My 2019 Kia Soul has been professionally diagnosed with DTC B162000, “Internal Fault – Replace SRSCM,” involving the Supplemental Restraint System/Airbag Control Module. My repair shop documented this diagnosis on August 24, 2026. Kia Safety Recall SC226 / NHTSA Recall 22V-031 addresses an Air
... bag Control Unit defect in certain 2017-2019 Kia Souls and specifically addresses vehicles exhibiting DTC B1620. However, I have been informed that my VIN is not included in the recall and the recall repair is therefore unavailable for my vehicle. I am concerned that my vehicle may have the same safety defect despite being excluded from the recall population. The airbag system is safety-critical, and I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether the affected population should include additional 2019 Kia Soul vehicles.Read more

A front wheel of this vehicle and/or its suspension is undergoing extremely dangerous vibrations at highway speeds (65-70+ mph). It is enough to shake the entire vehicle multiple times per second. The local service center, without looking at the vehicle, stated it "would be fine to drive on until yo
... ur appointment" and scheduled an appointment nearly a month out into the future after I brought up concerns that the vehicle is unsafe to drive. They also would not recommend any third party service centers to look at the vehicle in order to address the concern more urgently, nor offered any alternatives such as rentals or loaner vehicles to use in the meantime. I understand that car issues will come up; my complaint is due to how it is being handled (long wait time for an appointment, dismissal over safety concerns, no alternatives to drive safely in the near month-long wait for the appointment).Read more

On June 11, 2026, my 2025 Honda Prologue displayed a High Voltage System Alert immediately after I attempted to charge the vehicle. The vehicle would not accept a charge and became inoperable. I brought it to the dealership the same day, and the vehicle has remained there since. The dealership firs
... t replaced the charging port, but the vehicle still would not charge. On June 24, 2026, the dealership informed me that the transmission lines from the charging port to the battery needed to be replaced. Since that date, I have not received any updates, repair timeline, or confirmation that the issue is being addressed. The vehicle is currently unusable and cannot be charged. The high‑voltage alert indicates a potential electrical system failure involving the charging system and high‑voltage components, which may pose a safety risk. The defect has left the vehicle inoperable for over a month with no resolution.Read more

While braking in slow traffic at about 11-15 mph, the vehicle hit a pothole/road irregularity and the ABS appeared to activate. The brake pedal vibrated, but the steering wheel also began shaking rapidly left and right. Braking effectiveness was greatly reduced. Even with firm brake pressure, the v
... ehicle did not slow as expected and continued toward stopped traffic ahead. The brake pedal pushed back against my foot. I tried to steer around the vehicle in front of me, but the steering wheel vibration interfered with my steering input and made the vehicle difficult to control. A rear-end collision was avoided only after I shifted the transmission into Park, which brought the vehicle to a stop. All driver assistance systems were off, including adaptive cruise, lane keeping, highway driving assist, and steering assist. This occurred during normal low-speed braking, not aggressive or high-speed driving. I have had similar but less severe ABS behavior before when braking over potholes, bridge joints, or rough pavement, with excessive ABS activation and reduced braking performance. Dashcam footage is available showing the pothole/road irregularity, vehicle speed, steering/hand vibration, my avoidance attempt, and the near-collision. This appears to involve unexpected ABS activation, reduced braking effectiveness, and steering interference during routine low-speed braking, creating a serious safety hazard.Read more

I am submitting this complaint regarding a persistent and unresolved issue with the left front axle of my 2022 Jeep Cherokee X, which has been present since the day I purchased the vehicle new. Shortly after purchase, I brought the vehicle to the dealership due to a noticeable clicking sound coming
... from the front end. The dealer retained the vehicle for several days but stated they were unable to identify the source of the noise, although they indicated that a repair had been performed. Immediately upon leaving the dealership, the clicking sound was still present. I returned the vehicle, at which point it remained in their possession for approximately one week. During that visit, components in the left front end were replaced. Approximately one year later, while pulling out of a driveway under normal driving conditions, the left axle failed completely. The vehicle had to be towed back to the dealership, where it remained for another week. I was informed that the CV joint had been replaced. Now, roughly one year after that repair, I brought the vehicle in for a routine oil change. During this visit, the service manager showed me that grease is actively leaking from the same left front axle. I am also once again hearing the same clicking noise that initially prompted my first visit. This vehicle has low mileage, is driven approximately six miles per day, and is used primarily for local driving. It has never been used off-road and has not been subjected to any abnormal driving conditions or impacts. Given the repeated failures involving the same component, despite prior repairs, I am concerned about the safety and reliability of this vehicle. Additionally, this ongoing issue has significantly diminished the vehicle’s value, making it difficult to sell. I am extremely disappointed that a vehicle of this age and usage history continues to experience recurring axle failures without a lasting resolution.Read more

My 2019 Honda Civic has experienced repeated air conditioning system failures over multiple years. The failures include confirmed refrigerant leaks, condenser replacement, and evaporator replacement. The system has again failed due to a refrigerant leak traced to the evaporator. This vehicle has a d
... ocumented history of recurring A/C system issues, including abnormal pressure conditions and repeated refrigerant loss. Honda has acknowledged defects within this system by extending warranty coverage for certain components, including the compressor. Despite this, the system continues to fail, requiring multiple major component replacements. Loss of air conditioning in high-temperature conditions presents a safety concern, particularly during extreme heat, as it can affect driver alertness, passenger safety, and overall vehicle usability. This appears to be a systemic defect involving the A/C system rather than isolated component failures.Read more

Roof rail on passenger side flew off. Clips were broken but some clips still in place. This part is in a recall for other 2016 Explorers but was excluded on models with the chrome roof rail. The rail is the same plastic as the recalled vehicles and should have been included. See Ford 21S22 / 20

AFTER ABOUT 10 MONTHS AFTER BUYING THIS HYBRID TRUCK, THE 12V BATTERY WAS NOT HOLDING A CHARGE. I STARTED TO RECEIVE EMAILS ON MY PHONE FROM THE TRUCK STATING IT WAS GOING INTO "SLEEP MODE" AND TO DRIVE THE TRUCK TO MAINTAIN THE CHARGE. I DID THIS FOR 45 MINUTES AT 60 MPH. IT APEARED TO CHARGE BUT
... DID NOT LAST MORE THAN A COUPLE OF DAYS. I DROVE THE TRUCK FROM SOUTH CAROLINA TO OHIO. I WAS IN OHIO FOR 10 DAYS AND DROVE ABOUT 750 MILES AND THEN BACK TO SC WITH NO PROBLEMS. HOWEVER, AFTER 4 WEEKS, I STARTED GETTING THE SAME EMAILS. I AGAIN DROVE ABOUT 45 MINUTES AT 60 MPH. THIS TIME IT DID NOT CHARGE. I RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET, AND FOUND MANY OWNERS OF THIS TRUCK WERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. I TOOK THIS TRUCK TO A LOCAL FORD DEALER AND EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM OF THE BATTERY WAS NOT HOLDING A CHARGE. HE STATED THAT IT WAS A BAD BATTERY AND REPLACED IT (01-19-2026). HOWEVER, THE WORK ORDER STATED THAT THE TRUCK WAS "SLOW TO START" - - - NOT THAT THE BATTERY WAS NOT CHARGING. I DID NOT QUESTION HIM, BECAUSE I WAS HAPPY TO GET A NEW BATTERY TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. LATER, I BECAME CONCERNED THAT THE PROBLEM MAY NOT ACTULLY BE FIXED. MY CONCERNS: 1) WHY THE WORK ORDER DID NOT EXPRESS THE PROBLEM; 2) IS THIS GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN AND LEAVE ME STRANDED; 3) WHY ARE SO MANY OTHER OWNERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM.Read more

In 2019, I purchased a Jaguar Land Rover vehicle. Over the past four to five years, the Y-pipe for the coolant system has repeatedly cracked and broken after being replaced by the Jaguar dealership. This is a significant safety concern that leads to coolant leakage, triggering a warning light and ca
... using panic to remove the vehicle from the road to prevent overheating, head gasket failure, or potential fire. The Y-pipe is not available upon request, and I was informed that it is made of plastic. Because it goes from hot to cold, it will always be a recurring problem as long as it is manufactured as a plastic component. Another year passed, and the problem reoccurred. The dealership informed me that they are now replacing the Y-pipe with a metal version, but only for the current third iteration. With many YouTube videos and Google searches online from hundreds of people with the same problem, I am shocked that a recall has not been issued yet. This part is clearly defective and should be added to the recall list immediately.Read more

I purchased a 2017 F150 in March of 25’. Miraculously no issue started until approx 4000 miles after the purchase. The dealer warranty was good for 3500. In the months that preceded issue after issue began to arise. First and least important in my personal opinion. I get in my truck to head to wor
... k and my sliding back glass is laying in backseat, completely intact with the track it slides on. One would initially think the GA sun maybe warmed the adhesive to such a Temp that it came loose but my truck is parked in the shade every day at work & at home. Insurance won’t cover it because they say it’s on Ford. Next I have lost power steering, when loosing it i have apparently lost all of steering, uphill downhill assistance an approx 10 other warnings that come every time i crank it. I have been driving the truck 7 months now with no power steering. Lastly and most important, the 10 speed transmission is completely faulty. The problems with it started in July. When accelerating from a stand still, like pulling on the road or highway, over 50% of the time the transmission just fails and you are a sitting duck for any oncoming traffic. Typically 2-4 secs later, the truck will catch of sudden with such a jerk it will give you whiplash. So once you made it through getting on the highway without dying, every shift of the transmission from 4th to 10th, the truck shutters and shakes so bad it seems like it will fall apart. The engine light will start flashing and you can’t go faster than 40-45 for about 15 secs until the engine light is solid again. Then while shuttering you can’t attempt to increase speed. I contacted Ford, I was completely blown off, they denied that 2017 f150 have any transmission issues. I’m forced to drive this daily because I spent all my savings on this truck. Oil change, along with oil filter have been kept up every 5,000 mi. I out everything into this truck and now I have a duct tape back window, no power steering and a transmission faulty.Read more

Despite proper maintenance at a Honda dealership, I was informed of internal engine sludge. Honda regional representatives and mechanics provided no meaningful analysis or assistance and defaulted to denying support without adequately addressing the root cause. Car was shaking over anytime went over 70miles an hour. Would not stay in lane . Steering dampener was replaced . Car continues to do this when I hit a bump. I’ve taken it back two more times, the dealer says they cannot duplicate the problem and therefore cannot fix it . It pulls completely to th
... e other side and snaps back . They said it’s because the back is heavier than the front . They claim my tires are ok and everything looks good . It does not feel good and it does not feel like it did when I purchase the car . I drive it every day and my passengers have also noticed the problem . I am getting close to the end of my warranty and I have a feeling the dealer is going to let it run out and then tell me they found the problem .Read more

On [XXX]., in heavy rush‑hour traffic on [XXX] , my vehicle (~75,417 mi) suddenly lost motive power w/o warning at ~55 mph. It became immobile in a live lane, creating a roadblock and rear‑end crash risk. Drivers swerved/honked. Accelerator had no effect; limited/no power‑steering assist; I co
... asted to an in‑lane stop (no safe shoulder) and activated hazards. Cluster displayed “SHIFT SYS FAULT—Service Required” and wrench icon. Attempts to restart failed; the vehicle remained disabled ~30min until a tow arrived; police responded. After tow, on a slight incline, the vehicle rolled backward when started and the parking brake was released, though the cluster showed Park—clear rollaway concern. Recovery/diagnosis: Towed first to AutoTech Clinic (advised replacement trans). Then to Bill Brown Ford (Livonia, MI): fractured planetary gear and broken park pawl; recommended full transmission replacement (~$8,500). Repair history (pre‑purchase): I’ve owned the car <6 mos (now ~75k). A Ford dealer later informed me the vehicle previously had major work at Taylor Ford of MI: trans‑cooler plumbing cracks between cooler and trans lines at ~34k, and major internal trans repair at ~46k (“burnt clutch A; full reassembly”). None of this appeared on CARFAX or was disclosed by the selling dealer. Costs/downtime: ~$700 towing/diagnostics to date; trans replacement quoted ~$8,500. Mfr/dealer response: Reported to Ford on 10/13/2025, case [XXX]. Initial response: no assistance; pending. The Ford 10R60 has multiple TSBs for trans issues, but neither the dealer nor CSR cited any, and no assistance has been offered. Maintenance/mods: Vehicle stock; maintained per mfr schedule. Safety concern: Sudden loss of propulsion in traffic + inability to move to safety, combined with a Park indication that allows rollback, present significant crash/rollaway hazards. Please investigate and, if warranted, require a recall. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Every so often I get an indication of engine power reduced, but every time I go in to get it checked it's off. I have recently just learned through research online that the issue is caused by a certain condition that gives false reading to the electronics. I have contacted GM and GM financial about
... the recalls on my cars of the same year. I have not been in a wreck but I have had the issue of engine reduced power in the middle of traffic. Cox Chevrolet in Bradenton has turn me away about the issue GM financial is giving me the runaround neither one mention anything about a recall instead I get a estimate $400 /$808.50/1900.41 all to fix ECM as I told the mechanic I was driving with no problem through the day me and the kids at the park when it was time to leave the car sounded like it just didn't have no gas. We was stuck tell 10:45 we waited two hours for the tow truck. I have OnStar and get monthly reports on my car. When the check engine light comes on OnStar has no indication that's why I believe it is the same ECM. I was told by Chevrolet Maher service manager of St Pete to get my car off their lot as I said before I got a estimate of 400 that went up to 800 and all I did was ask whyRead more

Honda Odyssey Idle Stop system failure Vehicle: 2020 Honda Odyssey (Elite) Incident description: While driving, the vehicle's "Idle Stop" system engaged as I came to a complete stop at [e.g., a traffic light, intersection, stop sign]. The engine shut off as designed, but failed to restart automatic
... ally when I released the brake pedal. This left my vehicle stalled and disabled in the middle of [e.g., an intersection, a lane of traffic] with no forward power. I was scared as there were lots of cars behind me in the intersection. This has happened over a dozen times. Safety risk: This failure created an immediate and dangerous safety hazard. My vehicle was a risk for being rear-ended by traffic from behind, and my family was stranded in a vulnerable position. The vehicle was unable to move out of harm's way, and I had to put the vehicle in park and manually restart the engine. This is unacceptable for a system designed to work seamlessly and automatically. Additional information: This is not an isolated incident. The auto start-stop failure has occurred multiple times since March 2025. The system failure has put me and my passengers in a position of significant risk multiple times. Failed component: The vehicle's "Auto Idle Stop" (AIS) system, which failed to restart the engine after it was automatically shut off. Resolution: An immediate and permanent recall is necessary to address this dangerous defect. Existing service bulletins have not corrected the problem. I urge the NHTSA to require Honda to provide an effective, long-term solution to ensure the safety of Odyssey owners.Read more

2018 Mazda CX-5, 2.5L Naturally Aspirated Engine The vehicle has been diagnosed with a leak from the cylinder head cover, resulting in engine oil dripping directly onto the exhaust manifold. This issue causes noticeable smoke and a strong burning oil odor inside the cabin while the engine is running
... . This defect presents multiple serious safety concerns: 1) Health hazard due to prolonged exposure to burning oil fumes inside the vehicle. 2) Fire risk from oil contacting hot engine components. 3) Potential engine failure, which could lead to vehicle stalling or loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash and possible loss of life. Mazda issued Technical Service Bulletin TSB #SA-031-21, which introduced a redesigned cylinder head for 2018–2019 CX-5 models. The release of this TSB indicates Mazda’s awareness of the underlying design flaw. There is substantial evidence, including numerous owner reports, that this is a widespread issue affecting these model years. The defect is not related to vehicle mileage or user negligence. Mazda should be held fully accountable and take corrective action by issuing a formal safety recall or offering an extended warranty to affected owners. Immediate attention to this matter is necessary to protect consumer safety and prevent future incidents.Read more

While driving, my 2012 Ford Explorer displayed a “Service Power Steering Now” warning message, and the steering wheel completely locked, making the vehicle impossible to steer safely. This happened without warning and rendered the car undrivable, creating an immediate safety hazard. This issue m
... atches the conditions described in Ford Safety Recall 14S06 (NHTSA Campaign 14V286000) and Customer Satisfaction Program 15N01, both addressing Electric Power Steering (EPAS) system failures in 2011–2013 Explorers. Ford’s Defect Information Report to NHTSA (PE12-017) states that intermittent electrical connections in the steering gear’s motor position sensor can cause a total loss of power steering assist exactly what occurred in my vehicle. Despite this, Ford and the dealership (Tommie Vaughn Ford, Houston TX) have stated that my VIN is “expired” for program 15N01 and refused assistance. However, the failure mode and symptoms are identical to those covered by these safety campaigns. My Explorer was manufactured in December 2011, which falls directly in the affected build range. The Carfax report for my vehicle even lists program 15N01 EPAS Steering Efforts as an associated service campaign. This is a critical safety issue, and Ford’s refusal to assist due to expired coverage should not override the need to correct a known steering defect. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether Ford’s current handling of EPAS steering failures is sufficient, and whether Customer Satisfaction Program 15N01 should be reopened or extended to cover affected vehicles like mine that are experiencing the same safety defect.Read more
