SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC Mar 24, 2026
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while reversing, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to stop as intended. The contact stated that the brake pedal was difficult to depress. The vehicle eventually stopped. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was persistent. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with brake vacuum assist pump failure. The contact was informed that the brake vacuum assist pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V645000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The dealer was made aware of the failure, and the contact was informed that the recall was closed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.
ENGINE Mar 20, 2026
Had to have motor replaced due to faulty lifters which in turn damaged the motor. No, I didn’t check with dealers, independent service centers. However, it was inspected by an independent individual who handles these type of issues on Tahoes, Suburbans, etc. Lifter issues happened in November of 2025. My vehicle is still in the shop at this writing having a new motor installed. I have never been notified of any recall for this type of issue for my particular vehicle which seems to be a common issue. Also had issues with sensors and a/c.
FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Mar 19, 2026
The failure is believed to have originated in the fuel delivery system, specifically the check valve in the low-pressure fuel feed jumper line at the engine. This valve failed to seat properly, allowing high-pressure pulses to travel back into the low-pressure side of the system. This malfunction caused the S-shaped portion of the fuel feed line near the tank to vibrate excessively against its mounting clip. This constant friction wore through the line, resulting in an active fuel leak. All damaged components remain on the vehicle and are available for inspection upon request. The safety of the driver, passengers, and the public is at immediate risk due to a severe fire hazard. Because the leak is located near the fuel tank and undercarriage, gasoline is being released where it could be ignited by road sparks, static electricity, or exhaust heat. A fuel leak of this nature threatens a catastrophic fire that could result in vehicle loss or personal injury. The problem has been confirmed via a physical inspection that matches the symptoms documented in a GM Service Bulletin (Recall - High Pressure Fuel Pump Leakage). While the vehicle has not yet been subjected to a formal tear-down by a dealer due to the danger of driving it with a leak, the visual evidence at the exact location specified in manufacturer documentation confirms the failure. To date, the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. Prior to the leak, the primary symptoms were an audible rattling and ticking noise from the engine bay and underside, characteristic of the pressure pulses described in the TSB. There were no warning lamps or dashboard messages, as the mechanical wear on the exterior of the fuel line occurred outside the scope of the vehicle’s onboard diagnostic sensors.

The vehicle was later towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with brake booster failure. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V645000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the warranty had expired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 135,436.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Dec 26, 2025
Vehicle cranked longer than usual, noticed slight smell of fuel. After arriving home noticed fuel smell was very strong and a puddle of raw fuel under vehicle. Fuel line appears to have rubbed/vibrated against the frame of the vehicle causing the line to rupture. Date of incident 12-26-2025. No MIL or warning messages were present. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone other than myself for this incident. I feel this issue could have resulted in serious injury or death of my entire family and possibly others on the road. The vehicle has not been modified in anyway and is in OEM configuration. We will have to have the vehicle repaired but will document as best we can. I would like to add that after a quick internet search I found this to be a common issue so I was amazed there was no recall on our Tahoe. Thank you.

I took it to Riverside Chevrolet to get a diagnostic on it because my steering wheel is locked all the lights on the dashboard are on in the vehicle is not drivable almost a month and a half of Riverside Chevrolet and they could not get a diagnostic on it. Apparently the technicians there were not able to figure out what’s wrong with it. The vehicle is not drivable and it is a safety hazard

The 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe seems to be known for thermostat failure. My thermostat gauge while driving would drop from 210 to 160 and stay pinned on 160 and the fans would turn on. I was told by an auto body shop that it seemed to be electric issues. I also had a wire under the car catch fire and the auto body shop said that is why my standing lights would not work in the rear but my brake lights would work. It’s very dangerous that the electrical failure caused a fire to start under the car. Then, I ran into another issue just this week where the vehicle has a cracked AC condenser and is slowly losing coolant. It’s a manufacturing issue because all of them seem to crack and we’re not made with a proper seal. Another electrical issue I have is when I turn the wheel all the way to the left or right, even when the key is in and engine is on, the engine will shut off. The car completely shuts off and then I have to turn the key to the off position and then it will turn right back on. The steering wheel is also losing power steering and gets very tight when I have to make a turn. The fuses for my radio are blown and when you put new ones in, it blows immediately and doesn’t turn on. I have MANY issues with this vehicle and it’s obviously a manufacturer issue. This is not ok for a vehicle to all around have such horrible electrical issues. I have had issues driving over a pothole and I lose my radio screen or my whole dash screen and then the dealer and auto body shops say the electrical work is too in depth for them.

I have a 2015 Chevy Tahoe LTZ I bought used 10/12/2024 with 100,000 miles on it. I purchased it from a family member that took great care of it. Always garaged and kept up with all the maintenance's regularly. In March of 2025, we noticed how uncomfortable and terribly bumpy it was riding. I looked it up and discovered that many people with this "Magnetic Ride Control" installed on many other vehicles had to replace them. I thought for sure this would have a recall. And to my disappointment, it was not a recall. I had to pay over $3000 dollars to repair this, which I don't have. Can you please look into this and make the manufacture or someone accountable for such a terrible design. Thank you bumpy it was riding. It has been taken to the dealership multiple times and they are reporting transmission and catalytic converter issues, however these issues were present at 20,000 miles and taken back to the dealership to be fixed. This is now a reoccurrence of issue and the dealership refused to warranty or fix the reoccurring issue. Loss of power while driving and random acceleration have occurred and almost caused accidents on multiple occasions

There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where the transmission was replaced. The contact stated that after retrieving the vehicle from the dealer while driving 10-15 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed but was significantly firm and failed to respond. The contact drove into a curb and struck a parking sign pole. The air bags did not deploy. The contact stated that the failure exacerbated pre-existing injuries. The dealer was contacted and advised the contact to restart the vehicle and depress the brake pedal to verify whether the brake pedal was operable. The contact followed the dealer's instructions, and the brake pedal responded as needed; however, the vehicle was towed to the residence because the contact was concerned about driving the vehicle. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the vacuum pump needed to be replaced. The dealer replaced the vacuum pump; however, the failure recurred while driving. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the lifters had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Midway Chevrolet Plainwell Auto Dealer (381 12th St, Plainwell, MI 49080), where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump wires, the transfer case oil and seal, the engine oil coolant hose, the valve cover gasket, and other unknown parts needed to be replaced. Additionally, the dealer determined that the ball joints needed to be replaced, and an alignment needed to be performed. The dealer also determined that the air ride compressor was noisy. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then taken to a third dealer, Heritage Chevrolet, Inc. (350 W Dickman Rd, Battle Creek, MI 49037), where it was diagnosed with an oil leak.
