I own a 2023 Ram 2500 equipped with the 6.7L Cummins diesel and 68RFE automatic transmission. The vehicle has experienced ongoing transmission malfunction issues including extremely harsh shifting, intermittent RPM flare during gear changes, delayed engagement, and sudden lurching during acceleratio
... n and deceleration. The issue occurs most commonly during low-speed acceleration and normal driving conditions. The transmission will sometimes flare RPM between gears and then slam into the next gear. At other times the vehicle will lurch forward unexpectedly around approximately 35–45 mph. The behavior is inconsistent and unpredictable. Some drives appear normal while others produce severe shifting events. This condition creates a safety concern because the vehicle can surge or jerk unexpectedly during normal driving and while towing. I regularly tow a small enclosed trailer and these sudden shift events create instability and loss of smooth power delivery. The vehicle has been inspected multiple times by an authorized Ram dealership. The dealer has attempted repairs including transmission diagnostics and valve body replacement. The condition has continued despite repair attempts. The vehicle has also remained out of service at the dealership for extended periods of time while the manufacturer attempts to diagnose the issue. No warning lights consistently appear prior to the failure. The symptoms occur intermittently after the vehicle reaches operating temperature and sometimes after driving several miles. This issue has been confirmed by the dealership and the manufacturer has been involved in the case. The vehicle remains unrepaired after multiple attempts. Because this is a heavy-duty truck that frequently tows loads, the sudden harsh shifting and unpredictable transmission behavior creates a potential safety risk to the driver and surrounding traffic.Read more

This vehicle qualified for the Volkswagen Emissions Recall, yet from the start of the recall through 2018 settlement lawsuit dates , no correspondence was sent (by Porsche nor VW). According to all recall regulations, my vehicle should have among the ‘recall’ with the 85K plus others, yet no cor
... respondence was sent (by Porsche nor VW) & now the local Porsche dealership is denying in, According to all recall regulations, even still with the EPA, the vehicle was to receive an initial emissions test, then undergo all related repairs/part replacements before the issue resulted in toxic emissions, NOX sensor failures, & premature problems with the DPF system, leading to thermostat problems & the failure of the diesel turbo. Federal regs mandate that vehicle & vehicle equipment manufacturers comply with Early Warning Reporting requirements, submit to NHTSA copies of their manufacturer communications. & update all communications including warranty, policy extensions & product improvement communication sent to dealers, distributors, owners, purchasers, etc. regarding any defect, failure or malfunction beyond normal deterioration in use, failure of performance, flaw or other unintended deviation from design specifications whether it is safety-related or not. Porsche now says my vehicle never showed the recall, despite court mandates that all affected vehicles will be notified communication failed on the sides of both manufacturers. In 2026, if one possesses an eligible vehicle but never received a "Dieselgate" recall notice, options for financial compensation from the original U.S. settlements stated to be likely limited, & I’m not able to find how to proceed with Volkswagen, but regardless, according to EPA and all vehicle standards, I read my vehicle is still entitled to receive an emissions modification at no cost, and that I should be covered by an extended emissions warranty to address all current & related issues.Read more

I was driving my 2016 Ford f150 in Ventura California on August 29th 2025 when my throttle began to accelerate on its own after taking my foot off the gas pedal. My truck sped up out of control, I almost lost control of the vehicle and crashed. Luckily I was able to gain control and get it into neut
... ral and then into park. My trucks rpms raced so high it sounded as if the engine was going to explode. I put it into park and the rpms lowered to a normal level. While this was all happening a wrench icon popped up on my dash. Once the wrench icon came on I noticed my dash wasn’t telling me what gear I was in or if I was in park, neutral or drive. I pulled into the closest parking lot. I put it in park and every time I gave the truck gas the throttle would continue to accelerate on its own and would rev extremely high on its own. I also noticed as I was sitting it the parking lot at idol there is now a thumping sound/ jolt when selecting what gear to go into. I don’t know if this was caused from having to slam the car into neutral and then into park so I wouldn’t crash when the throttle accelerated. I shut my truck off and it wouldn’t turn back on. All of my electronics work but it doesn’t even want to try to start or turn over. I had to tow my truck home and it is now sitting in front of my house unusable. I have videos I can provide.Read more

In April 2022, the timing cover seal on my 2016 Lexus ES 350 was replaced due to a leak. This was completed under warranty at approximately 84,785 miles. In February 2025, less than three years and roughly 56,000 miles later, I was informed by the same Lexus dealership during a routine service that
... the exact same issue—leaking from the timing cover—had reoccurred. There were no warning lights, engine performance issues, or visible signs of oil loss leading up to this. During my prior service appointment in December 2024, I was told the car was in excellent condition with no issues. I service my vehicle at every Lexus-recommended interval and maintain a full history of service records. The dealership has confirmed the new timing cover leak but has not been able to explain why the seal failed again. This is a major engine component that should not require a second repair within such a short time frame. I am now being asked to pay a significant portion of a nearly $5,000 repair despite a prior warranty fix, and despite having done nothing to cause or accelerate the failure. Lexus offered a partial goodwill credit, but no root cause has been identified. I am concerned that either poor workmanship or substandard parts contributed to the premature failure, and that it may happen again. Given the cost, critical nature of the part, and the lack of answers, this feels like more than just an isolated incident. I have complete service documentation and before-and-after video footage of the most recent repair. The vehicle is currently in my possession and available for inspection upon request. I purchased a Lexus because I believed in the brand’s commitment to long-term reliability and quality. That confidence has been shaken. I respectfully ask NHTSA to investigate this recurring failure and assess whether this is part of a larger issue.Read more

In June 2023 I was doing some minor work and inspection on my 2013 Silverado, while under the truck looking for possible issues before taking a trip to Colorado I noticed the frame had a hole in it, after further inspection of the complete frame and undercarriage I found holes all throughout the fra
... me and also cracks in 2 locations. The truck had 85k, the body is solid, and in great condition, kept in a heated garage. In June I went to a Chevrolet dealer to have an air bag recall repair done, at that time the mechanic did a complete inspection of the undercarriage and never mentioned the safety issue with the rusting frame. I decided to go back to the dealer to question a possible frame recall, in my discussion with 3 service writers they assured me there was no recalls or safety bulletins regarding this. Being highly upset about the frame I started looking for possible issues on the frame. I found hundreds of complaints regarding rusting frames and safety incidents, and a service bulletin that came out in 2014 which has been revised to cover up to 2019 Silverados. This bulletin stated the wax protection to prevent the frame from rusting was pealing off and should be repaired, the dealers were cleaning and sealing the rust locations as the bulletin stated. My complaint is, I never received a notice of the bulletin from GM. If I did I could have tried to take precautions to help prevent the rust from spreading. The Chevy dealership said there was never any frame bulletin or recall. Now my truck is not reliable and definitely not safe! The body and mechanical parts are in great shape. It’s unbelievable that a $40,000 vehicle is unsafe to drive, 10 years old, 85k miles and now worth nothing due to the bad frame. Not sure, but if you have read some of these experiences with other owners, I think you would not want any of these on the road. GM should be held accountable for knowing the frames are failing do to a sealer that wouldn’t stay on the frames.Read more
