Consequence
A loss of vehicle control increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy

Defect Description
Fontaine Modification Company (Fontaine Modification) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Freightliner Business Class M2 vehicles. Welds may crack and fail, allowing the Intermediate steering shaft assembly to detach from the steering column.
Consequence
A steering shaft that detaches can result in a loss of steering, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Fontaine Modification will replace the intermediate steering shaft, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 3, 2025. Owners may contact Fontaine Modification customer service at 1-800-366-8246.

Consequence
Brakes that pull to one side during an ACC braking event may cause a sudden change in vehicle direction, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy

Consequence
A cracked brake drum can cause a loss of brake function and increase the risk of a crash.

Incident date: May 7, 2024
Cylinder 2 misfire. Coolant and oil are leaking down cylinder number 2 causing it to misfire. This was diagnosed and confirmed by an independent service center. The engine was slipping which prompted the service appointment. Contacted Ford Motor Company and was advised to file this claim.
