The airbags did not deploy when I was involved in an accident on the freeway July 2025. During the collision, there was a message on the driver dashboard that read "SRS Airbag System Malfunction Visit Your Dealer". When I took my Highlander into the collision autobody shop, they notified me that my
... car had an open recall and that I needed to get in touch with manufacturer or schedule an appointment with a local Toyota dealership to see if they could remedy the recall as soon as possible. When I called Toyota, they confirmed that there was a recall on the Highlander's that opened in 2023 and that there was supposed to be a remedy in 2024, but unfortunately there is still no remedy available. They let me know that I would not be able to bring the vehicle in for service and that the collision center would not be able to remedy the situation on Toyota's behalf. This safety issue put myself and my family that includes multiple children that were in the vehicle at the time of the accident, in a very unsettling situation. We were afraid to drive the car any further than 5 miles or on the freeway, wondering if the airbags would deploy at any minute. There was little to no information provided whether the airbags were in fact supposed to deploy upon impact compared to if it was just a sensor mishap. There were no prior warnings, message, symptoms or mailers sent out notifying us that there were any recalls on the car.Read more

I purchased this vehicle is certified preowned Cadillac and during the warranty time I had a transmission issue that was causing the transmission to jerk when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear and at highway speeds, it would start jerking nonstop. I took it to the dealer and as per a service bulletin, t
... hey flushed the transmission fluid and replaced the transmission fluid. This was only a temporary fix because 30,000 miles later the same issues started occurring again and have gotten worse to the point that you can smell the transmission clutches burning and the transmission overheating, possibly causing the number four piston rings to come apart, resulting in an engine replacement as well. I’ve had to replace engine as possible result, but the transmission problem is still there and it has also caused the check engine light to come on intermediately. This could result in a complete transmission failure, causing a vehicle to lose propulsion leading to a possible accident and injuries. This issue needs to be investigated and repairs or replacement made at the manufacturers expense.. This is a four-cylinder turbo engine and an eight speed automatic transmission. In my opinion, the transmission issue caused my engine failure. There should be investigated and an immediate recall issued.Read more

A few months ago, while at a stop light my car would not acceleration, I depressed the pedal all the way to the floor and there was no movement but rpm’s went up to 4000. I was almost rear ended as I was attempting to go. The car suddenly accelerated at a high rate of speed and drove normal. This
... occurrence happened intermittently a couple times, and is really dangerous while making left hand turns and almost being hit in the intersection. I took it to a shop to get a diagnostic but the mechanic said that since there was no check engine light or codes he’d “just be guessing.” I have been driving the car for sometime now without any issues. Last week I went an hour out of town and my car suddenly loss power on the highway while going 70 mph. It decelerated to 40 mph and would not go faster. I had to pull off the highway crossing 3 lanes of traffic barely going 40 mph. When I got to the shoulder, I turned my car off and waited a few minutes before turning it back on and the car drove fine for maybe 10 miles before it lost power again. I noticed a loud whining noise while accelerating and a smell of transmission fluid. It took me 2 hours to get home being I had to continue to pull over every 5-10 miles which seemed to reset the transmission. I had it towed to a different repair shop the next day and once again no check engine light, no codes and the car had not shown any reported symptoms, so the mechanics hands where tied but he did say that the CVT transmission in Nissan Altimas have been a major issue and of it is indeed the transmission it would cost 3k-6k for repairs. If this is truly an issue with Nissan’s CTV transmissions then there needs to be a recall and the repair should be covered. The sudden failure of engine mechanics is a safety risk for all drivers and needs to be investigated before Nissan is hit with a wrongful death suit.Read more

I purchased my truck in March of 2024 with an undisclosed problem from a dealership in Texas. I contacted them two weeks after it began and they said they couldn't do anything as is the greatest business disappointment of American commerce when used vehicles are purchased under the "As Is" clause. T
... he undisclosed problem is this, my truck loses acceleration power for up to 20 seconds in dangerous situations when I attempt to increase speed from a stop or slower speeds and the truck doesn't shift to accelerate to reasonable speeds. This situation happens each time I drive this truck. The scarier situations happen when changing lanes, turning left, or right, or making U-turns. Each of these conditions threatens safety every time this happens, but more so when there is fast-moving traffic coming behind after changing lanes or if on-coming traffic approaches my now power-less truck when making a left/u-turn. My local dealership shop found the CBF drum in the transmission to be faulty causing internal leaks which fail to engage the gearing system. The repair cost to make my truck safe again is over $7.2k. If this truly is a safety failure problem, I request NHTSA for payment to my dealer or reimbursement, please.Read more

My 2023 Fisker Ocean One (VIN [XXX] ) was in the first cohort of cars to receive the Ocean OS 2.2 update during the 24 hour period starting on [XXX]. The update seemed to have completed successfully, but six days afterwards on [XXX], I stopped for lunch after driving a few errands that morning, and
... afterwards I came out to my car, opened it, then stepped on the brake pedal to start up the car -- upon doing so, I noticed that the three screens in the car that control its operation -- the driver's display (above steering column), the 17" infotainment display, and the HVAC "button bar" control display were all black (not illuminated) despite the car being powered on. In this state, the car could not be shifted out of park into drive. All of the other lights in the car that should have illuminated were illuminated, so I know the car had power, and I had charged up the high voltage battery to 80% SOC the night before. I tried several times over the course of the next few hours to get the car to work, but each time, the three screens in the car remained black and not showing anything. In the end, I had the car towed back to my home, so at least I could charge the high voltage battery and put the 12v battery on a tender (as required). From this first incident of "black screens on startup" on [XXX], each day afterward, I would test the car to see if it would start up correctly -- on some days it would start up with all 3 displays booting up into a functional state, on other days, I would again experience the "black screens at startup" and would be unable to drive the car. Only the Carplay screen I added to the car would be illuminated (shown in photo attached). I contacted Fisker-trained technicians who diagnosed the ICC as having been compromised during the OTA update. I found a salvaged ICC from another Ocean on eBay, purchased it, then paid to have it installed into my car and programmed to match it to my VIN number. I ended up taking it to another dealership in 2023 (Oxmoor Ford) where they heard it and diagnosed it as my rear differential and after they had my car for 3+ weeks I was told there wasn't a fix and they would just change out the fluid and replace it with new fluid and would let me know when there was a fix. In October 2024 I call and ask about this fix because I never heard anything else from them and they have me bring it in just to reset the modules. I WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP & IT WAS PLAYING WHEN I GOT THERE. WHILE WE WERE DISCUSSING THE ISSUE, THE RADIO WENT OFF. WE WAITED AND IN A COUPLE OF MINUTES IT CAME BACK ON. THEY DIDN'T HAVE A LOANER VEHICLE AVAILABLE SO I HAD TO COME BACK SEVERAL DAYS LATER. I MADE THE TRIP AGAIN AND LEFT MY CAR WITH THEM. WHEN THE RADIO WORKED FINE AGAIN, ONE OF THE SERVICE GUYS WONDERED IF IT MIGHT BE THE BLUETOOTH RELATED. HE LINKED HIS APPLE IPHONE TO MY CAR'S BLUETOOTH & WAITED. THE RADIO WENT OFF & IN A FEW MINUTES CAME BACK ON. HE HAD FOUND THE PROBLEM. HE CALLED GM CORPORATE & THEY CONTACTED APPLE. APPLE IS AWARE THAT THEIR LATEST UPDATE IS CAUSING THIS ISSUE & ARE WORKING ON AN UPDATE TO FIX IT. THIS REVELATION ANSWERED THE ISSUE THAT THIS DEALERSHIP WAS HAVING WITH TWO OTHER VEHICLES IN THEIR SERVICE CENTER THAT HAD A DIFFERENT VERSION OF THE CUE. SO FOR NOW I HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN HAVING GPS & A RADIO OR HAVING MY IPHONE BLUETOOTHED & HANDS FREE. IT IS NOW DECEMBER 2019 AND APPLE HASN'T CORRECTED THE ISSUE. HOW MANY 'HANDS FREE' VIOLATIONS AND ACCIDENTS WILL THERE BE BEFORE THIS GETS FIXED? I REALIZE THIS IS AN APPLE ISSUE RATHER THAN A GM ISSUE BUT I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR 7 MONTHS AGO & THE SAFETY FEATURES, INCLUDING GPS & BLUETOOTH PLAYED A BIG PART IN MY DECISION. I'M REALLY FRUSTRATED IN NOT BEING ABLE TO USE ALL OF FEATURES OF THE CUE SYSTEM. I'M WRITING THIS IN THE HOPE THAT GM WILL PROGRESSIVELY WORK WITH APPLE TO GET THIS RESOLVED.Read more
