While driving through a tunnel in Boston, MA, the vehicle shut off completely without warning and could not be restarted. The dashboard displayed multiple warning lights and the engine would not crank (clicking sound only). I was stranded inside an active tunnel in live traffic, requiring a Massachu
... setts State Police response and a tow. The dealer diagnosed a shorted starter, and during the same repair found the radiator leaking from its lower corner seam with no coolant remaining in the system (dealer repair order 316800, at 66,453 miles). An independent repair shop had documented dried coolant residue under the radiator three months earlier at 63,656 miles, indicating the leak had been developing. This vehicle also has a history of auxiliary battery failures affecting the stop/start system: the auxiliary battery failed at 22,517 miles and was replaced under warranty, and failed again at 58,094 miles. A sudden engine shutdown in a tunnel with no ability to restart is a serious safety hazard, and I am filing this complaint to document the failure. The dealer techs said they had never seen anything like it before, but they seemed to know what to look for. They then informed me that they could not loan me a car because I was traveling out of state. My vehicle experienced severe stalling, rough idling, and a strong burning smell, which match the exact defect characteristics outlined in NHTSA Campaign 26V080 for Nissan main bearing failure (The year 2026 campaign is active). The vehicle was towed to a Nissan dealership, where technicians confirm
... ed the engine requires complete replacement. However, the dealership is currently attempting to attribute the engine failure to 'coil intrusion' rather than the active bearing recall. The vehicle was purchased used in February 2026, just days after the official recall notification was sent to dealers. I am filing this complaint because the manufacturer is actively reviewing the claim and potentially bypassing a federally mandated safety remedy by blaming a consequential symptom of the engine failure. To specifically answer the above questions: The engine's main bearings failed/malfunctioned internally, causing catastrophic damage requiring a total engine replacement. The vehicle and its components are currently intact and available for inspection at the Nissan dealership service center. The vehicle suffered sudden, unexpected engine stalling while actively driving. This caused an immediate loss of motive power on a public roadway, creating a severe crash hazard and putting myself and surrounding drivers at risk of a rear-end collision. Yes. An authorized Nissan dealership service department has inspected the vehicle and confirmed that the engine has suffered a total mechanical failure and needs to be completely replaced. The vehicle is currently being inspected by an authorized Nissan dealership service center, and the case has been officially escalated to Nissan Corporate for a technical and warranty review. A strong burning smell and severe rough idling appeared a couple days prior to the incident. However, the check engine light did not illuminate or provide any warning until the moment the engine completely stalled on the highway.Read more

The Rear Axle Drivetrain Assembly failed. Specifically, a critical structural fastener (bolt) associated with NHTSA Recall #25V090 (MBUSA #2025020010) completely detached from the rear axle. The vehicle is currently in my possession and the failed component/repair is photographed. The detachment of
... this structural bolt caused a complete loss of propulsion while the vehicle was in a commercial driveway. Had this occurred minutes earlier during my 500-mile round trip on the I-95 highway, it would have resulted in a catastrophic drivetrain separation or axle lock-up at highway speeds (65+ mph). This posed a fatal risk to myself, my passengers, and other motorists. The failure was confirmed and documented by an independent service center (Crown Auto, [XXX] ) and subsequently confirmed by an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer (Mercedes-Benz of White Plains). White Plains issued a strict "Do Not Drive" order and dispatched emergency roadside assistance to transport the vehicle. The vehicle has been inspected by Mercedes-Benz of White Plains (authorized manufacturer representative) and Crown Auto. I have photographic evidence of the failed component prior to the re-repair. Mercedes-Benz of El Cajon (the originating dealer) has also been provided with photographic evidence but has refused to acknowledge the failure. No warning lamps or messages appeared prior to the failure. The first symptom was a complete loss of propulsion and a "spinning" sensation from the rear axle upon arriving in Queens. This lack of warning is particularly dangerous as the vehicle gave no indication of the impending structural failure during a 500-mile highway journey. The Service Director at the originating dealership, Ernie Serrano, initially denied the existence of the safety recall in writing and subsequently suggested that I misrepresent the nature of the failure to avoid a 'failed recall' record. This suggests a systemic attempt to hide safety-critical repair failures from the manufacturer a INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFRead more

A coolant leak from the flow shut‑off valve caused the engine maintenance warning light to remain on for an extended period. This issue is covered under Toyota Customer Support Program 24TE04. The warning light is a safety concern because it indicates an active engine‑related malfunction and can

The dealership stated the vehicle “did not meet criteria” and refused to perform the repair, even though the symptoms matched those described in the CSP. The issue continued until a second Toyota dealership later confirmed the same defect and replaced the coolant bypass valve. Because the vehicle had since exceeded 100,000 miles, Toyota refused to cover the repair under the CSP, despite the defect being documented earlier within the coverage period. Multiple attempts to resolve the issue with Toyota corporate have resulted in no returned calls or meaningful response. While driving under normal conditions, the Lane Keep Assist system on my 2025 BMW Alpina XB7 unexpectedly and violently jerked the steering wheel without driver input. The sudden steering intervention caused the vehicle to abruptly change direction and strike a curb, resulting in a loss-of-control e
... vent. This occurred without warning and could have resulted in a serious crash involving other vehicles, pedestrians, or roadside obstacles. Additionally, the adaptive cruise control system has repeatedly applied sudden and aggressive braking without an apparent reason or obstacle present. These abrupt braking events create a significant risk of a rear-end collision, as following vehicles are not anticipating such sudden deceleration. These issues involve advanced driver-assistance safety systems that are intended to enhance control and safety. Instead, they are operating in a manner that overrides driver input and introduces unsafe driving conditions. The servicing dealership acknowledged the issues and advised me not to use the Lane Keep Assist and cruise control features. Being instructed to disable safety systems due to unsafe behavior is unacceptable and does not resolve the underlying defect. As I was parking my car in a parking spot going about 5 miles or less. My car surged forward at a very accelerated speed, and I ended up running into a brushed and a metal fence, which is what stopped me. There were no warnings that went off on my car. No emergency brakes, nothing.

Tail lights sensors / control are defective in some way. To be clear the tail lights at the rear of the vechile work perfectly fine and are very bright. They light up during lock and unlock. Also if you set headlight to on when parked. Also note brake lights still work in all situations. Howe

Took video of this issue after two dealer visits they said they were unable to replicate. They are suppose to replace the vechile control unit next week. I have my doubts that’s the issue. I’m willing to wager it’s the body control unit that’s the issue which my vechile doesn’t have for some reason because it wasn’t equipped with the tow package.Read more

I am writing to your Company regarding the unavailability of the ABS Control Module for 2017 Ram 1500 trucks. My truck, like those of numerous other Ram owners, has a malfunctioning ABS Control Module. Because of this malfunction, the ABS and cruise control do not work. In turn, this places me and
... other owners of this vehicle in an unsafe situation, in that the lack of an operating ABS system is conducive to skidding and accidents. Some owners have even reported that they cannot drive their vehicles due to locked brakes resulting from this malfunction. I have tried every source in existence in my efforts to find a replacement module, but I have been totally unsuccessful. I have been told by one of your Customer Service representatives that your Company is “…unable to maintain a complete inventory for an indefinite period and the lower the demand, the less likely it is we will have stocked parts. As such, the part you are requesting is no longer in our inventory.” I am aware of a current class action suit against your company for the RAM 2500 & 3500 for the same issue. I guess the owners’ lives of the Ram 1500 are not as important. Wilson, et al. v. FCA US LLC Case No. 4:22-cv-0044 This is absolutely appalling. Apparently, several thousand Ram owners who paid tens of thousands of dollars for their trucks are not important enough to your Company to warrant providing the necessary support for their products. I am thoroughly disgusted with the disrespect and value you place on the safety and lives of your truck owners and the other drivers on the road who are in danger due to the lack of support or concern you have for your “valued? owners”.Read more

My engine oil light came on recently so I took my car to the auto service center to check. The auto repair staff performed and inspection and found excessive oil consumption stemming from a defect in the pistons, piston rings and piston heads. They gave me a copy of Quality Bulletin from Volvo reg
... arding the extended warranty P10207: VEP4 Oil Consumption Test; Model Year 2015-2016. Volvo provided an extended warranty for this defect but never informed me of the defect. Initially, Volvo said they would provide coverage for 10 years which would have covered my vehicle but Volvo decreased the period of coverage to October 2024. Now Volvo won't pay for the repairs which are estimated at $10,000. It should have been a recall, according to the auto service center. Apparently, auto companies don't like recalls due to the negative publicity. Instead the auto manufacturers provide so-called warranties for defects of automobiles for a limited time period. Had I I would have taken my car to the dealer for repair if I received such a letter from Volvo. My car is only worth $12,000 at this point since it is 10 years old but I have only 66,000 miles on my car which is low (particularly for a Volvo). I have written Beyer Volvo in Falls Church, VA, asking them to pay for the repairs, as well as Volvo North America. Both declined to provide any payment for repair of my vehicle. There are class action lawsuits against Volvo for not informing their customers of this defect. NHTSA should have issued a recall. Can NHTSA help me with this problem now? My car is not safe to drive since the oil will leak from the pistons into the rest of the engine. I can't afford to buy a car right now. It is wrong that Volvo is getting away with this defect without paying for the repairs of my cars.
