THESE HEADLAMPS ARE MISSING THE AMBER SIDE REFLEX REFLECTOR WHICH FAILS TO CONFORM WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT."

MY SON AND I BOTH OWN CHEVROLETS S10 TRUCKS. BOTH OF THEM DEVELOPED PROFUSE OIL LEAKS FROM THE OIL FILTER ADAPTER LINES. THIS CAUSED A TOTAL HEMORRHAGE OF OIL BEFORE IT COULD BE DISCOVERED AND DAMAGED THE ENGINES. WHAT A SURPRISE TO DISCOVER SEVERAL OTHER SIMILAR GENERAL MOTORS VEHICLES IN THE SAME SHOP WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THE SHOP OWNERS SAID THIS IS A COMMON DEFECT WITH THESE CHEVROLET AND GMC TRUCKS, AND THAT THEY HAD REPLACED LEAKING LINES ON 8 OR 10 IN JUST THE PAST MONTH. IF THIS IS HAPPENING IN ONE SMALL SHOP IN TOWN, HOW MANY IS IT HAPPENING TO ALL OVER THE COUNTRY? MOST OF THE TRUCKS SUFFERED SIGNIFICANT ENGINE DAMAGE REQUIRING A COMPLETE OVERHAUL BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW THE OIL IS LEAKING OUT UNTIL THE ENGINE BEGINS MAKING NOISE OR SEIZES. THIS COULD BE A VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT BECAUSE THE OIL LINES ARE VERY NEAR THE EXHAUST PIPE AND COULD SPRAY OIL ONTO IT. SOMEONE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WOULD BE UNAWARE THIS WAS HAPPENING UNTIL THE VEHICLE WAS AFIRE. IT COULD ALSO SPRAY OIL ONTO THE TIRE AND CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL. CPI FUEL INJECTION UNIT FAILED ALLOWING EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF FUEL TO ENTER ENGINE. A LARGE AMOUNT OF THIS FUEL WAS NOT BURNED IN THE ENGINE AND SENT OUT OF THE ENGINE INTO THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. THIS CONDITION POSED A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD FOR A POSSIBLE ENGINE FIRE OR EXPLOSION ACCORDING TO MY MECHANIC. HE HAS SERVICE MANY OF THESE SIMILAR 4.3L CPI ENGINES WHICH HAVE HAD THE SAME FAILURE OF THE CPI FUEL INJECTION UNIT. I AM REPORTING THIS PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE IN ORDER TO PREVENT A SERIOUS INCIDENT IN A VEHICLE WITH THE SAME ENGINE.

WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE UNDER THE HOOD THAT CAUGHT THE DRIVER'S ATTENTION, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER, THE HOOD WAS LIFTED, AND THERE WAS A FIRE THAT IGNITED IN THE ALTERNATOR, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO BURN UP. DEALER HAS NOT BEEN CONTACTED. *AK

I HAVE RECENTLY TAKEN THIS VEHICLE INTO TWO DIFFERENT CHEVY DEALERS AND TWICE WAS TOLD THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT.WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS UNDER 40MPH OR SO WHEN BRAKING TO STOP OR SLOW FOR A TURN, THE BRAKE PEDAL RATCHETS DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND THE ABS LIGHT COMES ON.I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR BECAUSE OF THE PEDAL GOING TO THE FLOOR.WHILE THE CAR WAS AT ONE DEALER,THEY CALLED TO TELL ME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH ITAND THAT I COULD DISCONNECT THEM IF I WANTED,NOW IF THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WHY WOULD I DO THAT.I CALLED THE CHEVY#1-800-222-1020 AND WAS TOLD THAT MY VIN# WASN'T PART OF THE RECALL AND TO TAKE IT TO AN INDEPENDENT TO SEE IF THEY CAN FIX IT.ALL I WANT IS THE CAR FIXED SO ITS SAFE ,I'VE TRIED TWICE AT GM DEALERS AND WASTED MONEY.HELP!!!

ABS COMPUTER/VALVE SYSTEM DEFECTIVE. BRAKES "CHATTER" ON APPLICATION, OCCASIONALLY HAVE A WHEEL LOCKUP WHEN BRAKING. FLUSHED FLUID SYSTEM, NO MECHANICAL PROBLEM, GOOD PADS, NO FLUID LEAK, VACUUM BOOSTER OK. DEALER CANNOT FIND PROBLEM, DOESN'T REALLY WANT TO CHANGE OUT COMPUTER/VALVE SYSTEM. IS THERE A RECALL ON THIS SYSTEM?

WE HAVE A 1992 S-10 BLAZER WITH A TWO WHEEL LOCKING DIFFERENTIAL-REAR AXLE. SINCE WE PURCHASED IT, WE HAVE ALWAYS FELT THAT THE BRAKES WERE TOO HARD TO APPLY AND FAILED TO STOP QUICKLY. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WE HAD TO STOP ON GRAVEL AND THE VEHICLE SLID INSTEAD OF COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE 1992 TWO WHEEL DRIVE BLAZERS NEED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE PRESENT RECALL.
