The sensing diagnostic module (SDM) was left in manufacturing mode and not activated at the assembly plant prior to shipment. Remedy: Dealers returned the vehicles to the GM assembly plant and the sensing diagnostic modules were activated. The accessory sport bar contains a high-mounted brake light that may not function. In addition, it may block the vehicle's existing high-mounted brake light. As such, these vehicles may fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."
Remedy: Dealers will inspect the installation of the accessory bar and provide the correct vehicle wiring, if necessary, free of charge. 1. The fuel pump power control module on my 2022 Chevy Silverado failed. It was 38 months old and had 14,970 miles on it. I purchased it only 2 months ago. I believe the specific part number was 13554060. It was replaced with part number 13554821. The dealer retained--or more likely, disposed of--the old part. The cost of the repair was $762.87. 2. I was driving on Rt. US 20 in Toledo, Ohio. My truck experienced a sudden loss of power without warning. The vehicle stalled and would not restart. I had to call a tow truck. The truck was towed to Ballas Buick, where the part was replaced. 3. There was a voluntary recall of other vehicles that utilize this same part, so the manufacturer should be aware of the flaw in this component. The recall number is N252516900. 4. My L87 6.2L engine shut off on the interstate while driving in traffic at 70mph. I coasted to the left shoulder and attempted to restart it, but it would not turn over. I had it towed to a dealer where they diagnosed it as seized. Currently waiting for a new engine to arrive with no ETA. I had no warning signs or sounds. Two months prior it had the recall completed passing the PICO test and changed to the heavier oil.

I replaced rear brakes and rotors after getting brake monitor warning on 2022 silverado 1500. I have been having problem with amount of force needed to stop truck for quite a while. The pads were not worn much at all but brake pad clips were broken on both sides of rear brakes. Rotors were rusted which looked as if rear brakes have not been contacting rotors. The brakes work significantly better now. I live in NC where rust is not serious problem. I feel there is a problem with rear brake hardware on these trucks
The transmission died on my 2.7L Turbo Max engine in my 2022 Silverado. The "D" was flashing and giving no acceleration when pressing on the gas. The vehicle was also hard to shift. From my understanding the 2.7L turbo max is the only engine in this time frame that hasn't been re-called due to transmission issues.

The rear tailgate started opening when I opened my doors and also when driving down the road. I would pull up and tail gate was wide open. I was okay but thankfully nothing in the back came out and hit vehicles behind me. No warning lights and anything. Dealership said it’s a faulty tailgate switch. Which 800,000 vehicles were recalled but not mine. Even though it’s the same year as the recalled vehicles. Gm needs to be held accountable for all of them. This was a problem for 3 weeks. Constant dead batteries, jumping vehicle, closing tailgate and causing lights to go crazy. This is a definite safety concern. Had to wait a week to get into dealership for diagnosis. Than over a week for the parts.

I called my dealer and said they could only replace the faulty switch and not my damaged tailgate. It was due to the faulty switch that led to my Tailgate getting damaged. I believe this switch and my Tailgate need to replaced.
While driving with my trailer my Tailgate opened by itself and hit my trailer when backing up. There is a open recall for a faulty switch that may allow the Tailgate to open unexpectedly. While turning left, the transmission stuttered and got stuck in first gear. I did some basic research and learned that this is a known issue with 2020-2022 Chevrolet Silverado vehicles. I attempted the suggested fix which worked briefly. I then took the vehicle to my local Chevrolet dealer for repairs. After further research I learned that this is a known issue with my year and model of Silverado. GM further voluntarily offered a 15 year, 150,000 mile warranty for this issue. According to GM, my particular VIN is not included in this recall. I am concerned as to how many other trucks are not included. This issue also cost nearly $4,000 for the repair.

L87 6.2L engine failure after doing recommended recall for a different oil
While stopped at a stop light engine quit running and after three attempts to restart MIL appeared and stated low oil pressure. Safety hazards included; being stuck at an intersection blocking traffic and putting myself at risk of being rear ended. was below freezing temperatures and stranded for an hour before tow arrived GM dealership found engine to be bad and needs replaced.

The contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V060000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages); however, the VIN was not available. The recall information suggested that water was entering the vehicle and causing an electrical short. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the liftgate exterior release assembly had failed, Part Number: 85734717, and needed to be replaced with a new Part Number: 85877552. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 52,689.

They reset it and it was fine for a couple months and now it isn’t working again. I went there and they said that my camera is not getting enough power and they have seen so many of these problems happening with these trucks but still no recall. Was waiting to get one because there should be a recall on these if so many trucks are having issues with it

February 3, 2026 my 2022 Silverado ZR2 with 37,000 miles shut off on me while driving at a speed of 45 mph, i was able to pull over safely, I mentioned this to the dealership and they were unable to figure out why. 2 weeks later, my truck began to start making a loud knocking noise from the engine, I took it to the dealership and they stated that it was a failed engine and they would need to start a claim and most likely need a new engine. I have been waiting for a new engine now without a ship date on when the engine will arrive to the dealership to begin repairing my truck. They did do the recall test, change the oil type and oil cap. However, the engine still failed and I have been left without my truck until who knows when. I’ve started a claim myself with General Motors to get better updates, but they don’t have one either at this time.

The vehicle was still running; however, when the contact attempted to shift into reverse(R) to get back onto the roadway, the message "Conditions not Correct for Shift" was displayed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and DTC: P2724 and P0700 were retrieved. The dealer determined that the valve body needed to be replaced. The dealer associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V083000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 76,642.

2022 ZR2 Silverado with the L87 6.2L. Have been complaining of shuttering starting at 22,500 miles and a few times after that. Vehicle passed PICO recall test and engine failed within 2,000 miles with zero warning. I was merging into traffic accelerating.

Component Involved: Visibility/Backup Device, Electrical System, Forward Collision Avoidance Description of Incident: The Android 12-based infotainment system in this vehicle is suffering from a progressive hardware/software failure that creates a severe, multi-layered safety hazard. CRITICAL DRIVER DISTRACTION: The system has become largely non-responsive, requiring me to repeatedly press on-screen buttons to perform basic functions. This forces me to divert my eyes and manual attention away from the road for periods far exceeding 2 seconds. This "visual-manual distraction" is a direct result of the system's inability to process commands, making safe operation impossible while attempting to use vehicle controls. VISIBILITY FAILURE (FMVSS 111): The failure impacts the digital rearview mirror and the safety camera feeds. These cameras frequently glitch, lag, or freeze, depriving me of necessary rear and surround visibility while moving. This is a violation of federal safety standards for rearview visibility. SYSTEMIC ELECTRICAL FAILURE: This "slowly dying" system is also interfering with the vehicle's communication bus, causing the power door locks to malfunction. This creates an entrapment or security risk. I have reported these issues to General Motors/OnStar. Despite their awareness of these "electrical gremlins" and the existence of limited service updates (like Program #N242435631), no permanent fix has been provided. This is a systemic safety defect that requires a mandatory recall to prevent accidents caused by driver distraction and visibility loss. The system needs updating to Android 14. It is Android 12 now. This is the fix. Gm want me to pay $250 for a hour for a macanic to update it. Gm was updating over the air, but it was causing the battery on the vehicle's to prematurely die under warranty. It was affecting their bottom line.
