The vehicle is a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. It had previously been included in an engine-fire-related recall/service campaign, and Hyundai replaced the engine between approximately October 2024 and January 2025 at about 113,000 miles. About 10,000 miles and 14 months later, the vehicle developed e

A Hyundai dealership service center performed about $6,500 in repairs, including installation of a new transmission, and represented that the engine and transmission had a lifetime guarantee. One day after the vehicle was returned from the dealership, the engine compartment caught fire while the vehicle was being driven. The fire rapidly escalated, the vehicle exploded/burned, and the vehicle was destroyed down to the frame. The occupants escaped, but the incident created an immediate risk of serious injury or death. The failed component appears to involve the engine, engine compartment, fuel/oil/electrical systems, transmission-related repair area, or another drivetrain component. The vehicle remains may be available for inspection depending on insurance/tow/storage status. The vehicle had recently been repaired and inspected by a Hyundai dealership service center. This incident raises concern that the recall-related engine-fire risk, replacement engine, recent dealership repairs, transmission installation, or related components may have failed and created a serious fire hazard.Read more

At the time of the incident, the transmission fluid had not yet been replaced but had recently been recommended during a scheduled service visit. ... dealer in Fremont (mb of fremont) a service advisor checked the car and drove it for a while (Joe Defraeitas) they were not able to find any issue and sent us back. asking us to bring it back if it happens again. my speed was between 30-40mph. I don't remember if there was lights flashing warning or not. all I remember it suddenly halted and stopped and I was really scrared. 2. March 17th at a very close time to ~2:00PM at exactly same place this issue happened again, this time I was with my daughter [XXX] ) and same exact thing happened; luckily no cars were behind me at that time again, same as before speed 30-40mph and no warning lights that I remember. this time we took the car to service dealership on March 20th and they asked us to schedule an appoint and we did bring it back on march 26th. The RO# from mboffremont is XXX; again same advisor. they claimed they checked all the software and sensors and nothing wrong with the car. 3. Third incident on Apr 7th at ~12:00 on [XXX] [XXX] by the railroads crossing as well, luckily no cars were behind me and speed was 20-30mph this time is didn't do full stop. On March 9, 2026, I brought my vehicle to a Kia dealership in Alexandria, Virginia after experiencing a loud thump noise from the rear of the vehicle while stopped at a red light. (3/08/2026) Immediately following the incident, I smelled gasoline, noticed a significant drop in fuel economy, and hea
... rd persistent road noise as if a window were open. I explained these concerns in detail to the service advisor and specifically stated my belief that the fuel tank may have expanded. I was informed that this was not related to any recall. After approximately two hours, my vehicle was returned to me without resolution. The symptoms persisted, including the smell of gasoline, which poses a clear safety risk. A few days later, I took my vehicle to a second Kia dealership for further inspection related to Recall SC356. At that time, I was informed that my initial concern was correct—the fuel tank had in fact expanded. I was initially told the repair would take 3–4 days due to parts ordering. However, I was subsequently contacted and instructed not to retrieve my vehicle, as Kia is now pursuing a buyback. While I understand the seriousness of the issue, I am currently without a vehicle, and I have not been provided with a rental or loaner. Given that this issue is tied to a safety-related recall and that my vehicle is unsafe to operate due to the presence of fuel odor, this situation is both unreasonable and unacceptable. They have yet to send me any reports from the second Kia dealership in which I had taken it on 3/14/2026 I was only told over the phone via a service advisor named India that I was correct in suspecting the fuel tank had expanded causing the gasoline fumes and road noiseRead more

Hello - On [XXX], while travelling to visit family for the Christmas Holiday, a warning about a transmission system error came on. We pulled over, check fluids, looked the vehicle over, added approved coolant which appeared a little low. When we started our van, all the lights were off, and we we
... re able to reach our destination without incident. On [XXX], all fluids were checked prior to leaving to return home and we began our journey home. About 20 minutes out from our destination, our transmission warning light came on once again. We were able to make it home. We contacted the dealership and dropped it off immediately on Monday morning only to find out that the transmission needed to be completely replaced. We obtained a second opinion with a local transmission shop who then proceeded to tell us that this was a known issue with this year of Honda Transmissions and that there are some well documented issues with this particular transmission and that this was unfortunately not the first case they had seen. We purchased our 2019 Honda Odyssey from O'Daniel Honda in Omaha, Nebraska through the Costco Auto Program in August 2019. We have regularly maintenance done on this vehicle as recommended at another local dealership closer to our home. At present time, my [XXX] Honda Odyssey with barely 100,000 miles on it now sits in a transmission shop awaiting a full transmission replacement. We bought this vehicle in the security and knowledge that it would be a solid, reliable vehicle for our growing family at the time with the reputation for exceeding 250,000 miles when properly maintained. For this transmission issue to be so well documented and known and for Honda to completely turn a blind eye to this and not stand behind their workmanship is absolutely appalling. Then they did that and it did not fix the issue. So they determined it was the rear differential that needed to be replaced. We got the car back after another 2 weeks and it was fine for about 2 weeks. Incident date: Oct 28, 2025
The rear lightbar assembly on our 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat has developed micro-cracks in the outer lens, allowing moisture to accumulate inside. This has caused flickering or inoperative reverse lamps and now appears to be impacting the rear passenger blinker, which functions intermittently.
... We are concerned that the moisture has begun to corrode the rear wiring harness or electrical system, creating additional safety risks. When we reported the issue, a Kendall Ford representative told us the rear lightbar replacement was “mainly cosmetic,” but that assessment contradicts both Ford’s recall documentation and our experience. Moisture intrusion has already led to intermittent lighting failures that reduce signaling visibility to other drivers, posing a real risk of collision. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer and a Ford Field Service Engineer dispatched from Dearborn, who inspected the truck in 2025 after the same recall repair (23S30) failed. Ford has since issued a new recall (25V731 / 25S86) acknowledging improper dealer repairs as the cause. Visible condensation, flickering lights, and intermittent “charging system fault” and “sensor unavailable” messages began shortly after the 2023 recall repair and have continued to worsen. The vehicle remains in our possession and is available for inspection by NHTSA or Ford corporate upon request.Read more

... should have been fixed the first time with the recall link Ford spent 5 minutes going through my car and said that my car didn't qualify for any recall because my car is a front wheel drive and not an all-wheel drive so they did not do the recall now after bringing it to another shop I have the estimate of what it would cost to fix that needs to be done it is an emergency because when I hit a pothole I go in the ditch my friend and his smashed because I can't control my car my steering freezes while driving down the highway and this all has something to do with the rear suspension five Star automotive wrote down everything that needs to be replaced this is a hazard to be on the road, if I could afford another car I would have one I keep sinking money into this one, because of Link Ford and their mistake me and my car should not have to suffer for it or anyone else on the road because this is a hazard my car is going to kill someone if I would have had the recall replaced, I wouldn't have had to spend an additional $1,400 on parts and labor that never even got put in because they can't put them in until this is repaired I can't even get a front end alignment because of this the entire rear suspension is sagging to the ground and my tires tilt in about 42°. I have the printout from both Link Ford in mining and 5 star automotive in Superior WI because of the 22 times I've gone in the ditch due to my suspension and steering locking up I have a short in the ground wire somewhere that is now fried my ECU so when I put it in a $90 boot every time it lights on fire within 30 seconds I'm in closing that picture as well of the one I just put in little over an hour ago.Read more

I own a 2018 Lexus NX F Sport and have had repeated fuel pump failures since purchasing the vehicle in October 2022. We have replaced the fuel pump twice — once at the dealership where we bought it and again less than a year ago. Despite these repairs, the same issue continues to occur. There wer
... e no warning lights before the failure, but once it happens, the check engine light turns on, the traction control light comes on, and the vehicle goes into limp mode. When this happens, the car will not accelerate when pressing the gas pedal. It slows down rapidly and eventually stalls completely. This has happened multiple times, including once in the middle of Dallas traffic and another time while driving to Midland, TX. Each time, my children were in the car with me, putting all of us at serious risk. I have read about the Lexus fuel pump recall affecting similar models and years, and my vehicle is showing the exact same symptoms, yet my VIN is not included in that recall. I believe my vehicle should be reviewed for inclusion in the existing Lexus fuel pump recall, as this ongoing defect poses a major safety hazard to me and others on the road. Recall number: 20LA01 for Lexus (low-pressure fuel pump) — for certain 2018–2019 Nexuses and other Lexus models. Description: “Low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail. If it fails, warning lights and messages may display and the engine may stall while driving.” Additional support: 23LE01 (a Customer Support Program, not a direct recall) covers certain model years with low-pressure fuel pump defects, repairing under this program until July 15 2036 or 150 k miles. I believe my vehicle may fall under recall 20LA01 (Lexus low-pressure fuel pump) or the subsequent support program 23LE01, because the symptoms and repeated fuel pump failures match exactly, yet my VIN returns no open recall. My car currently has 144,400 miles on it. I’d like to get it fixed as swiftly as possible. Diagnostic tests are too costly.Read more

Travel Assist is disabled which includes Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist. The warning lights flash on and off, sometimes multiple times a second, sounding a loud beeping each time. It is triggered at engine start and persists through all speeds. I have experienced it 0-70 mph. The flash
... ing lights and associated rapid beeping indicating the failure is extremely distracting while driving. Warning lights and warning sounds are designed to alert the driver to a potential safety issue so ignoring the lights and sounds is dangerous in the event it is a different caution/warning. However, also not ignoring it is dangerous because of the frequency of the warnings which causes the driver to look away from the road. This happens at any and all speeds. From what I've heard this is a widely known problem that is remedied only with the replacement of the steering wheel. My steering wheel was already replaced once for a different issue. There are several other sensors that are triggered by the same issue I was told by the maintenance department. They are uncertain at this time if it impacts the airbag system which is another potential safety concern.Read more

Was driving on the freeway, with no cars in front of me when my sunroof exploded outward. There was no debris that hit my car, just a loud explosion. I was driving with my wife, 4 kids and mother, all of whom can attest to the lack of debris coming from the road.
