LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:HOOD:LATCH
Defect Description
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2018 Nissan Altima vehicles. If the primary hood latch is inadvertently released, there is an increased likelihood that the secondary hood latch may corrode over time.
Consequence
Corrosion to the secondary latch may cause it to bind and remain in the unlatched position when the hood is closed. If the primary latch is inadvertently released again and the secondary latch is not engaged, the hood could unexpectedly open while driving, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
Remedy
Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will install a stronger release spring in the hood release lever, a warning label near the secondary hood latch, and an Owners Manual addendum card with instructions on how to lubricate and maintain the secondary hood latch mechanism, free of charge. Owner n

I own a 2023 Hyundai Sonata SEL. Over approximately three years, the vehicle experienced four separate incidents involving sudden loss of engine power and recurring fuel injector/powertrain problems. Three of these incidents occurred while the vehicle was being driven on interstate highways, creatin
... g serious safety concerns. The first incident occurred on XXX, on [XXX] [XXX]. My daughter was driving the vehicle at the time when it suddenly lost power while traveling on the interstate. She had to maneuver the vehicle to the shoulder under unsafe traffic conditions. The second incident occurred on XXX, on [XXX] near [XXX]. I was driving the vehicle when it again experienced sudden loss of power while traveling at highway speed. The third incident occurred on XXX, in [XXX]. The vehicle experienced another significant power-loss event and required roadside assistance. The fourth incident occurred on XXX, on [XXX]. The vehicle again experienced a sudden loss of engine power while I was driving on the highway. Despite multiple repair attempts, including repairs related to the fuel injectors, the same or substantially similar power-loss problem continued to recur. Because the vehicle has repeatedly lost engine power while being driven, including multiple incidents at interstate highway speeds, I believe this recurring condition presents a serious safety risk. I am reporting these incidents so NHTSA can evaluate whether this may represent a broader safety-related defect affecting this vehicle model. I bought a new 2025 Ford Expedition Max King Ranch back in February. After driving it for awhile.....it was noticed that the front windshield is defective (star shape or spackling) and have been reported to the dealership that I bought from and another dealership way closer to me (West Hills Ford).
... This is making it hard to drive and it a safety issue also. You only see it at sunrise and sunset. West Hills said they see it no one, even myself can get a picture of it. With that FORD is denying the replacement, even tho it is still under warranty. On June 16, 2026, while traveling southbound on Highway 67 in Cedar Hill, Texas, my 2015 Cadillac SRX suffered a sudden, catastrophic tracking failure and crashed into a highway wall (Cedar Hill PD CFS Report 7655). Component Failed & Availability: The rear suspension toe link assembly separated a

Safety Risk: The sudden tracking loss at highway speeds caused an immediate, un-correctable collision with a concrete wall, creating a severe, life-threatening risk to myself and surrounding traffic. Service Confirmation: On June 2, 2026 (at 165,006 miles), an independent service center (Discount Tire) documented an over-torque of the rear right wheel to 140 ft-lbs, introducing severe mechanical stress directly adjacent to the defective recall joint right before the crash. The issue is the front grill design. Kia left the radiator completely exposed behind the grill with no protective barrier. Over time, dust, debris, and rocks collect and pass right through, causing serious damage to the radiator. Based on my experience and the experiences of hundreds of other owners
... , you will likely need to replace your entire radiator within the first three years of ownership. It is not covered under warranty. You will be expected to pay out of pocket in my case, $1,350, for damage caused by their faulty design. The "solution" owners are left with? Going on Amazon and purchasing a metal mesh grill guard to install yourself, just to protect a part that should have been protected from the factory. A consumer should not have to modify a brand-new vehicle to prevent a critical component from being destroyed under normal driving conditions. If the grill had been designed properly in the first place, none of this would be necessary.Read more

This car was designed without steering wheel stalks for control of the directionals. In their place it uses push buttons on the steering wheel. It becomes difficult to start the directionals when the steering wheel is turned because the buttons are no longer in a standard position and aren't easil

In addition if your fingers are kept rested on the buttons the system alarms and tells you they have been in place too long and the buttons stop working. In February 2025, my jeep would flash a “Service Hybrid System” code that would last about 3-5 seconds and disappear. This happened about 4-5 times over the next few months, code would not stay up and vehicle seemed unaffected. On June 10, I was driving with son on a highway about 60 mph when
... my car completely shut off, no power to engine, no power steering- absolutely nothing. We experienced a very aggressive jerk when this happened and I limped the vehicle off to the shoulder- we live in a remote area and I had no cell service. I was able to restart my car and drove it in “e-save” mode home. The next day, I drove my car again and had my son and daughter in the vehicle and the same exact thing happened. I was driving about 55mph around a corner with a large semi coming at me in the oncoming lane and my vehicle shut off and lost power and power steering. I was terrified that I would veer into that truck and there was not a shoulder readily available. We had to yet again limp the vehicle a few yards around the corner to pull off and I did not have service. So I had to walk to call my husband to pick my children up. The car has been at the dealership since then and told there is a digital crash code showing with no eta on a fix. Stellantis has denied a buyback yet my car has 26,000 miles on it and is under warranty with no eta on fix. Vehicle is unsafe to drive and unfixable for 60 days now.Read more

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding ongoing and persistent issues with my 2020 Chevrolet Blazer. The vehicle has exhibited repeated problems that I believe may indicate a broader safety or mechanical defect, and I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate thes
... e concerns further. Since purchasing the vehicle, I have experienced the check engine light turning on and off repeatedly, without consistent resolution. The following issues have occurred over time, all seemingly related to the engine or control systems: Engine Cooling System Failure: The first major issue involved the engine cooling system. This caused the vehicle to overheat and required service. I was concerned about the potential for engine damage or fire risk due to excessive heat. Variable Valve Timing (VVT) System Malfunction: Shortly after the cooling system issue, the vehicle began experiencing problems with the variable valve timing system. This not only affected performance and fuel efficiency but also caused the check engine light to illuminate again. Steering Control Assist Sensor Warnings: Most recently, the steering control assist sensor has started to malfunction, with warnings frequently popping up on the dashboard. This has impacted steering feel and raises serious safety concerns. Despite multiple service appointments and repairs, these problems persist or reappear. This cycle of temporary fixes without a lasting resolution is both frustrating and concerning from a safety standpoint. I am requesting that the NHTSA look into whether these recurring engine and control system issues are part of a known defect or recall-worthy problem affecting the 2020 Chevy Blazer. Thank you for your attention to this matter.Read more
