My vehicle intermittently shifts from normal automatic Drive (D) into S mode without any intentional driver input. I do not touch or activate the steering-wheel paddle shifter when this occurs. Searching on reddit and other forums I see many other drivers have the same issue. The problem appears to
... happen primarily after coming to a complete stop, such as at a traffic light or stop sign. When I then press the accelerator to proceed, the vehicle may have very little acceleration because it has unexpectedly entered S mode. This has occurred while I was attempting to turn or proceed into traffic and has nearly caused an accident on multiple occasions. The issue is intermittent and cannot be reproduced on demand. However, it has happened multiple times under similar circumstances. I am certain I did not intentionally activate the paddle shifter. I am concerned this may be a safety defect involving the electronic shift control, paddle shifter, transmission controls, sensors, or related software. An unexpected change in transmission mode immediately after stopping can create a dangerous situation because the driver expects normal automatic operation and acceleration when entering an intersection or traffic. I am requesting that NHTSA document this complaint and investigate whether this is a safety-related defect that may affect other vehicles.Read more

Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS): Adjusts steering torque to help keep your van centered in a detected lane. Lane Departure Warning (LDW): Alerts you if you drift across detected lane lines without using your turn signal. Road Departure Mitigation (RDM): Applies steering help or braking if you drift off the paved road entirely. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC): Maintains a safe, set following distance behind a vehicle traveling ahead of you. These systems are helpful in keeping you safe while driving. The problem with camera failing cause these system warnings to populate on the dash. This is distracting. This has been confirmed with independent service center. Has not been inspected by manufacture. Started August 21. quoted $2200 to replace and recalibrate.Read more

The car on a weekly basis or almost every time it is driven. The car jerks when driving at low speeds. This is a safety risk when driving for vehicles in front or behind me, as the car jerks forward. This has been mentioned to the dealer, but they stated a charge of 180 USD will be incurred for diag

I am surprised there is no recall on this. I put the date in down below but it happens almost every time the car is driven.Read more

A warning for Power Tailgate Problem keeps coming up. It tried to open multiple times while driving, beeping at us. It wouldn’t open with the buttons at all. We had to manually open and close it. This makes the second time it’s done it. And it always has to do when it rains. Honda knows this is

... re ADAS system to be inoperable. There have been a few days that they didn't come on immediately. I have had a few days where they came on half-way through my drive. This is a safety issue due to a defect in either the front camera or wiring to it, a nuisance, and something Honda needs to correct. It seems to be way too common of an issue according to my research. There hasn't been any damage to the van and no reason for these to come on. I have done research and see this has happened to many people. The replacement camera is costly as well as the calibration. Therefore, I haven't taken it to the dealership but I have discussed the issue with them. They agree that the camera is getting too hot and failing, which is causing the errors and of course all of those safety features fail simultaneously.Read more

2018 Honda Odyssey Elite I am reporting an unresolved issue stemming from a failed recall remedy for NHTSA Safety Recall 23V-431 (Honda TSB 20-049) regarding the MOST bus fiber-optic network. My vehicle has been taken to an authorized Honda dealership twice to receive the official recall repair (re
... placing the FAKRA network connectors). Despite these two repair attempts, the network defect continues to escalate. The vehicle experiences sudden, violent, and near-constant loud popping and clicking noises through the audio speakers while driving. This occurs both at random and predictably when driving over bumps. Following the increase in these network pops, the vehicle's Blu-ray player completely failed and stopped working. Furthermore, the central infotainment screen frequently freezes, reboots, and displays an "Audio Connection Lost" error message, which also cuts out the FM radio tuner entirely.Crucially, this fiber-optic network failure recently caused a total loss of the digital instrument cluster and speedometer while driving. While this complete cluster blackout has only occurred one time so far, it presents an unpredictable and dangerous safety hazard, as I am left with no knowledge of my current speed or critical vehicle safety alerts while in motion. The manufacturer’s standard recall remedy of swapping plastic connector clips is ineffective for my vehicle. The recurring failures after two repairs indicate a permanently compromised factory wiring harness or a damaged network module that is continuously dropping the signal. The manufacturer needs to authorize a thorough diagnostic and full harness/module replacement to permanently resolve this safety defect before the instrument cluster fails again.Read more

... re is an issue with our brakes. We took the van into our local Honda dealership and were told the ADAS camera was broken and would need to be replaced. We were told this would cost $2,733 and that there's a chance we will also have to replace the windshield (which is physically fine) for another $1200. The camera breaking is not normal maintenance or expected due to wear and tear. There is nothing physically wrong with our windshield, we have had no accidents, we have kept up on all needed vehicle maintenance. It's my understanding the location of the camera is simply causing it to overheat and blow out the electrical system. Additionally concerning is that even if I did have the money to fix the issue Honda does not have any cameras available. They are on backorder. It means as a driver to three small children I have to assume the nonstop alerts are all benign for at least a month. In the off chance there is a true safety concern such as brakes malfunctioning, I will not know as the alert system is going off at all times.Read more

This complaint concerns a serious, unresolved powertrain/propulsion safety defect in my 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe. While traveling approximately 70 mph, the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion and would not accelerate normally while surrounded by highway traffic.MOST IMPORTANTLY, THERE WAS NO WARNING OR AD
... VANCE INDICATION. No warning lights, messages, or symptoms appeared before the loss of propulsion. I had no opportunity to anticipate the failure or prepare to safely exit traffic. This placed me and other motorists at immediate risk of a serious or potentially fatal collision.A Hyundai dealership inspected the vehicle and documented DTC P284001, Shift Fork D Position Fault. Despite this documented fault, the underlying safety issue remains unresolved. Hyundai has not identified a permanent correction or established that the vehicle is safe to operate. There has not been another incident because I will not risk another sudden loss of propulsion by driving the vehicle. The absence of another failure does NOT mean the problem is resolved. The vehicle remains available for inspection.I have repeatedly sought assistance from Hyundai and the dealership without a meaningful resolution. Newer information regarding a possible computer reset/relearn procedure has also been presented, but the dealership refuses to perform it.I reviewed NHTSA complaints for 2023 Santa Fe vehicles and found multiple reports describing similar safety symptoms, including sudden loss of propulsion, inability to accelerate, abnormal transmission shifting, and loss of speed. This raises serious concern that this may not be an isolated failure.A vehicle that can unexpectedly lose propulsion at highway speed WITHOUT ANY WARNING creates an extreme crash risk. I respectfully request that NHTSA review the similar complaints, investigate whether a broader transmission/powertrain safety defect exists, and determine whether corrective action is necessary before this results in serious injury or death.Read more

The electronic door locking system on my 2025 Audi S5 has repeatedly and unpredictably locked me inside the vehicle and, on separate occasions, locked me out of the vehicle, with no consistent trigger. The electronic central door locking system/mechanism (door latch actuators and associated locking

This matches a known issue reported in Audi TSB 2078793/4, affecting 2025-2026 A5, S5, Q5, and SQ5 models, and is also the subject of a filed class action lawsuit (Parikh v. Volkswagen Group of America, Inc., Case No. 2:26-cv-03288, C.D. Cal.) covering this exact vehicle and model year. Yes — a "Central Locking: Malfunction" warning message has appeared on the vehicle's display.Read more
