IF THE BOLT IS LOOSE, THE GAS STRUT IS OVER-PRESSURIZED, AND THE FREQUENCY OF OPENING AND CLOSING CYCLES IS HIGHER THAN FOR THE AVERAGE CUSTOMER, THE BOLT CAN FAIL.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT FOR LOOSE FASTENERS, IF THE FASTENERS ARE LOOSE, THE STRUT (AND INTEGRAL BOLTS) WILL BE REPLACED. TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE ON A TRIP, THIS WAS THE THIRD TRANSMISSION TO FAIL, THE PREVIOUS TRANSMISSION HAD BEEN REPLACED AT 145038 MILES AND THIS ONE HAD BEEN REPLACED AT 163896 MILES, ONLY 18858 MILES HAD BEEN DRIVEN BEFORE IT FAILED, CONSUMER FEELS SHE SHOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR ALL THE COSTS AND DURESS CAUSED BY THE DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSIONS. *SLC
