Back in the fall/winner of 2024 (could have been 2025) my Honda Odyssey had a recall for a low pressure fuel pump. However, Honda and many other dealers were dealing with hundreds of thousands of recalls, and we’re only recalling the vehicles with actual symptoms. My vehicle was hesitating and exp
... eriencing sudden loss of power during acceleration therefore Honda agreed to repair my vehicle. Everything seemed to work fine after that with no issues, but approximately three months later, I was having issues with my vehicle and brought it into my Mechanic, to find out that my high-pressure fuel pump was not working properly. Upon further investigation, I found out that a bad low-pressure fuel pump starves the high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) of required volume. This causes the HPFP to work far beyond its design limits to build pressure, leading to cavitation (vapor bubbles damaging internal components), overheating, and premature mechanical wear from metal-on-metal friction. When I dug a little deeper, I found out that many Honda owners were dealing with failing high-pressure fuel pumps after having their low pressure fuel pump recall repairs completed. Many in which were in a similar timeframe to mine. Honda offered me no good merit assistance and stated that unfortunately, I would be liable for the entire cost of the repair. It is more than obvious that the failing of my low pressure fuel pump impacted the performance and workload of my high-pressure fuel pump, causing it to fail, which I believe Honda should be liable for replacing. Please look further into this matter to help others like me that had their low pressure fuel pump recall performed, and shortly after needed to replace their high-pressure fuel pump at their own costly expense.Read more

I own a 2018 Honda Odyssey EX-L (VIN [XXX]). The vehicle experienced a sudden loss of power and entered limp mode, with multiple safety and driver-assistance systems shutting down at once (adaptive cruise, braking assist, lane/road departure mitigation, EPS, etc.). A Honda dealer (Allen Honda, Colle
... ge Station, TX) retrieved DTC P0369 and documented that the front camshaft is worn and has thrust forward, contacting the camshaft position (CMP/TDC) sensor and damaging the thrust plate. The dealer is recommending an internal engine repair costing several thousand dollars. I am very concerned because Honda has already acknowledged serious engine defects in this same J35 V6 family under Recall 23V751 (connecting rod bearing wear leading to engine damage and stall) for 2018–2019 Odyssey, yet my dealer states my VIN is “not part of the recall” and that this is a “separate issue.” In practice, I am seeing a major internal engine failure that causes sudden derate and disables multiple safety systems, but I am being told there is no recall coverage or assistance simply because my individual VIN falls outside Honda’s current recall production range. I am requesting that NHTSA review this incident as a potential recall exclusion problem: owners with the same engine family and serious internal failures are being denied recall coverage on a technical VIN cutoff, even though the safety consequence—loss of power and shutdown of critical safety systems while driving—is similar to the failures already recognized under Recall 23V751 and the ongoing engine defect investigation. I believe this situation may warrant expansion of existing recall coverage or a new recall campaign for currently excluded VINs like mine, and reimbursement for owners who have already paid for these repairs. On 4/30/26 my 10 year old son was sitting in the middle row behind the driver buckled in his seatbelt. The middle row, middle seatbelt (that comes down from ceiling) got wrapped around his neck and kept tightening. He yelled for help. I was driving and saw in my rearview mirror that my son was being
... pulled up by his neck from the seatbelt in the ceiling. I pulled into a shopping center immediately to try to help him. I could not reach down in between the seats to unhook it because the more I tried to release him, the more it would tighten. That seatbelt requires a tool to be pressed into the lock to release it and the more I tried to get to the seatbelt to unfasten it the more it was tightening and pulling my son up (he was literally starting to hang from the ceiling). I unhooked his seatbelt so he could push himself up to try to release some of the tension around his neck. I wound up running into a Michaels store screaming that I needed scissors because my son was hanging from a seatbelt. She gave me scissors and I went back out and cut the seatbelt to release my son from the seatbelt noose around his neck. He had red marks around his neck afterwards. I still have the cut seatbelt and the other half retracted into the ceiling. Research has confirmed that there have been other reports of issues with children having to be cut out of seatbelts due to the Automatic Locking Retractor (ALR) in Honda Odysseys, model years 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and my model 2018. I called Honda corporate on 6/8/26 and filed a complaint. I was told I would receive an email response. I have not received an email or any response. So I called Honda corporate again on 6/25/26 and was told someone would reach out to me, but they could not tell me anything over the phone at that time. I made an appointment at my Honda dealership to have the seatbelt replaced, but have been waiting on a response from Honda corporate before doing any repairs.Read more

For a couple of weeks we have been having issues with our 2018 Honda Odyssey's back right door. When you go to open it, something happens where it makes it shut after fully opening. ... as going to put my [XXX] son in his carseat, which is located mid van right side. He snuck infront of me and was standing in the path of the sliding door, it did what it normally does, the same door did not detect his body and began shutting on him. As it was squeezing his shoulders I was pushing back on the sliding door with all my strength, and after a few seconds it opened back up. I'm not sure whether the sensor failed, or it can't detect past a certain height, but either way it was a very scary situation. This had just happened an hour ago, so I haven't reported it to any authorities or anything. I came home and googled how to make a manufacturer report and it lead me here. If I had not been standing behind my son, I believe the door would have continued shutting more, enough to sustain serious injuries if not more. My son physically was okay, aside from a red mark on his upper arm where the door was shutting on him, he did need at least 5 minutes of consoling after, which only happens when something truly hurt him. After a day of heavy rain, the vehicle stalled at a stop light and would not restart. The steering wheel and transmission locked, preventing the vehicle from being placed in neutral, creating a safety hazard as the vehicle was immobile in traffic. No warning lamps appeared prior to the failure. The
... vehicle required a tow. The dealer confirmed water had intruded through the passenger side cowl/firewall seam due to inadequate factory sealing, tracking down and pooling directly onto the Body Control Module (BCM) mounted on the passenger side firewall. The BCM failed due to water damage, causing PATS desynchronization and the no-start condition. The BCM failure subsequently shorted out the starter motor. Dealer replaced the BCM, repaired the leak, and replaced the starter. Total repair cost approximately $3,200. Failed components are available for inspection at the dealership. This identical failure; passenger side cowl water intrusion leading directly to BCM damage — is documented across numerous 2021+ F-150 owner forums, indicating a widespread factory sealing defect at the cowl/firewall/inner fender seam junction.Read more

While attempting to operate my 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5, the vehicle abruptly displayed a 'Check Electric Vehicle System' warning accompanied by a critical red master service light on the dashboard. Driving the vehicle with this specific code puts the driver at immediate risk of 'Turtle Mode' or a sudden, total loss of motive power while in motion. Living in a mountainous region where the primary thoroughfare (Highway 17) lacks shoulders, an unexpected power failure presents an extreme, unreasonable highway safety risk to myself and surrounding traffic.
