In December 2025, I had brake replacement, tire service, and wheel alignment performed at Monro Auto Service located at [XXX] child were traveling on the highway during a winter storm when the brakes began making a loud banging noise. My wife was unable to immediately locate a service location and
... was forced to continue driving for an extended period in winter storm conditions while in fear for her safety and that of our child. When she was finally able to reach a second Monro location between [XXX] and [XXX] , a technician discovered that one brake caliper bolt was missing entirely and a second was dangerously loose. The vehicle had been driven at highway speeds in a winter storm with an improperly and incompletely assembled brake system for an extended distance before help was found. The second Monro location secured the caliper bolt and confirmed the vehicle safe to continue. The original Fairport location was contacted and their manager acknowledged the issue but has failed to provide any meaningful resolution after nearly four months. In a formal BBB complaint response, Monro Inc. confirmed that the caliper bolt had not been properly secured and acknowledged filing an insurance claim for resulting rim damage — an implicit admission of negligence. I am filing this complaint because an improperly assembled brake system — specifically a missing caliper bolt — represents a serious and potentially fatal safety hazard. If this is a pattern of negligence at Monro locations, other consumers may be at risk. BBB Complaint Case #XXX is on file documenting Monro's formal response and admission. DC to DC converter failure that displays a RED warning indicator that says "Stop Safely Electrical Fault Detected" with a red battery indicator symbol displayed simultaneously. I called the dealer as this is the 3rd time I have experienced similar electrical issues that have left me stranded since
... my purchase of this truck new Jan '22. The dealer brushed me off the first time telling me I didn't drive the vehicle enough, 2nd time they replaced the battery, now they said they had a bulletin (1 month prior) from Land Rover of known DC-DC converter failure with no ETA for parts. I was told by the dealer the steering could lock up and/or the vehicle could have brake failure. I had it towed 1 hour to the dealer. There are 10 other vehicle sitting at this one dealer awaiting the same part replacement and they never notified me of this issue when they were aware of the safety concerns a month prior to my 3rd incident. This is a now known nationwide issue with Defenders and I have a claim in for it to be covered under the factory warranty since my factory warranty had just expired 9 days prior especially given my prior record of electrical issues with this particular vehicle. This is still not resolved and it has been at the dealer for 18 days as it is not safe to drive and still awaits a part with no estimated time for repair.Read more

The 8.4 Uconnect radio controls many aspects of the vehicle including hands free communications. When a communication device is paired to the system, at a random time, the device becomes unpaired and hands free communication becomes unusable. Additionally, at a random time, when the steering wheel c
... ommunication button is pressed, the voice prompt announces "SIRI not connected". At that point, hands-free communication is not possible. It should be noted that SIRI is an Apple device feature. I have never used nor connected an Apple device to the system. The radio was dealership replaced in 2021 under partial goodwill coverage and partial cost to me. During my last dealership visit, I noted the issues and asked the service department to check the system software for updates. They verified that the software was already up to date. Additionally which is a minor safety issue, when communication device pairings are lost, other system settings are lost including all of the radio presets. At that point, communication pairings and system settings must be re-done. These issues are noted on several Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, Dodge Ram and Jeep forums. To view the forum posts regarding these issues, Google search using the term "8.4 unconnect problems". Many functions of this vehicle are controlled through the radio head. Random failures of the head including vehicle hands-free communication operation are critical to highway safety.Read more

While driving my 2017 Ford F-350 equipped with the 6R140 transmission, the vehicle experienced a sudden and complete transmission failure due to a valve body malfunction. Without warning, the transmission lost all ability to engage gears, resulting in an immediate loss of power and drivability. This
... failure occurred while the vehicle was in motion, presenting a serious safety risk to both occupants and other motorists — especially in high-speed or high-traffic situations. The risk is further compounded when the vehicle is towing, as it may increase stopping distance, reduce control, and leave the driver stranded in unsafe conditions. This type of failure appears to be part of a broader pattern affecting this transmission platform, which raises significant concerns about its reliability and safe operation under normal usage. There were warning lights or other symptoms prior to the failure. The damage has since been remedied, with an astounding out of pocket cost of $8,300 for a total transmission rebuild.Read more

General Motor's design oversights irreversibly damaged the rear differential carrier of my 2014 Cadillac CTS4 around 75,000 to 80,000 miles. Unfortunately, there is no prior indication of the rear differential carrier assembly leaking fluid or damaging the bearing. Only after the problem occurs, the
... rear differential assembly starts to make a whining sound that can be heard in the cabin of the vehicle. Unfortunately, the whining sound is a clear indicator that the rear differential assembly is damaged irreversibly. The lack of differential fluid in rear differential carrier assembly can lead to a catastrophic failures. The complete failure of the rear differential assembly would result in internal gears seizing up and locking of the rear wheels. Likewise, there is no prior indicators of when the rear wheels will seize up. On highways speeds, this problem can create dangerous and even life threating conditions to the occupants of the vehicle as well as the other motorists sharing the road.Read more
