The plastic part on the transmission melted. I had to get my transmission rebuilt. This has been a problem for many Ford vehicles with this engine type because who makes a transmission out of plastic!?
The steering gear went out causing the steering wheel to completely lock up. It’s costing thousands of dollars to repair. Not sure why this recall isn’t associated with my VIN number but other 2016 ford fusions. My car is in the shop now to be fixed and was quoted over 3k$

severe coolant intrusion issue where coolant leaks into the cylinders, causing rough running, overheating, and potential engine failure. Very unsafe especially due to the fact the their were recalls on the 2017-2019 but not for 2016 models and ford refuses to replace the engine.ford reproduced a better block however my 2016 isn't covered. There signs of rough idling and a engine code for a failed coil . Replaced all coils and spark plugs just for the car to still ride rough with no warning signs. Ford knows themselves that there was a flaw in the making the recall for the 2017-2019(21N12) . This is a major issue considering several reviews or reddit consumers have encountered the exact issue at 100k miles and less. Even when I took my car to bill estes they only found a missfire due to coil. Nothing specified a coolant intrusion.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while attempting to reverse(R), the rear-view camera became inoperable. I received a recall notice in October 2025 for the back up camera on my car. As of now, there is still no remedy. This puts me and others at risk of potential injury. I have waited patiently and still no solution. Can you help me?
I have concerns about the safety and proper installation of my child’s car seat. The seat is installed in the rear of the vehicle, however I am unsure if the lower anchors and tether system are functioning properly or securing the seat as intended. I want to ensure my child is fully protected in the event of a sudden stop or crash. Additionally, I am reporting ongoing safety concerns with my vehicle related to open recalls. The manufacturer has stated that certain repairs should be completed free of charge, but the dealership has delayed or failed to complete the repairs in a timely manner. These issues raise concerns about overall safety and risk to occupants, especially a young child. The vehicle and car seat are available for inspection if needed.

My vehicle has multiple active safety recalls that remain unrepaired. I have already contacted the dealership and attempted to have these issues addressed, but I have experienced delays and a lack of response. The front brake hose recall presents a serious safety risk, as it could rupture and cause a brake fluid leak, leading to reduced braking ability and increased stopping distance. Additionally, the rear view camera recall affects visibility when reversing, as the camera may display a blank or distorted image.I have already filed a complaint with NHTSA regarding these unresolved recalls. One of the recalls currently does not have a remedy available, and the other has not been completed despite my efforts to schedule repairs. These unresolved safety issues put me and others at risk, and I am concerned about the lack of timely action to correct them.

I took my car in to diagnose low coolant and white exhaust smoke on cold start. The technician said he "observed the presence of coolant inside the cylinder walls which can lead to "serious damage...corrosion...failure and wear and could seize up and told me to get a new engine or car. The vehicle component was inspected by an independent service center. No warning lights prior to failure. Other symptoms include low coolant, white exhaust smoke and runs rough condition especially on acceleration. Vehicle Condition Report (photos and videos) that shows you what our technicians saw today and includes any recommendations. My 2016 Ford Fusion SE had a prior safety recall repair in 2020 involving replacement of the steering wheel retaining/attachment bolt with a longer bolt. The bolt now appears to be loosening again. This seems like a recurrence or failure of the prior recall remedy. The dealer told me I had to pay out of pocket and ford corporate said the repair only had a 12-month warranty, but this is a steering safety issue involving the same recalled condition. I am concerned the steering wheel could loosen or separate from the steering column.
I was driving my car one day and as I was coming down the road the car jerked and picked up speed like on its on and I had to really stop abruptly to stop the car. I thought that was strange, I didn't have any warning lights or any indication that anything was going on I just thought it was weird, then like 2 days later as was driving the car would do this random jerk but again no lights on any indication anything was wrong so I went to work car seemed fine, got on the high way to go pick up my grand kid after work and when I signaled to change lanes attempted to accelerate to pass, the car just hummed and my speed started to diminish and I immediately coasted to nearest exit because I could not accelerate more than 15 mies, I coasted to a strip mall turned the car off waited til I thought the car settled for a moment and attempted to start the car and when I put the car in gear it jerked but as I tried to accelerate it just hummed and no speed overc15 . So I left the car got it towed the next day to another shop because any ford dealerships I called to see if I could tow for diagnostic test said they had extensive waiting period like one had weeks before they could look at the car. So I had it towed to another car lot who had a good business rating to be told that it seems to look like something had came loose from the transmission. That i may have to get it replaced, this car starts right up, didn't give me any indication of a problem and doesn't even have a hundred thousand miles on it. Where did ford drop the ball on this car? Im very disappointed , I attempted to drive the car around the corner one day trying to explain to my neighbor the weird behavior of the car and the transmission piece I was told that cane loose, and the car ran fine for about 20 minutes even picking up speed and everything then the moment I got back on my block its like it got warm and then we had to push it back on the driveway it went back to not being able to accelerate.again

I get in my 2016 Fusion to go to dinner and I can barely turn my steering wheel. I put it in park and check the power steering fluid. FULL. I tried resetting the power steering assist by starting the car and turning all the way left then right then center. Still can barely turn. Tried disconnecting the battery hoping it would be an electrical glitch. Come to find out it’s could be a steering assist motor on the steering column that’s going bad and CAN CAUSE THIS PROBLEM WHILE DRIVING! That’s insane!

STEERING WHEEL ALMOST DETACHED FROM STEERING CULLUM. THERE IS A RECALL ALREADY ATTACHED TO OTHER 2016 FORD FUSIONS BUT NOT MY TRIM MODEL (2016 FORD FUSION ENERGY PLUG IN HYBRID). THE VEH IS NOT DRIVABLE
My car is having a problem with the a coolant intrusion into the intake so coolant is leaking into the engine, this being said there was a recall for my car a while ago when I did not own the car and I believe it was never replaced or taken care of. When I went to the ford dealership they are saying that there is no recall for my car. The car misfired once which is one of the symptoms, I got my spark plugs replaced, my check engine light came on again for a different problem, I got my intake replaced it ran fine for 4 days and now I am back with the same problem 4 days later. Doing some research I believe that there is a cracked cylinder head or failing gasket. Ford did have a recall on my engine coolant intrusion but like I said prior they are saying there is no recall for my engine which is why I am confused about it. All of my engine problems are leading to this recall that was never fixed on my car or was looked over in my engine. Any help on this would be great thanks
The engine experienced a piston misfire that occurred internally, causing a fracture within the engine block. The resulting damage allows oil intrusion into the spark plug chamber. This constitutes a mandatory safety concern that requires immediate attention.
The rear backup camera system on my 2016 Ford Fusion S has failed and no longer displays an image when the vehicle is placed in reverse. The screen remains completely black and does not activate. The backup camera previously worked normally before this failure. The issue appears to be related to the backup camera or associated electrical/display system, and the component should be available for inspection upon request. This malfunction creates a safety risk because the backup camera is necessary to see obstacles, pedestrians, and other vehicles behind the car. Without a functioning backup camera, rear visibility is significantly reduced, increasing the risk of a collision, especially in parking lots and residential areas. The problem occurs every time the vehicle is placed in reverse. The issue has not yet been confirmed by a dealer or independent repair facility. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. There were no warning lights or messages prior to the failure. The screen began failing and now remains completely black when in reverse. The exact date the issue began is UNKNOWN.
I am requesting formal escalation and review of my case due to a repeat failure of a safety recall component that has rendered my vehicle unsafe and not safely operable. My vehicle is a 2016 Ford Fusion. In 2024, a door latch safety recall repair was completed at an authorized Ford dealership. The same door latch has now failed again, causing the door to not close or latch at all, creating the same safety condition the recall was intended to correct. Both the dealership and Ford customer service have declined assistance on the basis that the recall repair was previously completed. However, this is not a new or unrelated issue — this is a repeat failure of the same safety-critical component addressed under the recall. This condition presents an ongoing safety risk, and the vehicle cannot be used safely in its current state. I have already filed a formal complaint with NHTSA documenting this repeat failure and Ford’s refusal to repair the issue. At this time, I am requesting: Review by a supervisor or escalation specialist Consideration for goodwill or recall-related assistance Resolution of this repeat safety defect without cost to me Please provide: Confirmation that this case has been escalated A written response explaining Ford’s position Any options Ford is willing to offer to address this safety concern I am requesting this review in good faith and hope Ford will stand behind its safety recall repair when the same defect has clearly reoccurred. Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to your response. Sincerely, [XXX] & [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
