USDT investigation EA23003 and issues with 2022 Honda CRV should be included in the recall.
Experiencing reoccurring “sticky steering” when making left hands turns at highway speeds (as when taking off ramps). When the steering wheel is turned it will notch or stick at a certain point in its travel and not freely return to center. You have to apply a small amount of force to free it from the stuck position. If the wheel was to lock up when driving at high speed it could cause a significant safety issue. I have contacted Honda about the issue and I’m awaiting their response. I am aware there is a recall for 2023-25 CR-Vs for the same sticky steering issue. The problem I’m experiencing has not been inspected by anyone yet. No warning lamps or other symptoms were present prior or during the steering malfunction.
When speeding up to highway speeds, the check engine light will start flashing and car will going into limp mode and lose power. Turning the car off and then back on fixes the problem, but it also removes any check engine codes. This has occurred 3x in the last month, unable to determine when or why it is occurring.
The car stalled all dash board lights came on I was stuck on the road for hours before I got help
The contact owns a 2022 Honda CR-V equipped with Continental Tires, Tire Line: Cross Contact, Tire Size: 235/55/R19, DOT Number: HWE7WC8K1722. The contact stated that there was a round dot on the front passenger’s side tire. Upon closer inspection, the tire displayed a crack and a large groove along the sidewall, and the sidewall lettering was missing. The other three tires were manufactured by Continental but were a different tire line and showed no visible damage. The vehicle was taken to a tire center for inspection, where it was determined that the bead was broken and that the tire had been driven while flat. The vehicle was then taken to a local dealer, who informed the contact that two of the tires needed to be replaced. The tires were not replaced. The dealer confirmed that there was no warranty or recall coverage available for the failure. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 17,463.

Battery went dead when car was less than 4 years old!
I had driven may a mile and was turning right onto a street. As soon as I turned onto the street my car just stopped and would not move. I had no power -- I put my gas pedal all the way down and it would only inch along. I was so scared that I would get rear ended. I immediately put on my flashers and prayed no one would hit me. I finally inched my way into the grass. I kept trying to get power to my car but it would not get any power. I sat there for about a half hour and kept trying. I finally got enough power to be able to turn around and get back home. The next morning I went to start my car and it was a very very rough start to get it started. I decided then to take it to the Honda dealer. On my way to the Honda dealer, my car did the "lose power" again. I had to sit there for about 15 minutes before I finally had enough power. I "inched" my way to the dealer. They called and said it was the fuel injectors and that they needed to be replaced. My car is a 2022 with 56,000 miles on it. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN with that low of mileage. Honda has said this was not a covered repair even though I had no power to my vehicle. I did research and have found that there is a definite issue with the 2022 Honda CRV fuel injectors but they only have covered certain VIN numbers. My VIN number is not in that replacement -- which I don't understand. This should be a recall on ALL Honda 2022 CRV's. This is a very expensive repair and I feel Honda should cover the replacement of these fuel injectors.
We purchased this vehicle as a Honda Certified Pre-Owned vehicle. I have included a copy of the 182-Point Inspection Checklist that I received when I/we purchased the vehicle. The issue is the weatherstripping on both sides of the middle row. The material does not fit the area and causes wind and weather to effect the interior of the vehivcle. We feel that this issue is a manufacturer defect and should have been detected/rectified during that 182-Point Inspection. My wife and myself are the only user of the vehicle and we never have a reason to sit in the middle row. Per chance, our daughter's dog was in the middle row and when I turned to check on him, I noticed that weatherstripping issue. Upon reaching home, I further noticed that the issue existed on both the passenger and driver side - middle row doors. I also found a Technical Information & Support Group bulletin addressed to "All Honda Service Managers/Advisors", "RE: Request for Parts: 2023-2024 Accord & CR-V Rear Door Weatherstrip". I realize this bulletin does not address my year vehicle but wanted to bring to light that this seems to be an issue that is prevalent on the CR-V. We notified the dealer who inspected and confirmed that the issue exists but were told that because the care is not longer under original warranty, the repair would cost us $600+. We have since notified American Honda USA under the extended warranty we purchased and feel that they are dragging their feet on this issue. I received a call from American Honda USA and agreed to a settlement to have the issue resolved at the dealer where we bought the vehicle for a total out-of-pocket to me of $200 + taxes. I was supposed to get a call from the dealer to schedule the repair but nothing. I contacted Honda America once again and am being told it is being looked into.
Day after bought car, battery dead and all lights lit up on the dash when tried to start. Dealership gave a 256 point inspection and said car passed all elements. Jumped battery with a jump pack then battery started smoking and leaking fluid. Had dealership tow and diagnose problem, replaced the battery. Two days later started car on a cold day and check engine light started flashing and car went into limp mode. Would not accelerate on the highway past 35 mph during heavy traffic leading to unsafe conditions. Drove to service center at the dealership while still flashing and not accelerating. Dealership said it was a cylinder misfire.

All warning notices started going off & continuously cycling through all warnings possible for everything. Vehicle suddenly lost propulsion. I was on local roadways without heavy traffic or high speeds but had this occurred on a freeway it could have caused a serious threat of injury or death to myself & other vehicles behind me (could cause multi vehicle crash). This has happened 4 times. This last incident is unresolved. The 1st time at 33,069 miles the dealership indicated vehicle had code P0303 cylinder #3 misfire, cylinder A/F test cylinder #1& #2 failed. Oil on dipstick had strong fuel smell. Replaced fouled spark plugs, oil & filter change. Incident #2 at 33,206 miles had cylinder #3 misfire code, cylinder #2 failed cylinder A/F test. Replaced all fuel injectors with new parts kit including gaskets, fuel tubes etc Incident#3 at 33,699 miles. Cylinder #3 code P0303. Swapped #1 & #3 coil packs and connected HDS laptop, watched Cylinder #3 have misfire counts, removed #3 coil & spark plug, installed pressure tester & inserted boroscope into #3 cylinder & watched coolant run down cylinder wall. Cylinder #3 head out of specification for straightness. Spec is 0.003 & head flatness measured 0.0032. Replaced cylinder head & all related gaskets, o-rings, bolts etc. Incident #4 dealership notified, vehicle needs to be towed to shop therefore no resolution at this time. Information I (owner) found online indicates 1.5L turbo engine design flaw leading to chronic & repeated gasket/cylinder failure issues for vehicles with this engine. Replacement with OEM parts will not resolve. [XXX] Several class-action lawsuits have been filed in the United states & Canada related to this engine/issue. The vehicle can be inspected & will share service repair records. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, I took my 2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid to the dealership for a routine oil change. The service team told me that all systems showed the vehicle was in good condition. They advised me to return for my next oil change and regular maintenance. I did not drive anywhere on Thursday, November 27, which was Thanksgiving Day. On Friday, November 28, while driving to work on the highway, the engine warning light turned on and my car began to slow down. Pressing the accelerator did not help—the vehicle would not speed up and lost power while I was driving on the highway. This was a very stressful and unsafe situation. I had to pull over onto the shoulder with a line of cars behind me. My car was towed to the dealership. The dealership said they could not find anything wrong with it. However, I experienced a clear and serious problem. Not only did I miss work, but I also had to pay $238.95 for the towing service. After researching, I found there was a recall issued on December 18, 2023, for a fuel pump failure that can cause the engine to stall while driving, which increases the risk of a crash. However, this recall did not include the 2022 model year, which is the year of my vehicle. The recall describes exactly what happened to me. Honda should include the 2022 CR-V Hybrid in the recall and therefore; replace the fuel pump module at no cost to help ensure everyone’s safety.

The most urgent issue with my vehicle is the automatic braking system. During several instances driving during the day and at night, my car has done what’s referred to as “phantom braking” where it detects something in the road, though the road is completely clear and open and the brakes engage and suddenly stop my car. It’s happened on occasions where it triggers the brakes lightly and it’s happened so intensely that my seat buckle has locked up throwing my head forward and my car comes to a near stop on the FREEWAY. It happens on regular roads as well, but the freeway is especially dangerous especially traveling at a higher rate of speed for the breaks to be engaged and rapidly slow my car down. I have been so fortunate that the times it has happened the people behind me had enough reaction time or there was no one behind me. This has happened on numerous occasions and for almost every incident it occurred I’ve had a witness (my parter at the time) they saw how jarring, intense and dangerous the braking was and how it happened out of nowhere. I brought this up to my dealership but they kept shooing me away saying that it’s not a problem and if I wanted to I could turn the automatic braking system off every single time I start my car (because that resets once your car is off and will be active the next time it’s in use) after an extreme incident on the freeway that almost got me into an accident (with a witness) I brought it to them again to which they told me my warranty was up and if I wanted to “check it out” for problems I would need to pay out of pocket and again recommended that I turn it off every time I start my vehicle. They said they wanted to see the problem themselves but it does not happen every drive. You have no idea when it is going to happen so it’s impossible to test with the intention of seeing for yourself. It’s completely random. I’ve also had electrical issues but the brake system is my priority.

Reoccurring steering issue- After having the steering wheel rac & gear box replaced in April 2024 on my 2022 CRV (purchased brand new), the issue is reoccurring in Nov. 2025. . My 2022 CRV steering wheel sticks when driving on the interstate and doesn’t want to turn and is difficult to steer causing me to have to jerk the wheel and nearly wreck my car. The steering wheel also feels loose and spins around and round while at a stop. The steering wheel knocks/pops during a hard turns. Since this a wide spread issue well documented online, I would expect for there to be a recall - but there is not one on my 2022 CRV even though I have experienced the issue twice now. The dealership and Honda Corp is agreeing to pay a large portion of the $3000+ bill but I am still stuck paying nearly $200 for a defect that should be covered fully due to obvious manufacturing defects in the part. The car is 3 years old and has had the steering wheel rac replaced twice! Ridiculous!!!
While driving on the interstate at 60+ speeds, my steering wheel sticks and has locked up causing me to jerk the wheel so hard that I went into another lane and almost wrecked. Initially the issue happened when the car had 31k miles on it and was repaired by Honda under warranty. Now, at 51k the same steering issue is happening again and they are charging me to fix it. The first part replacement only last one year and 5 months. There is a well known issue with Honda CRV steering - why isn’t my 2022 CRV included in the recall? The steering wheel also feels like it becomes detached and loose when steering in a parking lot and knocks/pops with hard turns. The drivers side seatbelt doesn’t roll back up when disconnected causing it to stay loose and fall in the door way which has caused several large dents in my car due to the seatbelt falling in the door way as I close the door.

The contact owns a 2022 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked in the parking lot of a strip mall, the contact entered a store and was in the store for approximately five minutes, and a person entered the store yelling and asking if anyone in the store owned a red Honda CR-V parked outside, because the vehicle had rolled away and crashed into a light pole. The contact looked outside and noticed that her vehicle had rolled away and crashed into the light pole on the sidewalk where the vehicle came to a stop. There was no one was inside the vehicle during the failure and no other vehicles were damaged. 10/8/2025 The steering wheel was sticking.Honda mechanic said it was the left drive shaft. They ordered part and said would be a 2 hour repair. 10/16/2025 Took vehicle back into shop for repair at 10:30 a,m. Vehicle not ready until 5:15p.m. We drove out and steering wheel still sticking. Went back manager drove it and said might be some part that needs greasing but he would check with the Honda corporation. and get back to us. 10/23/2025 Service advisor called us and said it was the power steering rack.Repair bill would be $4400.00. 10/27/2025 We talked to service advisor to see who manager talked to regarding this repair. Service advisor said manager would call us on 10/28/2025. We did not receive a call and did not receive a call on 10/20/2025. 10/30/2025 We filed a complaint with Honda corporation. our vehicle is available for inspection. What we have read about this kind of recall is that steering wheel could permanently stick possibly causing an accident. The fact the manager said it was the power steering rack has not been confirmed . Some Hondas have been recalled for the power steering rack. Vehicle has not been inspected by any dealer or mechanic. This sticking issue started about 9/1/2025..There were no warning lamps or messages.

When driving, there is a popping noise and the steering wheel is very sticky. Not all the time and more noticeable at lower speeds. Sometimes I have to slightly jerk the wheel to get it to respond. This does not seem safe. I took it to my local Honda dealer who said I needed a steering rack replacement and that I should contact Honda Corp. because that shouldn't happen in a 2022 CRV. There is a similar recall for other year models but not the 2022. Honda agreed to only pay a small portion (less than 25%) of the cost but the rest is on me. Issue began couple weeks after my 3 year warranty was up.
My wife reported that as she was making a right turn, driving home in the rain, the radio screen slowly faded to black and then the dashboard went black as well. There was a loss of power but the car did not turn off. The vehicle is a hybrid and it appears that the car was running using the battery as after a short distance the radio screen and dashboard both came on. She does not know if the check engine came on. This is the first time this has happened. If it happens again then I will take the car to the dealership and have it checked out. I am reporting this as it seems that others have had similar issues but so far a common cause has not been found.

While driving at a normal speed (55mph) on I-5 north in Bellingham, WA when the sunroof on my Honda CR-V imploded. It sounded like a very loud gunshot. The shock of the incident startled my passenger and I and I immediately began looking her over to see if there was any blood. I looked up and saw very small shards of glass falling through the sunroof and a large hole. It was fortunate those shards did not cause damage. I immediately closed the sunroof and exited the highway. There were no rocks in the car, very little glass entered the car and a large hole was in the sunroof. The dealer did not believe it was due to a glass defect, he felt that something large had hit the car. This was not possible- we were on a clear highway and there was no sign of anything in the car or on the sunroof that would explaijn the damage. I do not want other people to have this experience- it is frightening and could lead to accidents.
On three separate occasions my automatic brakes designed to avoid a collision have engaged while I was driving highway speed with no vehicle or obstruction I'm front of my car.
The above would not let me check ALL of the boxes. I’m having continued problems with my 2022 Honda CRV Hybrid Touring, with every warning light on the car all of a sudden starts flashing and eventually the car looses complete power. This is the third time it has happened to me, and after taking it to two different Honda dealerships, no one can tell me what is going on, and then they send me back out on the road, only for it to happen again. Every warning light on the car lights up and every bell goes off. Yet, no one can tell me a thing! It’s resulted in me being stranded and the car inoperable.

While driving on a straight road at 35 mph the car suddenly and aggressively applied the brakes without driver input and without another car or obstacle in front of the car. Had there been a car behind me a rear collision would have been likely. The weather was sunny and there were deep shadows of trees cast on the road. This is the fourth time this has happened the past year. This is my first report to NHTSA.
Driving in mild foggy conditions, going 44 mph. My CRV dash had the BRAKE warning flashing and locked up my brakes. There was nothing in front of me do cause this. There was a car behind me that could of hit me. Everything in my car flew off the seats and it jarred my neck and back. My lowered back has been hurting and I am seriously concerned for my safety in this vehcle.
