2024 Kia EV6 leased January 2025. Vehicle is subject to NHTSA Recall 24V-867 / Kia campaign SC327 for the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU). The recall remedy was performed at an authorized Kia dealer in July 2025 (software / operational logic update). The defect was not cured. Three months af
... ter the recall remedy was performed, the vehicle suffered complete loss of electrical power and would not move. It was towed to the Kia dealer. The dealer's own diagnostic recorded code P1A9096 — the exact diagnostic code Kia's recall instructs technicians to check for — and replaced the ICCU and high-voltage fuse. This is the recall-defined failure occurring AFTER the recall remedy was applied. Approximately three months later, the vehicle again suffered total loss of power and would not start in cold weather. It was towed in. The dealer replaced only the 12-volt battery and did not address the ICCU, despite the documented prior ICCU failure on this VIN. The 12V battery failure is a known downstream symptom of ICCU failure on this platform. Approximately one month after that, the vehicle returned for charging system failure ("vehicle charges briefly then stops") and a "check electrical/hybrid system" warning that appeared while driving. Diagnosed as charging port failure. Vehicle was out of service approximately 27 consecutive days. Total cumulative days out of service across four visits: approximately 35-40. Two safety-related stranding incidents resulted from these failures. Both occurred in winter conditions in Pennsylvania. In the first, the driver was stranded in a parking lot at night during a snowstorm in sub-zero conditions; three tow trucks were dispatched before a flatbed could recover the vehicle because the EV could not be towed conventionally with no power. In the second, the vehicle died in a school parking lot during a snowstorm; the first dispatched tow truck could not recover an EV with no power, and the driver had to walk multiple miles home in freezingRead more

The contact discovered that the power steering wiring and electrical plug wiring were burned and melted. The contact purchased a new rack and pinion, but had become aware that the rack and pinion replacement would not repair the vehicle due to the burned electrical wiring. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V167000 (Steering); however, the VIN was not included. The dealer and the manufacturer were not contacted. I was driving when an "Electrical Fault Detected" warning came on. The car's instructions were to pull over as soon as possible, as the car's electrical system was draining the battery and the car could shut down within a few miles. We had the car towed to a repair shop where they ran tests on the c
... ar and replaced the battery. This did not fix the issue, and they came back a day later to find the brand new battery had drained. I then had it towed to another repair shop who replaced the alternator but that didn't solve the problem so they had it towed to the dealer. The dealer discovered that the DC converter in the car is bad, but said they have 5 cars in the shop with the exact same problem and the part is backordered without an ETA. I frequently drive late at night or early in the morning between a small town and a city for work. It's 100 miles each way, most of which is either in mountains with poor cell service or an interstate with a speed limit of 80 MpH. During this time of year, the temperatures in this area are often well below freezing. Had this issue happened on one of these drives, I could have very well been stranded with only a few minutes of warning with a high risk of hypothermia or even death. Had it happened on the interstate, the car would have lost complete power, including the steering, endangering not only my life, but my family and anyone else driving nearby. Land Rover has acknowledged in their notifications to dealer service departments that this is a known issue, but they have not issued a recall. I strongly believe this is a HUGE safety risk and that Land Rover should be held accountable for correcting this issue in all affected cars. They are endangering the lives of their customers and anyone who is on the road near Land Rover vehicles. NOTE: The doc provided in this submission is for an alternator change out that was done because of this electrical issue. The DC converter, which is where the true issue is, will be thousands as well.Read more

As I was driving my vehicle to my residence, the car lost all power. The engine remained ‘on’, and the engine revved if I pushed the gas pedal, but there was zero acceleration. Fortunately I was able to maneuver/coast to a side street and stop my vehicle safely. I also felt fortunate that no car
... was following closely behind me which could have created a potential rear-end collision threat. I had very little warning that anything was wrong with the car. Approximately 20 minutes prior to the vehicle losing all power, I was driving to a store and parking in its parking lot. The vehicle warned me to not turn it off and the instrument panel showed a warning of ‘Electrical Fault Detected’. Because the car gave me the message to not turn it off, I decided to drive home. I had no idea the car would suddenly lose all power. I still do not know what ‘Elctrical Fault Detected’ means. When I tried to investigate this fault, I was surprised to see that Land Rover Range Rover Sport models from 2023 and 2024 were recalled for this problem. On Nov 22 I pulled over to the shoulder of a highway in the midst of a snowstorm to make a phone call. When I went to get back onto the highway, my vehicle lost all brakes...the brake pedal hit the floor...and I had a low-speed impact with a berm rising up to a driveway that intersected the shoulde
... r. The vehicle had to be towed to a nearby dealer. The only mechanism to stop it on/off the tow truck was slamming transmission into park. Due to the storm, I had to spend the night in the vehicle in the freezing cold at the tow destination. The cause of the brake failure was determined to be a material defect of a rubber section of brake line deep in the engine compartment that burst, causing a loss of all brake fluid. It was repaired under warranty. I had just received the vehicle back from repairing the body damage to the bumper when the Ford brake line recall was issued. I believed that my incident in Nov was the result of the issue that resulted in the recall, and that surely the warranty repair would have thus resolved all related issues. That was not the case. When I brought the vehicle to Koons Ford Woodbridge four routine service, they found that it failed the brake line recall test and that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. However, they are not actively repairing it. In fact, the parts needed to repair don't exist. I'm told it will be 2-3 months before a part is even available. And they have failed to provide an any vehicle that can safely transport my family of 7. I therefore believe that Ford have *failed to comply* with the NHTSA regulation that obligates them to repair the vechicle. They're not repairing it. So I am therefore left to demand that they select another option available under recall regulations, preferably a full refund of the purchase amount. At a minimum, this incident refutes Ford's published claims that there have been no collisions associated with the brake line defect that resulted in the recall.Read more

I believe I was intentionally lied to because my car was under warranty at the time and they didn’t want to address the issues. I asked for them to check again prior to the expiration of the factory warranty they said they found nothing. I now have 69k miles and the issues that I’m experiencing surely didn’t happen over night/ Recently when my oil change light came on another light came on as well. On April 15, 2025, I purchased a pre-owned 2016 Nissan Altima with just under 51,000 miles. Less than two months later, the vehicle’s transmission failed. A diagnostic revealed the issue is with the CVT transmission, a well-documented defect in many Nissan models. When I contacted Nissan to file
... a claim under what I thought would be warranty protection, I was denied because the extended warranty period had technically expired. However, I was not the vehicle owner during that warranty period, and the defect had not presented itself until now. I am now left to pay thousands of dollars to replace a part that Nissan has previously acknowledged as faulty. This is not simply a warranty issue—it’s a case of a known manufacturer defect causing harm to a consumer who acted in good faith. As a working-class family of six, we cannot absorb this kind of financial blow—especially when it is due to a failure Nissan has seen repeatedly in their CVT-equipped vehicles. I am requesting that the Attorney General’s office investigate this matter and advocate for Nissan to take responsibility by covering 100% of the repair costs. I honestly do not understand why this faulty transmission issue has not warranted a recall. The sudden and unexpected inability to continue acceleration is an extremely dangerous occurrence that can lead to a collision resulting in fatality or paralyzation.Read more
