The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. Delay in acceleration. It is an intermittent issue. Noise when gear is changed. Coming from a stop or slow down, pushing the accelerator pedal slightly, the car does not respond. Pushing the accelerator pedal further down the car jerks(responds), accelerates but faster than needed/desired. The ac
... celerator pedal needs to be released, push the pedal again to increase the speed to as needed/desired. Sometimes this results in a loud boom coming from the engine or transmission as if the gears did not engaged previously, but when pushing the accelerator pedal harder. Having searched the internet several people reported the same/similar symptoms. Some people took the car for check up, but no improvement afterward. My dealer could not help me either but offered to check the car out for $ 200 bucks. No engine light is/comes on. This is an intermittent issue, so duplicating does not seem to work. Having worked in maintenance at OCTA, I recall being told symptoms as the above, resulted in changing shifter or transmission or parts thereof.Read more

My engine began to leak and burned oil to a point where it needed oil changes much frequently than normal. Within 2 months of being made aware of the leak, I began to hear knocking noises. Once I return again to the dealership I was made aware now I needed a new engine. How is it that I've had my ve

What makes matters worse, there is a current recall on my vehicle year and make for the engine but I was told that my engine doesn't fall under this recall. I beg to differ! I am frustrated that I have yet another Hyundai that has failed me and I am stuck without a vehicle.Read more

at 45.000 miles all of my fuel injectors was replaced due to emission system problem appear on my dash board for free. At 97,000 miles we were on vacation in Houston TX, when the same emission system problem pop up on my dash board. I went to Honda dealership for engine diagnosis-"faulty fuel inject
... ors". Sad thing the replacement fuel injectors are back ordered. So we left the vehicle behind in Houston and we went home with a rental car. 2 weeks after Honda informed me the parts have arrived. The vehicle was brought to the dealership and got fixed. we had it transported back here in Chicago. Back here same emission system problem came up. now they reprogram the vehicle computer. after a day they released the vehicle same error came up. now the Honda dealership says that the catalytic converter should be replaced. Parts and labor totals to $3,200.00. That is so upsetting considering the age of the vehicle and mileage. Suppose to get to 200,000 miles. Major defect on the 2016 Honda pilot that needs to be address by Honda of America and investigated by NHTSA.Read more

My particular VIN was not included in the recall but had this check engine warnin

The cost to replace this simple module is mostly labor at 8 hours is around $2,000. I believe this is an emission component and need to be covered under state and federal emission standards warranty. The initial recall with this issue should be involved with same engine and cover all cars and SUV's with same engine. I do believe this is an Emission control device that is regulated by state and federal standards and should be covered under warranty.Read more

September 10, 2022 I was backing out of my driveway, but the car would not slow down, and I hit a tree on my neighbor's easement across the street. After a minute, I decided to move the car, put the car in drive, and again the car would not slow down, and wound up hitting the porch of my neighbor

The car was towed, examined by the insurance adjustor and body shop, and determined totalled.
