General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2014-2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2015-2016 Chevrolet Tahoe, and 2014-2015 GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles that may have received an incorrect replacement tensioner cable assembly as part of a previous recall remedy or a subsequent repair. The flexible steel cable connecting the driver's seat belt to the outboard side of the seat may be repeatedly bent over the seat side shield as the driver enters and exits the vehicle causing the cable to fatigue and separate.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver seat belt lap pretensioner, free of charge. The recall began on May 5, 2021. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, and GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N212330040.

Brake pedal was very hard to press down and was almost no response from brakes, brake assist service came on, vacuum pump failure, ot was replaced.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel failed to steer in the intended direction. The power steering warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a failed electronic power steering module. The contact was informed that the electronic power steering module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed of an unknown recall that had a similar failure description. In addition, the contact was informed that an unknown recall repair was performed on the vehicle in 2017. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

NOTE-We are visiting DE, but reside in Virginia. I recently experienced problems with my "Wheel Speed Sensor System" on my 2014 Chevy Silverado, LT, 5.3L V8 4WD, Crew Cab. My local garage in DE (our Condo is in DE- our home-residence is Virginia) looked at the vehicle and said I was having a problem with the wheel speed sensors partially locking up my brakes and causing a drag when driving. The garage in Newark, DE- Littles Garage told me that their system said there was a recall on my vehicle and that I'd need to have service done at a Chevrolet Dealership at no cost. I went to 2 Dealerships who stated my Truck's VIN did not show up in their system as having any active recalls. Reading the Recall notice, I see that GM contacted the Dealerships directly (I guess not to make the recall public) who have/had sold this vehicle with instructions to contact owners directly; however, I purchased the Vehicle in SC from a Ford Dealership in 2017. Since RECALL # N192261050 is stated as a safety problem that could cause my truck to be a dangerous safety hazard that could cause serious damage and even death to occupants of the vehicle. I understand from my garage that the issue is intermittent once discovered, even as I have not experienced anything for about a week, and it can re-appear at any time. You can understand that I need the NHTSA to help me resolve this issue and if I am deserving of a Recall Fix, to help me with Dealerships in DE. I hit my brakes to avoid an accident in multiple -5 degree weather and my trucks transmission shuttered and failed to work. This truck was running very strong before this unexpected event. Chevy owners should not have to pay for this out of pocket. Thank you

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the cabin became foggy, and the contact noticed that there was smoke coming from between the sliding window and the rear passenger's side window. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle. The contact then heard an abnormal gunshot like sound coming from the rear passenger's side window. The contact noticed that the rear passenger's side window had sustained a spider web crack, and the shattered glass was falling gradually. The contact was able to drive to residence, and the contact had not driven the vehicle since the failure. The contact stated that the defroster was engaged during the failure. The dealer was notified of the failure, and the vehicle would soon be towed to the dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in an unknown recall. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 83,000.
12/10/25 took wife’s vehicle to church, came home, at 11:22pm a loud noise from outside brought us out of bed, ran to door, wife asked if I smelled something, went outside and seen the glow from in front of garage, I ran to the garage and saw truck burning from engine bay, hooked up water hose, didn’t faze it, took fire department 20 minutes to show, truck has not been driven since 12/6/25, I live 2.5 miles back in the hills, police asked for surveillance video and showed the truck just started burning under the hood, now I’m getting the run around by AS insurance company

The transmission is bad because of the torque converter and a known issue where the transmission fluid gets too hot causing the torque converter to become damaged. There are also multiple known safety recalls with this vehicle and the issue with the transmission has been confirmed by a independent mechanic. The dealer had me driving it down roads that didn't take the vehicle through all of its gears so the problem wasn't noticed until after I had gotten on to the freeway. Went on the freeway I noticed that it was shifting up hard and downshifting hard as well as a rumble strip effects in the vehicle struggled to get up to speed or was sluggish. When I was clear and tried to pull out into a lane from an intersection the vehicle struggled to get up to speed and I was nearly rear-ended. That's when I took it to have an OBD reading which caused the check engine light to turn on and notice that codes were pending which means that the dealership cleared the codes before the test drive. Please have not been made aware yet but I will be filing a report.

It wouldn’t stop my vehicle and I was always nervous about hitting someone or causing an accident. Before then, I had change the breaking pad, taking it to the shop to check on their transmission and none of that was the problem. Please make a recall on this. People could cause or be involving in an accident. It mostly happened when I’m driving in slow between 2-5 miles per hour. It always scare me when backing out of my driveway because the brakes wouldn’t work. I do not have any pictures. I would rather take this to get fixed before causing an accident.

It always scare me when backing out of my driveway because the brakes wouldn’t work. I do not have any pictures. I would rather take this to get fixed before causing an accident.
This in addition to complaint form number:11699917 I have found the two forms issued by the GM global corp. One is a recall the other a bulletin about the HPFP fuel regulator to be replaced because it was known to fail. The first actual recall (13370 ) states that 25,000 vehicles were involved. The symptoms they stated are all the same that the vehicle I own are having including fuel fumes in the cab and under the hood . In 13370 right at the top it states urgent so this problem is definitely a safety concern for fire or explosion. In 13370A they eliminated a lot of these details including the words urgent and the amount of vehicles that were involved in this recall. And at the bottom of 13370A it also states that the following two paragraphs does not pertain to Canada , THIS is important because my vehicle was born in Canada 🇨🇦. So everything stated above that involves Canada manufacturing also. So this means my vehicle should be included in this recall also like I stated in my complaint to this safety commission 11699917 . My vehicle has the 5.3 , it’s a 1500 Silverado and it’s a 2014. Recalls don’t expire for safety as far as I heard. There is no reasonable explanation as to why this vehicle was excluded except it was manufactured in Canada and fell through the cracks of their recall . Without a recall they will not look at any bulletin for this safety issue on my vehicle. This is a very expensive repair to be done and GM knows this also.
My vehicle produced a check engine light then it started to be hard to start . Then I started to smell fuel in the cab and strong smell of fuel under the hood . I cannot see the leak so it has to be the HPFP located under the intake manifold and the fuel is being absorbed by the insulation located under the intake. In January 2014 the GM corporation issued a voluntary or bulletin for this year truck and the 5.3,engine for having installed the wrong fuel regulator in these pumps. Bulletin number 13370A states this exact problem. This vehicle was produced in a Canadian plant therefore fell through the cracks in there recall/bulletin . This is a safety problem that I cannot get repaired under warranty or anything. This vehicle is prone to start on fire that’s why they issued the bulletin but since it was Canada born they really do not want to help me and say it isn’t on their recall list even though it is the EXACT problem they list . And since it isn’t on their recall list they won’t even look at the bulletin to see about goodwill warranty either to cover the repair. Why is this vehicle with the same year and same make and same engine excluded , because it’s made in Canada it doesn’t make the list of recalls in the GM world.
Driving home 2 blocks from my house when truck stalled completely no power would not start total black out. Resembles recall campaign number14V614000.
The air conditioner condenser has a small leak causing the refrigerant to leak out. This is a known problem with all gm Silverado 2014-2017 and a recall needs to be issued. They are all leaking in the same place due to a faulty weld from the factory.
The bus is always parked on the road, my phone slid off the console, when I reached for it, I accidentally moved the truck to the right, and before I hit the bus, I did not have enough time to correct my mistake. I have forgotten everything that occurred from Saturday the 18th up until Friday the 24th. I kept massive migraines the entire week. Now I just have some headaches. The part that scared me the most, is when I realized, not one single air bag deployed. I personally, am so thankful I was able walk away from it. I will never buy another Chevy Silverado.

Driving in Tucumcari New Mexico coming up on a green light that turned from green to yellow to red. I pressed the brake pedal instead of the brakes doing their job in slowing down to come to a stop. The pedal pushed against my pressure a did not allow me to stop or slow down in anyway. Upon this brake failure it made me run the red light an t bone another car in the intersection. This brake failure has cost me my only transportation to work, which is in Reno, Nevada. Now GM has never reached out to speak with me about getting the issue resolved before this accident. Dealership never reached out to me or informed me of any recalls prior to the accident or when I made the purchase in 2024. No warning lights no indicators or on my dash to inform of any problems

When at red lights, or in traffic, when you release the brake pedal to inch farther, and re-apply the brakes they go straight to the floor and you have to basically stand up on the brake pedal to finally stop. The truck slides and makes noises as it comes to stop. I was told these trucks in 2014 have a bad issue with the vacuum pump for the brakes.

Vehicle is experiencing intermittent electrical issues, including vehicle completely shutting off while driving, driver window security warning message appears, radio, outside temp and fuel economy will reset when starting the truck. Last time it shut down while coming to a stop, a message appeared on the driver information screen saying “3 key programmed to vehicle”. Sometimes before it shuts down while driving, the radio and dash lights go out followed by engine stalling and there are different messages that appear briefly, like, service stabilitrac, roll driver window down & 3 keys programmed. The truck has shut down on me while operating 7 times in the last 3 months! This is EXTREMELY dangerous as i lose power steering & brakes! It has happened while in the middle of a busy intersection, in a round about, pulling into a parking spot, driveway and while driving straight on a road. I have cleaned & checked all ground locations, replaced the battery and alternator, cleaned battery terminals and Cables, checked all the fuses and nothing has made it stop!

Power steering on vehicle intermittently stops working. Vehicle becomes difficult to steer at low speeds. Even when Vehicle is moving turning is extremely challenging.

Electric power steering failure due to tie rod bellows failure, this is an incredibly dangerous and irresponsible engineering design, moisture entered the electric motor causing it to fail, my wife's failed at highway speeds and almost caused a wreck, she could have been killed, if I could afford to sue I would, our other vehicle is down and we are forced to drive this dangerous vehicle putting us and others in harms way, this is terrible and absurd.
Recall 19V-645 / N192268490 was performed on my 2014 Chevy Silverado, prior to me purchasing the vehicle a month ago. A computer adjustment was completed in 2019. The vehicle has brake problems, ie: vehicle will ease forward with brakes applied or while stopped. Upon re-applying brakes I have a HARD brake pedal. Dealer stated that recall was completed and I will have to pay to get vehicle fixed. The problem I am experiencing with this vehicle is the same problem that was addressed in the original recall. Computer adjustment did not fix the problem and a new vacuum pump should be installed on the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a local GM dealer on 15 September 2025. . If problem is not addressed properly, the vehicle brakes would/could cause an accident, at low speeds or move forward while vehicle is stopped. With vehicle in reverse, braking is harder than in forward causing potential accident.
Brake pedal gets hard and brakes become inoperative
When my speed decreases to slow for a turn, traffic, red light,etc-I lose complete power in my entire vehicle. A too fast message pops up on dash about Stabilitrak. If I throw it in neutral fast enough it’s fine, but if I don’t, my truck loses all power and I have to open and close my door, restart my truck, the dash tells me to open and close my driver window, and it drives again but my time and date restarts on my dash screen like I disconnected the battery. It doesn’t happen every day. But when it does, it’s scary because I can’t get out of the road. This occurs unexpectedly several times a month for the past few months. I’ve checked for loose battery cables, etc

The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 127,000.
