CERTAIN AFTERMARKET BRAKE HYDRAULIC MASTER CYLINDERS SOLD AS REPLACEMENT BRAKE CYLINDERS FOR CERTAIN FORD, DAIMLERCHRYSLER, AND JEEP PASSENGER VEHICLES. THESE BRAKE CYLINDERS WERE SOLD UNDER THE BRAND NAMES OF NAPA, RAYBESTOS, AIMCO, AC DELCO, CARQUEST, BENDIX, AND WAGNER. ONLY PRODUCTS THAT WERE MANUFACTURED FROM JULY 27, 2005 THROUGH JANUARY 17, 2006 (DATE CODES 0529 THROUGH 0602) ARE SUBJECT TO THIS RECALL. WHEN SUBJECT TO VERY COLD TEMPERATURES, AN INTERNAL SEAL IN THE MASTER CYLINDER COULD LOSE FLEXIBILITY AND MAY CAUSE BRAKE FLUID TO LEAK.
Remedy: AFFINIA (BRAKE PARTS, INC.) WILL REPLACE THE SUBJECT BRAKE HYDRAULIC MASTER CYLINDERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 20, 2006. OWNERS CAN CONTACT AFFINA GROUP CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-800-323-0354.

TELEPHONE 305 227 4110. *TR ON OCT. 22, 2007 THE REAR RIGHT TIRE BLEWOUT. THE TIRE HAD 7,194 MILES. TIRE KINGDOM GAVE ME TWO TIRES WHICH THEY INSTALLED IN THE FRONT. ON NOV. 19, 2007 ANOTHER TIRE BLEWOUT. THIS TIRE HAD 10,550 MILES. THIS LAST INCIDENT HAPPENED IN HOUSTON. I WENT TO NTB (PART OF THE SAME COMPANY) LOCATED AT: 7115 FM 1960 ROAD WEST. TELEPHONE 281- 580-1689. I TALKED TO THE MGR. MR. FRED JOHNSON. I SHOWED HIM THE BLOWNOUT TIRE, ALL THE PAPERS ETC..AND ASKED HIM TO REPLACE THE BLOWNOUT TIRE PLUS THE OTHER ORIGINAL TIRE. HE SAID THAT HE WOULD ONLY REPLACE THE BLOWNOUT TIRE, HE DID NOT HAVE THE TIRE IN STOCK SO I HAD TO RETURN. SINCE HE DID NOT WANT TO REPLACE THE TWO ORIGINAL TIRES, I ASKED HIM FOR THE NAME AND TELEPHONE OF THE DISTRICT MGR. HE TOLD ME THAT HIS NAME WAS ARTHAY BENTON AND HIS TELEPHONE 1-865-951-4622. I CALLED MR. BENTON AND EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM TO HIM. HE SAID HE WOULD CALL ME BACK. THE PERSON THAT CALLED ME BACK WAS MR. FRED JOHNSON AND TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD NOT GIVE ME ANY TIRES NOT EVEN REPLACE THE BLOWNOUT TIRE. I TOOK THE BLOWNOUT TIRE TO ANOTHER NTB STORE AND THEY REPLACED IT. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THESE TIRES PARTICULARLY THE ORIGINAL TIRE. THE FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED ON I-10 IN FLORIDA, THE SECOND INCIDENT ON 610 IN HOUSTON. I WILL BE PURCHASING THE SECOND REPLACEMENT SWITCH TODAY (3 TOTAL SWITCHES SINCE NEW). WITH THE INSTRUMENT PANEL TRIM REMOVED AND 1/2 HR DRIVING WITH HEADLIGHTS ON THE SWITCH IS TOO HOT TO TOUCH. THE CONTACT THAT PROVIDES POWER TO THE TAIL LIGHTS, INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS AND RADIO NIGHT LIGHT SEEMS TO BE THE SOURCE OF HEAT AS THAT TERMINAL SHOWS THE GREATEST DAMAGE DUE TO HEATING.*AK

ON 8-12-03 MY FAMILY WERE ON THE FLORIDA TURNPIKE WHEN THEY SUDDENLY HEARD A "THUMP,THUMP" FROM THE RIGHT REAR SIMILAR TO THE SOUND HEARD THE PREVIOUS WEEK WITH THE SEPARATED TIRE. I HAVE INSTRUCTED MY DAUGHTER TO ONLY USE THE VAN WITHIN TOWN AND NOT TO USE IT ON THE HIGHWAY OR EXCEED 50 MPH.
