Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2017-2019 Beetle, Beetle Convertible, 2012-2014 Passat, 2017 Passat Wagon, and 2006-2007 Passat Sedan vehicles. The driver's side frontal air bag inflator may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the driver's side front air bag module, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 4, 2024. Owners may contact Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-893-5298. Volkswagen's numbers for this recall are 69EG, 69GQ, and 69E6.

The driver's side air bag inflator may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.

Remedy: Volkswagen will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver's side air bag inflators, free of charge. The recall began December 20, 2019. Owners may contact Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-893-5298 or Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Volkswagen's numbers for this recall are 69R6, 69Q8, 69Q9, and 69Y5.

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2012-2020 Volkswagen Passat and 2018-2019 Atlas vehicles. The blocking cap disabling the adjustment of the headlight's horizontal aim may not have been installed. As such, these vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Remedy: Volkswagen will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, as necessary, block the headlight horizontal adjustment, free of charge. The recall began July 16, 2019. Owners may contact Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Volkswagen's number for this recall is 94L9.

Due to improperly assembled wire seals in a connector for an underbody sensor, water may enter and corrode the electrical connectors of the sensor, causing an electrical short.

(Volkswagen) is recalling certain model year 2010-2014 Volkswagen CC, and Passat, 2010-2013 Eos, 2011-2014 Golf, GTI, Jetta, and Tiguan, and 2012-2014 Jetta Sportwagen vehicles. In the affected vehicles, debris may contaminate the air bag clock spring, a spiral wound, flat cable that keeps the air bag powered while the steering wheel is being turned. This contamination may tear the cable and result in a loss of electrical connection to the driver's frontal air bag.

Remedy: Volkswagen will notify owners, and dealers will install a protective cover over the steering wheel clock spring if the air bag light is off. If the airbag light is on and the steering wheel clock spring requires replacement, dealers will install a new steering wheel clock spring. These repairs will be performed free of charge. A sealing cap at the fuel rail may fail, allowing fuel to leak into the engine compartment.

Remedy: Volkswagen will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel rails with new parts, free of charge. The recall began February 6, 2015. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain model year 2014 Jetta, Beetle, Beetle Convertible, and Passat vehicles equipped with a 1.8T engine and torque converter automatic transmission. In the affected vehicles, the O-ring seals between the oil cooler and the transmission may leak fluid.

Remedy: Volkswagen will notify owners, and dealers will replace the O-ring seals in the transmission oil cooler, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on April 16, 2014. Owners may contact Volkswagen at 1-800-822-8987. Volkswagen's number for this recall is 38B9/9V.

I am reporting a recurring engine defect in a 2014 Volkswagen Passat that has resulted in repeated engine failure and loss of power while driving. Approximately six months after purchase, the vehicle required a complete engine replacement. One to two years after the replacement, the vehicle began exhibiting the same engine-related failures and has since become inoperable again. Manufacturer-issued Technical Service Bulletins addressing these engine defects were issued prior to the sale of the vehicle, indicating the condition was known. The repeated engine failures create unsafe driving conditions, including the risk of sudden loss of power during vehicle operation.

1) Transmission vehicle is not able to be driven Driving on the highway taking kids to school as my vehicle would not accelerate put me the kids and all that were on the road that morning at risk because all i could do is coast to get off on the side of the highway. I had it towed to independent center No warning signs, lights or messages nor any other symptoms. 2)also faulty steering wheel clock spring all of the controls stopped working airbag light is on and when turning the wheel it clicks and rubs.

CALLED IN APRIL WAS TOLD PARTS ARE NOW NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL SEPTEMBER AT THE EARLIEST AND NOW ITS SAYING THERE IS NOT EVEN A REMEDY AVAILABLE. AND THE POSSIBLE OUTCOME OF THE AIRBAG UNINTENTIONALLY GOING OFF IS SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH TO DRIVER AND PASSENGERS. I DRIVE MY CAR TO WORK EVERY DAY AND FEEL MORE UNSAFE FROM THE AIRBAG BEING A POTENTIAL HAZARD INSTEAD OF A SAFETY FEATURE.

Volkwsagen has still addressed the recall of 24V834. I can't find anywhere else to submit a complaint. When I call them they say they do not have the parts even though I was notified of the recall in December 2024. I also called into the NTHSA but no one answers your phone. I think your employees are picking up and leaving the phone off the hook.

I have contacted Centennial VW in Las Vegas, NV about the recall in December 2024 and they said the part is still on back order.

Called the dealership at commonwealth motors and all other dealership to take care of the recall as that is the only reason why I am a unable to pass inspection . Dealer ships all around said the part for the takata airbag recall is not in stock and will not be available till December 2025

The driver-side front airbag in my vehicle is under a safety recall due to the risk of it deploying improperly and releasing metal fragments, which could cause serious injury or death. I initially contacted the dealership in March and was told that I was not affected by the national backorder, and that the replacement part would arrive by early May. I have now been informed that the part will not be available until September. This delay is unacceptable and directly endangers my safety. I live in a region with high summer heat and humidity, conditions known to increase the risk of inflator failure in recalled airbags. Volkswagen, as the manufacturer, has failed to meet its recall obligations. I have contacted their customer service, and instead of offering a timeline, solution, or safe alternative, I was referred back to the dealership, who also had no answers. Volkswagen has provided no transportation assistance, no escalation process, and no accountability,even though they are responsible for ensuring the timely repair of this safety-critical component. The part has not been inspected or replaced by anyone, and I am being forced to drive a vehicle I know could cause serious harm. There are no warning lamps or error messages in the vehicle, but the danger is explicitly outlined in the recall itself. Volkswagen’s delay, lack of communication, and refusal to assist puts my safety, and the safety of others, at serious risk.

They scheduled an appointment for me to have my airbag fixed per the recall, but then they cancelled my appointment because the parts were on backorder with no foreseeable date to fix the issue. They said they'd call me when they could schedule, but it has been months and I have not received a call. I called again today, 4/22/25, and was told parts are still on backorder and I cannot schedule a time to get the issue fixed. I was told maybe in 2 more months I could get it fixed.

I took my car to the dealership for the recall on the airbag and was told they are unable to replace it at this time due to a parts issue. I live in Hawaii and from my understanding high temperatures and humidity exacerbate the issue and I am concerned for my safety and the safety of others.

My vehicle has a transmission coolant leak, which is common for some of the 2014 Passat. Not pretty sure if it is due to the faulty O-ring recalled for some of 2014 passats.

There is an active recall (69E6 - Driver Frontal Airbag Inflator) on my 2014 Volkswagen Passat. About 2 months ago, I scheduled an appointment with my local Volkswagen dealer to get this recall resolved. I was told that the parts were on back order and haven't heard anything for almost 2 months, meaning this is not being resolved in a timely manner and I continue to drive my car with added risk. I have continued to reach out to the dealer to no avail. Today, I then attempted to contact Volkswagen directly and was unable to gather anything of value as they continued to tell me that all I can do is continue to stay in touch with my Volkswagen dealer (conversation has been downloaded). At this point - I have no clue how to proceed and just wish to have my recall repaired so I can drive without extra risk of injury. There has been an excessive oil consumption in this vehicle , and reading other reports there maybe an issue, also this vehicle has been part of several recalls previously and I am concerned and I don’t feel safe to drive it . Heater core has clogged after replacement in less than 12 months. This is the 4th occurrence of this failure on this vehicle. Failure has the risk to overheat engine. VW Technical Service Bulletin has been modified multiple times, but still doesn't fully resolve the issue.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that her air bag failure was linked to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V834000(Air Bags); however, once the recall was serviced, the contact was informed that the recall was related to the air bag inflator, not the actual air bag. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
