Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles. The welds on the outboard rear seat strikers for the second row bench and second row bucket seats may fail during a front impact crash. The front outboard seat strikers for the third row bench seats may fail in the event of a rear impact crash. In addition, the second row bench and second row bucket seats may not withstand the required loads.
Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will weld in a striker reinforcement bracket on the second and third row outboard seat strikers, free of charge. The recall began December 19, 2019. Owners may contact FCA US customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is V91.

Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will bleed the vehicle's brake system, free of charge. The recall began September 29, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is U86.

No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was coasted to the shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle was then coasted into a nearby parking lot. While coasting into the parking lot, the vehicle jerked and bucked abnormally. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. In addition, the contact stated that the transmission was replaced by the dealer three times within 107,000 miles. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000.

The contact stated that she had stopped the vehicle on the street on a slight incline with the front of the vehicle pointed up the incline and had shifted to park (P). The contact stated that she was not sure if she engaged the parking brake. The contact stated that she thought she had left the keys in the ignition, but had not heard a key warning chime when she exited. The contact stated that she had stepped away from the vehicle and almost immediately, it started to roll backwards. The contact stated that she ran after the vehicle. the sliding doors and sometimed the trunk door on this van unlocl and szlf open randomly. I took it to a mechanic and they said that it is the actuator failing. Dodge knows that this is a problem and extended the warranty, but the dealership in south audtin is difficult to work with. THIS JUSTIFIED A FULL RECALL BECAUSE THE DOORS COULD JUST SELF OPEN WHENEVER AND SOMEONE COULD FLY OUT OF THE VAN
Engine loss of power, failure to accelerate, sudden forward lurch when stopped, Check engine light diagnosed by dealership and independent shop as Cylinder 2 failure. Purchased from Carvana 11/2024 with just over 70,000 miles on it. Currently has about 77,000. Cylinder head is currently being replaced at a cost of $6,500.00

The sliding door lock actuator froze there was an extended warranty on them for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Mine went out at 129,000
I purchased this van from a used car lot in December of 2025. After driving it for a little over 2 weeks the check engine light came on. My mechanic did a computer check on it and it showed that the transmission is bad. Apparently, through much investigation work on my part, the warranty I paid for on the vehicle is “void” because the dealer that I purchased it from was well aware that it needed a transmission! They reset the computer according to what I was able to find out, and then sold it to me. It’s a 2019 model and for the transmission to be in need of replacement already, I’m questioning why! I’m surprised that no other owners have evidently had this issue. Please let me know if there have been other owners that have experienced transmission issues in this van. Thank You
I went into the Dodge place for my routine oil change on 2/3/26. While waiting, it was discovered by a technician that I had a very bad oil leak. This is very alarming to me. One reason is, there were no signs that I had an oil leak. A few examples: my oil sensor light did not come on, no oil spots recognized on concrete, or no smell of possible oil burning. The Dodge automotive technician determined the cause to be my engine oil cooler. Engine oil leaked all over everything under the housing (can provide a video). Another reason this alarms me is that this particular part is not covered under my warranty. This is expensive to have repaired. Lastly, the technician stated to us that there are over 30,000 or more vehicles from the Chrysler/Dodge Corporation with this same part that people are having to have replaced, and in some cases, replace multiple times. In conclusion, this cheaply made part should be a recall in all of these vehicles. The engine oil cooler should be made of metal material.
I went to lower the 2 bucket seats to load an item on the van and the seats won’t go down to stow.

2019 dodge caravan, have taken in for every oil change, we used manual to take in with mileage milestones, recently had tires on and a good look over before going on vacation. Transmission randomly failed us on freeway with 4 young children leaving us stranded.
The back up camera is inverted. It shows perfect on the screen. Just inverted. There is a known recall for other 2019 dodge vehicles for the same issue. NHTSA 25E052. How is the grand caravan not included in this. They are having the exact same issues.
So i purchased this van Oct 7.2025. From the day i took it. The doors and trunk going crazy openning on its own. Placing my kids and pets in danger. Alarm going off going crazy and locking our family in the van. Took up to 30 mins to get in and out. I had safe 2019 van soors werent electric never had this issue. Van just stopped in the middle of highway. I was almost hit by semi truck? I was so scared. I went into safeway. Last week. I came out all doors .trunk were open alarm .screamming. my dog was no where to be found. Thank God he had hid under the seat he was freaking out. Im so scared and nervous for our safety. The dealer referred the contact to the manufacturer, who informed the contact that assistance would not be provided because the vehicle had exceeded the required mileage, even though the contact had previously reported the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.

Without warning, the van began lurching forward at a stop light almost causing a collision and then completely stalled having to be towed to the shop. Luckily, I bought a service plan and only had to pay $100, but the parts list was $6,000+. Sliding rear doors have the electric assist option. On several occasions myself and my children have nearly been closed in the door as it malfunctions and randomly starts closing. Once I was getting my child out of the car seat when the door began closing on me, it did not stop closing as it met the resistance of my body. I have not had this issue serviced, as it is very intermittent. 10/28/2025 My driver's side headrest exploded. Thankfully no one was injured and I wasn't driving at the time. This could have caused a really dangerous situation had the vehicle been in motion. I was in the parking lot with nothing touching the headrest. Looking at the headrest there are jagged pieces of plastic that just crumbled to bits. Upon further investigation, this is a known issue with this type of vehicle, but it's not a recall. 70,000 miles. I'm waiting to see what the bill for this repair will be, but I'm concerned it is going to be replaced with the same malfunctioning equipment and I may not be so lucky next time this happens.

My van was over heating frequently and no one could figure out why. I changed the coolant our and the temp. Sensor. It doesn't overheat now, but the heater quit working the day it was changed out. It hard shifts from 40 mph and up. Transmission fluid is good. I reset the power module by unhooking the battery for an hour. Still hard shifts . Scanner doesn't bring up any codes. 98,800 miles on it. Back sliding doors won't lock and tire sensor and radio dont work. What can I do? I cant afford a new transmission. 2019 Dodge Van GT when driving in about 2/3 gears(automatic trans.) was slipping and hesitating around August 2025. In July 2025 I decided to have the trans. Fluid and filter exchanged. The dealership was said it was on the schedule for it to be done. After that is when the problem started. Took back to dealership and they ran some tests and noticed the problem. The tech told me to drive it for a while that could be that the transmission needed to get use to the new fluid. It started getting worse. I took it to a transmission shop. They said the fluid was burnt and they needed to open the transmission to look closer. $1500 to check. They said they found issues. Total cost to repair/rebuild would be $6700. I thought it was a lot but it’s my main vehicle and needed it. The van has 92k miles and the transmission should not go out that soon. I’m filing a complaint because I believe the transmission should last longer than it did.
Passenger side sliding door is stuck in the locked position. Nothing I do will unlock it. The lock doesn't respond to any buttons either on the key fob or on the overhead panel. Also cannot be unlocked manually. It is my belief that this is a serious safety issue for rear passengers.

At 99500 the transmission went Kaputt! Repair man says metal shavings obstructed flow of fluid, through the filter, into the transmission, not allowing for running the car forward or backward. Very dangerous as we were driving down a highway when it just stopped working. Vehicle is only 6 years old. Why would this happen so soon?

I cant quite describe it as it wasn't very whistling or clicking it was just an abnormal sound that it had not been making and I could hear it more when turning my wheel to the left. It started to jump while I drove. Like it was fine then would just jolt forward. When putting it in park I noticed that it wasn't making noise in the neutral position. But then when I was going to drive again it did not want to go forward. And at the first few tries I was able to reverse it. It did not want to accelerate and when I tried it would make a revving noise like if I was trying to race. I reversed and parked and my husband put some transmission fluid thinking that was the problem. The noise stopped and I was able to drive it briefly without the issues but then as I got further if started again and I had to get back home. It completely stopped accelerating and my husband and son had to push it. And once it got some speed j was able to accelerate just a little enough to drive it home. At home it stalled on me again and I was stuck in the middle of the street trying to reverse. Thats when my husband and son got back to push. It was a very scary situation as I had all my little children with me. And not only that it was so hot and we got stuck in the heat with the vehicle stalling. Now we had a mechanic look at if and they say it's the transmission. So I of course googled transmission problems to find there have been other issues with transmission in the 2019 models but mine wasn't part of the recall according to the Vin #. Please look into this further as these vehicles should not be on the roads stalling out at random. Which had also happened to me previously but I did not think transmission at the time. And that time was even more terrifying I was getting onto the highway from the access road and it stalled right there.

Transmission had a complete failure on July 24, 2025. There were no warning signs it was operating fine until that moment. Odometer 86,948. Had van towed to my mechanics shop where he diagnosed the problem. A new factory trans was ordered and installed at a cost of $6,316.23.
2019 Dodge Grand Caravan driver side seat restraint blow up while vehicle was on driveway and nodody inside. This was noticed next day 8/19/2025. This recall was effective for same vehicles year 2011 - 2018. The same head restraint is all Grand Caravan models 2019 - 2020. I want also years 2019 and 2020 Grand Caravan models included in recall. If this had happened while on driving the consequences might have been bad.
My wife drove to and from a doctor's appointment. When she went to leave the vehicle did a hard jolt and would not drive anymore. There was no indication or prior warning lights about the transmission. Had it towed to a shop. Did my research and between 2016 -2018 there was a known issue with power trains on the Dodge Grand Caravan.
Left sliding door latch is stuck in lock position. In case of emergency passengers (2 daughters) would be trapped inside. There is currently a class action lawsuit for previous models but it was only settled for 2017 and 2018 models. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
Driving on expressway with cruise control engaged, approx 76 mph. Cruise control would not disengage by braking, canceling or turning off system. I was able to brake with the cruise fighting to accelerate the vehicle. The brakes were smoking and smelled burning during the incident. Drove approx 1/4 - 1/2 mile braking like this in order to safely get over to the right lane and exit the expressway. I did not try to use neutral because I needed the power to keep speed to safely change lanes in heavy traffice to get out of the middle lane on expressway. Was able to shift to park and turn car off. When restarted to tow vehicle the cruise system was still engaged but it was only put in neutral (not drive) to get vehicle on the tow truck. Towed to dealership. No report back yet from dealership. So terrifying!!!
Drivers side sliding door lock started to make some noise occasionally and shortly after the door locked shut and will not and can not be opened manually or with the buttons. A few days afterwards the passenger door has started to make this same buzzing noise and we fear it will lock itself also like the drivers side not bing able to open with the buttons or manually. I know this is a major safety issue and should be addressed by not only myself, but the manufacturer. I have read this being a common issue among many dodge caravans and I feel actions should be taken place to correct this issue to the tune of at the very least, when there is a malfunction that the door should be able to be opened and closed manually. I contacted my local authorized dodge dealership and they told me extended warranty for this issue is for 10yrs/100,000 miles.
The sliding door actuator to the driver's side is locked shut and this causes a large safety concern for my children in the back seat. If there was a car accident and this door is locked shut and unable to open it could be the difference between life and death for my children.
I had the driver’s side power window go down and not go back up. Had the power window fixed by an auto shop. It was the regulator and motor for the power windows that went bad. $984 later it is now working. I’m reporting this so there’s a record of the issue on this vehicle. 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan GT. 85k miles.
Rear sliding door actuators prematurely fails causing loud noises and door to not operate properly. This makes it unsafe to drive with children in the vehicle. Dodge refuses to reimburse extended warranty claim.
Power sliding Door lock actuators failed. First started experiencing problems with the doors at 75,000mi clicking noises and then at 90,000 miles the drivers side door became stuck shut. This poses a risk of my car seat aged and disabled children to be stuck locked in the vehicle in the event of a crash or fire. The second door began clicking near 93,000 miles and is now stuck locked as well. On 4/5/25 I received a warranty extension notice from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles stating a warranty extension on the part and repairs however my vehicle has passed the mileage upon receipt of their letter. When I contacted FCA US LLC Customer Care they refused to further extend the warranty for repair even after a supervisor agreed that this a safety concern and that he would not be comfortable with his family riding in a vehicle that risks them being trapped. Upon further research I have found that FCA has known about issues with the lock actuators dating back as far as model years 2015-2017 in which the warranty was extended to 15yrs/150,000 miles. This puts over 500,000 families at risk of being trapped in their vehicles in the event the lock actuators fail. This should be a safety recall with no mileage restriction as it puts millions of people at risk of death or serious injury if they were to be trapped in their vehicles.

Engine light on. Only have 70k miles on vehicle. Giving cylinder misfire code. Apparently others also have this issue. Took vehicle to dodge dealership who can’t figure it out. Replaced gasket, coil pack and Spark plugs. They were still stumped and wanted another tech to do a diagnostic at a large amount of money. At another mechanic now who’s trying to figure it out. I have two young children, this vehicle could stop in the road? THERE SHOULD BE A MANDATORY RECALL OF THE ENTIRE ENGINE. Do they want lawsuits for injuries or worse on their hands? I wish I never bought this vehicle.
My van has only 88,509 miles. In the middle of a snowstorm, when I was 200 miles from home, it died. It had weird noises during the day, but the engine light had not come on at all. As I was trying to get to my mother's house in blinding snow, it simply stopped on a hill on a dark road. I was terrified. I had to rent a car to get back to NJ (which cost $100). I had my van towed to a Dodge dealership in Vestal, NY where I was quoted $9000 to replace the transmission. See attached. This problem seems to be a known issue with the 2019 Grand Caravan based on research online, and I am concerned that Dodge has not adequately addressed this major transmission defect. I rejected the $9000 repair cost and had my van towed to a small town garage and I am still waiting for them to finish it. They estimated $4000. I have not gotten my van back yet so I do not know the final diagnosis/repair cost.
The contact owns a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that the driver's side sliding door failed to open. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that the door actuator had failed. The mechanic replaced the door actuator; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The contact later received an Extended Warranty letter related to the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered due to the mileage. The failure mileage was approximately 94,000.
